On Campus
Ok so this is what I know about what is what this weekend. First off, those people over at Freestyle that have been promoting the buns off new stores, and free items for the last 4 years, are having a celebration. I remember when Ashia Tomsen used to do the posts over there almost solo at one stage, but over the years many incredible bloggers have worked with Creamy to make it a most memorable blog. The event is 4*44*444 similar to Collabor88 in the concept that everything there is one of those prices, and what I have seen so far is well worth checking out.
Other things worth checking out is the Annual Choice Stamp Rally event, the idea is that you do some regular shopping in one or more of the stores on the list. That you buy however many items you like that have the Stamp Choice cards in them, you can see that in either edit contents or the buy menu, probably wiser to go with the contents. So then once you have the cards, you attach them to either various parts of your body YES YOU CAN DO THEM ALL AT ONCE, or you can be like me and attach them to your hud spaces on your screen and line them up all pretty and no one will see them lol. Then you go to every store on the list and find the stamp pad and click it and you will see a stamp appear on the card. This is also why I wear to HUD, you don’t have to try and navigate your camera to all the different cards to see that. Then once you have all your cards stamped, and trust me this takes such a small amount of time, even with all the shopping you end up doing in between, because the stores are always fabulous. You go to the final destination and drag your completed card to the Kiosk and choose your reward, one at a time, and make sure you are really aware of what you want in advance because you don’t have long to choose. I got an incredible life sized doll house and the Y’s House lounge suite, and a great handbag today, plus all the shopping, it was a great morning spent with Whimsy.
Now after that I went shopping further, and picked up this wonderful skirt, I loved it at first sight. I also grabbed the navy version, and really wish there were more than three colours, I would love a blood red in this too. While at Tram getting my stamps I realised for the first time they do hair, seriously how that escaped me I will never know, unless I knew and forgot…yeah lets say that happened. This style just beckoned to me, and it is just lovely. Now the skin is new to me too, and oh so adorable and oh so WOOOT free for me. I was out cruising a mall and there was a Mother Goose satellite, and like her regular store she has lucky boards there, in the doorway even so you can see them and the letters just wandering past and sure enough there was an S amongst them. For some reason I expected it to say Group Only, but nope it sent me the skin and voila a perfect match to my hair I think, freckles and all.
I love my look today, because it has that girl on campus feel to it. So that’s what I did, searched campus and found this wonderful location for a pic. Using my VR Studio HUD Library by VR Foundry for posing anywhere you want, I used the NEW Ploom poses ALL and the first one in the new set was great for the handbag and just overall feel of the look. This way also I got to show off the NEW Astrid Boots from SLink, these boots need education, because you need a Math degree to work out the bargain that they are.
The Astrid MESH boots come with 16 boot colours and 16 strap colours, which means if you get the fat pack you have over 200 variations of the boot. Is that not insanely awesome. They are a woven leather design, and the heels are just super sexy and sleek. If you are not using a MESH viewer yet, seriously try it out, don’t be stubborn.

F is for Frooti
I was actually a tad worried about these letters for the Alphabet challenge that the lovely Willow Zander came up with. But how could I be worried when F is for Frooti. First off it was fun when thinking I wasn’t going to have skins, the greater known for their hair stores came through for me. I have always been a big fan of Dernier Cri skins, there is something about them that is just so unusual, and so high impact when worn, Asuka also has a lovely arrangement of make ups, so it is all win.
The outfit I have on is from DCNY, this halter and skirt set is just wonderful and comes in ten colours, so you can mix and match, but I was all about the sand colour today because it was just brilliant for my Dark Mouse accessories.
Elymode just released her first MESH item, and I have been cheering and watching and so excited for Elysium all the way through. This is not only her first MESH for the store, but her first MESH ever. She has taken a few weeks and just pushed herself to learn this new method, and she finally nailed it enough to release. This is only the start too, with the amount of passion and dedication she put to learning, it is only going to make it more exciting to watch future releases. Elysium says that in a few months she wants to have a micro mini prim burning party, I for one just had to use this type of pose to really show how MESH is changing how we move, dress and see ourselves now. I for one sit more and move more than ever before. I am also totally in lust with this hair from Elikatira, the flapper style look that she had done previously for Aveda was always a favourite too, but something about it was just a touch off, back then when it was made though I don’t think we even had sculpts, there was something about the bangs that made me love it and doubt it all at the same time…now though the Looking hair is just superb, and fits so snuggly under the baggy knit cap from Epoque that was a previous Fifty L Friday item and just because I can I am so going to go copy paste in his IM about four times minimum that it is in this post, because I love sharing those things with Vintage. On top of all this, or should I say under, is skin by Exile, see you thought the great Kavar only did hair didn’t you, well you would be wrong because that man is super duper talented.
Lastly F is for Frooti, Frooti of course being the pose store owned and operated by Willow Zander herself. I have to say I love this look too, it really does remind me of those women that work in the hoity toity stores, the ones that act as though they own the place, and forget you are the one there with money to shop with. But there are also the ones from way back, the beautiful ones, the ones that had such class and airs and graces, that would remember their customers by name, and just have that really dedicated career air about themselves. Of course those women wouldn’t have their tummies exposed, but you get the drift. They would all of course be called Mrs Andrews just like the hair from Frou Frou, so it all works.

Owl always love you
I love the 80’s retro items that come and go in the past few years. The 80’s return fashion wise has made me giggle, seeing as everyone spent the last 20 years or so complaining about how awful it was fashion wise, and then bringing it all back in again. But the best thing about it, is that they got to take the best parts of the fashion and rework it to be even better, and correct any really out there fashion faux pas if you will.
I felt that way when I saw Tres Blah’s stand at collabor88. Whimsy and I stopped off there last week after a really bad shopping trip elsewhere and had such a bad buyers remorse downer going on, but the event fixed that and so fast. I couldn’t resist this outfit, it is made to be worn all at once, but with some creativity , you could definitely get more use out of the skirt or top, or just add more. I think it would also look great with a denim jacket.
I chose this colour because back when the neon was all the rage, well when it started in the first years of the 80’s I was in that late primary school age, not yet in high school, and I wanted some neon stuff so badly. My Mum had said no on many an occasion and then one night surprised me by giving me some socks in the neon green and this neon coral and I was over the moon.
I am also wearing the new hair from Wasabi Pills, this hair is MESH, so its an all in one, and I am excited to say that so far all Mesh hair I have tried on has fit me o/. This style is beautiful, and the bangs are delish. You can see a video on how it moves HERE .
Also new are the fantastic semi slouch ankle boots from Paper Couture, now the designer behind the shoes of Paper Couture is of course Emma Gilmour of Surf Co and Mon Tissu, so if a fan of either you really need to run over and try these boots on. The leather they are made from has such a soft silky look to it, rather than your usual stiff leather, and you can just imagine how well it hugs the foot. They are available in 5 colours and you can try on a DEMO in the Paper Couture Mainstore.
Lastly an item I forgot to mention I was wearing the other day, such an oversight because it is simply gorgeous and available at the Jewelry fair currently running. Bliensen + MaiTai amaze me with every new release, their collection for the fair is definitely worth making the trip for, and owl jewelry like this is so collectible in RL you just need to get yourself this necklace.

Plugged
I had actually taken a studio shot earlier for this post, then ended up downstairs at The Deck chatting with Callie Cline and Whimsy for a few hours. If you haven’t heard the Kitty Cats have new interactive play with them now, so not only do you get to breed them and love them and hold them and feed them, and do all the other things you could do before. But now anyone can pat them. The exciting thing is that aDORKable did the animations for them, so I am so happy about that. I had a little pat myself, and I must admit they are adorable.
So after being downstairs, I took another shot and liked it better. The jeans I am wearing are the latest from Tres Blah, the JuJu ripped jeans look as great on as they did on display, so that was a bonus for sure. Lots of new items over there, so be sure to head over. I am wearing the hair I like to make up stories about lol. It is called 2358 just because, according to Thora, but it is 2 minutes before midnight, if you look at it as a clock, and I am half sure for some reason it was made on a monday, so I keep calling it my 2 minutes til tuesday hair, don’t know why, but it is fun.
The boots I have on, and wow have we been spoiled lately in boots releases, more to come will definitely be the Astrid from SLink and the Elevation booties from Paper Couture. But these are by Ten Fifteen and they are MESH. So one attachment, but many sizes so you should easily find one that suits you, mine are size two. They are a nice slouched knee high, and if you have been watching the creation of MESH lately, you will know that Damien Fate/Washu Zebrastripe the duo behind Ten Fifteen are in fact the ones creating a lot of the MESH you are seeing in other stores.
They have been selling it as full perms items, and the way MESH textures, this is a dream come true for many creators. You can also hire Damien to make you custom MESH and his prices are very reasonable for modeling work of this nature. So if you have something in mind, maybe consider the investment.
You may notice I could never get through an airport without delay today. I am wearing the new piercings from Red Mint, as well as the bangles/rings and nails of a previous release. A bit enamored with the rings on all fingers look I must say. Now when it comes to plugs though, in RL a big NO from me, but in SL well whatever rocks your whistle. This one was kind of fun because Mel and I have been talking about tongue piercings for the past few weeks anyway, so this was more of a teasing him tongue poking out kind of thing. They are great plugs and piercings though and come in lots of options. So give them a twirl if plugs are your destiny.

A B C’s
The other week Willow Zander started a Blogger Challenge, one that she had done in the past, so a resurrection if you will. The Alphabet Challenge is a fun one, it mixes up looks so much more than most…and for me is a walk in the park seeing as my whole inventory is alphabetised lol.
So here are my A,B and C’s for now, and whether I do the whole alphabet, I am not sure at this moment, but it definitely is a nice way to bring out some old favourites. Â In mine so far it is all store name motivated, but please ignore eyes and lashes because they don’t change.

I found the Treasure
So earlier today I did a blog post on location. I did not go into it, because I planned on returning to really look at the space. I had no clue that it would not only end up a fabulous fun time with Whimsy and Mel, but the sim just grew and grew into this incredible experience. I for one want everything there, the homes, the stores, the items in the stores, the plants and gardens and wow, it is like being in an actual home and garden showroom in RL the way it is set up in some areas. I wish that everything was for sale as separates in the builds themselves, because there are the most adorable fishy hanging things in one of the houses that I want so bad, but it only comes with everything else. Note to owner though, seriously if you did set everything for sale as individual pieces as well, people like me would go nuts, and convince ourselves it was only this and this and this and this and this and woooops *Grins Greedily*.
Now Whimsy will be doing her own post @ Virtually Dressed  on the experience today as well, I took some pics of us together, but really loved her look amongst the real shopping aspect of the environment. Now I felt right at home there too, first off because of my outfit. The pants I am wearing are from Beetlebones, they are MESH and they are superb. This is going to be a store to watch when it comes to Mesh because the clothing is incredible already, and she has only released the pants so far…but we do get sneak peaks on flickr and her plurk.
The sizing was damn near perfect for me, waist wise spot on, only the suspender/braces part of the pants needed a little nudge of my breasts down by a few. That is fine with me, because I can see these being my go to pants often. I love the colours – you will see them again trust me – and the overall handpainting of the texture that just has me at hello. Now not only was I all woohooo these pants rock, but then I was able to match them up with the other squeel of the day which is the Claim hair by Elikatira.
Why would I squeel so much, well a few weeks back I deleted all my CS hair, yes a tragedy I know, and I should have boxed it, but as the place is well and truly closed now blah blah blah. Anyway, to date CS had the best Cowgirl Hat/Hair and of course a few days after I deleted it, I needed it – damn it to bah humbug – but now I never have to worry again, because Elikatira has created its more than worthy replacement, and not only do you get the hat/hair you get the hair solo as well.
So tomorrow, or right now, or at some stage this week, make sure you take a whole lot of hours and a few friends and check out Bahia, because it takes way more than one set of eyes to really see how amazing the sim is, and how many things you are going to fall for, and if you get peckish you can always buy a picnic basket in the store area, I did, and there are three different ones to choose from.
It was also really lucky to have the VR Library pose on location HUD, because I was able to use it to pose near the fruit and veg stall with Whimsy and use my VR HUD to camera lock and take pics I needed to layer.
TP To Bahia and remember to explore all over, because the place is HUGE.

By the Sea
First off I want to mention that myself, and some incredible Fashion Bloggers are part of a Linden Lab Fashion Expert Days event. Now while I don’t claim to be an expert on anything, this was an honor, to be asked by the powers that be, to be part of something this huge. So if any of my readers drop by, thank you so much in advance, and if you cannot make it, please drop by afterwards and say hi, to not only myself, but everyone involved.
As you know Whimsy and I attended most of the Modavia Fashion Week shows, now while I did not get pics of every show, I am still incredibly impressed by not only the designers, but the event as a whole. Dahlia, Poptart, all of the incredible Models and of course Maddox Dupont who created sets that left us breathless and music that added to the passion of the event.
Now even though the event is over, you can now find many of the creations are in fact now in the stores, so hop to it. Two of the shows that blew me away colour and design wise were LaGyo and The Secret Store. In my looks today I have incorporated three looks out of both of the stores, and their work together is just divine. The colours, the textures, the thought that went into both collections is outstanding. Â The other stand out for LaGyo was the accessories, these will have you oooing and aaaing for weeks.
Chunky jewelry, handbags, hats to die for and cape-lets you couldn’t have imagined. I was lucky to have such stunning hairstyles from Exile to show these off with. The issues often with hats, is that hair and hats made separately are a pain in the bum to sort. Over the years though my love for both have had me work out a method. First is to make sure you make a copy of your hair you are working with.  Then go into edit and make sure stretch both sides is checked, and shrink that hair down best you can without losing the style itself. This wont always work, but the hat will hide a lot of what is changed about the hair.
Then I find that rather than moving hair only, the strays that is, I use a combo of both flattening them and shoving them in my head…again it is the hat that will hide most of this, believe me you would not want to wear this hair again without it. This full blown hair though from Exile still looks HOT with the amazing hat, such a pimped look that I just love.  It does also help that the hair is close to the skull in the upper portion already, so it was an easier style than many to edit.
Now lets talk about the shoes…If I was to do an ad campaign, and believe me I did spend a few hours in my head trying to work it out, then I would so have had me climbing the side of a mountain. Then the text would read something along the lines of ” Treaders: the shoes you wear when still trying to convince the new man in your life you have the same hobbies” snickers. I really love the Treaders from Maitreya, they are the shoe within a boot, you will recognise the style from the Shearling boots released in the past, the shoes were just dieing to be made as well. But I truly can also imagine these in some movie like Legally Blonde or Clueless where the main character will definitely put looks over practicality in most situations, but has found the PERFECT alternative for hiking in heels. Also as an extreme heel wearer, I can totally appreciate the grip on these and just know they would be heavenly to dance in all night, and then have to walk home in because some idiot decided that clubs close the same exact time as taxis change drivers.
The skin I am wearing is from Addict, it is the new skin line Raia and the make ups are just lovely. Full lipped and beautiful shadows. There is a cleavage add on, but I will say DEMO DEMO DEMO because low clothing will not be possible if too low. There is no shaved option, so you will have to make sure it is something you can wear with your wardrobe style. Other than that, it is a great face make up, and the tones are delish.

Modavia Fashion Week Day Two
Day 2 of Modavia Fashion Week, and there were more press in attendance and a great group of appreciative VIP’s, and customers. Whimsy and I got there just in time before it filled up, and it was nice to see Cajsa there as well.
The first thing to notice was that the build – done by Maddox Dupont – had changed again, this time a very Metropolis Film look, with art deco styled beams and splashes of coloured lighting. Maddox of MADDesigns has a real knack for pulling together a look with the most minimal of textures, which of course is much needed at an overloaded event such a show of this nature.
The show was about to begin with a store I knew nothing about. Sartoria, is a new to me label and one I will find hard to forget…this is a name I know that myself and Whimsy will be shouting out the next time someone asks about mens clothing in Fashion Emergency. To be honest though, that was pretty much the theme of the day, incredible Menswear, follow with me.
For an oldbie like me, this release had me in awe of the changes to mens fashion over the years. But not only the changes to the actual clothing…look at the models. Men get to be Men, their own Men, not Dante with three shape options – HA HA HA I can say that now they are closed and Lost can bite my bum – lol I am by no means picking on Naughty, if it wasn’t for them we would have had women looking like models and Men looking like crap, I for one will admit to having a few Dante crushes in the past. But again, with the looks today it was so evident that men are again taking on fashion, and taking it on so well. The first store I managed in SL was mainly known for its menswear, and especially suits and really distinguished looks, so when the grid went too casual for guys it was really upsetting to me. Stores like Sartoria and the others shown at Modavia this week are bringing back Class to menswear and YIPEE for that.
The one thing that was very obvious, was the very English influence of the looks. Very Saville Row, and a mix of now and past looks of mens fashion, truly retro inspired , you can imagine the Beatles or Mick wearing these clothes.
Gabriel on the other hand was a lot more dressed to impress. For nights on the town at least. The use of layers was excellent in this and all collections so far, I am truly so happy that LL gave us more than one layer options for each clothing type now. I would have personally loved to see the guys come out again without the coats on, that would have made for an interesting visual – the one difference that is so evident about RL SL Fashion shows, no coats off and twirling.
Aside from the very sexy suited looks, there were some dark and brooding leather military styles, the coats were thick and heavy, just as they should be if trying to pull off this look. The womens wear was all evening, but flirty and cocktail length, simple gradients of colour.
Lastly for me sadly, as the grid went down for many. I personally think it was just so the male lindens could all go shopping in peace – but anyway, FIR & MNA were a huge hit. Naith Smith was there too as he was the hair provider for the show. The funny thing about the show was that Women in the audience talk a lot more when Men are on stage than when Women are…and especially about their shoes. I worked out why though later on, when nearly every model – female – came out after she had shoes on I already own, so what’s the point lol.
But seriously one of the longest fashion mysteries in SL has always been were to get good mens shoes. Not only dress shoes, but the every day that don’t always have to be runners/trainers. This collection more than showed the way, but I still wholeheartedly believe that there needed to be some socks on the top left, because not only would the shoes get very smelly very fast, but the thickness of the leather would mean blisters.
Moving upwards though, the styles of pants the men were wearing were great, not too blokey, but still masculine enough for all Men to Wear, that should be the catch phrase of the collection. Whether Geek, Chic, or just a blokey bloke, all of the looks worked in some way, whether taking it down in layers, or wearing a whole look. Bottom left I wanted to see with just his bottoms on, because it was such a great sunday morning lazing around the house look. Then bottom right had a dashing off to the local store to get some provisions for breakfast appeal.
