It never rains at Hair Fair
What a day, so Whimsy and I went over to Paper Couture to see the newness again, ended up tping in a whole slew of people from Fashion Emergency which was fun. Then when we were done we went walkabout.
Sofia a while back told us that we just had to go to Ooh La La and I had not had the chance until today. I guess with missing Mel so much it was time to be all girly girl and prepare for his return. This lingerie by Nylon Pinkney is incredible, the textures used, the detailing, all of it is true to the exceptional quality she always produces. The awe factor doesn’t stop there though, the prices are incredible, this is lingerie you will dream about, at a price that will allow you to go and add all the other bits and pieces you may need. Champagne quality at beer prices.
I am again wearing some of the stunning Paper Couture shoes, and there is so much more to love since I worked out they are modify with help from a clued up friend lol. I am going to try my hand at moving the bows to the solids lol stay tuned – if you attempt this make copies first – All of the hair that I am wearing in the first pic is by the lovely Man Lady Bubbles Clawtooth, he was an absolute joy to spend small moments with during setting up at the fair, so fun and vivacous. Clawtooth by Clawtooth hair is every vintage loving girly girls dream store, so to team the three together for pics was a no brainer.
Next pic is me channeling Anya, lol. The hair she has created for OhMai Salon is just adorable and everything you would expect by such a talent. I am so glad that she wanted to be a part of this years fair, there were so many creators this year that came back to making hair, or launched their new lines, its always been a tradition at Hair Fair to do this, and we have always kept those people a secret unless otherwise prompted. We always take that part of being on the committee very seriously, if a designer wants to launch at the fair, we do all we can to make sure that they get to do that…funny how that works, but we are always so honored at the trust in us to do so.
Anyways, rambling, the hairstyles that Anya released are so unspoiled and carefree, the colour names are a classic, and I could not resist wearing fanta, mmmmmmmmfanta. If these styles are her first foray back into hair, then I for one am way too excited about what she will reveal once she reopens her store in a few months. The skins I am wearing in the second and third pic are Tess2 by LAQ and soooo cute. Fresh faced and innocent me lol. They come in all the usual beautiful tones, with gorgeous make ups, and you can of course now get the brow and hair base add ons seperately to enhance your experience. DEMO DEMO DEMO.

Ok so the asset servers are playing silly buggers. I have taken back to inventory the same boxes about 12 times now, I gave up as they weren’t going there anyway, just vanishing, so now I am just dragging them out of the way, it looks like a delivery truck overturned outside my door. Actually I could totally do that, because I am so in love with the NotsoBad rezzer that I keep it out full time at the moment.
As fun as SL can be during times of nothing working, it is unfortunate for those that have had plans made, a date set etc. Tuli announced last week that today would be the much anticipated release of her Eva skins. So far, not a peep out of Tuli as she is probably trying to tackle opening her new build and releasing of her new products, not just the skins.
The skins come in seven beautiful tones, from very pale to dark dark tan, and with a blend of make ups that compliment all. The brow options vary from tone to tone, as some wont work on all…but all that info is very clear when purchasing, and you can always check edit, or demos to find out if the brows you are after are part of that tone package. Eva also has a lovely full cleavage option, that just cries out for attention, so don’t be wearing the b version and covering them up, that just wouldn’t be fair.
Preparing this post I got to fall in love with all sorts of items, I mentioned the other day that Sabina Gully of Magika had been training up her sculptie techniques, and one of the outcomes of that is the hat hair on the right of the first pic. A beautiful loose beanie style but with a lovely rich texture that doesn’t make it too wintery, and is colour/texture change on click.
Most of the clothing today is also featured at Clothing Fair, either RFL items or just regular, and the fair is still going strong, I popped over earlier today, and the crowds are having a great time. I love the semi casual to dressy pieces being released at the moment, depending on how you add to them, they can be fun for running around in, or going out in.
That is definitely the case for the clothing released by Elate recently. The Kaia dress is perfect for slipping on and taking off – by taking off I mean going about your day :P. The two tone stripes give you ample opportunity with accessorising them, and using one of both colours as compliments to the look. I could totally wear these over a fav pair of jeans too.
Another LOVE LOVE LOVE is the gorgeous Mermaid set jewelry from Biensen & Maitai , this is a set to be had by all fishy lovers, pisceans which is now by the way, and just fans of all things water related. I love this necklace and earrings combo, and the image on both is just beautiful.
Next up another big love – don’t you just love that show, it spins me out, but it is fab – are the Alex skirts , again by Elate. This is a MUST HAVE staple for the remainder of the year, the kind of item you have on hand in your go to folder, as the style and the fit is perfect. Not only is it high waisted, but the belt is superb, and even with a long top over it, covering the high part, the belt can be worn as a cinch and just enhance the whole look… bravo Kellie on this one.
Changing into some beautiful hairstyles from Tiny Bird. Autumn has really been producing some really feminine styles lately – not that she doesn’t usually – but these have a little something extra in the girly girl department of twin sets and cameos for sure.
The rest of the Jewelry is by Addict, Kianna has updated all of her necklaces and made them colourchange, so if you were oooing and ahhing in the past, but didn’t follow through, now is the time. The doll necklace has always been a fav of mine, and now I can make it match a variety of looks when I want.
Boots Boots Boots, the Prestige ones have been featured here before, and the choice of either leather or suede is a hard one, but as you do get so much wear out of them, it is more to do with what colours will best enhance your wardrobe. The leather option is just perfect in the brown version, and I did make lots of squeely noises when I went from the skirts to the Trek outfit from Nyte n Day. How gorgeous is that safari look dress. Just going to show that thats two outfits in the same day that I get the use of the camel colour.
I adore the trek dress, it is just gorgeous, and I was able to cheat and use the lower portion of it as a skirt with the new Boyfriend Racerback Tanks by OhMai. Be careful of those, Miss Anya Piglet made them sheer so you will need to wear a bra or the other fab layers to cover up – or not – the split sides and back of these are just perfect, it is funny how when you see something done so well, like side splits on a top, that you realise you don’t see them that often.
Keep your eyes and ears peeled for the announcement that Eva is released, as the skin is just beautiful and I can see it fast becoming a default skin for many.

The other day I did a post containing one item from a store I had gunfire speed shopped at in the past, thing was that was only their satelite store – yay for satelites – last night Whimsy and I went to the main, and did some serious hardcore shopping lol.
Not only did we want everything in the store, I think I got most of it…but we were actually really admiring the build itself, also done by the creator behind the brand. Then wandering out into the courtyard, we found satelites of some very familiar brands, and some not so familiar to us ones.
We ran back and forth, from store to store – I ran Whimsy cheated with that double click move to thing she has in her Emerald Viewer – we wove back and forth, even going back to the original more than once…it was one of those really enjoyable shopping experiences.
We returned to The Deck and it seems we made an impact because a lady landed moments later who had been at the place we had just left , which was awesome. I have had such luck with the very 70’s sporty stripe look this week, I got some dresses the other day that were just like ones I had as a kid, and last night I got these so sexy skirts and shorts.
The skirts not only come on pants and underpants layers, but also jacket, YES that means glitchless so that you can wear your own cute spankies or panties. Mind you I don’t think spankies would fit under those skirts. Mixing all the pieces with some new items from LeLutka, in the Subvert the Office Shirt – chuckles because Marni Grut really knows how to name things – I did remove the prim cuffs for these as they were a bit too much for the look.
Some old and new Miseria pieces, I love when Miseria releases newness, I am so girl crushing all up on her vendor pics, seriously I have said it before, she has the CUTEST look. Luckily for me and everyone else, she also has the CUTEST clothing.
Some fab new hair from Magika, that Sabina woman is a demon when it comes to releasing consistently wonderful hair, every other day practically there is a release and she weaves in and out of all sorts of looks and styles, it is great. These two new ones are short bob styles, that can look both cutesy and classy, it depends on what you wear them with.
I was definitely channeling my inner aussie in the top picture, other aussies will know what I mean, and it isn’t just the thongs. I am wearing the Newish Belleza skin Alyson in all of the pics, in all of the tones. Subtle differences in some of them, but from pale to deep tan there is a lovely transition.
Very kissable lips, more cutesie as a face overall for my shape at least. I found it interesting that the skins with more make up looked younger, than the ones without which is often the reverse, but I really liked that you can still find a little smolder in there.
New to me, and the prices show there is some growth happening for J.Tonic. They have a satelite store at My Pinkie Skulls and the hair in that store is only 75L a colour, tping to the main after buying some there, we went to see more and found that they have changed to packs instead of singles now at a different price, so if you like scene hair, grab the deals that can still be found. Mind you the pack price is very reasonable anyway. So either way NEW hair , and maybe for you too a New store to buy out.

Hair can lead to all sorts of lovelies.
True is that when the other day I was captivated by this hair and other goodies at the store. My favourite portion had to be the discount wall, not just because it was in fact a bargain, but because the items there made me happy.Other things that make me happy are system skirts, and it is rare to see one used in it’s full blown state, like this one is. The shading and technique used to pull this off is marvelous, and just the right length and billow for this style to be perfectly wearable with other items. Anya does it again with this dress, that can also be turned into a fun romper when you remove the skirt.
The bargain I got at Fab.pony was actually the leggings, Zebra is so much fun as a print, especially if you like your monochrome bases. I wear a lot of black and white and all the in betweens. I do like to throw in colour splashes, but there is just something so fun about getting a look together with those.
Oo La La’ing all over the Shade Throne accessories on the left. How hot is that bag, I mean woah. I love the stuff that comes out of Undo’s fingertips, she is incredibly talented in an off kilter, not running the same road way. If you like the unusual you really need to check out her sunglasses, they are some of the most daring styles I have ever seen.
Accesorries on the right are some oldies from Dark Mouse, in the zebra print. Also featuring the Sissi short loose pearls, this is such a cute necklace, I have it in the long as well, the ends of the strand feature a silver cross, that has a rosary like look to it.
All rebels wear the rosary right? it sure as hell worked for Madonna way back in the day lol. The rebel I am referring to is not just me, but the style of make up I am wearing in the Brooke skin from 5th & Oxford. Stunning and dramatic eye make up, with shades of lippy perfect for a night on the town.
The whole title Rebel is so dreamy. It always makes me think James Dean, or for that matter the 70’s 80’s equivelant Matt Dillon…he so was, you know it. So when you think of Rebel you think vintage, or at least I do…so the Ingenue flats were a given for this look, dancing till dawn in 6″ heels can sometimes take it’s toll, so you need some beautiful flats to tear around in the next day… and Betty Doyle now making shoes is going to be exciting to watch.

Thora wanted Flashdance, so I scoured the grid, and I got her Flashdance. Well the best I could do in the late hours as it was. Imagine if stores in SL had real retail hours *gasps*. I love it actually, since I typed that I just had a ten minute convo about it with Whimsy.
Imagine if for every 24 hours they were broken into two 12 hour lots, and those were broken into 8 plus 4. Imagine also if it was a LL ruling that everyday your store could only operate in one 8 hour slot, and had to be manned by you or a registered business partner. I love the idea of this, the concept of having to get to the store on time, or it will be closed for 16 hours just like RL. Also the idea that you would wait for stores to open and run in and be seen to by the creator behind the products.
Imagine the four hour gaps too, when no retail business could operate, there would be clubs and social areas only, so people would plan events again. I love the idea of running home after your shift, and having to get ready in the outfit you tpd over and grabbed during your lunch break that day lol.
Ok I could come up with scenarios with this concept forever. But moving on, Thora created a stunning curly style named Jeniffer after the sexiest 70’s Jen of them all Jeniffer Beals. This hair is gorgeous, and if you are a curly hair fan this one is for you. The style will be released at some stage today…and the new textures as stated before are just stunning.
I saw this movie when I was in 5th class, a school excursion where I really think that the teachers had no idea how adult the movie was going to be. I remember the strobe light scene and all the kids in my class pretending to move like robots because it looked even cooler. One of my greatest days as a kid…and tonight I got to revisit it with this hair .
Don’t forget it is only due to the fabulous VR Foundry Professional Posestand and HUD that I am able to do the ‘more than one of me’ pics, I would never survive without it.
Also what’s not to love, I managed a stripper pole AND Body oil in this post, I think I have outdone myself this time, by the way the oil is on the outside due to it being wet – just so you know I am aware how to layer :P.

Oh Oh Oh OooH Oh Oh
The release is fast approaching, the show featuring the latest releases from Anya Ohmai was such a huge success. Not just because of the production and new items; but also because watching someone emerge from; an up until then creator of more casual styles, into one of true glamor was a delight.
The Silhouettes collection was awe inspiring, but then so far everything Anya has done has done that. Myself IMing her at the opening of The Deck to tell her her avatar was adorable, to then her being everywhere. Her creations, blogging, art work and visual presentation has been captivating to say the least.
My favourite thing about this collection, is not just it’s overall sleekness, that of course is wonderful. But it is the ability to interchange many of the pieces, and if not with themselves then definitely with others. I got to speak to Anya a little bit before the show, and she really pushed herself for this collection, being showcased at the LeLUltra Show by LeLutka would be nerve wrecking for even the most seasoned Second Life Designer, and she nailed it.
Hats are going to be more popular too this coming year, big hats, small hats…sedate and over the top hats, Whimsy is going to love 2010 because it is going to be the accessories year for sure.
Soccer Mums in your SUV’s get out of the way, because my darlings Glamor is back..and 2010 is going to be it’s year.

At a few minutes before the hour of midnight last night, Arabella, Ashia and I tpd around like crazy women, to try and get to all the 50L friday items. We managed I think to get most of them before Ashia had to leave…it is always so hard to spend the right hours together with everyone living all over the world.
The last few days I have been sleeping almost like an aussie, it’s been shocking to the system. Mel doesn’t sleep like an american, Whimsy doesn’t sleep much at all, Ashia is always up extra late for a pom, and Arabella burns the candle at both ends in NZ.
It is now 8am and I still haven’t slept, but I had a great time nattering with the masses in FE today, and having Whimsy be mean to me, yes yes she was a meany bum. Yesterday much earlier in the day I was sooooooooo cranky, that the girls had to deal with me grumbling as we shopped, and then I got to BP* and I was in a glorious mood, because I found the ultimate in vintage jeans love….actually it was a denimpaloooza, not only did I find the jeans of Yum, but also the Gaucho denim pants of Yummyness too.
The flared back of the jeans is just wonderful with inbuilt ruffles in gingham they made me squeel with delight. You get three options of colour in the pack, but really can you go past red for your gingham. I was also overjoyed that it went perfectly with the Summer Breeze dress top portion that I was wearing yesterday in yellow, in the red which I had also bought…I was a happy bumblebee, the fact that Anya has used the system skirt for the bottom of this is awesome.
The top half of me was taken care of in full by OhMai today, not just the top of the dress for with the jeans, but also the lovely cami and vest..the vest is the type of open look that goes with just about everything, dressier pants or a slimline skirt, it will all work really well. Sometimes you just have to get your denim groove on, and today was my day to do so.

Buzzzzz
Buzzing all over SL with Whimsy and Ashia. Whimsy took me to a store, then I took her to a store, then we both took Ashia to a store and yeah, it’s like that lol. I really liked the look I ended up with , picking up pieces to add to bits I bought yesterday and the day before.Who wouldn’t love pants called Pudding, regardless of the name being so awesome, the pants are fabulous, and come in a great colour range…and the price is nutso. Paradisis has recently relocated and their new build is woah..and the gardens of the main building are just delightful. So much so that with all that black and yellow, I felt right at home today.
The top I am wearing is actually part of the Summer Breeze dress from OhMai, I really loved the bright sunshiney colour of the dress, and am so happy that it’s styled so well to get wear out of it as a top as well.
Dahlinks does some fabulous Jewelry, so the other day when I saw that they had newness I made a mental note and today dragged Whimsy over to get some of the wonderful Chloe back knotted beads, I got these ones and the other set also, one set was scripted to resize these ones however are no mod and not scripted, so if you have an issue with that be aware.
With the New and super fabulous Esprit XTD by Maitreya Gold, I was able to combine the Noir bases with the Lemon accents, and painted my toenails the same lemon colour , woohoo I love these shoes.
The skin I am wearing is from Vive 9, the other day I was talking to Athena Loring of Miseria about how incredible she looks in her vendor ads, and she mentioned that her skin was from Vive 9, so Ashia got me the info and I went by there last night and got the fat pack of the Miranda skin, they are really adorable faced skins, the body is different than I am used to, but for the price it was a crazy if I didn’t moment.
All of the skins at Vive 9 are very character based, and so many to look at, so grab all the demos go home and really take the time to check out each one, there are also two boxes of gift skins on the small table in the centre of the room.

Taste the Rainbow
She came, she saw, she kicked it. Seriously Anya OhMai is another reason to love all that Second Life offers. Starting SL in march of this year, she has absolutely nailed it, starting as an enthusiastic fashion lover, to blogger, to designer in such an incredibly short amount of time.
Sofia IM’s me yesterday and told me I was going to get a delivery, and I did, in the form of a multitude of incredible colours and styles. That quickly followed by a TP to the OhMai main store where I proceeded to buy up the rest of it. The colours are the first thing you notice, arranged in beautiful packs at ridiculously low prices. Staples are the first thing that comes to mind, there are so many Must Have items in there, it’s insane.My first new addiction are the sheer leggings, they stop just below the heel, making them super fabulous, and they are not only semi sheer , but RIBBED. There are a variety of colour packs, that all blend so well with everything in the store.
The Catherine blouse I am wearing is a new item in the OhMai store, it is definitely fabulous in it’s somewhat Chanel look, and a FANTASTIC use of the system skirt, you know how much I love it when people put it to such a great use as this one.
The black and white combo, with the accessories from Glow Studio’s is a definite winner, the Seasons Bag Winter bag is a great carryall, for extra shopping of Must Have items.
Could the Emma Ruffles dress be more adorable, I don’t think so. I mean first off when I put it on I had the without white skirt portion and I was in love with it, then I realised there was another skirt choice, and I squeeled. Not only again do they go with the wonderful leggings, but I only wore the sock portion of one pair, and it’s too funna. Seriously with this colour palette that Anya is using , you can literally “taste the rainbow” :P.
Three years ago now, when Fiachra of Essentia was making the hair roses, we absolutely loved the Pink Hawaiian rose , and now I have the perfect way to wear it. The thumbelina dresses are so creative and just delicately beautiful. They would make perfect Fae wear, but the style and grace of these dresses makes them just incredible cocktail dresses for all.There are actually two skirt options in these too, but I loved the bloom ones, and what’s not to love in a formal dress that turns into swimwear, because we all know what can happen at those upmarket occasions when the press go home.
Due to the limits of the mesh and clothing layers, in the past we were unable to get a lot of shape out of our clothing, that has changed a lot with the implementation of sculpted prims, and OhMai has been pushing that envelope.The Nina Sweaters give you the best little bubble butt ever. The shape and style of these oversized sweaters is fabulous, the extra detailing in the pockets and buttoned sleeves, as well as the adorable hoody attachment at the back. Again because of the design in these sweaters, you are able to wear contrasting or complimentary colours underneath, to tie it all in.
I am wearing the High Rise tanks with these , and believe me when you see the prices of the packs of these, you will think Anya has lost her marbles. But then you can be overly appreciative, because it free’s up more money for everything else in the store lol.
Lastly and one of the reasons it all came about, as Sofia fell for this beautiful Pocket Cardigan and who can blame her, I must have grabbed everyone of those as well, the colours, shape and overall idea of them is marvy, they have a definite vintage look to them, and I am so all into that.
Wearing them over the high rise tanks, and bringing it all together with the Mo Pocket pants from Miel, these pants I have shown in the past, but they definitely deserve to keep on returning, another fantastic use of prims to enhance the whole look.
All of the hair I am wearing today is from KC, Kitsune Couture, a store now owned by Niennra Kitsune of Magika fame. Niennra branched out on her own recently, and has been creating hair and clothing under her own label, so make sure you check out her new items. One of the styles shown is actually a gift from her Subscribo , so make sure you join that when you visit.
The shoes are all from Tesla, and I was blessed to find that her colour palette range, as much as it varies from style to style, allowed for some great matchy matchy colours with the OhMai range. Still loving the Carina skin by LAQ I kept it on for this post, to give you another taste, just in case you didn’t already go and demo it yet.
