    Ok story time.

A while ago I got an invite to a fashion show, not so uncommon but the name of the store was so familiar to me. Funnily enough I had been cleaning inventory the day before; and when I came across items from the same store I got all nostalgic.

The invite sat out on display in my house for a week, I did not want to miss the show. The day came and I tpd over and crashed so hard that I couldn’t get back online for a few hours. I was sad I had missed it, but then the next night when with Mel, I was chattering away and a blue drop down appeared – remember my story about Mel and Xstreet – and he said that he saw something he thought I may like.

Not only was the outfit fabulous, but it was created by the designer who’s event I had missed. I was so happy that I swanned around in it all day. Now the background is that many many moons ago, back in August of 2006 a girl I had brought to Second Life had made friends with a very popular then D.J called Arty, and that D.J had a friend that he wanted us to meet, and at that time I was blogging for Appearance Mode.

So we all went to this store, and the creations were all lovely, and elegant and I bought two sets which I went on to blog and really enjoy. Somehow though over the years, I lost touch with that store, but never forgot the really nice time we spent there with Designer Kimmera. It was a fun day, with Arty, Kitty and even Fia came to spend time with us that day.

I am not sure if Challis or Caralyn still exist in her inventory, but they sure do in mine :).

The Divalicious set is gorgeous. The hat is reason enough to buy it, but the fantastic use of system skirt for the sarong, and the high cut swimsuit that is just superb…it all works so elegantly, and would be perfect for walks along the side of a pool at some incredibly expensive resort, because a look like this has to be seen, it’s not for swimming in.

Doing a bit of a studio/location mix today, yes I do get out and about for most of the day, but I tend to save all my pic taking for at home. I wanted to go back to a brandish newish build today though, to pretty much just revisit it.

Pixel Mode just recently rebuilt the whole sim, and gone are the modern conveniences and stylish builds of before, now in its place is an incredible plantation I guess you would call it, or in fact a homestead that is a full estate lol.

I wanted to feature some of the clothing from Doppelganger, and as it is all very down to earth clothing, this was the perfect backdrop, well I kind of cheated with one pic at The Deck, but I changed shoes and felt a bit odd about taking pics for a blog post in another stores shoes; at a sim owned by a shoe store…I over think things I know, but it just felt more respectful to move.

I love overalls, they are just fun, and if you watch Ugly Betty …then last weeks episode would have had you chuckling …The Woodcutters Overalls are just fun and very comfy. I really like the style of them, not your regular bib look overalls. Teamed up with the Henley shirts also from Doppelganger, I was in business to um harvest something maybe ? Ok how about just look fabulous on a porch :P.

I finally found the hair I love that Athena wears in her ads for Miseria lol. I could have just asked her, but I actually thought I had it and/or that I knew where it was from. I just kept forgetting to look. So today I stumbled into it with Sofia and Whimsy and snapped it up. I love the stores at that sim so much, which is funny because I have been there about five times in the past month, and never went downstairs.

Wearing with it a lovely long dress, I love this style, in RL it was a big fad for a while to unbutton the dress from the bottom and wear lots of layered cheesecloth style skirts underneath, or pants…tieing a knot in both sides to keep it open…very Tree of Life circa 93′.

The last dress is a pretty day dress, more of a frock really for sure. Sculpted skirt parts make it a bit fiddly depending on your AO, but such a pretty dress that it is worth investing in some stands that limit hip movement…and always good to have anyway.

The Skin I am wearing is from Glance, it is part of their 2010 secret sale, many stores are involved in that, you will see signs at the stores with info…an item or two or three at each store is marked down to 50L you just need to find it, and I just let you know part of it at least, but there is another, so look for two. It is really pretty, and the make up is great for this time of year. I love the full glossy lips and expressive eyes. The body is also YUM, so check them out… you may have noticed that Dango Jewell did their art posters recently and WOW they are incredible.

A girl in in group chat said something along the lines of ‘ I don’t think plaid can be fashion’, I definitely disagreed and the conversation steered elsewhere for a while. Plaid and tartan consistently over my years being alive, have come and gone, when I was a toddler it was all red tartan, from skirts to peter pan collars, to the lining on trenchcoats. I am not just talking me, even though I did love my little red plaid skirt.

Mid to late 70’s again it reared up and was in more muted tones this time, plaid and tartan prints on greys and navy’s. Dress pants and mid length skirts, definitely crossing over into an older and more mature dressed look. Back and forth it goes, again rising up mid 80’s with the Punk/Rude looks with black bomber jackets , shaved heads and red plaid pants or skirts. Both the men and the women this time.

I wore blue tartan all through highschool, and in Australia where we wear uniforms, plaid and tartan is everywhere in our school system.

I had plaid/tartan stockings in the 90’s, and the burberry look came back in full swing in the end of the 90’s and begining of the naughties. Suddenly there was Burberry and Plaid, with mixes of different tartans all over the place, from luggage to purses – loves my Burberry purse – to scarfs , hats, and clothing. My purse is real, my scarfs are just regular but so adorable in baby pinks and blues.

Even this time of the year is Tartan filled, from ribbons and decorations, to traditional clothing that brings Christmas and well wishes to all, it is not just Fashion it is the return of an old friend. Whether you wear vintage or new, plaid and tartan will always be what you want it to be…a hint of it, or a full covering, it takes a definite flair to carry it off well. Don’t go overboard of course, but “Own it ” if you are going to bother.

I was cleaning up some folders and came across some items I hadn’t blogged until today, the hat/hair dreads are just wicked cool, I love not only the cowboy hat with the skully of doom lol, but the dreads give it a whole different dimension. Also different are these wicked cool boots, the ones with the ring between heel and base of the boot, now of course in RL I would fall over and break a limb in these, but in SL I danced away some hours this morning while Maht was doing his 26 hours for Charity.

Second pair of boots are from the Footwear Expo and they are so cute, they remind me of wellies but with heels, which is kind of a funny thing in my house, everytime my Mum returns from the UK she brings back Wellies, yet we do not have the weather or a farm. Mind you the most recent pair were bright red, so I can’t say I blame her, and these boots remind me of that look, so for winter and snow these are definitely the go, and with the colour change hud, so much fun.

Australians just love their sheepskin, probably not as much as the Kiwi’s do though *snickers* and then promises I am just teasing. We have always used sheepskin for clothing, it is the perfect warm in winter, cool in summer natural product. Sheepskin carseat covers are very common, and the infamous Ugg boots of course.

It is humorous that until Pamela Anderson was parading around between takes in them, they were actually a fashion DON”T for most of us down here. But most of us have them, and generally they were used as slippers in winter, I even accidently left the house in a pair once, and when I got out of the car and realised, I freaked out so badly that I flicked my foot so hard that my boot went careening across the car park.

Had that still been my reaction to sheepskin fashion, it would have definitely turned the moment I saw the Shearling Coats, these jackets are just fantastic, the style, fit and texture work is amazing… and so spot on to how this kind of coat would sit on the body.

The other really versatile item in this post are the Western boots, what is there not to love. It is not easy, well hasn’t been in the past to find really well created cowboy boots, especially girly ones that don’t lean to the too girly. Beautifully crafted with all the extras as usual, the ability to wear with or without the belt strap is just one of the features I love, because it is those little things that can really change your overall appeal to something.

A man that loves make up, is a wonderful thing. Kavar Cleanslate definitely has to be that guy, or he has a good ear for suggestions. Either way there is mucho love for the latest release by him of the Heart Shaped Box skins. Bow shaped lips, with a pouty look that usually lends itself to the most spoiled of petulant women, but with a can’t deny sultry look that could go back and forth through eras. Some of the make ups have a very vintage quality to them, and then there are some that are definitely our era so to speak. All of the names suggest a musical presence, and nothing can be more endearing than a song.

His first foray, I do hope wont be his last. I expect to see a great range of faces come forth from Kavar, as he has always struck me as very aware of his surroundings, and the needs of the women that make up parts of those surroundings.

Getting your western groove on is simple, and if you are feeling ” a little bit country ” like Newdoll this past week, then these looks can carry you there, without being too cheesey…not that there is anything wrong with cheese, I LOVE IT.

    Footwear Expo 2009

Still so many items to show from Footwear Expo 2009. One of the stand out items for me was from a store I love to visit regularly. I have shown in the past their heels and boots, one pair are even open backed which I love bunches, and are actually set up in their booth at the fair too.

This New release boot is gorgeous. Divine texture work, on equally fabulous sculpted form. The Pauole boots are just must haves for sure, not only because of how wonderful they look, but also because of how inexpensive they are, especially for boots, but that is normal for R2.

Most of the clothing I am featuring today is LeLutka, the seperates they have been releasing of late are just perfect for mixing and matching, to their own; or other designers wear. I especially am in love with the Rockin Pants, they are a leather highwaist style pants, and are HOT HOT HOT. The work on the textures to give them that authentic look is remarkable.

The last few releases for LeLutka have been all about pants, and leggings. A big fan of both, this allows for such a broad scope of fashion ideas. Whether worn on their own, or with large oversized sweaters or dresses layered over them, there is no end to the possibilities of your imagination. But if your imagination doesn’t reach that far, you can check out many of the blogs that take care of those ideas for you. * Points to blog roll on the side ——>

Accessories too play a huge part in an overall look, and lately those have been coming from all over SL. I have been seeing a lot of designers step up to the plate in providing pieces that compliment their own style, as well as add to others.

Fishy Strawberry and Luck Inc have both recently added belts to their stores, first off with the Fishy Strawberry Geisha Leather Belt, these belts are done in the Obi style around the mid thoracic area, but can of course be resized with script and moved down around the hips as I have done for this pic. Luck Inc has made solid and print hip belts as well, a wide double holed belt look, very military in style, but totally chic.

Another thing when it comes to accessories, is don’t limit what comes with one thing, to only that thing. Perfect example is the bow in my hair, it isn’t actually in it, but it is actually from another hairstyle, but I loved the bow so much I dismantled a copy of the hair, and I add it to a number of styles as you have seen in the past.

Pulling out some older items, the first being an item from MichaMi, it is a piece from a set, which of course is wonderful. The other is a swimsuit by Persona, that was actually named after me, and I am honored because it was, because of the layering options, both pieces work well.

Again showing more of the fabulous new Winter2 Skins by Gala @ Curio. The make ups in these are wonderful, and the red lips in the smudgey make up, was perfect to show with the Rockin Pants…that kind of dancing until dawn, mascara running down the face look most hardcore partiers will know well.

My favourites would have to be the silvery based shadow ones, they are the Snow Angel ones, but all of them from top to bottom are fabulous.

    blog – Playing with Ken

    Baia1
    Baia2
    Baia3
    Baia4
    Baia5

Some refer to dressing up in Second Life, as dressing up their Barbies. That’s cool, but today I got to play with a life sized Ken.

Now the great thing about being in a relationship, is getting to imagine all the fabulous shopping you will get to do for your partner. Well I actually met mine while he was out shopping, I sold him many suits and we became good friends from that, and then on to more ♥.

Thing is though, as much as I want to dress him up in yummy things, he decided long ago that his inventory was not going to get much bigger, if anything it has gotten smaller, and he teases me about mine daily.

But he definitely has an eye for style, and if I can manage it, I am so taking him to Baiastice for these wonderful new clothing items for men. Sissy has done the male community proud, a big shout should be heard around the grid, because the opportunity for men to dress as stylishly as their female friends/partners/colleagues just got a whole lot easier.

I love all the pieces, they interchange with each other so effortlessly, suits and separates definitely an incredible opportunity for different looks.

I also had a lot of fun with the hair, yes all mine, and about time I got to use it all. The hairstyles with hats, are fantastic scripted to change styles from MadDesigns, I love both as they are such blokey bloke looks without being too blokey, and definitely on the right side of fashion.

Also making me very happy, aside from my favourite City Walk shoes, was the fact that my J’s shoes/boots all had male options with them.

If you are dieing to redress your male friends/partners then make sure you check out the new collection, and while there, maybe slip next door to the womens.

    Blog – Boyd Loving

    Action

    Action2

Very militarian today, is that a word? Which ended up exactly for me the theme of the night OMG OMG OMG OMG they remade V . You have no idea how excited I am about that, it was my favourite show at it’s time, I have hired the videos so many times and watched them back to back to back.

These two looks would be perfect Visitor looks for that show, and I am so loving both. The Paine Skirt should be renamed to Painless, all I had to do was stretch both sides in edit, and I was done. The pockets on this skirt are adorable, and the shape and texture is stand out quality.

The moment I saw the Tess on a Mission bodysuit I was there, at LeLutka clicking like no tomorrow. The style is something that I have been favouring a lot lately, the shoulders are fabulous and the fit, again perfection. The plunging back lines up well with the high waist of the Paine skirt, so there is definitely some mutual love going on there. I am really loving how well all the small releases from Maitreya are working so well with each other, even going back to some older pieces, they all blend incredibly well.

Another peek at how well the Nishar leggings by Zaara work as seperate options, the thigh high version in socks layer are just wonderful, especially with such arty prints as these. A newish posture collar for me from The Hat Mechanic, now this one comes with the Goggles sets, and is fantastic, BUT BUT BUT chatting with Fade earlier today, I have been told that there may just be a more stylised Posture collar in the works for later this week, as a stand alone item…I am truly excited about that.

Rocking out older items in this post, first off in the way of Olive my gorgeous flapper style hair from Gurl 6 , hands down my fav Gurl 6 hair. I wear it lots and love it more. I have even converted Ashia to it’s brilliance. The other older items are the beautiful SODA skins, I love these skins and both releases had me wearing them all over the place. The faces are beautiful, the make ups wonderful, and with the Persona line you actually get four lipsticks in one , so it’s a bargain and a half. She has enough unique faces there to really get your own look, so if you haven’t been to SODA I suggest DEMO DEMO DEMO all of them.

Bloggers fate again last night, the other day I went to Whippet & Buck and got me some more Boyd love, I adore these pants, they are from the mens side, but that never stops me… Mel looks great in W&B but these pants I cannot get enough of. So I picked up the fabulous Powder colour in the new lighter colours, and lo and behold an almost PERFECT match for the New Coat from LeLutka, I was so excited. Definitely getting my Napoleanna on.

Now if you are wondering where the killer lashes are from, they are Tease lashes from Calla. Yes Calla went and made lashes, and OMG the fitting was even easier than the skirt. The Calla lashes are made differently than any lashes I own and the method is brilliant for fitting in my opinion. A small shift of the top lashes and I was done.

    Blog – Rude Girl

    Rude

I have been channeling this week, the other day I totally felt like Whimsy in my sweater post, and tonight like Ashia in my rude girl look, mind you her being in and from the UK it isn’t a far leap. Have to thank her though big time, both of them actually, as they have both given gifts to the What’s New SL group as a launching present, and there are more to come.

I have been wanting to show the Pomski boots since I got them, and never really had my mind in the right place for a look to go with them. I didn’t want to just wear pants and be done with it, so the New release of the Nishar leggings by Zaara came at the right time,  they are woah.

There are like a billion options for each colour/texture pack. You have highwaist which is brilliant from a designer look perspective, low waist options, as well as different sock heights and fittings…such as open toed for that dancer look. You are going to have lots of fun with them this season.

I am wearing the Dirty Black leggings, and they are probably the plainest of the bunch but were perfect for this Rude Girl look. The Loathed High Waist mini from Kyoot is shown in its proper glory this time around, the taupe having been a fabulous 50L friday item a few weeks back, I have it also in the black, the coloured tops add that little something something that can tie a whole colour palette together.

I love the combo of it and the Tulip tank from Miel, the two are so great together that you can look at them differently, the top of the skirt almost looks as though it is possibly the bottom of the tank.

Kari had the perfect hat being the Rude Boy hat, but we will ignore the boy part. I love Kari’s hats, I wish he would do more and more.

The skin is of course the wonderful Gift Skin for What’s New SL group in world, if you join and go to the archives you can claim it and other gifts.  Or go to Idiosyncrasy or any of the other 80 stores already part of What’s New SL and click one of the Kiosks and join from History in Chat…The base of the skin is the Mia base which is the latest of the Idiosyncrasy skins…there is also an Exotique tone about to be released at the Vanity Skin fair that starts very soon, so be sure to keep your eyes open for that.

    Blog – Me, Myself & I

    Me Myself and I

    Me Myself and I2

    Me Myself and I3

Are you going to want to buy out the entire store, I do believe so. Are you going to take your bestest Male friend/partner/lover with you, oh most definitely. I arrived at the store and was instantly drawn to not only its clothing and accessories, but the overall ambiance and flow of the store.

They just get it, you will know what I mean when you go visit for yourself. The clothes are fabulous seperates and combination’s throughout, the designers have a great way of showing off their ideas and concepts, without dictating to you how you should wear them.

Myself is the name of the store, and you will just want to gobble it all up. As I said the accessories are fab, as you can see the bags and belts are just glorious. Not only do the belts come on different attachment points, but also either modify or resizer script enabled, and different hues of the same colour in each set. You will not want for anything when it comes to options.

The bottom picture is actually a set, the pants, shirt and belt with also a bag the same as the ones in the other picture, so you need to definitely check out the combination sets before accessories, as you may just save yourself a packet.

The Sita sweater dress and sweater itself are actually options you get when buying one colour, I am showing two obviously but just imagine both ways same colour. It’s a lovely soft cotton knit, and I can see it being very useful for the upcoming cooler days. So much fun combining the two looks with the accessories and also having great colours to work with in the boots and flats from Pixel Mode.

I have much love for the hair today, the top style Wrangled Piggies – chuckles at the name – is from Epoque and it was created to go well with the Sand Shack Surf Co cowboy hat, but on it’s own it is equally splendid. The second style is the New Charli from Maitreya, the look is just sweet and a great continuity style. Lastly Nicole from Aden, I love this hair, obviously because I have posted the other day in it again, but this time it’s brown :P.

Again featuring the beautiful Jolie skins by Dutch Touch, more lovely make ups, with the really beautiful body detailing. There are so many options to these skins now, freckles , eyebrows shape and colour, cleavage and layers for those extras and differing make up styles. I personally love all the skins from Dutch Touch so when there, if Jolie isn’t your thing, try on some of the other demos

    Breezing Through

    B4
    B2
    B1

    B3

It seems like these pics have been hiding in flickr for weeks, everything has been on fast forward the last few days. Skin/Shape Expo has been going strong since the second the doors opened, and that is a fabulous thing. Right now though I am trying to not lose my mind, due to the fact that my pc seems to want to sound like a powertool all of a sudden and it’s so loud it’s scaring the hell out of me.

I have always felt that the Breeze skins by Gala @ Curio were more of an everyday skin, a bit purer than the Vixen or the Lovely. but by no means does that mean any less sexy. It was just as much fun to dress in different looks for the NEW Breeze 2 skins – now found at Skin/Shape Expo , than it was for the other two.

The first dress I am wearing is actually on my wallpaper, and if you have ever seen my flickr, you will find it familiar, as a dress I recently wore on a romantic dance evening with Mel. It is the Anessa dress by DCNY , named after the delightful Anessa Stine of On Your Toes.

The dress is designed to wear short or long, and has a definite resort/get away kind of romance to it. The colour and style made it perfect for this make up, and opting for bare feet for the evening walk along the beach as the sun sets just felt right.

A day spent outdoors is perfect for the Meeko dress from Bare Rose,  I got so excited when I saw this dress, as our favourite pink fox is named Meko and it is such his style.  All little girls have at one stage I’m sure had a frock just like this one. The style is so pretty, and the addition of the chest piece not only has the sheer patch but also a curve between the cleavage to actually make the dress more believable in style.

Again able to compliment the beautiful blues in the Breeze 2 Make ups in the Gala skin . The Mary Jane shoes from Miel and their  fabulous colour change options  worked a treat also, having a lovely cornflower blue in their lights option. The hair I am wearing in the – ok seriously I have been writing this post for 3 days lol – pictures except one are from Clawtooth by Clawtooth , they are the Good Morning and Good Afternoon styles, I really love this hair, there is also a Good Evening with bangs, but these two are my favourite of the three, I am also stoked I went for the red pack not black as usual, because how cute does it look with the kini lol.

The Next picture is the latest releases by Miel, seriously is there nothing those two talents can’t do ? The cali cords are such delightful sculpted skirts with a beautiful belt, you can also buy the belt seperate.

The hoodies, have a beautiful style to them,  not your regular sweater hoodie at all. Recently Miel entered hair making, and they have taken to it like ducks to water. The styles I am wearing are either sold with hood attachment or without. So even if you aren’t into the hooded look, you don’t have to miss out on the lovely style.

I really like pulled back bangs do’s, and this one has a lovely widows peak kind of look to it, that is even hotter. The whole look is cool and casual, but with definite style, and the perfect neckline to show off the New at Jewelry fair Primagine Cascade set , this jewelry is really awesome and has that boho but elegant charm that is so in right now. It also doesn’t hurt that it draws attention to the cleavage.

Lastly the Retro Dots Bikini , also from Miel, and so prettyful, the colours available are delightful, and the style is vintagey fun. The top half is sculpted but not hard to edit and it does have a glitch layer.

So as you can see Breeze 2 Skins by Gala are fun and flirty in a ever so pretty way.
