Garden Tea Party
Quickies I never succeed at doing, but I have to try.
Tea Lane recently became such due to the rebranding of Teagan and Laynie’s stores and yes it took me until now to get the name thing.
They have worked hard, and in doing so they even made a New Residents dollarbie store in the process with older items of theirs, so keep your look out for that too.
The items shown today are a mix of Tea Lane and Tuli, with others thrown in for prettyness. I have always been a citrus fan, lemons, limes and oranges make me happy. While putting together this outfit though, the old blah blah of ‘blue and green should never be seen, without a colour in between’ came to haunt me, and seriously I don’t usually care, but in this case it ended up a great way to add more citrus.
The Elsa sweater in jade is from Tea Lane and is a snuggly knit with a lovely large turtle neck collar. Going with the Dark Denim Sumi Jeans from Tuli with the adorable little strawberry patch at the back, the shading on these is excellent and I love the whole vintage feel of the Sumi range, for me it’s reliving being little and trailing after my very fashionable mummy – she is a shorty though, so even if she had kept her stuff id have capris not jeans lol.
The in between ended up being one of the Cameo Gem belts in Lemon from Digit Darkes, handy how that happened so easily :P, I’m pretty sure I chose the colours for that one, so that worked out in my favour. Getting a chance to revisit the Frenzy heels from Maitreya in the beautiful rich green, I love these shoes and right now there are retro inspired ones in the main store also.
Big smooches to TRUTH for making the new Babyhoney style hair that has an adorable beanie/bandana look, but not only because the style is gorgeous but because the texture change selection was spot on perfect in the green, so much so I wear it twice today.
With this look I am wearing one of the Tea Lane mod skins in Maple tone called Mabel, a lovely burnt orange make up and a beautiful tone, they have so many skins at Tea Lane, you really need to DEMO DEMO DEMO them all.
Going a little paler in tone with the Sugar Skin – Payton(freckle) from Tea Lane, such a cute look with the smattering of freckles across the nose. You do also have the option without freckles so check them out.
The beautiful dress with jacket is again from Tuli, and is the Leila Garden Set . I was totally drawn to this ensemble, not only because of the beautiful style of dress but of course the combination of colours, and print. This is the outfit that I remember many times when I was in my mid 20’s wishing I had at crunch time, you know those sundays you have to attend some day time christening or whatever day time functiony thing, and you realise that everything you own is either work clothes or going out stuff, and its been a long time since you even thought of dressy day wear.
Well looks like this one are perfect for such things, and I know I am not the only one, so don’t get caught out, go explore that look, because even here we have daytime functions.
The crop jacket comes with and is great for mixing and matching with other items, I was so excited to see also that the Sassy Wedges by Maitreya had collaborated with Tuli to bring us colours that compliment this line, weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee more shoes. So there below the dresses are the colours that match, so if you are a fan of the Sassy wedges and you don’t know if you have these colours, for that reason alone you need to visit Tuli’s. The tortoiseshell bangle from the set at Essentia was also a great addition in the lovely soft pink, bringing it all together with my green and pink bonanze.
See still can’t do a quickie, I totally talk too much lol.

Hair Fair Updates
From Hair Fair Blog :
Real World Hair Donations
Posted on August 8, 2008 by Teagan BlackthorneTwo weeks to go until the Hair Fair. It is time to take a moment to talk about the wonderful charity, Locks of Love. This charity accepts donations of money and hair to help build wigs for children who have hair loss due to medical conditions or medications which can include chemotherapy, burn injuries, genetic disease, and the like. These wigs are provided for children under the age of 18 in the United States and Canada. Each hairpiece can cost between $3500 to $6000 USD so every donation is appreciated.

Hair Fair Events Planning

Ok so first off I am going to point out that I will probably copy paste this again on monday or other days just to be sure everyone see’s it :P, but as its for Charity you won’t mind I’m sure. Also as the Official Hair Fair blog doesn’t hit all feeds I am posting here as I am on the committee, but ANYONE who wants to spread the word can contact me in world or just link to the blog HERE.Last year we did a few events that we are repeating this year, one of those is of course Bandana Day and the others will change but the concept of prizes for them will be the same. Last year all that was arranged only two weeks prior and many weren’t given enough time to be involved, so this year we are making sure you all know well in advance.
The Bandana Day Kits have been sent to the participants of Hair Fair , but also many other designers but by no means ALL, so if you are interested in making a Bandana for Hair Fair contact me in world for one.
You do NOT have to be a Hair Creator to be involved. You also do NOT have to own a store, this is the kind of thing that is important to so many people in world, and my experience last year means I know that many would love to do something to help but feel that because they aren’t a store etc they can’t be, THAT IS NOT THE CASE!.
ALL the money from the sales of the Bandana’s will go to Locks of Love the charity of choice for Hair Fair this year and past years. So that being said anyone who wants to create a bandana please contact me 🙂 . I have already received wonderful ones not only retextured with beautiful prints, but also some with amazing prim work added and themed lol sooooooooooooooo cute, cant wait for you all to see them.
Just be aware these have to come back to me full perms , and wont be able to be sold by anyone but the Hair Fair , you must also guarantee 100% that the textures are yours to use and prim work as well.
Ok now on to the second part , PRIZES, there are events as I said that will be run during Hair Fair, and for those we need prizes , I have already collected promises from many designers for this, the promise is in the form of a notecard as we do not want anyone changing perms to their items to do this.
Now we of course will be approaching Hair Fair Participants for Prizes for different events , but for some of them, again, its a case of other people wanting to be involved as they were last year.
There was a bit of confusion with my Prizes Requests note card that went out to Designers , based on them not making hair 🙂 I knew that, thats why it was sent, but I am sorry that it caused confusion. The Prizes requests are for designers and creators who would like to be involved to fill in the notecard I have that states what they will give the winners. This can be anything from a particular item or items , or gift cards or an amount to use in their stores. I do not want to collect the items from Designers as again this would mean possibly having to change perms to make them passable.
The notecard asks for this info :
Store Name :
Avatar Name ( Your Name) :
Prizes Donated :
Then to be sent to Sasy Scarborough in world with the notecard named : Hair Fair Prizes (Your Store and Your Name )
So if you want to you can just make one and send it to me with that info included…The generosity has been incredible as usual but again dont want anyone missing out on the chance to be involved , once the events start being listed on the blogs the names of each store donating prizes will be included in each posting of events.
If anyone has any questions about either of these things IM Sasy Scarborough or Serendipity Nerd in world or send Sasy Scarborough or Serendipity Nerd a notecard which is preferable so we don’t miss the question.
Thanks Again In Advance

Official Hair Fair Photo Contest
Do you love hair? Show it in the Official Hair Fair 2008 Photo Contest on flickr! We’re looking for pictures that show the range and fun of hair across the grid. We’ll be picking 2 first prize winners, three second prize winners, and 5 third place winners to display at the Hair Fair throughout the whole event.
We at Hair Fair want to show the love and appreciation for the talented people that make us beautiful hair (both past and present), and in doing so we have created the Hair Fair Photo Contest. This contest is for you to show, in an homage style, a photo or photos that show your favorite hair styles and the way you love to wear them, what makes them your favorites and what it is about the designer and their work that generates that affection.
The Rules (there had to be rules, right?)
1. Be creative, but remember- we’re looking for pictures that focus on the HAIR.
2. Feel free to enhance your shot in your photo editing program of choice, but don’t add text or borders.
3. Keep your photos at 512 pixels by 512 pixels square.
4. Photos may only be entered once, and only the person entering the photo is eligible to win. The same photo may not be entered by more than one person.
5. Entrants are limited to 10 entries to the pool total.
6. In the description of each photo you enter, please include:
Your Second Life avatar name:
Model:
Photographer:
Hair Style Name and Store:
A description of why you love this hair/designer.
7. All photos must be entered by Midnight SLT on August 15th.
8. Winners will be announced at the Hair Fair. You do not have to show hair that is made only be designers in hair fair this year. It could be past designers that have left Second Life, or designers just starting out, or even hair you or a friend made. Some examples of what we’re looking for-
The title says it all, here. The shot is so far away, we can’t see your pretty hair!
The photo is nice, but there’s text all over it, and a border!
Ok, these are the types of shots we’d like to see. They’re close enough to see the hair, with no text or borders. It’s 512×512. This is what we want, only with your face and hair!
Finally, prizes will be announced at a later date.
These rules are not all inclusive, and as the Hair Fair committee we reserve the right to disqualify what we feel is not in keeping with the homage style of this contest. We reserve the right to edit, to reproduce, and re-use submitted images. By submitting to this poster pool, all entrants are agreeing to the conditions and permissions outlined within the rules.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Laynie Link, either in-world with an IM or at laynielink@gmail.com.
