Whimsy and I went shopping the last FLF yesterday, and while we were all dressed up and looking fine, some pics needed to be taken. Firstly though I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year, as it is already 2012 down here, and what a sound the fireworks over Sydney Harbour made tonight. I hope everyone has a wonderful New Years eve celebration, and if not celebrating as such, at least take the time to reflect on all the great things you and yours have done in the past 12 months, and hope to achieve in the next.

Anyway, as I was saying, Whimsy and I went to Venexia which is an RP sim that is really wonderful on the ground floor, the landing point lands you at a mall though, but definitely worth getting down to the water and incredible builds. It was perfect for Whimsy’s very Russian Spy look today. I totally represented with the fur trim from the Celoe Rossi coat, and even though the hat and coat from LeLutka are much older items, they are definitely gorgeous.

I said I would definitely do a follow up post of some of the items I purchased at Four Corners, so here it is. You can also see a roundup of all the available items on their blog HERE.

The very cute dress from Priss reminded me of Wednesday Munster, but with a very fashionable brown belt on black look. I don’t know how this became a yes thing, after so many years of it being a big fashion no no, but oh well, now Mel can wear his brown shoes with black pants and be stylin, and Whimsy and I don’t get to nag lol. I did tint the collar so that it better matched the boots. They are MESH boots from G*Field, and come in two lovely colours for the event, I do hope they will come in more of an assortment afterwards.

The bag I have is by Tee*fy, not at this event, but at The Dressing Room – blue I think, and is just gorgeous, it is set up as unisex, and if you are into carrying a manbag then this one is all systems go. Milana has not done a hair release in some time, due to college restraints usually when it comes to the Dernier Cri sim girls, but they are back and Bonnie II is one of three just released styles, and the roots options are just great.

I totally realised at 6am this morning that I had forgotten to sleep. Having done the huge post on the fabulous French Apartment already, I decided to hold off on posting the next post until I awoke…I seriously don’t even know what timezone I sleep on these days, it has definitely become very Sasy GMT as Beauvoire used to say. I am so in love with Mesh, how it moves and how different it is after all these years.

Whimsy and I went dancing on Christmas night, it is a tradition for us, and even though we have seen Mesh in action on vids and stuff, and have actually also danced a little at home in it. Nothing compares to going to a club all dressed up and watching others, and not having prims stick through your body. It was wonderful fun.

So today I am wearing some of the New Maitreya Mesh items. I have been waiting for these for months. The first look is a basic look, but both items can be dressed up further. The leather leggings are incredibly tight fitting, in RL you would need some talc – tries not to think of that episode of Friends and fails lol – the colours are gorgeous, and especially the olive. What I liked too is that they hug the hips, and the detailing is just superb. I was totally excited when I realised too that if you choose the knee socks option on the Moxie heels, then they fit perfectly with the pants, as the scrunched socks portion vanishes. So snuggly socks with shoes for winter, but of course the sockless version is perfect too for summer or to be a tad sexier for a night out.

The sweater is draped low at the back, and you can see my bra back strap, I have had to always wear bra and panties now with Mesh items, as alpha does not always load fast for people and I am not in the habit of public displays of nakey. I like that though, because otherwise you would be obviously all loose and stuff. I have always loved Maitreyas backless items, her Mirli sweaters were the reverse way in past years, and I do hope that they consider doing the Mirli look in Mesh in the future.

Highwaisted pencil skirt love, the Anais skirt is divine especially for those of us that have always been big supporters of the system skirt in SL. I also wear the other style of skirt with the insert, and I do love the ease of that look, but with the added high waist and fitted slim belt, the all round look when the right fit, is definitely stunning, and seems to have a more tailored finish. The skirt comes with either polka dots or these birds in flight looks, and they are just lovely. The blouse is perfection, with the peter pan collar, and its slight billowy sleeve, the blouse also comes with the added waist attachment, of belted goodness, but without it fits as a tucked into skirt look, that is all win.

The Cul de Sac dress is a firm favourite of the collection, I didn’t take it off for days, just swapped colours. The bow is an option, so you can wear without. I wanted a little more to the look so I added the boyfriend shirt also from Maitreya underneath. As well as the shirt, I am also wearing the Westbury mini from Mon Tissu, this is also mesh and is one of the insert style skirts I mentioned, were instead of the mesh wrapping the whole body, it relies on the system pants layers with an insert between the legs in mesh. This is genius and Mon Tissu were the first to my knowledge to release this concept.  The dress does have an alpha layer, but I am not actually wearing it, I found that my AO was ok for the most part without it, and the only thing that poked through on occasion was the blue of the skirt, but I can still wear the alpha for a better fit if I change ao’s – as I do usually daily.

The hair is all from Exile, two of the styles are the newest creations, and the one on the left is for MEN, but I am keeping it for me, because it is GORGEOUS, and the autumn texture I am wearing it in is a new favourite, it is just stunning up close, so demo demo demo hard core, his new textures are dynamite. The style in the middle is adorable, and the one on the right is just lovely as a casual updo for looks like this, or more formal affairs.

The skin I am wearing is from LAQ and was a Christmas gift to the group subscribo matic. So if you aren’t in the group I suggest running over and joining and seeing if you are lucky enough that it is still there, if not then stay in the group anyway, as it is good to know what is going on release wise.

Due to What’s New SL, I am fortunate to get to stores I otherwise would not find. While I was there, I was ooohing and aaaaaahing constantly at the amazing builds that were available to view in a dome location. You get to tp to it from the actual store, which in itself is adorable. Whimsy has me hooked on houses, she changes hers usually every other week, and with all of the incredible events that happen throughout the year, I often amass great piles of furniture and home decor, which I just love to bits.

So with the help of Whimsy Winx and all of these great pieces, I was able to decorate a truly wonderful home. Often in SL I see the query about apartment living, and there are thousands of skyboxes around SL that some think fit that category. But when you see this build up close and personal, and I do encourage you to, you will see that this is definitely how apartment living should be.

While the outside is an illusion, there is no door, and you want to really believe in the ideal that you are only one of the apartments in the build, it is done in such a wonderful way. Also it is built high, so that the lower portion of the build will fit into any Terra-forming that you may not have control over, allowing for hills, and such, and one of the stand out things about the build, is that the beautiful trees come with.

When you first rez the French Apartment, and it is so perfectly named, you will find that it is rezzed in a huge box, this is for privacy in the sky, it is not linked to the build, so you can of course delete it if you are setting up on land, or you could probably change the shape to a sphere and make it a dome surround, your choice. You will need to make your landing point inside of the apartment, as I said no doors – not outside anyway – so if not setting home, then definitely make a landmark, or maybe even hide a TP system in the trees for personal use.

As I said Whimsy and I furnished it together, and I just love it, so I will have to tidy up all the mess in the sky so I can save some prims lol. In the pics you can see each room from the foyer, which has double doors to show the pretend entrance. Now if you don’t want it to stay fake, the build is all mod, so you could in fact make those doors go to the outside and vice versa. The apartment is also copy, so don’t freak out if you make a mistake.

There are other stand out features I just loved about the build, all the builds by DEER actually, first off the windows OPEN, yes there you have it actual opening and closing windows. I was only remarking to Whimsy last week why is that so rare in SL – I know it has a lot to do with prim limits etc, but this whole build is only 436 prims with accessories, 324 without, and I have seen far primmier houses with so much less going on.

Not only do the windows open, but as do the shutters and all of the doors – funny that – but another stand out feature other than the doors having handles that are in the right place, is that the apartment has two bathrooms that are actually kitted out with sinks, toilets and in the main a bath. So yes again you could mod them to be other things, but it is nice to have that realism added to the mix. The other is the kitchen, the cupboards and sink in there are actually also part of the build, again unlinked and modify or removable if needed, but I loved the pink curtains so decorated with the help of Artilleri’s wonderful appliances to match.

But lets go room by room shall we.

Entrance/ Foyer :

Double doors alluding to an entrance inside of the main building, off to the left is the first bathroom, with toilet and two sinks for efficiency in the morning. I added a really beautiful hallway set by What Next that was released awhile back, it is so cute, and the wellington boots add a great touch. The framed pics also by What Next – part of a set – I used a few times throughout and changed the images to other fabrics I had, from Insight Designs and Kyoot. The rattan pieces are from Lisp, and having mirrors directly opposite your front door is good Feng Shui, keeping bad spirits out.

I really love the size of the foyer, it – as do all the rooms – has beautiful high ceilings and you really feel like you are entering something amazing.

Living Room :

Double Glass French doors lead into the living area from the foyer.  The gorgeous lounge setting is again by What Next, this was actually part of their Vintage Fair release and has the most wonderful poses set into the sofas and ottomans. The great thing about it other than the gorgeous colours and texturing, is that it is also mod, and due to the size being a little too small for me as well as the room space, I was able to stretch all the pieces just a smidge. The dandelion theme is just adorable, and I even remember being little and fascinated by these flowers. I incorporated another set from What Next into the look, the Sophie chairs are all sorts of retro goodness, and they mix well in this colour with the cushion fabrics of the sofa, and the wallpaper colour which is part of the house – I did not change any of that, it is perfect. Whimsy and I incorporated pieces from Lisp such as the side table and coffee table, the beautiful Chaise Lounge is from The Loft, with other bric a brac pieces and the stunning wall art is Kyoot.

Kitchen & Balcony :

Through from the Living area, you have another set of double french doors that lead into the kitchen. To the left as in the Living Room there is another small balcony, but just enough to fit a cafe table and accessories like this perfect croissant and coffee one from Tranquility Way Station, there were more parts to it, but a bit too cluttered for the confined space. As I mentioned the cabinetry comes with the build, so rezzing the most recent of stoves and fridge from Artilleri, I was able to choose a pink closest to the curtains, and then YAY mod, tint them to be ideal. The cookware also from Artilleri already had the exact pink in its texture change menu. More beautiful additions from Second Spaces, Lisp, Wrigglesworth, Dreamscape Decor and Cluster.

Dining Room :

You have two options for the dining room entrance, the single door at the end of the foyer, or the double open entrance off the kitchen, one for guests and one for the host/ess I imagine. The setting from Second Spaces is the really lovely Mismatched Dining set, nearly all of the dining area is that set, and it really fits the ambiance of the room and apartment well.  The chalkboard is texture change, and there are many different things written on it, so fun. Kyoot backdrop textures were added to the What Next frames for a splash of colour in keeping with the ones in the furniture.

Upstairs landing :

Oh curved walls how I love thee, this would not have been an easy thing to do for the builder, but the effect is a delight. Also in keeping with the architecture of the time, and fluidity is key in a home. This area was a bit too sparse, so I kind of built up with crates from Lisp and then added some cushions to the spaces, so that it would seem practical and decorative at the same time, would also work for bed linen and towels if you didn’t have built ins…mind you only matchy matchy pieces, or it would be blech.

Whimsy’s Room :

I asked Whimsy to decorate her own bedroom, this way it was her charm and aesthetic and we have usually such similar tastes, but bedrooms are very personal things. She is traditional definitely as you can see, her beautiful big bed, and vanity table. Then eclectic with her splashes of print in the chair, and crazy Christmas tree arty thing. The bed and dressing table are from Cherished, the cherry wood in them is just stunning, and the inlaid carvings. She is a hoot when it comes to crazy reality in SL though too, see the laundry basket at the foot of her bed, and the foot spa at her chaise lounge, and many of you will remember her own blog post many moons ago of her vacuuming her house, yes these are things she really does. RC Cluster was her porn. Also other items from The Loft and Kyoot with some Lisp as well. I especially love the wall art tree with framed pictures, I even appear a few times on there with her…YAY.

Sasy’s Room :

Ah my room, this is my dream room. I am a Pisces, and watery fishy stuff is my bliss. I used some nautical items from What Next such as the bookcases and seating bench, that is all one piece, but does come as separate ones also. It was perfect with the Mathilde craft items from Lisp, the table and basket. The record turntable and speakers etc, are all Lisp items and were part of Collabor88, you definitely need to attend that monthly because the Lisp items are always amazing. Another chalkboard this time from What Next, and again menu driven for textures, I couldn’t go past the cute hearts, they just complimented the room and that cheesey as all get out picture on the wall. That was part of the Mr and Mrs set from Lisp as are the incredible novel lamps by the bed, so cute.

Now the bed is genius, and would totally determine the whole look. This is made by the incredibly talented Thaumata Strangelove and is from her store Grindstone, it is so awesome, and I just love it. I found some string garden lights with starfish from What Next, they had a few different colour combos, but the gold and white was subtle enough to go with the walls, they don’t jump out at you, but are a delightful surprise when you realise they are there.

There is a main bathroom off the main bedroom with big brass bath, and the other double doors go to a smaller room, which could be one hell of a fashionista closet, or even a nursery, but I opted for an office for now. With office pieces from NotSoBad. Probably a bit more modern than the rest of the decor in the apartment, but one has to be professional, it would also be a great den/Man Cave lol.

The French Apartment is just divine, and there is a French House version also. The items can be purchased on Marketplace, but I advise visiting the store as there is a 5% Group Discount if you join and buy from those vendors. You may need to buy from the store ones not the rezzing ones, so be sure to check first for any signs in the store regarding that. I hope you check out DEER, because the builds are just wonderful, and the prices for the work are excellent. Oh and there are some houses that actually have a pull down cord in the ceiling that unfolds an attic ladder, it will make you squeel.

Living Room :

Aranel Ah of BOOM added an adorable picture to her flickr this week, but it came with a heartfelt message. She was kind enough to send me the info in world, and today Whimsy and I went to do what we could to help. New releases that will make you want every colour, just to have the options to combine them. I do so love how when something is created one way, you can utilise all of it’s attributes to make it even greater. Such is the case with these incredible NEW pants. They are a MESH item, but done so in a way to use the clothing layers as the waistband and cuffs, and the Mesh attachment fits seamlessly, even with Standard Sizing, you will not have trouble getting these to fit, it is GENIUS. I am loving all of the little tricks people are coming up with for Mesh.

The Nikola Pants are the latest Celoe release, as well as the wonderful Ano tops and Zoe Pumps. First off the pants, as soon as I saw the colours being changed I realised that you can wear the clothing layer in one colour and the Mesh in another and voila more pants. So if you were to buy more than one pair, and you will want to, then you get even more options, buy them all and its over 120 combinations. Twelve great colours to choose from, but again ALL is such a great choice. This drop crotch style is just perfect for Mesh, I love how they move, and totally work as a modern take on the harem pants of the 70’s.  You can dress these up or down, it also depends on the fabric used to make them, and this one is just lovely. I never really understood the fascination with them until I saw a guy in Boys over Flowers ( Korean Drama ) wearing a pair with his shirt off and all sweaty from basketball, then I GOT IT! wowza he was hot. But aside from that, it is just so uptown as a look when on women…I can totally see Joan Collins wearing a pair in Dynasty. So taking from that sense of style, and discarding about a trillion dollars of diamonds and you have the more up to date look.

The top is super fun too, casual or dressy, the colours totally allow for that, especially the Corn coloured one, having a very gold look about it. I am wearing the NEW Decoy jewelry from Glow Studios with it, and look out, I am all glammed up. The second look had me all a flutter. The NEW Bravo set from MOOD is available in these colours at Four Corners, the event I preposted about last week. It has been a very popular event, and this set is just a taste of why. MOOD was a last minute addition and Jori nailed the theme and really excelled with this combination. The shoulder attachment is just divine, with such incredible detailing and delightful feathers. The whole set is the shoulders in feather or bare with diamonds, earrings in both styles and cuff bracelets. I am only showing the shoulder attachment this time, but totally worth getting the lot as the style is going to liven up some formal wear for the season.

The other Jewelry I am wearing is from Essentia Jewelry, the Gem Deco set is a firm favourite, with texture change options, with hand made gemstones in many different colours, as well as metals. Incredible detailing, and big earrings which I just love. While I am around the ears area, the hair I have on in this post is QCX which is a pontail with a back combed look, and it is fabulous with the roots textures. The other style is Wilde which is just beautiful with the bun at the top of the head, such pretty hair, and yay for more Lelutka.

The nails I am wearing are some I found along the way this week. They are by Sensations – which is an adult themed store so be aware – these nails have the usual colours of nailpolish etc, but they have extras that aren’t so common, as well as other great things. Firstly you can choose which nail is what colour. such as if you want to have rainbow nails you can, or have one nail stand out etc. You can also change the shape of the nail, and add rings to which ever fingers. This function is different :p you have a leash holding option for those Mistresses who like to hold onto their pets, or for owners of actual pets it would be great for pics. Then you have different sizes to choose from in the folder BUT if yours isn’t included you can notecard the creator and she will do custom sizing FREE OF CHARGE as long as you know the size of your hands.

Then speaking of hands, you get the option to pose yours with the nails, so you can do the peace sign, fist, salute, relaxed hands and point…so very cool and I have never seen that before, but have heard of it from Iris Ophelia, not sure if it was these nails though. Anyway, the greatness doesn’t stop there, they are MOD, but still doesn’t stop there, you can CUSTOMISE your own nails and rings, the nails come with details and textures as well as info on a PSD file to get the nails for PS or GIMP, so you can make your own and input them into the nails HUD…that then also allows you to sell packs of the nails textures so that people can insert them into their own sets – make very sure if you do that that you read the fine print first and don’t sell anything you don’t have rights too. They are really cool nails, and a really good price for all the features they have.

Shoes, shoes, glorious shoes. The Zoe pumps are the latest MESH shoes from Celoe today also, these are really pretty pumps, and make your feet look so dainty. I really love the toes on these, they are pointed but not pointy, very cool and the colours are great, the red is HOT HOT HOT. Make sure you are using a viewer that allows you to add alpha layers though so you can wear all the goodies at once, if not though you can use the textures included to make yourself an all in one alpha.

The last piece of jewelry I am wearing is from Yummy, there are so many beautiful treasures in that store – the store is Nylon Outfitters and Yummy Combined. Both sisters do such detailed work, and I love the sentimental inspired pieces that Polyester does, they are truly beautiful. You can also still grab some Yummy at Collabor88 so don’t forget to do that up until the 8th of Jan.

The skin I am wearing is Party Girl, a new one from Curio, I will show the make ups at another time though, but if you can’t wait DEMO DEMO DEMO it is really lovely and the face is really nice and great make ups as usual…with freckles and light/dark options available as the norm.

Sometimes being at the other side of the world really sucks. I have been working my hours around SL time for so many years now, but lately just keep getting confused with not only my time, SL time, Mel time, Whimsy time, Ashia time and don’t forget that crazy Newdoll time where because of the poor cows, those crazy Queenslanders don’t even do daylight savings. So not only did I stuff up once this weekend, but two times, and the worst part of the second one was that it was the middle of my day.

So anyway there I was logging in ten minutes after the hour, instead of the fifty minutes early I thought I was. SIM FULL ! Bah Humbug. So all was not lost, or so I thought, when my powers of all knowing, all seeing, Blogger Girl came into play- heehee’s at the thought of Blogger Girl. So I tpd to the sim next door, also owned by the fabulous Modavia, and flew up to 2000ish metres – yes Modavia you can turn off flight but Blogger Girl has the madskills. So there I was hovering like I was new to SL in the air, with my draw distance up to 1000 – thank you Firestorm, cannot pretend that is a Blogger Girl skill, but knowing I needed to do it is :P. Alt click camming inside the big black build in the sky, and there were all the pretty peoples. It was then that I realised that the Miamai InMutatio fashion show, was as was promised going to be very different.

Often I have chatted with friends about static models for shows, how I would raise them from under the floor and have them just be beautiful in the fashion, because all that moving and lag and what not is just crazy. But MiaMai went a step further than even that concept, from what Blogger Girl could see hovering from afar, was that each outfit was what looked to me like a work of conceptual art. Just by purchasing and wearing the items shown, you yourself are part of that art,but by no means is it binding enough to not let you create your own. The scene was very gallery opening, lots of very well dressed people in various parts of the display area. The models inside of displays that showed the vision and beauty that was the whole collection. It looked fantastic. But Blogger Girl saw movement and got excited and wanted to do a little more, she opened her FRAPS and tried to shoot some footage and BIG BADDA BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM !

That was the end of Blogger Girl – for now, because I am really digging her. So after a few more attempts I gave up, knowing that soon the show would be open to the public and even more people would show up, I had lost my chance at a sneak peak, and didn’t want to take up someone elses spot for the next show…alas to find out hours later a third unplanned show was done – where was Blogger Girls symbol in the sky HUH HUH HUH ? sheesh. To make me delieriously happy though, one day Monica Outlander the talent behind MiaMai will make simple slip like dresses and other basics, and instead of lots of prims and such, she will instead add her own INCREDIBLE RL art work to them, like screen print, because her art is divine and I think a simple black canvas of clothing to show it would ROCK so hard.

I have since seen amazing pics, as well as a video that was shot by someone with non failing Fraps, so be sure to look for all those on flickr and youtube. Today I am only showing the insanely awesome wings and mask from the event. The feather detailing is fantastic, but I am so in love with the bone work on the wings, that is just too cool. The wings do come with a corset, but I went with the Lingerie by The Bishes, the set is on Marketplace, and is a crazy insane low price and so pretty in both colour combos. They have also done a Christmas set so be sure to check them out, and look for more goodies in the future.

The contrast of pink and black gave me a chance to wear my sexy hot Esprit XTD shoes from Maitreya Gold, I haven’t worn these in a while, and that is so bad, because they are so so so HOT ! I just love how you can change the detailing on them from the menu of colour choices, it gives you so many pairs of shoes when only purchasing one solid colour. The earrings are from Yummy @ Collabor88 and are big earring love, you need these whatever the price, but don’t be mad to miss the 88L price tag, they are amazing.

The skin and hair I am wearing are both from Amacci, another stunning hairbase add on style is Lily. The hairbases are available at Amacci also and come in so many incredible colours, I couldn’t resist the pink. The skin is Liane and as usual a very beautiful face and body, with cleavage options as well as 8 additional lipsticks with light brow options and 13 skins all up (including the clear no make up option ). Once upon a time there were three girls, their names were Digit Darkes, Grazia Horwitz and Sasy Scarborough… they weren’t angels, not Charlies anyway, but they were and still are Fashionable. It was late 2006 and Digit and I were at my work, then Managing the House of Zen stores and Hinode Shima sim. Digit had popped over to chat, and as I was showing her around, she was nattering about her blogging over at Second Style – yes for those that aren’t old, Digit did the occasional post over there, when she could find the time. Second Style used to have a lot of Designer writers back in the day, doing articles for the magazine or posts on the blog.

Anywayyyyyyyyyy, while we were chatting away, Digit saw the mens section and told me that her friend Grazia was doing an article on Women wearing Mens clothing, and as I used to wear all the Mens suits from HoZ myself, I was totally on board with this idea, so Grazia was asked to come visit and that was my first time meeting her and she was awesome – still is awesome but shhhh I am telling a story. The next day I told Zen all about Grazia and they actually chatted as well, Grazia did an awesome post on how clothing is so versatile, but women definitely have the advantage being able to wear both mens and womens fashion. Grazia did a few other HoZ posts after that, but I remember that one fondly, as it was what brought us together. The next big Grazia and Sasy moment also actually revolved around Digit too.

In February the following year – 2007 – Grazia and I were chatting, and she told me she was doing a shoot for a RL Magazine. She had themes she wanted to focus on, and I actually had a lot of the clothing she was doing, so we ended up all dressed up in our Digit Darkes Marie Antoinette Gowns, and TPd over to the then most magnificent Le Opera House and she took some pics – One picture she took of me ended up in the actual magazine (Belgium Elle I think it was) and was actually hung in Digits mainstore for many years. We also shot pics of us both in Silks with a furry Master, but those pics are missing lol.

The next most significant photo op for me, was in 2009 around this time of the year, when I endeavoured to put together a book of quotes from as many people as I knew – and met along the way – as possible for Christmas and the New Year, and as usual Grazia was not only beautiful but available to help me by posing and sharing her words of wisdom.

Over the years I have not ever spent enough time with Grazia, I tend to adore her from afar – or more sort of look at her name on my FL and talk myself into deciding she is busy when online so unless an emergency I should leave her be. Not only does she do an incredible job blogging, but she has a pose store – Geez – and a relationship and family she adores, I get the tidbits of that from her comments and such on plurk – Grazia voyeurism FTW – but today is a special day, because today is her Birthday and as a way of wishing her a blessed day I thought I would do this post, inspired by Gidge.

So Happy Birthday Grazia Horwitz, your contribution to not only my Second Life, but so many other peoples has been an incredible gift, and a journey to watch and occasionally take a ride on.

Ok so, the Four Corners event is about to start on the 17th of December. This event spans one sim, and each corner represents a trend in the fashion and homewares industry currently. Such a great idea, and nothing better than having a guideline theme to help motivate and inspire. This Event has definitely inspired too, with producing large collages of each trend to really capture the real essence and to show the designers participating exactly what kind of items to draw inspiration from.

The themes are Bikes & Spikes, Delicate Damsel, Alluring Modesty and Delightfully Bright. To make it even more interesting each corner has a scene laid out that has been comprised of many different household items and decorative pieces, which you can find the information on at the event. Each scene was decorated by one of the four decorators chosen for the event, such a great and fun idea. Then you have the clothing, skins, shoes, poses, hair and accessories to get your buying urges on full throttle.

But wait there is more. Once you have checked out all the areas, you are asked to vote on your favourite, whether you vote on the theme, the scene or the overall group of people is your choice, but one vote per avatar, so choose wisely. This is a fun themed event, and the items available are delightful. I will be showing some over the next few weeks I did spend lots, and not everyone was set up yet, so I will definitely be going back…hope to see you there.

There are so many wonderful Christmas items out and about at the moment. I was able to visit the Old Europe Winter Village earlier today, it was just amazing and you need sounds on to really appreciate it. I did try and take pics there, but had to do a whole new install of my SL because I don’t know what I did the other day taking pics but I managed to somehow make shadows on my av come out jagged but smooth on objects – baffling I know.

I am totally biased though when it comes to my favourite Christmas goodies, because watching someone you know create such amazing items out of thin air and their overly fun imagination always trumps. Such is the case with the Gingerbread items by Whimsy Winx. She created an amazing Gingerscape interactive scene with trees and cocoa cups and marshmallows, it is all so awesome. But for inside the home you can have the Ginger trees with speckles – they also come lightly sugared or without – and of course the Gingerbread Village tray, that when you click gives you a menu that you can pick snickerdoodles, cocoa or candycanes from lol. You can see them and try them at The Deck at her Mainstore too.

I wanted to play around a little with Mesh today also, there have been questions about layering and such, and Mesh not being able to fit over mesh unless made to do so. Well that is ok for now, because the more that is made, the more options will come, and possibly with the Standard Sizing being so similar, you could maybe get away with upping a size and wearing over, who knows. But today I went with sculpt over Mesh, in the form of the adorable Harmony Poncho from Sn@tch. This crocheted poncho comes in a variety of colours in the pack – as Sn@tch shoppers know you always get the item as a pack not singles, but the prices are fabulous so you won’t hesitate. I like the design of this poncho as it is definitely more lightweight than usual poncho designs, so could even be worn over the top of a dress for an evening out, rather than a rugged up look.

I of course am also wearing it over a dress in the form of the Nolita dress from Maitreya, one of the new Mesh items I blogged only yesterday…yes love it. I wanted to wear it with my Polo hat/hair today, and was spending so much time on getting my viewer fixed I didn’t get much further than that. I do also have on the beautiful Calypso set from MOOD, earrings and ring done with a great mosaic style tile look. Very inspired and gifting is a pleasure at the store or marketplace.

I am wearing the new skins by Glam Affair in this post, it is called Linn and as usual the make up is a great mix of day to night, with a clean version I just love and think all skin packs should have as a default. The skin comes with hairbases in blonde or dark, as well as no hairbase options but still with light or dark brows. There are also 5 additional brow tattoo layers, and 5 different brow shapes if you want to change yours. Definitely worth a DEMO DEMO DEMO if looking for a lovely skin with a very stylish set of make ups, and beautiful body detailing.

The boots are also new, the Lyo boots are the latest footwear from Baiastice. They are an ankle boot with the option of socks or no socks, and you also get a HUD that allows you to change the socks colours or also tint to a closer match if coordinating, this is brilliant. The boots come with alpha layers but there is also a V1 invisi prim option for when needed, for all the people that deprive themselves of more than one alpha/tat layers – you know who you are . The leather work is really great, and the strapping is lots of funky fun.
