Clothing Fair pt 2
Here I am again, continuing my clothing fair post from earlier , which isn’t really earlier as I still have both tabs active lol. The next dress had Whimsy wondering if there was a theme to the fair, and as much as one would have been cool, to my knowledge there isn’t for the creations.
Very 80’s rocker this dress is, which would be strange for a dress I guess, but this was totally the fashion back then for those girls that didn’t want to do the frou frou but couldn’t escape from the frills. Tiered was all the rage, and funnily enough this style print very much made coordinating with your partner a whole lot easier…damn mens shirts were ugly mid 80’s I tell you, but the same or similar print on dresses and skirts somehow worked well.
Sachi of Adam n Eve did a great job on this dress, it is easy to wear, and easy to accessorise. Whether girly girl with a bow in your hair, or tougher with that punky edge of zippered boots, I went both ways.

Has me oooing and aaaaing for the love for Mel. He absolutely nailed it when it came to this blue drop down last weekend. I had been secretly coveting the gorgeous Hydra necklace choker set from Rozoregalia, but really wanted Mel to see it first, and without him even knowing he bought it for me <3. My only concern is of course that it is no mod, but it does have scripts for resizing. Lucky for me I have my own aLu Necklock so I don’t have to worry.
The necklace comes in three styles and all three are just gorgeous, if I could wear them all at once and all the time I most probably would, but then I wouldn’t be able to wear anything else, so I will have to save it for the special moments .
I am totally taken when it comes to good silver clothing, and this is gorgeous. Fake has a shared space at Clothing Fair, and this is one of the RFL items as well as available seperately of the 3 pack in the vendor. The way Dream uses sculpties to enhance the Fake or Fantasia clothing always excites me, and this dress has the added beauty of a breast piece that allows for a smooth line across the chest, rather than the clothing texture dipping and covering the mesh.
It is those little things that will make Fake a store to be reckoned with in the future, the styles created for both lines of clothing brand are just fantastic. More Exile hair, actually all of the remaining styles are Exile and this updo is just gorgeous.

Ok the other item in the Fake/Fantasia store as a RFL vendor item were these INCREDIBLE throw me over your shoulder and ride away with me in your chariot style skirts – ok that isn’t the real name of them, but it should be – they are so beautiful and again just goes to show the talent oooozing out of Dreams fingertips. The hair I thought was appropriate too with the name Giselle it just suited the theme in my romanesque fantasy.

Another of the stores I had not heard of before was Likka House, Whimsy and I were looking about and some great pieces were there to be found, but as soon as my eyes hit the Shaula skirts I was all about the gimme fingers. The fabric, the style, and the overall look of this set is great… there is something about that fabric and that skirt that reminds me of being little, I don’t know if it was my Mum who had one, but someone I know had skirts the same and I just love them.
Nowadays though this look is pure Bondi markets , and that is just perfect wherever you are from. Even down to my toes I am channeling the beach…and people they are called THONGS not flip flops, that is the sound they make.

Lastly and meant to be, the little red dress Madison by Stellar is the perfect way to celebrate such an incredible effort by Nevar and all those that work so hard each year on Clothing Fair for RFL. This dress has a beautiful style, with its poofed out skirt and strapless bodice, a lovely mantle for the divine Jewelry by Alienbear Designs that I wore in part earlier. But in full now as this elegant dress needs equally elegant accessories. The hair, is a masterpiece, and I am not taking it off for now…an updo like this one needs to be seen.

I have mentioned in the past that I started out my Second Life as a redhead. I have red naturally through my RL hair, so it was just a normal thing for me to do, especially with the fun reds back then, which I now know where largely in part to tinting lol.
Anyway, since then with all the different textures and the lack of naturals packs …BRING BACK NATURALS PACKS PLEASE HAIR PEEPS. Whimsy and I often cry about the loss of such a valuable hair pack. I kind of moved to black as a safe colour, but spend most of my time in a large range of colours, yay for dyeing your hair without the chemicals lol.
Anywho, I was running down my folders tonight, and came across the lovely portia skin by Adam n Eve, blogged before, but I hadn’t paid much attention to the brows options at the time. IÂ realised that there is red as a hair base, and brow option, and as I had never done red brows in the past, I wanted to give them a whirl, for all those diehard fans out there.
With the beautiful red hair textures from Fri.day, shown here in the latest Summer style, you really do get a nice overall look with the red brows – demands Sachi now makes red hair lashes -Â I often wonder why there aren’t blonde and brunnette lashes in SL only black, not everyone wears mascara all the time.
Fia calls this my librarian look, I put it together early this morning, and only now had the chance to take the pic. Last week when shopping with Whimsy for her Oscars dress, we went to Reale, and I picked up these skirts. I really like the detailing, and have been throwing it on every chance I get since then.
A few months ago, there was a need for a hairstyle in Fashion Emergency. The funny thing was that when they supplied a pic to ask which one it was, all I could focus on was the jacket. So off I went and snapped it up. Naive does such lovely work with this cropped style look. The detailing on the coat is exquisite, I really love that all the detailing is done on the coat itself, and not reliant on prims. But I would love to see some sculpted cuffs and collar as an option too, for a fuller effect.
Accessory Fair is still going strong to my knowledge, and the item that called me to it in the first place was the ‘Where are my glasses’ necklace by Sissi. Not only is it a wonderful and humorous accessory, it has such lovely extra detailing and overall style, with the added bonus of being scripted to change as much as you can handle. The c0lours of the glasses, pearls and character all have multiple options in a drop down menu, so coordinating is easy.
What I learned today: Today I found out that you do not have to be a premium member to own estate land, only mainland. I argued this point like a crazy person earlier today, as it was always to me, and most of the people I know, the absolute rule. I do not know where or when they changed this, because I swear it was not like that back when I started, or dreamland and all those other estates would have never made money.
The whole basis of ‘leasing’ from the land barons, was that you didn’t have to become a premium account holder. Now what I don’t understand is, why is this the case at all ? why would linden labs put their highest priced item in the hands of people that have no commitment to them, who can buy privately with lindens, and then also pay tier with their lindens, by turning them into USD on the website, and not taking them, as LL goes to your USD balance first. So with no info on file, or ID needed, what is going to safeguard them against possible fraudulent behaviour ?
I am just baffled by it, so thought I would share :).

Right now I am spinning around on an iceberg in a bikini, only in Second Life right? at the same time I am listening to Whimsy read off the gossip and drama of the Golden Globe awards…did you know Sophia Loren wore a dress she has already been seen in *Gasps ! I mean seriously, do you think at her age, with her experience and style that she gives a damn what the media think.
She is an icon, I remember being little and seeing her for the first time in House Boat. Saturday afternoons were wonderful for old reruns of great movies…her and Ann Margaret were two of my favourites for sure.
This new skin by Dutch Touch has a definite movie star quality to it. I was trying to think who it was that the lips reminded me of, which is not easy as the skin is hand drawn. But then it hit me, Liv Tyler, and what killer lips she has ,right!
6 stunning tones, and so many different options, that the fat pack could totally take you into a new inventory level. Different brows, cleavage and NEW Hairbases, which is a very handy option to have these days.
Styling it up with some New and older pieces from MichaMi, another style icon behind the label in my opinion, Milla really does create such heavenly pieces for her brand, and she has a new mainstore too as of the past few days. *reminds self to change slurly*
All the poses I used today are from the new release by Diesel Works, they are a fun set of poses for taking pics, I like having a nice range of poses that allow for full skirts etc.
Stay tuned for more of the Gwen skins in the future, these are just lovely. They are being released soon. Now I am sitting in flan as you call it, I would call it creme caramel !

I saw these boots and thought straight away…biker jacket. They are totally that for your feet, so what’s not to love. Even the style has a engine dynamic to it at the back of the heel. I got on aim and asked Mel to log on and lend me his bike…but alas only the owner can ride.
Unlucky or luck, I take the second because it got me a ride down a long highway with Mel doing the driving. In australia we could never do this, helmets on or no ride.
I totally had to dress in theme, so I went T-Bird instead of pink lady lol. The jacket is all win, and so well structured for this look, at the moment Aoharu is actually having a 50% off SALE so you definitely cannot miss out on the bargains.
Some old favourites in the form of the Adam n Eve leather pants, I love the soft look of the leather in these, and they do come on all layers which is great. Donning the beautiful tied up hair from Artilleri, I love this whole look…simple but smoldering make up with the NEW IFe skin by LeLutka I am happy as can be.

I just wanna do you, do you…underneath the moonlight. Yes for those of you that watch Modern Family, I just watched that episode lol.
The other day I had the pleasure of spending a few moments with Anessa Stine, the multitasking demon. I was visiting the NEW offices of TOO SEXY an upcoming Magazine that will be launched in late Jan for Valentines Day. I am actually very excited about that, as I will be writing for the magazine, not something that I had planned to do, I was just being nosey…but it all just fell together. For me who has always worked full time for others – now I freelance which has been very satisfying – I had never put myself in for things like that, due to never knowing when I would have to TP with no notice to help customers etc.
So anyway stay tuned for more of that, the team is so exciting. While I was there I complimented her on her pants, I try very hard not to inspect when it’s friends, as I have said before…I just ask. They were from DCNY which is another business that Anessa is part of, and last night I was honored to have some of the DCNY goodies dropped on me. Which was kind of lucky, as I didn’t realise they were part of a set, and I would have been all over the store looking for pants.
I really like the old style of this set, it has that 1920 paperboy thing going on, or you can totally imagine it on a new immigrant with battered cardboard suitcase in hand as he looked up at the then huge buildings of New York. Yeah I know it is just how my brain is wired :P. But even though it has a very masculine style, it is very feminine wearing it. Plus what’s not to love when it comes with hat hair, the fedora with built in hair in many colours is included.
Donning another hat/hair style from Iren, this time adding a gorgeous Knit Scarf from Aoharu I toned down the look a little, and can see this shirt and those pants rearing often. Once established in the big city, taking on the Glitz and Glamour of the flashing lights and dancing until dawn, the Gloria dress is splendid for swiveling and shaking your tail feather, or in this case, your hip and front feathers as well.
I am today wearing Alice, another of the SODA skins, seriously if I was a make up company, this would be the style face I would want to show it, especially the lipsticks, wow those lips. Again the range of make ups is lovely, and for those in need of some lush red lips with smokey eyes, you need to give Alice a whirl. I am wearing Tuesday hair from Magika, but funnily enough she released a hairstyle called Alice yesterday too, with and without bangs, so you totally need to check that out.

An interesting thought reared it’s head earlier today. The idea of culling your inventory just to make it less of a burden on the asset servers. Now Mel and I discuss this every other day, believe me that is truly how often he picks on me about mine.
Actually that’s not even accurate, it would be every day. Even Whimsy cops it from him, and hers and mine are almost the same in size. Whimsy scared the hell out of me last week, declaring that if it was causing a strain – Mel says that when I log back in after a crash the sim stalls – then eventually her and I wont be able to be on the same sim; at the same time.
Ashia is more brutal with hers, she gets all powered up and starts deleting things left, right and centre, mind you though she freaks me out by not even looking at what she is deleting. Which recently meant she had to buy something she had previously owned.
Luna mentioned in a plurk that came up about it, that she culls hers to less than 30 (I think it was) and that if she doesn’t use it in 6 months it is gone.
I am sorry but NO WAY JOSE! I cannot go that low, never ever ever. Lately I have been going back and forth in my inventory to show older and new items together… as I always say ‘Everything Old is New to Someone”. I have gotten rid of items that are of no use to me at all, I know I have to completely strip down my furniture folder and what not…I did also get rid of over 3000 wigs recently from one designer, just because of all the colour options I wouldn’t wear…but I do have them backed up in boxes ‘just in case’.
I know it is out of hand, and I know I am a horder lol. But my inventory is my timeline here just as much as my blogs are. I have items from every store I have managed – most of those are boxed unless needed – I cannot imagine not being able to reach into it and pull out an item I know would be perfect for a pic, or blog post regardless of its age.
The absolute beauty of NO TRANSFER items is the ability to unpack, wear, and delete…just make very sure you kept the box. No Transfer means COPY, which means UNLIMITED amounts of said item. Example is the gown I unpacked again today to wear, the deep red one, that I modified so you could see my shoes. I have had that archived in the red for probably a year, the black is left out. Now I will delete the folder, because I know I have it safely boxed.
There is so much of that that you can do as a consumer, and so much that can be done to ensure that is easier as a creator. You see many are against boxed items, usually because they want to see what they are getting with an item, and that is fair enough.
But things such as fat packs etc, are better off as seperate boxes, yes you can right click take copy your single vendors and pop them into your fat pack vendor DONE, it is as simple as that. Creators please don’t make your boxes no copy though, when the items inside of it are no transfer, it is a bit dangerous to make the box they travel in different perms.
Anywho, once you unpack and wear, you can delete, just again be sure you have a back up box that actually does contain the items ready for next time. This also applies for high price items, UNLIMITED UNPACKS, if you mod it and mess it up, unpack another one, if you cannot find all the pieces, unpack another one.
If you spend a bit more than you are used to, and you feel that that item is something you would hate to lose, if it didn’t come in a box, then before you do anything else, make a box and drag copies of the items into it, name it exactly as it is on the item folder and save it to a different folder. I know of some people that sink valuables under the house lol.
Anyway enough of all that.
The shoes I have on were created just after the opening of the Footwear Expo, so they are available at the store and the fair, in different colour sets. This set is of course the darker tones that I asked Siddean to release, for those of us who love our ballet shoes with an edgier colour base.
I was also lucky enough to choose the name of them, seeing as Ashia and I are both lovers of our ballet stuffs, I wanted them to be named after her, if Siddean liked the idea… she did, so once they were remade in the darker colours, and ready for release I bought a gift pack for Ashia, and lol she didn’t believe they were named that, she thought it was just so she could find them in her inventory that Siddean had edited the folder, and that is why she deserved them.
My first look was inspired by the movies, you know when you see a dancing movie, there is always that teacher/instructor that was a ballerina when she was younger yadda yadda , and she just has such a lovely graceful style about her, well that’s what I was going for with this look.
Modified the skirt on the second, so that you could see the gorgeous blood red slippers. The gown is beautiful full length, but something like this under is a perfect shoe to dance the night away. The third look could be ‘ More strippers are classically trained than you think ” look, lol but it was just something fabulous fun and silver to wear with the shoes..but if you want to call it that look go right ahead.
The skin is NEW and beautiful, I am not only loving the usual features of Laq skins, but the make ups on the Ania are just a bit different than the usual I believe. Mallory has added an incredible gloss effect to the lips, and the colour combination’s are just perfect. I did notice more colour this time around in the eyes especially, glad to see a beautiful green shadow amongst the pack.
Incredibly lined lids, and a really perfect under brow highlighted shadow look , that is not easy to do with the template the way it is. Mallory does her make up like someone who knows and spends time doing their own. There are such little hints at colour and shading, that can really make your eyes stand out, and it takes skill to do that.
Ania is again a more mature version of the Glow skins, sometimes depending on shape others in the range tend to side with a more youthful exuberance, so if that has been a concern to you in the past, then you should check out Ania for sure.
All the hair in the post, old and new is from Exile. All those lovely curls framing the face are such fun, and I really like that tousled lived in look for hair, cannot be too perfect all the time, can we.

Sometimes you can find a piece of clothing, that has been constructed to not wear as it’s own item only, but definitely as an enhancement piece for many…allowing you to merge different pieces, and even different designers together.
One such piece that evokes that for me, is the Mia Corset pants by LeeZu. This corset under the bust style, that flares out into a ruffled shorts romper look is just fabulous, and even better is the high side slits, keeping it sexy and alluring.
I teamed it up with an equally sexy dress from BOOM that allowed me; due to it being mod, to shorten it enough that it didn’t show through the slits on the side of the pants.
I am also wearing the fantastic NEW La Vivien boots from Courtisane , these come in a lovely range of colours and feature the lovely work of both Enktan Gully and LeeZu Baxter. The boots are a slouched ankle boot look, with detailing in both the texture and addition of floral embelishment. With boots tucked in, or your favourite dress or skirt, they will come up a treat all year.
Another treat is the Amanda skin from Adam n Eve, more make ups that previously released. The skin as stated in the past definitely has a Eurasian feel to it dependent on your shape. Four beautiful skin tones, and as usual so many amazing options, now with breast enhancement, and hair bases, different lashes, and manicure/pedicures as extras ; as well as freckles, seriously one make up comes with a bazillion pieces.
Recently with the launch of What’s New SL Adam n Eve sent the incredibly hot leather pants and bra set to the group, it is hot hot hot, so I had to wear it to show off the skins, and it didn’t hurt the breast enhancements too much.

Crease begone ! or Blame it on the stain yeah yeah
There are those that can wear white, and those that know they can’t but desperately wish they could. I fall into the latter category. I always think that those that can wear white, are also the kind that don’t crease linen, no matter what they do…you know the people I am talking about, they are in every country I’m sure.
I have dreamt my whole life of being able to pull that off, and unfortunately never could, I can iron linen until it is ramrod straight and all I have to do is put it near me and boom creases. If it isn’t me spilling something on white, it will sure as hell mean someone will stumble into me and I am awash with tang or something equally staining… oops no wait, tang was the carpet .
Anyway I ramble, the New Fur coats by Aoharu are just the kind of item that make you want to be that person, the person that can go to any event and be just unflappable. Cool, calm and completely spellbinding, the fabulous thing about them, other than the obvious is that they are two coats in one, you can either wear with or without the bottom portion for a shorter more cropped jacket.
The shirt underneath is actually a dress , using the fabulous layer options of the Petite Dress by Luck Inc, it gives such a beautiful silvery sheen to the outfit, complimenting the silvery lushness of the white. Adam n Eve’s leather pants came up a treat also , thankfully having regular pants bottoms, as the shoes go on both lower and foot attachments, so pants prims are out, but these pants are fabulous even without the prims.
I am wearing a new to me skin by EStyle it is a Signature skin and it is the Panther line, very cool idea for a theme name.. the make up on these skins is really lovely, edging more towards a shimmery night time look. Also with a more diverse face allowing for quiet dramatic looks depending on shape.
In second life I can pull this look off simply and stylishly if I do say so myself, adding some accessories and the fabulous ability to dye ones hair in a moment, makes it so easy to be whatever fashionable style you wish. This coat is definitely a Must Have all four billion prims of it…only joking but be aware it is prim heavy so make sure you wear it where no one is going to throw virtual arc paint on you.

Desire and Portia at Skin/Shape Expo
Skin/Shape Expo is almost over, finishing on Saturday 10th of October 2009, there is still time for you to get on over and check out all the booths that are there, some items are only available at the Expo until it’s end, and one item in every booth is donating a percentage to help Fight the Cure, for the Susan G. Komen foundation. I am actually talking about this release in detail on Fabulous Fashion this week, see it HERE.
Adam n Eve have a booth there, and they have set up their booth a little different than usual. A small selection of different items are available , allowing the customer to see more of a range of their goods. They have shapes and skins at the Expo, and have actually made up packs including both so that you can buy a complete look for yourself.
Again a marvelous blend of hand drawn and photo realistic skins from Sachi Vixen, with the Desire and Portia skins being featured in todays post, with the Desire 2 shape and Amanda shape. They both have such distinguishing looks to them, and being so used to only ever using my own shape it is really unusual for me to look at a skin this way so close up.
I am wearing recently released lingerie also from Adam n Eve and these sets are so different from each other, but beautifully executed whatever your style.

Crazy
So last week when I posted on SK I said that I went to another store on the way home. Much the same as previous it was a crazy buying spree. The items vary in style, but they all have a definite charm, and with the prices being wickedly reasonable it all works to get your sexy on.
These are my favourites of the items I purchased, and yes I got more than this, but I think all up I was there for less than ten minutes, it was that fast and furious lol. The first set is definitely theme wear, as are a few of the items, but so much fun, and definitely a great chance to again wear my Surf Co. cowboy hat- even if it does take off my piercings , argh I so have to do a new attachment for that hat.
With some of the items from Crazy, yes that’s the name of the store, you will need to make slight adjustments. Such was the case with the pants to this set, as they are as long as pants go, that meant the mesh flared and as its open at the ends with skin exposed it doesn’t look so hot, but as they are definitely boot wearing pants, it didn’t matter, just shortened a touch and all was fine. The scarf came with and the colour of that is just lovely, a real sunset look with the worn in tshirt, which is sheer by the way.
The next set is fun for swanning about as I do, very sexy and fun to wear, you could add a skirt as I have done with other looks such as this on occasion. Janis the puffy blouse and Denim overalls romper look is HOT HOT HOT, there is so much to love in this combo, one thing that stands out is the fact that they have created a really natural looking piece of jewelry for the neck on a clothing layer as part of the look. Jewelry on clothes is a great thing, but can be hard to pull off, but as this is a leather necklace with a pendant it really works well.
The Janis set also comes with the belt, so its all systems go straight out of the package. Another club ensemble with hot pants and a lovely lacey edge looking boostier, these sets are just fun, no matter how many you have. Road, what better name than for this one, a greasemonkey I’m not, but if I was to pull apart an engine I’d want to look like this. The tattoo parts of this are so fun, the grease stains and tiretracks lol, even the chain link belt is wicked.
The Umma set is my fav fav, I did have to wear the bra from the Glam set though. The shorts are fabulous in tweed, and the cinched vest wench look really floats my boat. I could talk all day on these items but I wont, not today…today you have to go out and see for yourself.
The skin I am wearing is Yasmine from YS & YS , a deep rich tone, with and without hair base, with black or brown brow options. So many variations to choose from. The make ups are very striking and really worked for these looks today, my favourite features would have to be the shiny lips and cats eye make up. THe body of the skin is as usual beautiful, demo demo demo as there has recently been three new skins added to the stores range.
All of the hair I am wearing is by Mirai, some old some new, the New is the one featured the most lol, I really love that Mirai recently seemed to change textures to a little softer than they were for a while. They have such a wonderful range of hair styles, especially for lovers of big hair.
The Rodeo boots are by Adam n Eve , and I really do like the shape and style of these boots for a cowgirl theme look. I also decided to take the BAX Prestige boots for another spin, so they feature in the rest of the images.
