blog – In the eye of the beholder
It is such an odd time of year for all the SALES that are going on…for me they will not really hit until after Christmas, because right now there will usually only be the enticing, spend your Christmas money with us, not our competitors…bargains.
One such SALE I went to the other night, had me kind of stunned at how quiet it was, but then again you can only own a whole store once, and so many have been die hard fans for so long, I was actually lucky in the fact that the items that were on sale were ones I didn’t have in all colours.
The Celestial Studios black friday sale, is actually on until the 4th as far as I know, and everything black is only 25L , so it was a bargain to pick up a few things I didn’t already have, and especially as I didn’t have the black version of all three of my favourite pairs of pants from there.
Anyways, moving on, I am showing mainly Beauty Avatar today, but I mixed everything up, to show the versatility of it all. I love mixing and matching, you wouldn’t know it to see me half the time, but that is rollover from constantly changing back to work clothes mid tp lol, it became a habit to not spend time to put together a proper ‘look’ to only be ripped back out of it.
I love the style of the pieces, they do make great backdrops for whole looks, as well as worn as they come. I really like the texture work, the actual style of and in some cases sheen. It isn’t always easy to put together a great fabric with a stylish concept, and these have gone hand in hand with eachother.
The other Beauty Avatar item I am wearing is the Daria skin, this skin is lip smackingly rawr worthy. Soft in all the right places, fit looking but without too much tone to the body shading. I really like the facial features on this skin, as well as the breathtaking lipstick and eyeshadows, but it truly is the high gloss of the lips that makes such an impression.
All the shoes that I am wearing are available at Footwear Expo 2009, there are only a few days left of this annual event, and as a percentage of money from each and every store there goes to help kids this Christmas, it really is worth it to take a look, and maybe pic up some shoes you may have wanted in the past, or something new.
Definitely make time to really explore Beauty Avatar, Whimsy and I helped a girl find a dress there last week or the week before, and you can really lose yourself in all the label has to offer. Take time also to check out the beautiful fountain in the courtyard between areas, it is a trunktacular creation.

More beautiful items from the Footwear Expo, I am loving the diverse range of this years fair. So far there has been an equal kind of ratio on new items and already released. But as I always say ‘everything old is new to someone” so those creators that didn’t get a chance to release new items for the fair, still have an audience.
I got all excited a few weeks back, when I saw the city fur hat from LeLutka, I even mentioned to Minnu that she needed to make us muffs for the cold weather, as I have always wanted one in Second Life, and funnily enough had still yet to find one. Now LeLutka has released a fur hat and muff combo as their LeLook Exclusive for this month.
I went to Elate the other day as mentioned, and was really excited to see a dress called Tuli, which of course makes sense when you realise that the latest Bella skins have a make up called Kellie lol. I decided that I wanted to go all out with the sweater dress. I grabbed one of the latest releases from Nyte n Day, the Just Corset in Sand, and adding a tint got it the colour I wanted. The Just Corset and Just bands are great to completely change, or enhance a look, coming on all layers they rock.
Back to the Tuli dress though, this sweater dress is snuggly, with the large cowl neck and extended sleeves you will feel all huggable in it. The leggings I am wearing are the Zaara’s Nishar Leggings in Ivory – again tinted – to add the same tone to them as the dress…because if I am going to be this warmed up, I need to get into some serious layering. I also at one stage just wore the knee high and thigh high sock versions of the leggings, which also created a fun look.
The sensational Big Sur boots are from YS & YS , they are featured at the footwear expo and are just glorious leather in a great range of colours. They definitely have a lovely lived in look to them, and a definite trip to the cobblers to have them perfectly fitted feet.
Also from YS & YS in the footwear department, is the Illetes Sandals. A roman sandal look, with the added bonus of not just being able to change skin, nails and toe rings, but also the ability to change the metals featured…I went with the bronze as it is a lot softer with the brown shades in the picture.
Again from Elate is the Penelope dress set combo. You not only get the colour top that you buy the outfit in, but also the white. Giving you two looks, and more if you choose to wear the tops on their own with other skirts or pants, or the skirt with different tops, it is all finished well to achieve that. I love the scaled look of the skirts on these dresses, as being a pisces they rock my fishness.
More tones of the beautiful Bella Skin by Tuli than the ones I took the main pics in. I am also wearing a latest release lingerie set from Blowpop, lowrise boyshorts and triangle bra’s called Cassie, which is funny because the triangle bra reminds me of training bras we used to start out with when younger. Most recently Bonds of Australia brought back this look big time here, and the colour coordinating or not contrast look has been featured big time in their ads… so I am chuffed to have that option for Second Life too.

Blog – Mermaid Sasy
Ok so behind behind behind, it’s been an incredibly crazy week. Our group have all been experiencing bloggers bleeps and blunders, no really if I could film it, this week would have been hilarious, frustrating but hilarious.
Skin Fair is still going strong, and I have to catch up on the few days I missed. This is Kelly, she is one of the latest skins by YS & YS. I always like how different these skins look on my shape, as I don’t touch my shape, so it is good to see what features a skin emphasises over another.
They have hair bases, and freckles, as well as light and dark brows options. There is a lovely range of make ups, so you can utilise one line from morning until night, which is always nice.
I was setting up a new store on What’s New SL today, and on my visit to the location I was astounded to find a room full of incredible AO’s, and not your average sit, stand, walk AO’s but amazing theme inspired ones.
From Vamps to Neko’s, Dolls and Puppets, to Robots and Mermaids…seriously they are all there and more. I wish I had known about this store prior to Halloween. They are called CI (Creative Insanity) and you really need to give them a whirl. There are also some fabulous dollarbie animations.
Whimsy of Virtually Dressed and I couldn’t resist picking up the Mermaid AO while there, it not only has wonderful animations, but also a full clam display poseset with one pose for pic taking, and that is where I thought it ended, but NOOOOO you also get a full Mermaid outfit in different colours, as shown in the pic up top in the blue. Really well put together and a bargain believe me.

Crazy
So last week when I posted on SK I said that I went to another store on the way home. Much the same as previous it was a crazy buying spree. The items vary in style, but they all have a definite charm, and with the prices being wickedly reasonable it all works to get your sexy on.
These are my favourites of the items I purchased, and yes I got more than this, but I think all up I was there for less than ten minutes, it was that fast and furious lol. The first set is definitely theme wear, as are a few of the items, but so much fun, and definitely a great chance to again wear my Surf Co. cowboy hat- even if it does take off my piercings , argh I so have to do a new attachment for that hat.
With some of the items from Crazy, yes that’s the name of the store, you will need to make slight adjustments. Such was the case with the pants to this set, as they are as long as pants go, that meant the mesh flared and as its open at the ends with skin exposed it doesn’t look so hot, but as they are definitely boot wearing pants, it didn’t matter, just shortened a touch and all was fine. The scarf came with and the colour of that is just lovely, a real sunset look with the worn in tshirt, which is sheer by the way.
The next set is fun for swanning about as I do, very sexy and fun to wear, you could add a skirt as I have done with other looks such as this on occasion. Janis the puffy blouse and Denim overalls romper look is HOT HOT HOT, there is so much to love in this combo, one thing that stands out is the fact that they have created a really natural looking piece of jewelry for the neck on a clothing layer as part of the look. Jewelry on clothes is a great thing, but can be hard to pull off, but as this is a leather necklace with a pendant it really works well.
The Janis set also comes with the belt, so its all systems go straight out of the package. Another club ensemble with hot pants and a lovely lacey edge looking boostier, these sets are just fun, no matter how many you have. Road, what better name than for this one, a greasemonkey I’m not, but if I was to pull apart an engine I’d want to look like this. The tattoo parts of this are so fun, the grease stains and tiretracks lol, even the chain link belt is wicked.
The Umma set is my fav fav, I did have to wear the bra from the Glam set though. The shorts are fabulous in tweed, and the cinched vest wench look really floats my boat. I could talk all day on these items but I wont, not today…today you have to go out and see for yourself.
The skin I am wearing is Yasmine from YS & YS , a deep rich tone, with and without hair base, with black or brown brow options. So many variations to choose from. The make ups are very striking and really worked for these looks today, my favourite features would have to be the shiny lips and cats eye make up. THe body of the skin is as usual beautiful, demo demo demo as there has recently been three new skins added to the stores range.
All of the hair I am wearing is by Mirai, some old some new, the New is the one featured the most lol, I really love that Mirai recently seemed to change textures to a little softer than they were for a while. They have such a wonderful range of hair styles, especially for lovers of big hair.
The Rodeo boots are by Adam n Eve , and I really do like the shape and style of these boots for a cowgirl theme look. I also decided to take the BAX Prestige boots for another spin, so they feature in the rest of the images.
