Purple shades of Grey
Honestly if it wasn’t for the generosity of the designers that send fat packs to be blogged, I would have a hard time doing this so called punishment purple week. But luckily they realise that we can go back to an item long after originally being posted, and feature a colour we may not have shown the first, second or third time, nothing like that added exposure to your brand lol.
It is also the easiest way to send stuff ….right click take copy of the vendor and send, easy done, no need to make up folders and stuff …I don’t know how people keep all that stuff straight sometimes. It is also wicked for making back ups of your vendors as singles for customer care and sending to an alt, but me and my belief on all designers sending everything they make to alts is a whole different post.
It is fun revisiting older items, especially as it is something I enjoy doing often, showing older things so they can become new to someone. Such is the case of the top in the first pic, and the bottoms in the second. With some newness thrown into the mix.
The pencil skirt by CoCo is new, and wow on the fabulous shading on the system portion…system skirts aren’t easy, and we are lucky to have some incredible designers who appreciate them, so they do them well. Purple and Grey go so well together, it is actually purple that I think does such beautiful colour contrasts, think Purple and Yellow, Purple and Pinks. It also gave me a chance to wear the lovely Ganked jewelry set – see I do buy purpley things – and these very cool new Homespun glasses, very cool shape and texture change options for frames and lenses.
Ok it’s a bit nuts, I am still awake and of course seeing everyone from your yesterday again already after they have slept, even though it is still my today, which is now your today, but was your tomorrow a few hours ago :P.
Ok so what was I saying ? oh yeah….the second combo again using grey and purple, is actually part of a set up top, from Crazy – fun store that one – and the bottoms are from BOOM, which I so neat because I was only thinking about BOOM earlier today and up they popped when I searched purple.
I did some tinting – YAY FOR MOD – with the beads and the armwarmers. The hair didn’t need it as the fabulously floppy bow in the Dorothy hair by Magika actually had a perfect plum in the texture change menu.
I am wearing the new skin by LP Designs, these skins have a cleavage that is made for a much larger bust than mine, but with the right outfits you can totally work it. I really enjoyed the fun purple make ups on both of these skins. There are actually three in the release , in two tones each and a handful of lovely make ups. DEMOS DEMOS DEMOS and especially if you like a skin that enhances your bust , these ones certainly do that and more.

Grape Ape kicks Barneys bum
Ok so I am in the sin bin for a week. The punishment is that I have to wear something purple in every single post. Now purple lovers don’t get all persnickety, I have an issue with one particular purple, not all…it’s just become such a thing for me, that I tend to shy away from most automatically now. I had a purple coloured room, and my best friend growing up loved it, it was such an 80’s teen girl thing for sure.
So I never had a problem with it, I also love plums and the shades that vary throughout the purple spectrum, but I hate one particular purple and it is because it has a violent memory spark attached to it for me. So when I say I don’t like it, don’t misunderstand me, it isn’t a hate for the colour, it is really a hate for the memory. So Ashia 😛 this isn’t really a punishment *grins*.
Featuring lots from Whippet & Buck today. The Lesley set is a delightfully fun romper, that is made a little old school in the trimmed edges and terry cloth like look. I was trying to think of times a romper would be totally perfect for the occasion and I realised what better place than a mosh pit. Ok seriously my brain went there, and wasn’t going to come back until I put together a look that had me jumping off stage into a group of sweaty headbangers.
My combo has its practical points too, such as Posture collar by Plastic, when flying around in the air into a tight knit group, you never know how you may land, and this thing could totally double as a brace if injured. Then you have the fingerless leather gloves, putting a nice little germ barrier between you and the masses.
Studs often are an essential, kind of like porcupine spikes… they are great for warding off other dancers from getting in your way, you may need to head butt someone , so headbands with studs totally rock, then shoving people out of the way with swift hip movements makes the belt a plus.
Don’t even bother wearing socks or tights that are in one piece, sheesh are you kidding. Torn is the only way to go , and these sex appeal socks are perfect, not only pre torn but the arrows show off your kick butt boots to the enemy, in case they have any ideas about taking your space.
While all of this is going on you are perfectly covered up with your romper, keeping all your bits protected and yet staying cool at the same time, wooot terry cloth. But if mosh diving isn’t your things, well then you can always just go out for the day in yours, the style is adaptable for all needs.
I am sure I mentioned the show Greek the other day, and the sexy in a mans shirt episode, well in following along that train of thought, the Shay contrast shirts are perfect. They are of course from the Whippet & Buck mens section, but honestly I love that side as much as the girls side. MORE PANTS PLEASE !
I could totally see walking around the house with one of those on over my lovely Agnes Lingerie, also from W&B – see that I got lazy there. The Agnes set comprises of the pieces shown as well as garter straps on the corset, they are just for decoration though, as there were no stockings with, but I am sure I can hunt for some that will work…sometimes a bit hard to match up garter ends to stocking tops if not same creator.
I am wearing the corset/cincher over the top of a boater top I went and grabbed from W&B during taking pics for the post, yes it is true I needed to get more purple lol. This is actually the shade of purple I have the issues with, but I made an exception, the style of the boater top is great, and there is a huge range of colours to choose from, I have it in other colours already.
Are you liking the skins I am showing today as much as I am ? They are the latest release from Fishy Strawberry, and you totally need to go hit her SOM today, because a group gift is going out at some stage that is just beautiful. The body of these skins is so well done, the options are of course enhanced in the cleavage area, with light and dark brows as well as hair bases. The make up on them is beautiful and even with the down turned lips they come across as really character enhancing.
I am really liking the little bit wild side of the latest hair by Fri.day, the studded headbands are so cool, and the options for without and colourchange make them very wearable all the time.
Now I hope I remember to do the purple thing the other days this next 6 days, I wrote myself a note RL lol. Have a fun day everyone, and don’t let bad memories influence you forever, you may miss out on some incredible things because of it.

Clothing Fair pt 2
Here I am again, continuing my clothing fair post from earlier , which isn’t really earlier as I still have both tabs active lol. The next dress had Whimsy wondering if there was a theme to the fair, and as much as one would have been cool, to my knowledge there isn’t for the creations.
Very 80’s rocker this dress is, which would be strange for a dress I guess, but this was totally the fashion back then for those girls that didn’t want to do the frou frou but couldn’t escape from the frills. Tiered was all the rage, and funnily enough this style print very much made coordinating with your partner a whole lot easier…damn mens shirts were ugly mid 80’s I tell you, but the same or similar print on dresses and skirts somehow worked well.
Sachi of Adam n Eve did a great job on this dress, it is easy to wear, and easy to accessorise. Whether girly girl with a bow in your hair, or tougher with that punky edge of zippered boots, I went both ways.

Has me oooing and aaaaing for the love for Mel. He absolutely nailed it when it came to this blue drop down last weekend. I had been secretly coveting the gorgeous Hydra necklace choker set from Rozoregalia, but really wanted Mel to see it first, and without him even knowing he bought it for me <3. My only concern is of course that it is no mod, but it does have scripts for resizing. Lucky for me I have my own aLu Necklock so I don’t have to worry.
The necklace comes in three styles and all three are just gorgeous, if I could wear them all at once and all the time I most probably would, but then I wouldn’t be able to wear anything else, so I will have to save it for the special moments .
I am totally taken when it comes to good silver clothing, and this is gorgeous. Fake has a shared space at Clothing Fair, and this is one of the RFL items as well as available seperately of the 3 pack in the vendor. The way Dream uses sculpties to enhance the Fake or Fantasia clothing always excites me, and this dress has the added beauty of a breast piece that allows for a smooth line across the chest, rather than the clothing texture dipping and covering the mesh.
It is those little things that will make Fake a store to be reckoned with in the future, the styles created for both lines of clothing brand are just fantastic. More Exile hair, actually all of the remaining styles are Exile and this updo is just gorgeous.

Ok the other item in the Fake/Fantasia store as a RFL vendor item were these INCREDIBLE throw me over your shoulder and ride away with me in your chariot style skirts – ok that isn’t the real name of them, but it should be – they are so beautiful and again just goes to show the talent oooozing out of Dreams fingertips. The hair I thought was appropriate too with the name Giselle it just suited the theme in my romanesque fantasy.

Another of the stores I had not heard of before was Likka House, Whimsy and I were looking about and some great pieces were there to be found, but as soon as my eyes hit the Shaula skirts I was all about the gimme fingers. The fabric, the style, and the overall look of this set is great… there is something about that fabric and that skirt that reminds me of being little, I don’t know if it was my Mum who had one, but someone I know had skirts the same and I just love them.
Nowadays though this look is pure Bondi markets , and that is just perfect wherever you are from. Even down to my toes I am channeling the beach…and people they are called THONGS not flip flops, that is the sound they make.

Lastly and meant to be, the little red dress Madison by Stellar is the perfect way to celebrate such an incredible effort by Nevar and all those that work so hard each year on Clothing Fair for RFL. This dress has a beautiful style, with its poofed out skirt and strapless bodice, a lovely mantle for the divine Jewelry by Alienbear Designs that I wore in part earlier. But in full now as this elegant dress needs equally elegant accessories. The hair, is a masterpiece, and I am not taking it off for now…an updo like this one needs to be seen.

Ok story time.
A while ago I got an invite to a fashion show, not so uncommon but the name of the store was so familiar to me. Funnily enough I had been cleaning inventory the day before; and when I came across items from the same store I got all nostalgic.
The invite sat out on display in my house for a week, I did not want to miss the show. The day came and I tpd over and crashed so hard that I couldn’t get back online for a few hours. I was sad I had missed it, but then the next night when with Mel, I was chattering away and a blue drop down appeared – remember my story about Mel and Xstreet – and he said that he saw something he thought I may like.
Not only was the outfit fabulous, but it was created by the designer who’s event I had missed. I was so happy that I swanned around in it all day. Now the background is that many many moons ago, back in August of 2006 a girl I had brought to Second Life had made friends with a very popular then D.J called Arty, and that D.J had a friend that he wanted us to meet, and at that time I was blogging for Appearance Mode.
So we all went to this store, and the creations were all lovely, and elegant and I bought two sets which I went on to blog and really enjoy. Somehow though over the years, I lost touch with that store, but never forgot the really nice time we spent there with Designer Kimmera. It was a fun day, with Arty, Kitty and even Fia came to spend time with us that day.
I am not sure if Challis or Caralyn still exist in her inventory, but they sure do in mine :).
The Divalicious set is gorgeous. The hat is reason enough to buy it, but the fantastic use of system skirt for the sarong, and the high cut swimsuit that is just superb…it all works so elegantly, and would be perfect for walks along the side of a pool at some incredibly expensive resort, because a look like this has to be seen, it’s not for swimming in.

No wonder Oysters make you wanna do it
The incredible blonde of this skin, had me leaning towards athletic style looks. But then I gave into the warm and cozy of the pieces shown today. The knits, tweed and tartans all make up such wonderful pieces to mix and match, or to wear solo depending on style.
The first two dresses have the same backs, but as raunchy as they are, the knits themselves tone that down just enough. Suspenders are something I have always loved the look of on womens fashion, very stylised and reminiscent of the roaring 20’s and mens pinstripe suits.
Many of the pieces shown today are older ones from Deetalez, and whether old or new to you, they definitely add and enhance wintery looks. A lot of the pieces have solids or print options, and I would be totally torn when it comes to choosing for these coats, as both are just divine.
The New Pearl Glow skin by LAQ has been developed for the natural blondes, the bottle blondes, and the blondes hiding inside of us all. It’s that perfect light shade that is both sunkissed and nordic looking, with the perfectly pulled back look that can look both casual and stunning.
Beautiful body base as usual, with subtle day to night time make ups. I really love that you get such a lovely natural blonde look, and it is great that it also comes without a base for those that just want the brows and not the hair. Hair base skins are so easy to fall for though as they really do change the look of hair you wear with them, often enriching the over all style because of the additional hairline, so make sure you try on the demos asap.

With the heat still being a huge factor down here, it is nice to flit about in items that you can feel beachy keen in. Casual, yet in some cases suitable for work – dependent on your job – keeping cool is the main criteria, and seeing as we are still lacking in the air conditioning it is a major thing.
Often though you can find cool breezes come out of nowhere, and the adaptability of your look is important. In Melbourne they are known for all four seasons in one day lol, we Sydney-siders aren’t that tricky. I actually took some of these pics last week, so they are all over the place.
A light cardi is a bonus, and the one that I am wearing is all win. It is actually an older piece from Sand Shack Surf Co. and is at her outlet store, I fell in love with this holey cardigan at first sight, so it is definitely even more of a bonus that the pack is an insane low price.
A BIGGGGÂ release is planned for Sand Shack Surf Co. today, but this is all about the Boardwalkers. The New shoes by Emma that come in either mens or womens – they have resizers built in, but the shoes themselves are MOD so you can make them that perfect fit for you. These Boardwalkers are that perfect balance of flat casual moving into dressy, especially when it comes to menswear.
For the ladies it is totaly all about the Sun, Sea and Sand, and accessories lol. I am loving the bag by Indy & Co. I mean how cool is that, and I was so excited that with all the texture change options I could totally make it work for my outfit. I am all for Citrus love, but a more subdued look had me leaning to the oversized tote, with that mix of weave and leather. Between the both of them you could probably carry a packed lunch and a change of clothes.
I am being oodles of cheeky and getting you all ready for St Patricks day, because I mean it’s what, only a month away… but as it is both Pisces time and St Patricks , the green version of the new Koi shirts by Miseria were a must. The other top that is just too delish is the Draped Sweater from Fri.day…I love the innocent front and the clandestine back, always a favourite look for me and many, as Ashia mentioned in her post.
In all the pics I am wearing a recentish release of skin by Dutch Touch, this is the Sjors skin and the body as usual is lovely. The face is a lot stronger than in past releases, the brows definitely fabulous as she does a fuller brow like no other.
The mouth is where the face changes more than usual, and with the many people I see lately with downturned mouths this would really work well for them. For me it changes my appearance enough that I would feel a need to tweak, and I don’t tweak for skins – I have done three tweaks in the last 2 years, I love seeing how a skin can transform you on its own.
I prefer personally more of an upper lip cleft, but looking at the release done a few days apart of Sjors and Gwen, Gwen would have me covered, having more of a smirky cheeky smile hiding in her lips. That is the great thing about the Dutch Touch skin line and it’s ever expanding line, you will never have to wait too long for something you can love.

Talk about racing against the machine, I was so trying to get this post out in time, but alas the skins are sold out . Beating her last record by sooo many hours, the Idiosyncrasy Daily Deal ended up being a Morning Make Up…how awesome and I am so glad I got mine.
Showing off with the beautiful Limited Edition Make Up in the Justice skin, I have on the latest creations by Fishy Strawberry. Cute aren’t they? I did throw in a touch of Emery for length, but all in all the newest seperates are fun to mix and match.
I need BettiePage Voyager to make more hair. BP* Hair is always so adorable…I just went by to check if there was something I missed and ended up with another style, soooo cute is the Spring Short Bob. These pieces can be used for casual day wear, or vixen nights, it will be up to you to accessorise and do that thing you do.

blog – Travelling by your heart
I love how much you can do in Second Life if you just have the time to do so. Mind you that should probably be ‘take the time to do so’. Yesterday Fiachra and I went to Dublin, world travelers we are, I have actually been to the real version, and I have to say the build even as dated as it is by Second Life standards now, is still fairly accurate on landing.
Today Ashia asked me to come to the UK, or maybe she dared me… not to sure either way. Unfortunately I have done enough traveling in the past few years for a while now, and so I had to make do with this post. Last night I stayed up all night and it is now already 7am, and I had the best time putting these pics together. For the most part I was in IM with the girls and Fiachra, even Mel came by to visit with me for a bit, only encouraging me more.
Our lot are like that, totally encouraging of each other in so many ways, a real support team…but then we will also make very sure and pull each other away from crazy town; if we feel one of us is taking a holiday there. We all totally have an effect on each other too, how we dress especially now more so than ever before. We seem to channel each other on any given day…but with our own sense of style.
So today is definitely my version of Ash, my version of Whimsy, and a bit of a mix of Jussy and Newdolly. I already channeled Sofia a few days ago but I am not telling which post lol. Such an incredible, and powerful mix of women, ones I am truly proud to be associated with.
Another amazing woman is Indyra of Indyra originals, over the years I have coveted many of her incredibly detailed sets. I have met her a few times in the past, and she even came to my birthday party one year – the one I actually turned up at, damn internet – her store is a perfect blend of high fashion, and ladieswear. She has such an incredible scope of what is hot and stylish, a finger on the pulse so to speak.
Such is the case with the first two items today, not so new as I have had them in my to blog folder from a shopping trip for MONTHS, I should be ashamed. Ironically when Indyra came to The Deck recently she was wearing the second set, and it just kicked me in the bum to get posting on it.
The first set is just drop dead hotness, the pieces on their own can be reworked into so many looks it is just fab. The second set actually also comes with dress pants, but the skirt is all win. Made in such a way as to be prims but shaped like a pencil skirt it is just divine, and I want one in all colours lol.
The top is pure Whimsy, with the animal print it is RAWR. I had fun with this one, the gloves are tinted to match the boots, even though gloves do come with the set, these ones were a better fit for the look I wanted. Two perfect hat/hair moments thanks to Maitreya YUM.
Now the boots we have to mention as they are divine! and New! and awesome! The Marina boots by SLink were released last night – go the Aussies – and the structure of them is just delightful. Very shiny though, I would love to see Siddean do them over again in a more subtle leather, as this one was a tad hard to wear with every day wear. Latex lovers will unite and cheer though, because they are just stunners. Beautiful built front platforms and incredibly high heels, what else is there to know, other than MUST HAVE.
Another Must have is the Leather Luggage sets from Shade Throne, I mean seriously how adorable is that. The bag I am holding has 6 different animations for it, and there is a sit in the floor luggage. A great prop, or just perfect for a finishing touch on a room.
When I saw the name of the next dress I knew I wanted to mix it up, and have some fun with it. It is intended as a cocktail dress, seeing as it is from Indyra’s Couture range, but Shirley Temple on the Rocks had me at Delora hair from Analog Dog lol…perfect bouncy curls that don’t get in the way like some of the longer styles may do. When thinking Shirley you think Lollipops and when you think those you think Violet Voltaire, well I do anyway, and sure enough her Jewelry was all win.
Wrapping this all around the gorgeous new skins from Amacci, the Felicia skin is athletic but still soft, and so sexy with the beautiful tones and broad make up range. Cleavage options and a hair base option will make many skin fans extremely happy with this skin, it looks fantastic on everyone I have seen it on so far.

Being able to find a store that caters to all your clothing needs is a great find. Back in the day, there seemed to be a fear of branching out into other genres, and I remember the backlash that came about when one well known designer dared to make something that wasn’t the norm. Her explanation was the real need to be able to change what you make, just so that you can rekindle the passion for it.
So excited today, I got the dropdown I have been waiting for for months, Hair Fair 2010 broke mental soil today…it is going to be a while before anything is sent out or done publicly, but that is the way these things work. I cannot wait to get started, Hair Fair is always such a HUGE event, and I love being part of it every year.
A store that touches on all sorts of clothing needs is SySy Designs, SySy has a real passion for all kinds of looks and it shows in her work. One thing that she does dabble in most is clothing for women with an active social life, the ones that actually go out dancing, on dates and to events throughout the grid. Sexy and alluring, and moving from your sexy cocktail frock to hot disco dress and then weaving in and out of casual to formal, SySy taps into it all.
Because I felt nostalgic for Hair Fair, I went through and grabbed some styles I remembered from the last one. The second style I did edit – Yay mod – I was able to alpha the hair sticks so that they didn’t show as I prefer the lines of the style without, and how delish it is.
Enjoying a spin in the Belleza Alyson skins again, the make ups work really well for all the different styles of clothing, and the pouty lips are just gorgeous.

What have you been up to lately? blogging feels so one sided sometimes.I hope everyone is making plans for the upcoming smooshy face holiday. Is it a holiday in the U.S ? we have so many public ones here in Australia, but I swear everytime I turn around we are spending weeks getting ready for something…it feels like Halloween was only a few weeks ago, not months.
The great thing about Valentines Day is that everyone gets a chance to complain, I mean seriously it’s either someone complaining about their partner won’t do a damn thing, or complaining how hard it is to buy for someone, or complaining about not having anyone to buy something for and so on. I mean it IS a Hallmark holiday after all. Pfft Valentines Day doesn’t only have to be about you and a lover/partner why can it not be about all you love?
I love Second Life, so besides Mel and everyone else in my life, I think a big smooshyface kissy kissy should go out to SL this year. I mean what’s not to love, the fact that we have everything at our fingertips is pretty darn awesome. One thing that is mahhhhhhhhhvelous dahlings, is that we have such a mixed range of fashion. The range exceeds that of RL in many ways, besides the obvious fancy etc, the one thing that often captivates me is the urban kind if street wear that is bordering on drop dead sexy.
SK Designs is such a designer, his fashion is on that borderline of sexy that lara croft would wear. None of the foo foo frills for that girl, you need to have something for the women in Second Life that don’t do pastels. So having such a broad range, and an incredibly broader market allows for this style to truly shine.
