Skin Fair is approaching fast, and we have been over one full sim so far with early access as Bloggers, and you are going to have to dress for the occasion, making sure you wear appliers to quickly turn off or on as needed in a hurry, and hair that is off the face, actually just hairbases are probably better.

One of the things that the organisers did this year was request that Official Bloggers of the event cover the event OLD SCHOOL! which in the skinning world is showing as many of the details as possible in a post. It doesn’t mean you have to not do a pretty arty picture in your usual style, it just means you also need to really bring attention to the skin/s themselves.

This is how we used to blog skins before appliers were a thing, before skins were in such abundance and we used to wait months for a big skin release. There were those that did naked, there were those that shot in lingerie and swimsuits. Close ups of the faces and full length, with some major descriptions, because back then there used to be so many layer options that you had to keep track of, now with appliers you are able to turn on different uppers and lowers and add brows etc. In the olden days, you had one skin having upwards of 40 different system skins in all manner of options. It was a great way to share information with the readers, and based on what was shown, what was shared, you often got a lot more information than the demo could give. That has changed a lot now too. I have missed doing posts like that, and while not an Official Blogger for the event, I was granted early access along with SL Bloggerati members, so decided to kick it old school anyway.

League has made gorgeous Exclusives for the event (only exclusive during the event as in not sold at stores until it closes for the year).

The Alessa skin is a LeLutka applier and if you are a League customer you will notice the NEW HUD options as they have changed slightly to give you more opportunities of wear. The base skins (no makeup) have 4 Brows and a No Brows option as part of the skin. Then there are 5 Eyeshadows that are now on the eyeshadow layer, this means that you can use them not only with your League Alessa skin, but could also wear them with any other League LeLutka skin applier you may have…also due to the rerouting option on the LeLutka head, you could mix them with other options or stack as you see fit.

Then there are 5 eyeliner options, catseyes and swoosh styles that are from fine to thick and just gorgeous, they come on the eyeshadow layer also, but again rerouting means you could stack them on the tattoo layer over the shadows. Then there are these amazing glossy lip colours, they are more like liquid gloss than lipstick, and they look amazing, you can even blend them with the LeLutka HUD to soften them. I have shown a mix of the options on the HUD but you can try more with the demos.

Then you have a mix of moles or freckles with the remaining five buttons on the HUD so you have combinations that you will have a great time mixing together. There are also clear buttons on the HUD but you can do the same with the LeLutka head HUD so whichever is easier.

Because there are so many head options and shape variables, League has included an A and a B option of the Skins, they vary only slightly but depending on your head and its shape, you may prefer one over the other, but as both are included you could even use both to occasionally change your look just that little bit.

There are shapes also at the event, and some brows and lipstick options for purchase, the lipsticks also have the A and B and they really do change your look. I haven’t taken pics of those as of yet, because I got distracted by my own hotness. Well that and the lovely hair by Exile that is at Blush at the moment,  and just suited my whole mood for this post.

Then we have this lingerie that if you saw this at Frou Frou event and did not get it you need to go back it is hot hot hot. It also comes in separate pieces even though the demo is all in one, which upon reading the notecard demo I realised and that was an instant yes from me. You only have a few more days to go there, so get prepared for all the lovelies to be found.

What better way to show the skin and lingerie than a fantastic bedroom set by Cheeky Pea that is at this Mod Round of Uber. Love the linen on the bed, and this magnificent headboard, the chest of drawers is so fun also in its vintage look. It is gorgeous and such great duo tone colours for a mixed room.

So this post was a hoot to bring about, I honestly had the skeleton needing skin idea a few days ago, finally got in to make it happen, felt lonely clones myself and then ended up looking like an Album Cover. Have to love how SL Blogging can grow from a kernel of an idea into a complete tree.

So the thing of it is this, SKIN FAIR IS COMING! and I like the majority of the grid am super excited. It is an annual event spanning two sims, and has mesh bodyparts, skins, makeups, shapes and tattoos, everything you can wish for at a Skin Fair as big as this.

The event has been running for many years now, and always has such a great mix of looks and varieties of items to cater to many needs by many people, even if on a budget you are sure to find either an item to buy there and then, or to make note to put on your personal wish list for a future purchase. Like any annual fair it also enriches your knowledge of creators out there, that you may not normally be exposed to. So whether on the look out for a new skin, or any of the other options available, visit anyway, take some friends and explore all the options. The Backdrop I am using is this incredible pipes set by Paparazzi that is at this round of Shiny Shabby, we went nuts when we saw it, and the texture work is incredible for many pictures in various angles etc, I thought it was perfect for my pic, as it looks like I was part of some kind of toxic waste accident.

When I saw that Black Bantam had done Slink Pointe/Deluxe feet Ballet Sneakers I got so excited. They are part of their adorable release for this round of The Arcade, and not only are they great to look at, they are tintable, which means the colour options are pretty much unlimited, and you can actually change independent parts so that you can create a mixed look.

I thought about the type of picture I wanted to do, and was thinking about how there are so many girls out there that want to dance, have dancing running through their souls 24/7 but may just have to also do boring day jobs to afford dance classes, but even while emptying the trash or reloading some stock, there is a moment in which dancing cannot be turned off.

Mixing them with the great new bodysuit by Blueberry, and the denim shorts that fit snuggly over them (using the tucked in option of Bodysuit) I was definitely ready to blow this popstand and dance my buns off, my blueberry buns.

I went to Uber the other night, got in first try (YAY PREMIUM) stood in the new layout and rolled my eyes upwards to my linden balance…oh goodness you are going to be used tonight. What a theme, what an event, what a hell of a lot of items now grace my inventory.

I took a break at one point to TP Ashia Tomsen of Inventory Episode over as she had already been but missed some much needed (we believe fully in peer pressure shopping in our group) items. All in all I was there an hour and a half, and got home and collapsed. Then Ashia said I could now unpack what I bought…I am still laughing.

Make up by Veechi is so perfect for giving that wide eyed Twiggy look, the hair by Tram is just divine, and the top I am wearing by Vinyl is the most adorable cropped collar top. Because fashion has a twenty year turn around, the 60’s came calling when I was in my teens in the 80’s a gorgeous mix of punk and mod prevailed and it was really visible in the rude girls of the time. This skirt by Tres Blah comes in some great colours for purchase as singles, but there are other options in the fatpack of which I had to get.

Then the boots, so adorable, so cute, so shagadelic. All parts of them change colour with the great HUD and so many options to create your own fun looks. I loved this theme, I think that it needs to be the theme for the rest of the year forever and always.

Many stores have been around for a long time in Second Life, and one of the ones that stands out in a crowd for me at events with a more Adult theme is Dictatorshop. They have been a foundation in the Adult community for over a decade now and while they do still have a firm hold on the Adult and D/s market, they also make incredible pieces that can be incorporated into your home and not always with an Adult leaning. We are able to in some pieces purchase PG versions of their work and when their work is this good, it is definitely worth a visit to their store.

I truly fell for the Chesterfield sets, as in RL to have such decadence in the home is a big deal, like sharing a few special craftsman with the Queen kind of big deal. The set comes in different colour leathers and the option to change the metal of the buttons, and it is just so divine. The stool is awesome as well, the handles on the sides to pull it into place and all those rivets along the base, I love this to pieces. There is also a sofa and amazing bench and chair. If you are looking for the perfect pieces for your Den or Library in your Manor home these are the bliss you have been searching for.

I went to the very beautiful event The Trunk Show the other day, and was running around from room to room feeling delightfully girly. The build is just lovely, and the items from all the creators really give you a great sense of the Wedding type theme. However do not think that if you are not getting married you should not attend, because there are great items to use in all sorts of ways.

Pairing the Dakota Lace Bustier by Narcisse with this form hugging skirt by Just Because. With it I have a formal look that can be worn outside of a Bridal party, or depending on the colour chosen and the kind of lower half, you can really create some unique looks. The jewellery is so special also, delicate pieces and the hairsticks worked out perfectly for this lovely updo by Exile. The hair actually also has a floral attachment, but as it is a separate piece that makes it a great hair foundation for different accessories you may choose.

Make sure you visit The Trunk Show and find some lovely pieces to fill our your wardrobe for either your own special day, or a friends, or just to amp up your formal style, because to have one location share on that dressier theme is a nice way to spend your afternoon.

I was having a great time coming up with an idea on how to really highlight these great new shoes by Mutresse. They are beautifully adorned with metal embellishments that have the option of metal colours to choose from, as well as the individual parts of the shoes, so you can mix or keep to one colour, it is up to you.

I found the right post, and the right angle, and then realised that someone else could possibly be enjoying the look of them too, but maybe secretly. Bringing over this lovely tea-house and then filling it with some delightful pieces by Cheeky Pea it became the perfect space for a peeper to get his shoe fetish on.

The Icon lingerie by Blueberry has the perfect colour option to match to the one chosen in the shoes, and is lacy enough without being revealing and oh so sexy. There is a matching clutch to the shoes, and just the right size to keep some essentials close at hand.

My favourite thing for the layout was the outdoor pergola by Cheeky Pea that I rezzed inside the Tea-house, then adding some beautiful pieces from some recent and past releases. It worked out like some of those bungalow type locations in beautiful destinations in old films.

I am also wearing the gorgeous new skin by YS&YS that I wore the other day, but ended up covering up with Geisha makeup. So pretty with many options of brows, no brows, subtle eye-shadows and lipsticks. It is at the current round of The Chapter Four.

The hair I am wearing is a new release by Phoenix Hair. The braided top pulled back and then let loose to frame the face is just gorgeous. I am wearing it with a great hairbase by Just Magnetized and they work really well together. You really do need a hairbase with this style, though because of alpha stuff it is great that this hair is not only good looking but mod, sometimes the alpha in hair can cause an issue with a hairbase, but if you do as I did – Go into edit on the hair, choose edit linked parts, select the strands with alpha, and then go to the alpha blending mode in the texture tab and change the blending mode, you can also make the individual strands vanish entirely if that works for you too.

So a big yay for keeping hair mod, and a big yay for this really beautiful style hair!

The past few days I kept thinking about the stunning Bento (non Bento versions also included) Icon Angel Wings by Blueberry. I thought of all these really cool ideas, about how I could make them look transparent with Photoshop and have it seem like people are Angels amongst us…that I could have semi transparent people with wings holding the hand of a child walking down a path, you know how your mind can go off in so many directions, but you may not be able to give it all as much justice as you want to.

Then along came the Keely harness by Narcisse for this next Bound Box about to hit the grid, and all the purity went flying out the window. Or off a cloud, or rolled down some really long stairs, you know how it is. Now of course because this leathery delight is all baring, I had to go my usual Sasy Modesty route and find what would work under it – I am responsible for some hilarious cover ups over the years, and then also some bizarrely inspired add ons, but I digress.

I grabbed a hold of Ashia, who came on a run around with me before dinner, and while I did not find what I wanted I did end up hitting up Sn@tch’s appliers wall with gusto, you blink and that brand just adds a whole new wall of delights to catch up on.

I logged back in and found what I needed on Marketplace, ever notice the wheels on your shopping cart in Marketplace never stray off in another direction but still end up costing you more than you intended to spend. I do try more often to visit the actual stores if there is one, as I like to immerse in the shopping experience, but sometimes you are on a posestand and just need a quick stretch and click and done.

I got the perfect full body latex catsuit, that has all layers as options, and with the great mesh work on the harness, the fit was great. You have to often be careful with appliers layers not always fitting perfectly under mesh especially with the chest area, as the layers go up you have the applier brought away from the body, so if you don’t have an underwear or tattoo option you may end up with clipping. But there was the perfect amount of give with the Keely harness and I was well on my way.

I had the wings, oh so incredible, they are luxurious and the movement is amazing. The texture options are divine, there are just so many reasons to get them, especially considering that for many of us after 5 or so years in SL we stop flying, we need to embrace the flight people.

I really wanted something to bring this all together, and this headdress by Death Row Designs worked and so much so that the hair by Phoenix worn under it seemed made for the look. The options in this great hair have a few different bangs types, one of which is a braid along the hairline that just nestles perfectly with the barbed wire and all the other parts of the headdress. I wanted something makeup wise that would also make you stop and look and this Geisha Classic tattoo layer applier for the LeLutka head is just perfect. This is the full coverage with the white powder effect, there are also only lipstick, only eyeshadow and both combined as options, so definitely great value, there is also a goth version you can purchase, but I wanted to get some colour in there.

You need to make sure you get your Bound Box subscription in before the price goes up once delivery starts, because this harness alone is a great item to have, the leather work is amazing and the colour options will have you wanting more.

SL Bloggerati was invited to Early Access at Fetish Fair that is now open and a GLORIOUS event. I had to go twice just to be sure I did not miss something, and will definitely go back before it is over. A truly great coming together of some Fetish inspired items, some a bit lighter, and some great Adult only type items. There is something for most everyone. I got covered from head to toes and back again, so if you are looking to up the yowza on your wardrobe definitely attend.

Wonderful accessories to get your mitts on, and I saw a lot of things that catered to both genders, so that is all win for the guys. Hair a plenty, clothing as miniscule and as all encompasing as it can be. The bodysuit with legging boots was a must have, it comes with many options of reveiling and more covered up, as shown. The legging boots are standalone, so you can just wear the bodysuit or just wear the pants. The colours were too awesome to choose from so ALL ended up in my inventory. The bare arms worked out great, as that gave me the chance to wear my new Starlet Bento gloves by Maddict.

I saw today that it is Mina’s Birthday – Happy Birthday Mina! and she has asked all to like her Facebook page in preparation for some kind of surprise, but I think you should do that anyway, as her hairstyles are divine, and you want to keep track of what is going on, if you have a FB account. The three styles shown are from different events, but all definitely worth the TP’s. The shorter style is two tone, as in split down the middle left and right, but you can do the same colour on both sides as I have, the options are yours. The braided style is a stunner and has options of tendrils with a styling option on the HUD, and the fuller style has options of left and right parting with breast sizing to cater to different bodies.

This middle dress was a drop jaw on the floor for me thing. Firstly not see are some incredibly tiny panties with chain straps that fits gloriously under the dress. You can change the chain metals as you can on the shoulder straps of the dress, then you have a harness you can also wear under the dress, or with just the panties. Then the options of colours, latex or matte, but the specials if you fatpack – so had to fatpack – are glomesh and the materials are just WOWZA. This dress will have all the boys in the yard wanting to know where they can get it for their partners :).

Make sure you visit the event, the layout is wonderful and I just loved that it is a huge F sim shape.

I have a friend in me, well two actually. So the other day we went shopping, how unusual right. Ashia of Inventory Episode and Whimsy Winx of Virtually Dressed, we were tping all over with our SL Bloggerati tags on. So we went to Kustom9 and Ashia starts foaming at the mouth, calling me over when I was so not done with that side of the room yet, so she had to wait. She is at the SAGA booth and I am all like MEOW how cool and she is all like PANTS…so I see what she is seeing, and honestly, E-Clipse might just need to send over a bottle of Champers and some BonBons to Christel Morane. So doing some sleuthing, and all my sleuthing skills have grown over the years by the tutelage of Whimsy, the girl is an internet Bloodhound. I found out where the pants were from because the lovely Christel actually put the info on her ads Flickr page information, YAY Christel! and ok not so much sleuthing really.

I continued to have Ashia wait though, finished the walls, and then we went to Saga first, because that is how you say thank you for wearing pretty pants in your ads for other things, you shop first at the shower of the goodies, also her goodies were awesome as well. So I tpd over and hot damn, seriously her build and store layout is top notch, the girl has some mad skills. then went shopping, to the left, to the right of the left, to the middle, and to the right, then the left of the right and back to the middle, did I get everything I wanted, I think so.

Then it was off to the PANTS! But we did not plan for the whole store to be jam-packed full of tantalizing delights, you see I see them at events, and I have purchased at events, but like all event releases, sometimes you miss some, and sometimes you just do not see what gets released at their stores, that is why we try to stop shop often. However, it had been a while, and honestly while I did try and search my inventory to see what I already had, I gave up on that as it was just costing me time, and I had shopping to do, so while Ashia was running ahead (again) and Whimsy was just all over the place, the girl loves to weave shop, drives me bonkers. I started on the left and went up and down each aisle and that store does not fatpack, so I literally had pain in my right hand once I was done, from all the clicking.

Now the pants are the middle ones, and while I did also get the black, the sand was just delightful and well I would feel bad if I wore the black before Ashia. Plus with the combo of this incredible hat, and these awesome sandals beaded feet attachments thingies, both by Saga I was really feeling my urban bohemian mix, and then it just turned into this kind of music festival, live gig look of girls, with different kind of music tastes, which was really fun to do. Also the great choker, no seriously just go buy it all. The hat has a resize option and so I was able to fit it over this beautiful hair by Exile, and that of course lead to more beautiful hairs by Exile. Mixing the cropped hoodie top by Blueberry into the fold and an applier top…now interestingly the strings on the top clipped the applier, because I am wearing it on the clothing layer so it is worn away from the cleavage, so I did have to alter the join of my cleavage to be closer together so the strings would right themselves, so if you ever do have things like that happen, play with the join or the gravity of your breast shapes, it really helps.

For my spacey look, the pants and the boots are so funky, and the amazing thing is that all the trim work is actual mesh, not just texture on there, that was amazing to see as it rezzed in. I teamed it up with this fabulous top that is actually a bra top from the recent Lingerie release by Vinyl but definitely needed to get some outy attention, not just inny, with of course the Meow collar that started the whole shopping extravaganza. Lastly, this shirt, come on how can you resist it, it is plaid, it is oversized, it is tuxedo tails styled, and the collar is up, I am way too cool. It was paired up with jeans at the store, but these shorts I definitely wanted to give a run, and the belt on them is just perfect. Speaking of belts, we lack those in SL now, just thought I would put that out there.

The other day SL Bloggerati was fortunate to get some Shiny Shabby access, and it is a great thing for Bloggers to do a practice run of events, it gives us a chance to shop quickly, but also let people know if things seem strange, prices, vendors not working, items not in the correct bags etc…it has always been that way for us, to make sure we let people know if something is up, a good team effort between Bloggers and Designers and Event Coordinators, so if you ever do get early access to an event, make sure you pay attention to those kinds of things and let the right people know as soon as you can. The layout now is so spacious and easy to maneuver, I like the wide aisles and I really like the huge box booth styles, it just makes it easier to shop, and much easier to set up for stores I am sure.

Minimal has some great Gachas at the event, and I got this great countertop cafe booth, and it was perfect for this pic, because these days it is not an event without food trucks and pop up cafes all over the place. My only mention about the Gachas and it did not bother me too much because I use my VR Studio HUD and Library and Posestand for everything I do, would not function without them, but the backdrops are no MOD, and while that is ok with things that are actually behind you, having stools in them or any seating kind of look it would be cool if they were mod to be able to either add poses to them, or even shift them around the space, I understand gacha means no copy, but some of us are ok with the risk, and the no gacha ones at another event are also no mod.

This dress is so much of everything to me right now. It needed no alpha use at all, it fit snug in the right places and loose where it needed to be, and falls beautifully about the body. The texture is lovely, giving it a sheen when it needs it, and a more casual look if that is your approach. I went with three looks for the dress, a night time date look, a daytime casual playful look and an up market ladies who lunch, and shop, and lead by example look.

The dress is by NYU and it was worn with a sweater under in an ad, so there is even more versatility right there. I was really feeling the hair by #Foxy today, and went through some of the styles I grabbed late last year, one of which I have featured in the past behind the shoulders, but this time went with the one side forward look, and it really is a charming hairstyle.

The shoes really enhanced the looks also. The Ballet slippers by Slink are actually updated to be Deluxe compatible if you ever purchased the Margot shoes in the past, go redeliver. You can wear them with any height feet you own, even if single feet types, but for the Deluxe it is great as you have all five looks. You can also turn off the ribbons and make them more casual, but I was feeling my Girly Girl with the pink, so left them on.

The other shoes are by Breathe. The middle Katashi shoes are so attractive, with the wooden heels, and the ability to change the front straps from the upper, I went with all one colour for this look though, but you can change them. The Miyako heels are seriously fierce footwear. The strapping has colour change options, and they have a really cool military vibe to them, making the fluffy vest and slip dress just a great contrast.

I invited a little play date along for the post. The golden Pomeranian by Half Deer is at this round of Epiphany, he is just too cute, and obviously the kind of pet that suits my outfit.
