    Market Day

    Aba

So I was all ready to do a mammoth post, you know those days when you want to crunch as much out as you can. But then I got an IM for a link to You-tube, and it was very interesting. I then got distracted by other clips by the same creator, one thing lead to a bucket of tears and that was me done.

I have only seen the trailer, but I did watch an interview with the producer of the documentary, and that had me so moved all on it’s own. It was actually an interview done by an SL Resident, and it was his IM that lead me to it in the first place. I would love to be able to see The way we get by. It looks to be such an emotional film, but I would have to see it at home because the blubbering would be too much for the public.

The vintage looking blazer was a find at beetlebones and is a freebie no less, it was the perfect choice to wear over the beautiful dress from SALT, as I knew as soon as I saw it how I wanted to wear it, other than out of the box which is just lovely as is. The bag is another freebie from Berries Inc, seems the b’s are coming up with all the goods this week. The bag comes with three different versions, and is the perfect strolling market day bag, or off to the beach/pool for a swim and sun-bake. It has all the necessities built in.

One of my favourite things as a blogger, is when colour palettes just work. Even more exciting is when one has nothing to do with the other, and yet somehow they match.

Such was the case with the latest releases from MichaMi and Kookie, the new City Wedge shoes have colours that work so well with the latest from Milla, it is so easy to put looks together, or just make life simpler and slip your feet into the shoes and your body into the clothes and be done with it.

I went the simple route today, as it is my Sunday, and I have lots of work to do. The Nina pieces are a mesh lovers delight, with the tanks being ever so versatile, and the capris and crop having a sort of futuristic sporty theme going on. I guess the mesh would cool your body down much faster, so that works, mind you not sure how I would go running in those shoes, but then again all good fashionista’s can run in heels right?

The hair I am wearing is newness from SHAG, it is actually out for one of the get it cheaper now pay more later kind of groupy things that seem to happen a lot lately. The Hawke is a male style but I couldn’t resist. Hawkes look so cool with hairbase skins, and the Lola by Lelutka works a treat.

Underneath the Mesh tanks, I have on the Fri.day sweet.heart dress bodysuits, YAY for a SALE at Fri.day until the 12th. I was able to grab the colours I didn’t have in the dresses that have the bodysuits, such good value. In the next pic I am wearing the beautiful Kat Dresses and Samara Tops, both such easy to wear items. If you are not a fan of sculpted skirts the Kat dress has a system skirt option also, it is really awesome how much Milla does with her clothes to provide for every variation.

Some great socks from DeLa, they come in all different lengths and colours as an all in one pack, and the City Wedges again which are so much fun.

Have a great weekend everyone, make sure you spend some quality face time ( meaning actually leave your skyboxes and talk to your friends in front of them) with friends and colleagues.

FYI . In the top pick I have on a Tattoo layer I threw together so it is not part of the skin.

I have this obsession, it is known as Ninja. It has had such an impact on my life in the last year or so. Yes it is a website that lets me see shows that are not yet in Australia and I love it.

One such show of course is Glee, only just started down here, and yet I have already seen the season on Ninja. I have laughed, I have gasped and I have bawled like a baby over that show…not only are the cast incredibly talented musically but they sure as hell picked a bunch of truly wonderful actors that can really pull at the old heart strings.

So the other day when I was tping around, I saw this fab t-shirt and just had to show my Glee love, it is the perfect backdrop show for a bunch of society labeled “losers” and that they all come good, and are shown to have so much to bring to the table, it makes me very happy indeed.

The boots I have on are the Armarda boots by Kookie, the three colours available are a splendid mix, and with or without socks option works well, because you never know what mood you will be in ahead of time. The leather texture on these is just that right side of worn looking, and I really like the mid calf length of them.

The recent hair release from Fri.day had me joyously happy, with the hat/hair combos of YUM. Not only is there the fedora look hat/hairs , but also the loose knit cap look, all three are just perfect, and Fri.day came to the party bringing out a set of Fedora poses as well.

Have you been to Whippet & Buck lately? if not you should go, and when you are feeling a bit bleh, it is so much fun trying on all the demos of the clothes, not just for quality assurance, but just because it could open up your eyes to something you wouldn’t normally see yourself in, and you can pre plan a look, mixing and matching with other items.

Everytime I visit, even though I know exactly what I am getting, I cannot help it, I have to try them on, because I think if they went through that much trouble, I’m doing it.

Speaking of Designers who go above and beyond. I was trying to piece together my last look, and came across the fabulous Magician Vests in my inventory, I was sold on their hand drawn lovelyness…but the colours were not going to work with what I wanted to do. I Growled and Grumbled in Eclectic’s IM box, and moments – seriously moments – later I had a new colours folder of the Magicians Vest, which she has put out for sale in her store at a special price.

The vest is just perfect, and comes on all layers, so you can mix and match to your hearts content. Vests are such a classic, and when done in this style they become a perfect staple for your wardrobe, and these new colours give them a definite vintage op shop look, having you ready for a day out doing the markets and galleries with friends or solo, to finish off at your favourite cafe.

Alice is a GLOW skin by LAQ, Alice just like all GLOW skins have a youthful essence to them, that not only works for casual and sporty, but merges into girl next door turned bombshell without much effort at all. Today I went with the more out and about looks, I think after the Tasha 2 pics I needed to show LAQ in a different light lol.

I am wearing the new PM Sculpted nails…these have pretinted bases for many skins you may like,I was wearing the LAQ Nougat gloves and I was set.

The nails come in sizes from 10-50 and the hud gives you lots of colours and french manicure options.

    blog – Your Girl

    Girl
    Girl1

Gone are the days when the “Girl Next Door” has to be mousey and non-descriptive in looks and style. Now she may, or may not still be a bit of a tomboy… but I like to think that she just marches to her own stylish drums. I was listening to some music in YouTube today, one of my favourite movies of old is The Thing Called Love…such an awesome film.

I wish I knew where the word salopette comes from, because seriously it is such a random sounding word…one which I have never even heard of before SL, but apparently it means overalls. These ones come with two bottom options for the legs, ones rolled up looking and the other is this. I really like this unusual garter type pull and tuck look.

My second look, combining parts of the first, has on the possibly shortest skirt I have ever seen – that is flexi and as detailed as this one – it is tiny tiny short, and I even dragged it a little further down my hips. The bottle cap/badges and chain detailing in the skirt is really fun, it actually reminded me of course of many other items I have that have similar embellishments, allowing me to co-ordinate even more than I did this time.

Okies so I am off to trudge in my boots, aren’t they stomp worthy, the socks come attached and are click to change colour, oh that reminds me, I am aware I am wearing two pairs of socks, but with all of you up there complaining to me all morning about the cold, I felt a little mix of seasons was called for lol.

The Girl Next Door skins by SODA are a softer looking ideal, allowing you to have a light everyday look, but there are lipstick options that allow for nighttime wear as well. My favourite feature is of course the beauty mark under the eye, so pretty, and the full lips and incredible body shading make this a must DEMO DEMO DEMO skin.

    Blog – Rude Girl

    Rude

I have been channeling this week, the other day I totally felt like Whimsy in my sweater post, and tonight like Ashia in my rude girl look, mind you her being in and from the UK it isn’t a far leap. Have to thank her though big time, both of them actually, as they have both given gifts to the What’s New SL group as a launching present, and there are more to come.

I have been wanting to show the Pomski boots since I got them, and never really had my mind in the right place for a look to go with them. I didn’t want to just wear pants and be done with it, so the New release of the Nishar leggings by Zaara came at the right time,  they are woah.

There are like a billion options for each colour/texture pack. You have highwaist which is brilliant from a designer look perspective, low waist options, as well as different sock heights and fittings…such as open toed for that dancer look. You are going to have lots of fun with them this season.

I am wearing the Dirty Black leggings, and they are probably the plainest of the bunch but were perfect for this Rude Girl look. The Loathed High Waist mini from Kyoot is shown in its proper glory this time around, the taupe having been a fabulous 50L friday item a few weeks back, I have it also in the black, the coloured tops add that little something something that can tie a whole colour palette together.

I love the combo of it and the Tulip tank from Miel, the two are so great together that you can look at them differently, the top of the skirt almost looks as though it is possibly the bottom of the tank.

Kari had the perfect hat being the Rude Boy hat, but we will ignore the boy part. I love Kari’s hats, I wish he would do more and more.

The skin is of course the wonderful Gift Skin for What’s New SL group in world, if you join and go to the archives you can claim it and other gifts.  Or go to Idiosyncrasy or any of the other 80 stores already part of What’s New SL and click one of the Kiosks and join from History in Chat…The base of the skin is the Mia base which is the latest of the Idiosyncrasy skins…there is also an Exotique tone about to be released at the Vanity Skin fair that starts very soon, so be sure to keep your eyes open for that.
