I have not done a video in a long while, with the introduction of Bakes on Mesh by Second Life to the grid, the release of the new Redux system by Slink gave everyone the chance to see first hand how it could work. They have been working diligently on the newer system for a year or so, and while Bakes on Mesh was not a part of the official viewers it was in beta for a great amount of time, so people could test out features, create content for it to be ready to go.

The Redux system is a complete overhaul of the body parts available (heads to come) making the items streamlined and efficient when it comes to things like complexity. The bodyparts have no layers other than the base that uses bake on mesh (system layers). This removes 3 layers of mesh, the ankles and wrist sizes have been removed and a lot of the scripting is no longer needed. This reduced my complexity by a large amount, and with the Bundle, you have one attachment for body, hands and feet.

I go into the features and showed unpacking the product, and going through the transition from what is now known as ‘Classic’ to bakes on mesh, not only with my Slink Physique Hourglass Bundle but also my LeLutka Chloe head.

I do hope the video is helpful to those that wear Slink but also those that may be missing some points about how Bakes on Mesh will change things overall.

I did realise through this that I tend to say SO and OK a lot, so if you want to turn it into a drinking game, I am not responsible for your actions afterwards so make sure it is chocolate milk or something equally adorable and be safe.

After Hair Fair we usually have a break from doing much of anything, but it is time to get back into it, and with the introduction of Bake on Mesh and the excitement I am feeling with it, it was time to start sharing my Second Life again. I also had a very exciting morning that I will share info on later in the week. Things are getting very fun for Second Life, and the wonderful enhancements that are taking place are just stacking one after another to bring me much happiness.

So it turned out fortuitous that Nutmeg just opened their ‘The Getaway” region up to the public, they do this every so often and as in the past, the layout overall is just divine. The landscaping the view, and the elements used, come together in a magnificent way.

Prepare yourself for a delight to the senses, and either visit alone or with a group of friends. Space is just the right size for a really enjoyable chill-out moment for you and yours.

I am so excited by Bake on Mesh, if that has not been made clear to you all by now, then understand it, it is true. With the amazing Redux update included in all of Slinks body parts, the opportunities abound. I have dropped complexity in a huge way, and the fact that I am not in pieces at all now means tping and crossing regions just seems effortless now.

I made my own alpha for this great blazer that I have on, tinted my tank top that is mod, grabbed alphas from random items I already owned for the jeans and I was good to go. Then stacking on as much makeup as I wanted with my own custom Moles and honestly not giving any of it a second thought, just made Second Life for me incredibly fun again.

I think that that fun may have exploded into my shopping, as Sn@tch is having a SALE and I was prepared for hitting them big time when Bake on Mesh went live, but after 110 items purchased I think I cleaned them out a little more than even I expected. I had this major epiphany about two dozen or so items in that I could now wear anything with holes or crocheted etc and put on a bra under it and nothing would clash, and that was the end of me, I was in for it all.

I ran on over to Exile after that to catch up on some hairs I have missed, and landed in the middle of a large group of people, knowing full well I was at the time going to be yellow and blue (if not using a bake on mesh viewer you look very odd) and I just laughed and had no cares about it, it was the 2019 equivalent of tping to a store bald in glitch pants.

Firestorm is going to be releasing their Bake on Mesh viewer as soon as possible, and the preview versions are wonderful, not a problem so far, and I cannot wait for everyone to really embrace Bake on Mesh.

LeLutka also did an update to their heads, with the 3.4 versions have updated versions of the Bake on Mesh button. So if you did not get yours yet, go hit up the redelivery terminal, or wear your head and it should just send to you.

Playing a bit with titles today, as the Hair Fair is coming to a close on Sunday Evening at Midnight 1st September. The last day of Hair Fair is Bandana Day, where people wear the Bandanas they have purchased from the event that are made by other Residents like themselves. All purchases of Bandanas donate 100% and are mod/transfer and have become little collectables over the years.

There are also the Hair Fair Hares, with each year them having their own little theme and Bandana to match, they are wearable or rezzable and are also mod, as you can see Mel had to Mansize his. This year the Hares were hungry so all of them have a little food item. I love the Hares the base hare was created by Anya Ohmai and the Bandanas are created by Mel Vanbeeck.

I am also showing some of the bandanas I picked up at the event – not all as some I got in all colours. I do hope you have time to make it over for the last day and a half of the event, and pick up some Bandanas, Hares or just drop some lindens in the donation kiosks that are around the event.

I hope everyone had fun this year, I know I did. I may be cleaning sand out of my shoes and clothing for a few more weeks though.

Bake on Mesh went live on Monday, information HERE. Strawberry and Xiola Linden did their first Lab Gab live streaming YouTube session this past Wednesday and talked about it in detail, giving some quick tips and information on Slink being first to do a fully integrated Bake on Mesh release, with all their bodyparts now including the Redux option that is bake on mesh compatible. Important to note, bake on mesh layers are default SL System Layers, you do not have to wait until something says bake on mesh or bom, if it was made using the SL system layers in the past it will apply.

I grabbed my update and my bodyparts now due to Slink Redux bundle are now only One attachment, that is monumental. This gave me a chance to pull out some much loved and not able to wear items from inventory that I have not seen in years but pined over.

I have my gorgeous skins from League and she has set out ‘BoM Feet & Finger Fixes’. Wearing older system layer skins will mean that they could have the toes divisions and fingernails on the skin itself as they may have been created for the SL Default body at the time, you can cover this up with tattoo layers and Slink did include some, but Nena of League has put out the ones that work with her own feet and hands layers. So grab those they are in the store FREE.  I also could not resist putting on my crochet shorts, oh how I love these and now that we have the ability to wear them again they are now in my favourite wearables tab.

The Slink Redux system has implemented smooth options, so that even though wearing system layers on your mesh, the regions that are more modeled than in the past, can be smoothed over for a more realistic look, including a nipples smooth and chest stretch so that tops don’t look painted on, my favourite part is that the bottom has a smooth section so pants stretch across they do not sink into.

I am also wearing as many layers as I could, freckles from this store, dimples from another, make up from different creators and a hairbase from Hair Fair by Just Magnetized that is lovely. I did not have to think about what went where, I just added and added and could be here for days just adding. So much fun, and the ability to look unique now is going to be greater.

I will do more posts in future, but the timing was perfect to do a Bom post as a last Hair Fair 2019 Post, a few days left to shop 🙂

I am so excited that I made it through all the sims with time to spare, which means I will be able to, I hope, get in some last-minute stuff before Hair Fair 2019 comes to a close this Sunday Night 1st September. It has been a whirlwind of an event, and I am so glad that so many familiar faces were able to join us this year and some newer faces that just brought their A-game and how.

No.Match made me laugh with one of their great styles being called No.System and Bake on Mesh went live this week, so now the whole grid is all about the System layers return. Both styles are gorgeous in their curly splendour, really need to rock out the curls more often, because these styles had me wanting more.

I ran to see what Liquid Moon had in store for me this year, by me I mean us, by us I mean me. But the booth was full of Male hair…I had words with the creator, nice words, kind words, but I will not lie I did pout a bit about no girls hair. HOWEVER not to be left without goodies, I tried my luck and while I was trying not to swoon all over the ads – those were some handsome looking ads – I got the Parker hair and I love it. Then to make it even girlier I added these stunning hairpieces by Lode also at Hair Fair. If you have ever visited my blog before you will know Lode is Love for me, but with the both combined, I was rocking it out, so Liquid Moon feel free to do Girls or Boys or Both in future, I will work it out.

Ade released some beautiful soft and flowy styles. The style huds give you many options and a firm favorite for me is always going to be behind the shoulders, it just makes getting dressed so much easier. I also love the behind the ear placement, I almost went full sticky outy ears with my head HUD but decided to save that for another day.

Emo-tions is blowing my mind, from elegant uppydo’s to full blown fantasy/rp looks with a little bit of casual sleek in between. Not that I am surprised really, Mirja has those mad skills, and she is also incredibly organised, you know she just makes hair, like literally just makes it and makes it and has styles backed up potentially for months. I used to announce a theme for My Attic back in the day and within hours she would already be sending me the ad for something that was not going to happen for a month. All events should have her in their rotation.

Tukinowaguma was able to set up some beautiful styles this year, also ranging from the more casual to vintage elegance. With some great options for hiding and showing tendrils and alphas in case of hair base clipping, I thought that was pretty neat. This victory rolls style is just gorgeous, and the low hanging pigtails are much fun.

On to the second part of my Noirette Region post on Hair Fair 2019. I have one row left and then I will have most of the event covered, but do plan to take another spin around, as all purchases donate a percentage to Wigs for Kids and if I am going to buy hair, then I best keep on doing so there while I can.

Hair that does lots of things is all win, and the Escalated styles at Hair Fair 2019 do lots and lots. There are style huds and different parts of the hair can hide or show, being able to hide tendrils that may clip with lashes or just your face is a great option to have. I especially love this braided style that has the interwoven ribbons and the options on how the braids sit, very cool.

Phoenix was doing some demo trickery. The demos were not the default style of the main ads, so when you put the demo on it was set to a different look straight away, this was some superior marketing, as it meant that while it was the picture that had my interest once worn I got to straight away see something else, and it was that something else that won me over in one of the styles in particular. Well played Phoenix :).

Pink Hustler always catches my eye as a store, and this style with the numerous hairclips is just too much fun and very very high on the head, that is one piled on bun, and it made me happy. The clips also have colour change options.

I am not a fan of purple, it is not all purple I dislike but the one or two that I do usually just ends up ruining it for all the others until I take a breath and then reevaluate it on its own merits – my life can be complicated. This style by Curious Kitties though won me over because the idea of laying in a bed of Lavender was just too beautiful to miss. I felt like some kind of Fairy of the Fields and who doesn’t want that.

So if you were able to see the Video that the wonderful Draxtor Despres did on Hair Fair for the Second Life Destination guide, you will have seen Mel in the wonderful windblown version of the Wasabi hair. I could not even come close to doing it the same justice, so I went with the non-windblown version that is included. Their pigtails style is adorable also with a scarf off option on the hud.

Bauhaus Movement is another accessory store that we invited to be part of the event, their beautiful headbands and headpieces really made a splash, and the gemstone one comes in two parts so you can use them together or separately with different metal options.

Analog Dog always brings the bounce to Hair Fair and this year is no exception, seriously these curls are divine. I also adore how they are named after musical terms, because it just adds that much more spring to my step.

TheMARS has made a big splash also with their male and female styles. Their braid work is heavenly, and the options that are included are just wonderful. I like the softness of the textures and the bangs options as well. The male styles are definitely also must haves.

Once upon a time a clothing and accessories creator said to me that one day she would do Hair Fair, it was the first time she had been and we were sitting together on the side of a fountain. I told her I could not wait, but I did, because that was almost a decade ago but this year Dela joined us and I am so glad that that dream came true.

I have a full row and a half of the Noirette region to feature and then I am done, but do not wait for me, get on over there and fill your coffers with wonderful styles that will all benefit Wigs for Kids when purchased.

My continuation of the Redhead Region of Hair Fair 2019, you can see the other half of the region here.  Lots to see in this post, even me ignoring the male ads and snagging the hair for myself. Everyone exploring Hair Fair just needs to try all the hairstyles, because you just never know what may rock your world.

Speaking of World Rocking, the Red Mint booth has an animated hairstyle that is just amazing, the tendrils move without you doing anything, and it is mesmerising to watch. I have made a little gif of the movement from back and front, but you need to see it yourself to believe it. It may just be a bit too choppy for WP but again try it, it is amazing.

 

Amiable always does such adorable styles, the extra short one I was just glancing at when a girl walked in and put it on I was sold, I did still demo though, but between the ad and the live model customer, it was all winning.

Astrology had me at V shaped bangs, and then went all in and gave us straight blunt bangs included versions also. What I also really liked is that you have three options of textures in various gloss/matte blends, for those that do not want too much shine in their hair this is a great idea.

Hair Studio One was the first I am not going to let a thing like Men in the ad stop me having the pretties, the mohawk braids are so cool and they do have a hairbase included that is very masculine straight razor-sharp edges etc, but with a little hairbase change it still completely works for a girl and the fit was perfect, you also get to texture change the ties at the back. The rollers are one of those items you just need to own, because one never knows when you might need them…for me the purple is jarring but that is me and my issue with purple, I do wish there were options for the rollers to change colour but still a great style to have in  your inventory.

Around the bend to Homage, this style has add on pins that are resizable and MOD. The hairstyle is also flexi greatness and also mod once purchased, so even though you can only resize the demo with the script, you can go all in once you buy it and the colours it comes in are lovely. I am using a hairbase from a previous style blogged.

Argrace has a koi pond in their booth as the floor, seriously the way stores go all in for Hair Fair always blows my mind, but this year with this booth, I just wanted to move in…I am hoping I can somehow just negotiate some keeping the insides after the event closes because it is just gorgeous in there. On top of that the hairstyles rock and I had so much fun with the tails version, the tails are actually add on attachments, and you could have fun with those forever adding them to other hairdo’s. They also all have multiple versions included with lefts and rights and behind shoulders for the longer style which is just my favourite thing.

The next picture is a combo, Volthair did this great straightish style and the headbands from Dahlia one of the accessories booths just fit perfectly in with the look. Different coloured bands are available for purchase and I just love how these can really bring a look together.

Lock & Tuft is another booth that won me over with the ads, so Monster High awesome, and again I said men’s hair, nope, I want too. The Jester style even comes with a HUD for changing the horns colours and the Cad style is just a fun shaved over combed look that was too hard to pass up, it also has an included hairbase.

KMH has all that girliness you need for hair, and the additional little bangs tuft for the pigtails style is just awesome. I love the sleek long look. There is also a great unisex style in the booth. Such a great selection of colours in the naturals pack.

Hopping over the region crossing and into the redhead region. I finished Blonde yesterday and you can find those posts, here, here and here. Redhead from the landing point is split down the middle left or right, so if you choose a direction and end in the connecting sim you need to run back across and go the other way or go to the furthest sim and wrap back around. Or start on a side region, Blonde or Noirette and then you see everything in one path following walk. Today I am showing the section that connects to Blonde or to the right from the landing point.

Zibska has joined us for as many Hair Fairs as I can remember and always does such amazing editorial styles that make you just want to class up and do them justice. The styles are all donating 100% and of the two I purchased this one is my favourite and I had to do some cam controlling to fit as much of it in the shot as I could. I am using the Revoul hairbase one of the Hair Fair releases to bring it together and the waves of the base worked so well with the style of hair. The hairbases are skin inclusive as Revoul is a skin store, but you can tint to get a good match, just go with a lighter tone than your skin is.

Vanity Hair created some floral and bobby pins adorned styles, which are fun and playful, the flowers are separate, and you can tint with the HUDs that come with the hair, the resizer button on the huds is how you can resize the hair as needed. The pigtails style is way fun and I felt very girly.

I feel Pr!tty oh so Pr!tty. Each style comes rigged or unrigged and the shorter of the two has four different bangs option, opening the style to so many great looks. The options of textures also have rootless, roots and heavy roots and as an Aussie I had to giggle way too much at that whole thing.

Cranked was the first store to set up this year, and I am so loving their Clockwork Orange looking vendors. The hat hair is all winning for me too, especially the long long ponytail style. The hats have about ten different texture options in the HUDs.

Iconic always does such beautiful styles that often have a more mature aesthetic that I love. the two styles are very elegant, and the scarf tied one not only has a great hud full  of solid or patterned options it also has the option to hide or show it.

On to the final part of my Blonde Region adventures of Hair Fair 2019. There are many more items to see, I did not include everything, and may take another spin around once all done.  I will be moving on to Redhead region next, my inventory is already fit to overflowing and I have only shopped one side.

Mello was a later entry at Hair Fair this year as they have only just recently returned to hair creation and what a splash they have made at the event. Whimsy and I had to have a knockdown fight over who got to wear Vibes – middle style –  first and it was worth it. The booth layout is awesome and the styles are everything and more.

Adoness made my morning once set up and I wandered in and found a style was called Scum, no one knows they need a hair by that name, until someone goes and names it, and both of their styles come with included hairbases and the styles are wild, I really wanted to shoot Scum as a male to see how it would look, but ran out of time, so that may need another go around or you can just try the demo yourself if you are male and let me know how it goes.

There is a unisex style that is also by DP YumYum and I did not realise I had not grabbed it, but Mel has and it looked adorable on him. The funniest thing about this great pigtails style was that a girl was trying it on in front of me, and the demo actually has the vendor image above, the girl trying it was not only dressed almost identically but looked identical, it was the coolest thing. I love the somewhat askew tails, the size of them, the textures and the soft hairline that is part of the hair itself, such a great style to have as a go-to.

F&M Oblivion wowed me with their fantastical creations, while RP is not really my thing, I can heavily appreciate how these styles will wow the crowds of those that do. So with that being said, I had to own them, and they really are majestic. The style with the scarf has an option to turn it off, which gives you a great vampiresque look, you will see what I mean when you try it. I actually wore that with a hairbase that is also from the blonde region by Avada, they have two hairbases available and I got both as you can never know what hairline look you will need for what style, and as all purchases donate to Wigs for kids, buying them now makes me happy.

I hit up Kokolores a week before Hair Fair set up, buying out the wall as I did, because one needs hair before hair fair too. Kokolores is a shorter style hair wearers dream store, she is masterful at it, and it is not an easy achievement to nail shorter styles so consistently. The shaved look tied up style is unisexy and while a shaved base is included, I can see trying different variations of bases to achieve different looks with it.

Baiastice has returned to us after some time not creating hair, she was invited back to do accessories and the two that she did are incredible, I am going to get back to those in the future, but then she blew my mind by making hat and accessory adorned styles as well, Sissy knows the way to my heart that is for sure. Chic, Classy and Glamorous they are stunners and all have texture change options for the accessories part of the styles.
