In the past months, and most recently, it has come to light about yet another DMCA filing between designers. That’s not what this post is about. What we’d like to address here is the “keeping things quiet” aspect of these situations.

We completely understand the need for silence when dealing with said issues. However, one thing that has consequentially occured from doing so is that many, many bloggers are continuing to post on items they are unaware may turn out to be stolen. This is painful in the end for not just the designer – and we totally share your pain in this – but also for the many bloggers who have showcased/reviewed the products, filling their blogs with praise for the items, only to feel let down in the end and ultimately have their own values questioned.

Such widespread covereage on the SL blogosphere also leads to more customers/readers considering the products in question for purchase, and again the bloggers do feel very responsible for that. As many designers know, if a blogger at any time suspects an item’s integrity, they will immediately contact the designer to make them aware of the situation. In a lot of cases, this is what leads to DMCA’s being filed. Not everyone can have eyes everywhere to see their own content has been stolen.

But who looks after us?

Second Life fashion bloggers are valued and sought after to showcase items for many designers, but that is where the respect seems to end. We hold designers in such high regard. If we were told via IM or notecard that something was amiss with the content of one creator over another, we would be perfectly capable of keeping that to ourselves should you request that. Naturally, further blogging on the items in question would cease to occur. We understand that designers dealing with the trauma of having their work stolen may not have considered alerting the bloggers as a course of action in the past, but now is when it is crucial to stand united in this and feel more like a community than ever before.

Keeping it to yourselves is what is letting many content thieves get away with thier thievery. Without an undisputable display of theft, these “content creators” are able to continue producing, and in doing so they will inevitably use bloggers and fashion feeds as tools to spread the word. Bloggers, like designers, also spend many, many hours behind closed doors compiling blog posts and genuinely working hard on their own written content. We don’t always see and hear everything. In the past, too many newer bloggers have been attacked in comments on their own blogs because they weren’t aware of theft with a particular store. That in itself is reprehensible. If you know something the blogger doesn’t, IM THEM and let them in on it. If you don’t want to consider it as helping the blogger, at LEAST think of it as helping the designers that have been stolen from.

We hope that people will help us in the future by letting us know, privately and anonymously if necessary, that there is questionable content making its way around the blogosphere. We have no interest in spreading gossip! But we DO have interest in, as well as obligation to our readers to know about, content theft. Hopefully, in the end, we will not feel like we have to rip our blogs apart and delete older posts (which will consequentially punish other designers who were mentioned and linked to) in order to hide what has been done innocently.

Seriously I was so proud of myself on friday getting two lots of posts ready way early in the day for the next day, only to realise that I posted them in the wrong order. Not that that matters too much but I had shown the owner of Kari this pic and then used a completely different hat pic lol.

Anywho, Canimal has wowed us all with her latest release of the Abaddon dress and the fantabulous Gothdamn shoes. So there they were dieing to be worn when I saw the post of the latest Kari hats, yesterdays Guerilla hat and todays Rude Boy hat. As soon as I saw them I was off and running, the Rude Boy craze was huge here in the 80’s as it was in the UK and surrounding countries , not really sure about the rest of the world.

As soon as I saw the Rude Boy I knew it was Kismet – waves and giggles – the Abaddon dress has a thick cord style fabric with a full length steel zipper underneath a fancy row of eyelet style buttons. Everything a Rude Girl back then would have loved in a dress, and this girl loves now.

Skin tight black jeans, tartan mini’s or a dress just like this one was the uniform so to speak of choice , so I was loving the concept of mixing the items together for this post. The hat was made for boys hence the name, but is mod and has a wonderful texture change script in it too. As I said yesterday I have all of the Kari hats now and cannot wait for more.

In Rude Girl fashion it had to be all about dark make up, I swear Rude Girls I know got their eyeliners down to stubs very fast they were reapplying constantly – probably had allot to do with the make up back then though lol. I am wearing the fantastic Vivant skin by Fleur in the Bilba 3 make up and its just gorgy for this kind of look. Deep plummy lips and black charcoal like eyes, Yummo.

Then we have the shoes, and aren’t they just too pretty. The Gothdamn shoes are available in an assortment of dynamic colours in either the stripe or the dots print, but its all the other little features that just make them so impacting. First off I think the skulls are cute lol , but I was so stoked to find that they are scripted to go invisible, and so are those killer bows. You get the choice of the main colour of the shoe or black as a bow option as well as invisible also.

So one pair of shoes has four ways to wear them, and more if you went mixed up having both shoes different lol. I love the straps across the foot and the lace edging around the rim of the shoes , just divine. Great job by Canimal on making these shoes look so stylish and delish.

Kitties Lair is a store that I have been saving up to post for way too long. I spoke to the creative mind behind the wonderful creations Babette Ultsch a while back, and retouched base recently to be able to show you these stunning outfits and shoes, that will put you in the party mood for the weekend.

Also great timing with the recent release of Damiani’s Michelle version 2 skin release. This first enticing number is the Trinity dress in silver. The other day Mel and I came across a dress similar to this one and it reminded us of Pretty Woman , I am sure you all know the dress I am referring to. So once I saw this dress all I could think was ” if Julia had worn this one she would have gotten Richard to commit much faster”.

The fabric sheen on this dress is stunning, and paired up with the Platform Heels in Silver also from Kitties Lair, well you have an outfit that will make Men stammer. The heels are so high and so lush, the silver texture is dazzling and the inner soles are a soft baby pink, I adore pink and silver together , so subtle in these shoes but so effective.

The hair is one of my favourites Nalirra from Here Comes Trouble, and the Michelle Skin V2 which is even yummier than the first is the Amazing Blue and Peach MakeUp.

If silver isn’t your thing , not sure exactly how it couldn’t be :p, then there is the Cocktail dress Espresso Vine. Wow to put it simply, this dress is just smokin hot. The colour for one is sensational but as well as all the other styles they do come in a range of colours to choose from.

This dress has such beautiful prim work too in the form of the mini ruffled skirt , there are two options , one is just ruffle all around and then there is ruffle with the extra side pieces so that whatever your ao does your dress will move accordingly. I also love that without the prims it takes on vintage style swimsuit look, so sexy.

With this dress I am wearing the Damiani Michelle V2 Smoke Heavy Cherry, stunning MakeUp and so suited to this dress. With the new Selma hair from Here Comes Trouble with its awesome straight style and slight sculpted waves at the front YUMMY.

This next dress had me at hello, I love brown and when its used so artfully its just fantastic. Christina Geometric Brown is just such a dress, the Geometric pattern is divine and the options of lace hemmed tights underneath is fab, I often wear pants under micro mini dresses but rarely think to wear leggings the same way, so having this option already planned was a big plus in my book.

This dress is a little more sedate than the others which means that even though its a great day time dress it can easily go into evening wear. I am also wearing the PeepToe mules from Kitties Lair with the silvery heels they are also divine, you will see below a clearer pic of both styles.

Elena is another new release from HCT and this hair style is a wonderful ponytail with incredible bangs. The Make Up for this look is the Rebel Copper again such wonderful makeup you will have to go and try on all the Demos to see for yourself.

HotRod Pink is another style that can easily go from daywear to clubwear, its all about the tude you take with it. Wonderful belt detailing on the semi faded jeans, and they do come with a boots version too YAY. The pink top is delish, and there is a cute silver thong option also so you can make the set swimwear too.

The tude added is the wonderful Guerilla Hat from Kari , I have all of their hats now and they all look just superb, and as I was saying yesterday with the Gangsta Add On hair from HCT you never need to worry about editing hair for hats again. The Guerilla hat also has a cute little texture change badge on the side with adorable little pictures, and you even get two badges seperate for free to wear with your clothing or to add on to the hat, fun fun fun.

Damiani Michelle V2 Smoke Oriental Pink is perfect for this look as you want the main focus of the colour to be in your top not your face with this one, and look at those eyes peeking out from under the brim of the hat deeeelish.

Did I already mention stammering?, I think I did , well this dress is going to make your partner not only stammer but possibly need oxygen forced back into the brain. The Lacy hot Pink dress is a winner, the texture is incredible in that you really feel draped in something so sexy, I honestly thought I was going to make noises when I walked its so tight but sooo effective.

Laces up both sides and again such incredible looking latex the shading on this is wonderful as is the lighting effects, one thing very hard to do with latex is show where the light would hit and curve across the body, and this does a fantastic job of creating that illusion.

Wearing my other fav HCT hair Saleen which is only 1L for the fat pack. The make up is the Viola Genesis a nice deep plum that goes so well with hot pink in this shade.

First off The Vista Extended Girl AO isn’t yet released, but there are so many others to check out in the store extended or otherwise, if I hear when that one is released I will let you know.

The other day Kit Maitland of CKSDesigns sent me a pic of herself in Latex. Not too surprising as Kit is always sending me pics of random things , the exciting surprise was that this Latex was a New design for her own store.

So once that was established, I of course had opinions as I always do. The first opinion was to dip it lower at the back and show more crack, yes it’s true I did say that , and since she outed me on her own blog I can’t hide the fact.

Kit then sent me the Domina Coat and I raced upstairs – that’s Sasy speak for tp’d to the sky – and tried it on, and wow , just wow the cut and design of the coat is just fab. But one thing stood out, well actually it was two things :P. The Domina Coat ‘had’ nipples effect on the texture , I shouldn’t say had as though its not still there , thing is that its just not now the only option.

There is now both with and without so that if you are a bit modest, or that’s just not the look you are going for with such an awesome coat , you are covered – pun pun punnnn. This is Kit’s first Latex endeavour and I for one cannot wait to see more. The cut outs are fab and the tiny buckles and straps effect on the collar, mid section and the cuffs is just wonderful.

So while I was getting ready to shoot this coat and the fab booty shorts that come with, I realised that because I was outed I was going to have to find a skin that showed that bit more, you see Kit didn’t have to go lower when there are Aussies about taking care of other Aussies lol.

Ashia Tomsen of Ashia Designs has the crack covered- must be an aussie thing lol- , or not covered in this case. She made me a special skin a while back in her Timeless range just with special MakeUp for me as a gift – hugs- So there it was in my A skins folder and it was just perfect for my needs and to point to the pic later to Kit and go SEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE lol. Bum cleavage I guess we can call it , is as cute ‘sometimes’ as chest cleavage, or as sexy for some as toe cleavage in the right killer shoes.

I guess it all depends on your tude at the time. I am also wearing the Over the Knee boots from Storm Schmooz that I haven’t as yet had a chance to show in a post , these are a great combo with the Domina Coat. The leather in these boots has more of a pvc/latex kind of look to them , so if you are a latex wearer they are worth a definite looksy.

Now the Hair , OMGOSH! if I could type that a hundred more times I would, and I came pretty close in Babyboo’s IM box once I unpacked it.
This hair is FANTASTIC! I have always as many of you know been a huge Here Comes Trouble/H.C.T fan, and one of the things that Boo and I always talk about at least every few months is Uppy Do’s, I have always loved her ability to create uppy do styles that can shift from formal to just fashionable with ease, and she has done it again with OOMPH!.

The Hara style is just stunning, you must not delay, you have got to go and try on this and all of the latest releases right this second. From daytime casual, to Corporate business or play it will transition into evening formal with such beauty and grace, I cannot squeel enough about this style.

All those soft flex tendrils are just heavenly and while you are there check out everything else , there are so many styles on SALE right now as well and you have to check out the new collab with her talented guy, the Beanies and Caps and Rags with hair made to fit under them in 30 different colours. TIP: that hair is perfect for having for under hats of any creator as it has no top and only a few whisps of bangs, definitely a MUST HAVE if you are a hat lover.

For a few weeks now the subjects of AO’s have come up in conversation with a few different friends. The other day Fia wanted to change his and I was taken all over Phils Place to find some male stands, as he was tired of his previously long running static AO.

AO’s become part of your ‘look’ in Phils Place, my guy has one or two stands that whenever I see them I think instantly of him, whenever I see cute lots of movement stands I think of Kit. So it really is a big deal to replace your existing with a new one.

Animated stands are very popular and last year there were few to choose from, now there is allot more variety and one thing I like to do is use the advanced settings in character and use the slow animations option to take pics in animated stands and use them as you would static poses.

When we landed at Vista a store with a huge assortment of AO’s and singles, I saw the oppurtunity to not only show a larger range in that format but totally fell in love with so many there, and not just the womens ones but the mens ones were hot too.

I have always encouraged people to buy singles from a variety of stores, that way making their own unique Animation Overrider , but I am also old enough to have held that belief based on the ‘back then’ limited supply of animations, that has changed big time in the last year, fully built AO’s can now be as unique as you are.

Now I was lucky enough to be given an AO from Vista Barnes the creator of the AO packs at Vista , and OMGosh, as I said originally it was just me going to take some pics of slowed down stands to show you how much you can get out of them. As you can see in the pic showing the fabulous new Clothing and HAIR from Layniewear – will go more into that in a sec.

Two stands and 5 pics used, whereas I actually took about 9 pics. But after the last few days of strutting around Phils Place using the Divine Extended Girl AO from Vista I just had to show it on Film, and I didn’t even show it all.

You see this AO isn’t like any I have ever used in Phils Place , it seems that Marcus Gray is now offering all Animators the chance to get their own custom AO made with their very own prims and logo’s used, this will of course mean that finally if you need help from the creator of your AO you will be contacting the correct person if using edit properties.

But it was so much more than that, the AO from Vista has so many more buttons than I have ever seen before, and SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many more animations in the one pack.

Button top left : Walk button that lets you choose from 6 wonderful walks as shown in film

Button top right : Switching to stand button , that allows you to change stands without having to wait for your AO to go through each pose, allowing for you to use the stand you need for that moment if taking pics.

Button next left : Sitting choices button which is loaded with 5 animated sits that are all different enough to cater to anything you are sitting on.

Button next right: Ground sits button with again 5 sits to choose from that are animated and for the ground.

Next left Button: Select Notecard allowing you to choose which AO selection you choose to be your default at that time , which has 3 already filled in notecards for you to choose from.

Next Right Button: Options Menu that has next stand , settings, Help, Typing Ao , Typing Kill (got to love that), Load, Walks , Sit and Stand buttons to choose from.

Next button left : Sit override button on/off so that if you do sit wearing your AO you do not have to remove it or turn it off to sit in the proper sit pose of the furniture , but just turn the sit portion of your AO off.

Next button Right: Help Notecard button, giving you a full notecard of information to help you with your AO

My Favourite Button: ok it’s not called that , but the sit anywhere button is my fav of the bunch , allowing you to just sit wherever you are without having any surface to actually have to be able to sit on, this button once pressed just puts your avatar in the sitting position , animated for a ground sit and very very cute.

Second Last Button: On/Off

Last button: minimise which tucks all the buttons away nicely.

Now with all these functions in the one AO and with all the animations that come with this Vista Divine Extended GirlAO in particular, you will have a blast , and as I said I didn’t even show all of the animations that come in the AO in the film , you will have to go and check all the options out for yourself , so worth doing.

Now back to Layniewear, not only has Laynie Link done some fabulous new clothing but HAIR , oh my goodness isn’t it just adorable. Adra is the name of the style and its just cute little gold coiled buns placed all over the head with beautiful little gemstone clips at the front and pins at the back, really gorgeous and so befitting the Basic Jeans and Buttondown White Shirt which has a wonderful black leather belt on the jacket layer, Yum Yum.

I love this look, especially with working all day and night, it feels light and classy and even though they are jeans the look has a definite professional air about it. So much so that three of us turned up to the Hair Fair meeting last night in the same outfit lol.

The Skin is Alice by Soda in the Minimal Nude Make Up, and the wonderful boots are the Madeline from Dela.

I have had this dress to show for a while, I even took pics of it once and lord only knows where they ended up. So today I decided that it was in definite need to be shown as its just so pretty.
The Winsome dress from Flights of Fancy comes with a huge amount of options, first off you get three skirt lengths, I am showing the short and the Medium in the pic, so long is floor length.

Then you have both options for the wonderful brooch attachment with cascading sash in all three lengths as well, you will enjoy playing with those options , as the really long looks cute with the short and so on.

I need to point out also that the skirts on this dress move so soft and light, its wonderful to watch, the flex is superb. I really like it because it reminds me of Grecian Goddesses, well actually I tell a fib it really reminds me of Wonder Woman and the island she was born on and all those sisters of hers lol.

I am wearing the brand spanking NEW Hair from Kyoot Bedhead Bun in black, this was released just an hour or so ago and is lovely, its exciting to see clothing creators step away from their comfort zone and create other lovelies.

The skin is from Ashia Designs and created by the wonderful Ashia Tomsen, her skills are fab in skins and I just adore the collarbone and chest shading on this skin, and the Freckles OMG how adorable are they smattered across the nose and cheeks. The skin is called Timeless Cat in Rose with Freckles – of course. DEMO DEMO DEMO so you can feel the love too.

A while back too I got sent a folder from Oops, a few cute items in there so it was time to show them to you as well. Firstly is the Golden Eye dress, really cute black and gold detailed halter neck style dress with a cute flexi skirt. Perfect for an evening out dancing, I am wearing it and the previous dress with the Sandstorm Snakeheel Shoes from Digit Darkes , still my all time favourite blend of Gold and Silver in one.

The hair is Formal by Magika and I just love this style for the way it is brought back from the face and hair is wrapped around the length to hold it secure.

This is the Ness set also from Oops, cute cut out top and short shorts , the cutout gives you more of a chance to see the beauty of AD‘s wonderful skin. This is a great lazy day at the beach or shopping at some water side mall outfit.

I am wearing the other fab style from Kyoot which is the Waverly, beautiful suburb here in Sydney which leads to the beach- see perfect outfit and name.

Fine Delight of Something Different sent me the adorable Watermelon tourmaline Jewelry set that is a gift today only, now this is today because its is Fines BIRTHDAY , YAY Happy Birthday and yes that means somehow you are the ones that get the presents, so if you do swing past to pick it up, drop her a IM and say thanks and happy birthday too. The set is just lovely I especially like the necklace as it looks great with this style top.
