I can barely see my screen these days, I have the worst desktop in all of the world. I clean it to near empty and within days it is full again, I have to refresh how icons are shown just to find things I have just uploaded. But now there is a new toy to play with, so I don’t see myself doing anything about my desktop in a hurry. Linden Labs has just launched their own Networking features.

If you like wall talking like facebook and, have a twitter or plurk fixation, this might be right up your next alley. Go to https://my.secondlife.com/ and log in, and you will see a wall of text, so many familiar names as it is straight from your Friends List. That is why I like it so much, because they are people that over the years I have actually had some interaction in world with. Not opposed to meeting new people, but the idea of adding friends because you got points of Karma for it – kind of made me think that it was probably bad karma – nice way to communicate with others all at once, and you can make it visible to all second lifers, or just friends, or even the world. The choices are yours, however in settings notifications for now I suggest unchecking all but notifications by email on your own posts, because so far in only a few hours I have filled two pages of gmail, and capping may be an issue with in world notifications once logged off.

Anyways in search of wild beasts of the Amazon, ok wait a minute, I watched the Pilot for Wonder Woman and while it was okaaaaaay, what struck me as insane was that there was a 5 minute fight scene with her and 20 guys and all through it you saw every single rope and pulley of them being pulled backwards if hit, or her jumping high or across a room, as well as even a door being pulled down a corridor as it was kicked in. WHAT THE? I have watched so much TV in my life and never ever seen such bad effects, maybe one rope by accident and so on, but every single shot for the full time, it was awful. I found out since though that it was dropped by the company doing it, and I am really sad face, because Wonder Woman was an incredible show for me as a kid, and had such potential for a series now.

Ok again back to my post, the YaxKin shoes I am wearing to many die hard Maitreya fans will look familiar. Yes that is because they are in fact the flat version of the ever so popular Ixkin heels released last year. The style is a combination of boho and gladiator style sandals, and the ones I am showing are the duo sets. These are really easy to wear, and will look great no matter what you wear them with. I have been prancing around in them all week, and especially liked them with this old Surf co skirt and new Maitreya shirt. The Yaxkin shoes will be out tomorrow onwards, and look for another very sexy shoe also being released at the same time.

The hair I am wearing is Lohan from LeLutka, and the poses used are made for long hair by Long Awkward Pose. It is really good to have poses on hand for specific needs, especially with all the photography in world that is done for advertising of products, nothing is more distracting from a vendor ad, than when the model has hair coming out her chest trying to sell you a pair of jeans.

I swear every year I do this big rant about how ‘this year’ I will post on my own climate. It is so hard to watch yourself swanning around in barely anything, when it is so cold and wet outside. But alas every year that never happens, and swanning I do.

A few weeks ago I was over at Epic, that store has certainly grown in the last year or so since it joined What’s New SL. I have been watching all the clothing releases of late too, and they are looking really fun. But it was the release of the Faun Tech Boots that really swayed my attention. These are just all sorts of fun to wear, but it is little cool things, that I didn’t even notice until after Mel pointed them out, or I had been wearing them for longer than 5 seconds.

First off they have tiny little TV’s on the fronts and backs playing old cartoons, so cute. Then there is the hud that allows you to change the accent colours, which is great for like neon pink or blues and so on, I stuck with white today. Lastly is the cool little particle source that emits from them, that is like steam or smoke or something very cool indeed.

On an almost recent trip with Newdoll and Whimsy, we went to WWI and I found out through Newdoll, that they had subranded to ?Why it should be Why Not? but oh well. The items I bought were the wrong colours for the look, but thanks to Marketplace I bought the same items as I did then in whites last night, while still able to stay on the VR Studio and watch Whimsy build the most awesome thing – secret for now.

The shorty shorts and tighter than tight shirt are just nice items to have, sexy and cute, but definitely will get extra wear out of them. The Shirt is of course going to get a lot more milage, as it is really well constructed but also just a great shirt style to have.

I am actually using one of the NEW Poses from aDORKable Poses, this set is the SidePony set, and even though my hair isn’t in a ponytail, the pose worked really well at keeping my hair where it needed to be. Also because of their greatness, I had a mirror pose to work with for all as well if needed – love that feature.

Also a huge MUST HAVE this weekend is the Mandala Nails, new nails, new styles with 60 or 70 – depending which hud you choose, I got both -  incredible nail polishes/art to choose from with the HUD, OMG a Mandala HUD we have all been waiting for this piece of YUM.

Doing the Rockstar look today. Well maybe not intented to be one, but if I was going to be on stage doing my thing I would so be all about looks like this one – I have also been humming Tex Perkins “Lawyer” for the past two hours so that helped my mood a bit. I love button down dresses, almost as much as button down coats, but I think you get a lot more out of doing something like this with a dress.

The fact that Mimikri totally captured the ‘look’ of an unbuttoned dress is just wicked. The set actually comes with adorable floral bikini bottoms, but for me it was all about the calypso slip, or a skirt or even some leather pants would have worked it. The fabric in breezy is divine, and I would love to see it done in solids as well as the polka dot look, I would love it in every print and solid in every single colour, it is so sexy.

The boots are fabulous and today if you hurry you can get these in the much wanted white version for only 50L. When originally the curvaceous boots were released the only option was cream as a light, but now white has been made for perfect gogo boots. Not sure if Gos is planning a plug in for the originals – love how he does that by the way – because I would have loved to have made the side buttons white for this look.

The hair I have on is nomi from Exile, so cute that I got stop IM’d when out shopping and asked where it was from, I always like when that happens because it is nice to be able to spread the word in world and out about fabulous items.

This weekend Gala Phoenix is going to release her new Stormy skin and you get an earlier peek. The skin is as usual just lovely body wise, and with all the tones and light dark effects. This one has much darker brows YAY. Stormy has as its name suggests stormy styled make ups, very deep and shades of grey and blues…very nice and definitely easy to incorporate into your wardrobe.

Wow it is over for another year. Hair Fair is such a big part of the committee’s lives for the months leading up to, that after it is all over and the booths are all packed away – thank you so much Mel and Whimsy – there is this kind of ‘ So um what now ? ” feeling.

Well to make sure that I didn’t fall back into the same old same old, I got right back on my VR Studio and took some pics of these great new releases. First off for the past few days I have been strutting around Second Life in these jeans admiring my own bottom. The Zaara classic jeans are just scrumptious for that, the shading the colours, it all works combined to bring some very delish looking pixels. Not usually a fan of lighter jeans, but these ones work…also you can buy the darks packs, so I combined two from each, so you could get a little tastey. They come on both undies and pants layers and have 3 different cuffs options, so very cool to have so many choices.

The Top I am wearing is part of the Elymode Vita collection, a set she created a few months ago, that she has turned into even more versatile pieces. I especially love the cinch’s that allow you to elongate the look of your frame, as well as can make some of your older pieces – whether Elymode or not – really fun new looks. I have done that with the cinch on the left with an older tank from Miel, and on the right with the bra top from Eclectic Apparel. The two E stores are a good match up actually, they both have an incredible fascination with pastel and purple.

The Vita mini skirts are a lot of fun too, and if you are lucky and are in the store when your letter hits the chair, well the Vita set was also done in a white with black trim combo, the summery looks you will be able to do with those are going to be HOT HOT HOT.

Speaking of summery looks, the Shaz platform thongs by SLink are so cute, not only because they are platforms and thongs, but because they has frogs or flowers as an option on the thong part of the shoe. You can turn that off as well, so you have lots of fun with them, also there is the coloured sole of the shoe, or a more natural woven look. To compliment these thongs, MOOD has created jewelry add ons. Now first off by Add Ons I mean just that, you must use the ADD option when wearing, so be sure you are using a multiple attachment viewer.

The Olivia Fancy Feet Add Ons, have a HUD that allows for changes to the colour of stones, accents and whether you want the toe rings on or off. They are really lovely to wear, but you must be wearing some kind of feet in shoe style thingy for them to work. You can actually buy either or both at either or both locations, lol.

Wasabi Pills has been busy, already releasing new hair since Hair Fair, two of the styles are male in origin but I decided that I wanted them for me too. The Thor is especially fun, and have you seen that movie yet OMG has he grown up into a sort. Holy smokes what a yum, and an aussie too, one that knows a thong is for your foot darnit.

My first experience with Hair Fair was Bandana Day. In 2007 Six Kennedy asked me to be the one that organised it, when I went to her suggesting it as an idea. I never i8magined what it would do, how people would embrace it, and yet every year people come forward from all over SL wanting to create one, or letting us know that they have sent their whole group over, held events wearing them and so on.

This years mix of bandanas is as awesome as years previous, there are RP themed ones, beach themed ones, fun retro ones, and very glamorous ones. Today is the day that we remove our hair to show we care. A day without hair to show some support to those that have lost, or are losing their hair to illness, not a lot to ask for, and it is just your avatar that does it. Mind you some have actually cut hair in past years and sent to charity to help in that way also.

Many over the years collect the bandanas and wear them to other laggy events, I see them often through the year, and cannot help but be proud that it is Hair Fair that provided that oppurtunity. Also the are transferable, so you can buy many and share with friends, or pass to others when it is laggy. Whatever you do, or are doing, or have done, this year so far the bandanas have raised over a Hundred Thousand Lindens and as they sell for only 50L each, that is awesome.

So whether you wear them today, or in the future, just be sure to buy some, because they are only available at the Fair, and if you haven’t looked yet, you may find out that someone you know made one…don’t want to miss out on that.

Also not wanting to miss out on is the Second Hair Fair Flickr Contest. It ends tomorrow but the access to the fair ends tonight at Midnight, which is only 14 hours to go. The contest prizes are amazing, and if you already have the pro we can add the time on, so don’t not enter because of that – some have asked.

I heard a secret today, well ok not really a secret, but Royal Blue is having a 50% off ALL BLUE items SALE. Now I am pretty sure it has started, but the only way to know for sure is to compare the prices of the blue items to other colours. If half price then BUY BUY BUY. If not then wait until further announcement.

The first store The Strand has hat hair lovers rejoicing – the buttons hair actually is clickable for three different colours, I am wearing these delish styles with some other Royal Blue items, everyone of them I do believe has a blue option. I am also wearing the BOOM shoulder warmers, my first ever BOOM purchase and one that will always stand up no matter how old as a gorgeous creation.

The second pic is Rosy Mood hair, so cute, and braids are so popular this year. I must say though that I would love to the the crimped look style without the braids as an option too. The short look hair is awesome and flicky, and could probably work on men too. The top is a great new top from Cynful, I am a bit torn between unbuttoned and buttoned, both have such good looks and ways to wear other than on their own.

L+N Signature does great out there hair usually and this year is a bit tamer, but I am loving the looks and especially the middle and left hair. All three worn with the great Yoke tanks from Whippet & Buck.

Only a few days left for Hair Fair 2011 so make sure you get all your shopping done, Whimsy and I are about to go again now, so make sure you say Hi if you see us.

So many exciting ways to create hair, it is what I most love about Hair in Second Life, that with the same tools available people can still come up with unique and fun ways to showcase their talent. I also love the textures that have appeared at this years fair, as well as the number of developed Hair Base Tattoos, that have definitely improved since last year.

First up Amacci, so elegant and beautifully worked, she manages to always do really good alpha hair, without getting all of the glitches that are very complicated to work around. Her hair is even looking softer lately which I am a big fan of. The dresses worn are by Peqe, I really like the strapless tube dress style, the print is pretty, but I did notice that there is a visible line mid torso that is not usually an issue with print placement. The effect comes off looking as though there may be a top option only, it could be an available print issue, but anyway, I still like the overall look.

OMG Lemon coloured hair, I got so excited to see a citrus pack in the hair from Gauze, but had no idea that Lemon would be so incredible. I love lemon, it is such a stunning colour, and my whole kitchen is Lemon and Blue, unfortunatly all in storage, but anyway. The hair by Gauze is all great styling and some could even be unisexy, but this loose knot style is all woman, rawr. Indie Rose I love you for your fat pack hud, I have mentioned it before, but seriously if all designers did this, it would save the planet – or at least the grid. Wearing a fat pack as a hud and clicking on the colour you want to wear at that time, and it delivering a folder you can delete once you wear it is GENIUS. These halter animal print jumpsuits are so sexy and fun and the colours available on the hud showed me that I would get a near match to the hair colours I wanted to feature WIN WIN WIN.

ChiChickie! has some great styles this year at the fair also, I love as well how they did their booth up to blend with the theme. Short, sporty and those lush tight curls all work as a great release for Hair Fair. I am wearing a sexy one piece swimming costume from Eclectic Apparel, and the rest of the great clothes are also from there.

Me. is a rebrand for Kia Goodliffe, and it has made her happy enough to be creating some great styles. They have huds that help you with streaks and colours for the accesssories, and I am a big fan of this wild curled hair with braid. Lastly Mina, another booth that looks amazing, and the styles in her release really vary in looks, from rockabilly tails, to loose and sexy, to these incredibly tight braids tied close to the scalp with their own unique hair base. Very cool release.

Just a reminder that the Flickr Contest is on until the 16th at Midnight, DO NOT MISS OUT, the pics so far are amazing and the prizes are wonderful. Also as it is almost the last day of the fair that means it is also coming up to Bandana Day, the 15th of July this year, but always last day of the fair. We remove our hair to show we care and wear one of the Bandanas modified by people from all over sl. You can buy one or more from the Hair Fair only for 50L and they are mod transfer, so you can send them to friends, and change throughout the day a few times, they are lots of fun and the money from their sale all goes to Wigs for Kids.

Only a few days left, and I am still trying to show as much as possible. The Derp booth was one of the first to set up, and I was really impressed with the unisexy styles this year. Fun little beanie do’s and a great wind swept look. I am wearing the OhMai harem pants that Anya recently put out for only 1L at her store. I really missed her being part of the fair this year, her hair last year was fabulous. But you do get the chance to see her cover her favs so far on her flickr and blog and WOW she has me in awe of her talent on a minute by minute basis.

Next up is Sugarsmack, such a talented cookie she turned out to be, from seeing her one pine style a few months back, to these lush locks. I especially love this shorter style, so very Mod Squad. Cannot wait to smack more sugar in the future. The clothing is Nylon Outfitters again, I told you I am collecting now lol.

The hair in this third pic is from TenFifteen, by Washu and Mikayla our other two Hair Fair chairs. Good to see them creating for this event again…history being Washu made the first ever prim hair in SL and many would remember Mikaylas famous hairrollers hair from 2007. I especially like the mens style in this collection, the hairbase is wicked with the braids as part of the base, allowing the rest to be all hawkey. The off the shoulder Gauze tops from Aoharu are just ultra feminine, I thought they were a perfect contrast with that look.

Pocket Mirrors are a new to me brand, and I am especially loving the updo’s. The one on the right is a classic bun but more leaning towards a true Spanish look, and so lovely. French braid in the middle and a lovely updo, all worn with some more Baiastice. How incredible is that coat, and the dress is just YUMMO.

Ok so next door is hammering and carrying on with repairs, but dude it is 8am in the morning. Seriously the worst rules about noise in my country are that you can start that crap from 7.30am., because they assume everyone is up and off to work. What about those that are working all night and stuff. RUDE. Mind you I can’t complain; because he sure doesn’t about me yacking in skype with Whimsy,Mel and whoever at 4am and onwards every day :P.

So like it is Hair Fairs last days for the year, sniffles* I can’t believe how fast we got it all done this time around, the only thing left to do is the awesome Contest where you can win fabulous prizes.

The hairstores shown in this post are Aoharu, Raspberry Aristocrat, Baiastice and Shag. Aoharu’s styles are very whimsical, thinking picnics and walks down by the river…they would have been so suited for the Salt Water Taffy sim, but we didn’t know what the hair was like in advance. Teaming them up with of course her other release this past week of these amazing shirts with scarf vests. Great look and so colourful.

Raspberry Aristocrat has some fun and fabulous tails styles, very cute and so adorable to wear in different and fun colours. I really enjoy her textures and these styles are both casual and lovely. I am wearing them with some items from Royal Blue, so excited that Marni Grut of Royal Blue is back in world, and I for one cannot wait until she releases some new items.

Baiastice has been creating hair slowly over the last year, and this years Hair Fair release is showing how talented she is in all areas, and can only strengthen that skill as time goes by. The hair I am wearing is very suited to her stores overall style, the dresses I am wearing are also her most recent release fashion wise.

Shag had a contest of their own leading up to Hair Fair, which was a lot of fun to watch. They asked that people show how shaggable they are, so that they could win the oppurtunity to model for the creator in the ads for their Hair Fair releases, so make sure you check out the posters and not just the hair in their booth. The styles are definitely sexy, but the ingenue is a level up leading into Princessnessness :P, and we all are Princesses right?

The dress I am wearing is from Eclectic Apparel, it is almost a build your own dress, as you can choose left or right in one colour and then the opposite in another, as you can see I moved the black left to right and then added the colour layer, an interesting concept and a gorgeous style.

Ok so I am like trying to catch up and stuff, and all the while unpacking and sorting and ooooing and ahhhing. But first a public service announcement …Dearest Darling Designers, Pleeeeeeeeease for the love of all things buyable, do not set your boxes and bags to NO COPY, when the items inside them are copy. Also if the items inside are copy and the box/bags are copy DO NOT add a picture or notecard that is no copy.

If trying to unpack and the box ends up no copy, two things can happen, either the box gets deleted because someone has those warnings off. Or the item has to be taken back to inventory which makes the whole inventory go back to where the box was, not where you unpacked to. Another reason, having copy boxes/bags makes keeping inventory to a minimum an easier task, as once worn you can delete the folder knowing you have the whole item safely in a box. But the most important of all, to both designer and customer should be, SECOND LIFE IS NOT THAT RELIABLE! there I said it, I love LL so hard, but honestly mixing perms is a big no no. If something hiccups, you have the added risk of your items becoming a neverending supply of resendable items…DO NOT RISK IT.

Ok now on to the yums. FIrst off Exile has an awesome release for Hair Fair this year, ever since his first in 08 Kavar has continued to grow and grow as an incredible hair creator. I love his names for the hairstyles this year, and also the effort he put into making the hair very theme friendly for the event, double yum on the oceanic theme of Aroha. I went with an all blue theme from Riddle, yay for all colours so you have the option to do such things as theme runs. Riddle clothing is always so hot, and I especially love the sexy tunic look, very romanesque.

Next up we have hair from Iren, she did such an awesome job with her booth this year, really love how she decorated. The bonnet hair is adorable, and so perfect for hippie boho looks or just getting really authentic and hitting the RP circuit, it is extremely Little House on the Prairie hair.With boho in mind I went with the Boho tube tops from Addict, I really like these with or without the sculpted portion, so it is really two in one. Of course I couldn’t resist wearing Nora jeans, my fav highwaisted jeans to date.

Frou Frou has done it again with some great statement styles, and no one is going to be able to outdo the post Gidge did on it, because I swear anything you were eatting or drinking while reading was going to come splurting back out. I laughed so hard. The lingerie I am wearing was a great find with Whimsy while out shopping one night, the prices are incredibly reasonable, and the workmanship turned out way better than I imagined, the ribbon set on the left in the blue is just perfect for this cute pinup inspiring hair.

Lastly for now the RedMint booth had me all excited, their hair makes me happy. These styles are fantastic too with the addition of the lock on the 10 hair and the feathers on the 11 which actually have their very own HUD, this hair and the leather dress also from Redmint is SEXY.
