Reminders that we have Wear Gray still on, and the upcoming Pose Fair 2012 is in full swing, as pose makers are busy making new and exciting pose sets for release, you can see them uploading teasers all over flickr, it is exciting. Collabor88/April has started and the theme is French New Wave, and as usual the designers involved did a wonderful release.

Today though I am featuring one of the recent releases from Maitreya, which is their Mesh Zipper Skinny Jeans. As soon as I saw these and then put them on it was love, being the right age in the 80’s meant these were a staple item, whether in classic blue denim or a more rugged black, they were all the rage. The mesh is shaped perfectly to form the bottom, and seriously my bottom is yummy in these, that is one thing that MESH has really done wonders for, the fact that we spend so much time looking at our backs, now the view is sublime.

Wearing with some wonderful items from Collabor88 too, the bra top from Boom is just gorgeous, so cute and chic all at the same time. The top in pink I am wearing is actually part of a dress from Callie Cline for Collabor88 but going with the theme I wore it as a top instead.

The must haves accessories wise from Collabor88/April are the incredible glasses from Yummy and the so adorable ring from Whippet & Buck, I have always been a big fan when W&B Branches out into jewelry pieces, it is rare and it shouldn’t be, more more more.

LeLutka released three new Mesh styles today, and they are now mod. Rigged Mesh cannot be edited to change size though,but with it being mod, you can still tint it, and mesh tints really well and fun. I was playing with shadows as well, I don’t usually shoot in shadow in my VR Studio but today took a chance on my viewer shadows working, it is often hit and miss for me, but today was ok.

I also wanted to take the time to mention again that Pose Fair is just around the corner. Katey Coppola the organiser of the event, posted a pic of a sneak peak of the build, and I agree that it looks fabulous. Perfectly decorated to inspire and motivate, really well done by Isla Gealach of Cheeky Pea.

Some more goodies from the Wear Gray for a Day event that is on at the moment. You really should take the time to visit, or in fact revisit as many times as you can during the event times, as there are lots of things going on, including a hunt. My previous post includes the slurls for all the stores, so you can find them with ease, or you can use the maps available on the website, linked above.

Speaking of events to make note of, the upcoming Pose Fair 2012 is one such event. It starts on the 15th of April and will cover two sims this year. There is a family PG orientated one, and a more Mature/Adult version so that people from all animation/poses stores can share their wares with the world. Great idea, and I am looking forward to seeing the abundance of new items. These events are not only great to shop at, but also as a way of gathering landmarks and information on stores that you can visit in the future. So even if on a budget, always attend and look at everything you can.

This adorable mesh dress that I am wearing is from Cracked Mirror, and it is one of their Wear Gray for a Day donation items, so be sure to check the lovely prints available. At the time I purchased the demo for the style of dress was available on the left in the solids option, so if you don’t see one with the donation items, look to the left for the other options on the same dress.

The citrus coloured look was so fun, and I ended up staying in this look for the day. The sweater is actually from MichaMi and was a recent The Dressing Room item, so be sure to check her main to see if it is released yet. I am very excited that Milla is doing Mesh, cannot wait to see her collections grow. The leggings are lime lusciousness by Somnia from Wear Gray for a day also, the colours together are too divine, and so perfect with the new Timber Boots from Miel, that come in either a naturals pack or a brights pack. The lemon option is of course from the brights, and you have the chance to change everything about them colour wise. The straps, laces, soles, shoes, socks, stripes and sizes. There are also mens versions, so be sure to take everyone you know when you are going to try them.

The sexy low-rise jeans from Sakide, are their Wear Gray hunt item for the event, they also come with a great sweater as well, but I opted to wear this stunning tank top from Baiastice’s new collection. I really like how it crosses over at the bust line, and it actually looks really cute with a top with sleeves underneath. The beautiful earrings I am wearing are from Sigma, also at Wear Gray, they have beautiful textures and a great design/style, so be sure to check them out while you are there.

Now the skin. Jen is the latest skin from League, and long awaited is an understatement, as Nena has been working on this skin, and her whole skin section of her store. The new space is just beautiful, all set out to look like an upmarket cosmetics showroom, there are even really beautiful change rooms for added privacy when trying demos. The Jen skin comes in 7 tones, with dark and lighter brow and hair base options, the dark is a skin option, the lighter/blonde is tattoo base. There are also NAILS cover layers, in tattoo and gloves so that you can wear fake nails without having to tint match YAY for those. There are lovely freckles for across the bridge of the nose, and three cleavage options as well as breast minimisers in two other tattoo options. You can purchase Jen as a single make up, or there are two mini packs with 8 make ups each, or the full Fat Pack option. The mini packs come with the lipsticks on tattoo layers in the lovely gloss looks, but the fat pack has the additional same colours in matt lipstick. So this skin has an abundance of options. The face is beautiful and the body is sexy as all get out, so DEMO DEMO DEMO

Important : Dearest Mesh Creators, please when packaging and creating your items, make the item you have created attach to the location it would normally be if a sculpt or prims. Such as chest, pelvis etc. So far this week no less than three times I have been out and worn a bag to unpack and lost an item of clothing. Hand is not an attachment for clothing, yes we have the add option now, and we have multiples etc, but we only use add if we are aware of already having something on that layer, and I will never assume my hand is a location for my clothing. Also on a side note, if you do find your clothing does attach somewhere it shouldn’t you can change the attachment point by choosing a new one, and if the item is rigged mesh you will not have to edit in any way at all, so this procedure takes all of 3 seconds, but doesn’t mean designers shouldn’t do it first 😛

Hi all, I would love it if you would consider Voting on this Jira I made regarding Group Spaces. The Jira is asking that the Lindens make the groups we own for business, not count against group spaces. Anyway, other than that it has been a lovely morning so far. First off I ran around with Whimsy doing some shopping, but then I fell in love with my hair, not the hair itself, even though I do love the style, but this is LOVE LOVE for the new texture pack.

Ploom has added the Pony Pack to their collection of great textures, and this is not a new concept for them, those that were die hard Deviant Kitties fans, will remember that they did packs like this years ago, so it is just awesome that they have brought back the options. I really liked the blonde based ones, but as soon as I put on the reds it was squee worthy, then the amazing plum tones are just gorgeous also.

The colours went superbly well with the leather pencil skirts from Ricielli, these are high waisted, and really lovely texture work, perfect shading and just very elegant looking. At the moment for Easter, Ricielli is having a huge 20 Egg Easter Hunt, and trust me I have never ever gotten through a hunt so fast. There are 20 items scattered throughout the sim, and each one contains amazing items, each egg is set to sale for 15L each so thats a 300L investment for 20 amazing items. Lots of Mesh and all sorts of items. The Mini Top I am wearing again from Ricielli is a great top for highwaisted clothing, not only is it a lovely style, but the way it is constructed alludes to the idea that more of it is tucked into the skirt and the top is puffed out, I really like the effect.

One of the great things about mesh, other than the obvious movement and detailing, the textures look amazing. Now we can have things such as sequin look as incredible as they should, and the sweater I am wearing is definitely wonderful in Mesh. Also with prints mesh doesn’t distort as textures and sculpts can sometimes do, so this tank from Baiastice is lovely, I really like the colours, but also the print, it is very peacock looking. The colours go great with the Lost Eden Cross necklace from Maxi Gossamer. I am also wearing my new cuff bangle from Leverocci, that has texture change cuff, and these fantastic over sized chunky stones.

Also from Leverocci are the Mesh boots I am wearing. These are modifiable, so you can resize if needed in edit, I did have to play with them a bit to get the right fit around the backs of the calves and even had to move them a smidge or three. But worth it as they are great looking, but definitely DEMO DEMO DEMO.

Wear Gray for a day starts April 6th 2012

I counted down the minutes until the early access time was upon us. Wear Gray for a Day 2012, is in its final stages of set up, and I had the pleasure of getting in early so that I could share some information with you all. This is an incredible event, that was started by Sanura Snowpaw, with the added help of Arora Zanzibar – both very passionate about this cause-  they have organised a simply wonderful event. The builds are lovely, the set up is great, and there are a huge amount of things going on during the occasion. You can get all that info on the website.

There are special vendors set up for this event, where 100% of the items goes to the charity, so be sure to check out all the goodies in those first, so that your spending goes to a worthwhile cause. I have a friend, he was a good mate as we say down here, he was actually one of my best friends boyfriends, and we used to chat for hours whenever we spent time in the same space. Then they started living together and he changed, he was mean, so mean that I never left their flat without crying. I couldn’t understand why, it was so upsetting. This went on for nearly a year, it seemed at the time like a lot longer. He got the flu, and was sick for a few weeks, and didn’t seem to be able to get rid of it, then one day while walking home he passed out, one minute walking next minute waking up on the pavement. Again they thought it was being weak from the flu, but they decided to check into it, the Doctor did tests and so shocking was that there was a tumor. He was operated on and it was removed, and he was lucky, so lucky in fact that while all this was going on they found out my best friend was pregnant.

He got better and they got to have a beautiful boy together. He also stopped being mean, so I got my friend back as well. I am so grateful for all of that, the fact that my friend made sure he sought help, that his Doctor didn’t just say go home and take two aspirin and get over it, but did tests, tests that saved his life. It is definitely also things like the American Brain Tumor Association that Wear Gray for a Day is supporting that go a long way to educating and helping those that have conditions like he did. So please, make sure you attend and do your bit to help, because every day with the right funding, these charities are getting closer to real breakthroughs in medicine and helping support those that need it, when going through such awful illness.

I took pics of all the stores that were already set up, and I made slurls for them all as I went. You can see that there are amazing stores involved and giving of their talent. Also this event had so many stores that were new to me, which will make this definitely a fun event to explore.

I am wearing a mix of items from Wear Gray for a Day 2012, the pants are a hybrid Mesh and texture mix from Elymode, their donation item. The hair also a donation item is from Discord Designs and is a beautiful braided mesh style. The cardigan which I love and had on when I arrived is from Ison but at Fashionably late the event at the Chic sim – last one there before it closes so be sure to check that out also. The poses I am using are from Wear Gray event, made by Frozen Panty Poses, funnest name and wonderful poses, make sure you grab them all. The eyelids and lashes I am wearing are MESH and from SLink, the closed lids are so wonderful for pics, and are tintable with ease, they start off with a skin base, colour, and I tinted them a colour colour so that they blended in with make up from the skin. So much fun, looking forward to using them more in the future.

Wear Gray for a Day runs from April 6th through to April 22nd. It’s a gathering of SL designers from across the grid of all styles and genres, coming together for two weeks of fundraising to raise funds to go towards the American Brain Tumor Association to aide in the awareness, research and in aiding those that suffer from brain tumours/cancer.

Wear Gray for a Day was first launched in Second Life in 2009 by Sanura Snowpaw, who had lost a close family member to brain cancer. She started Wear Gray in honour of his memory, and to help raise funds towards various Brain Cancer Research foundations. So far since 2009 Wear Gray for a Day markets have raised over $3,000 USD to various research foundations. This year we hope to go bigger and better.

Show your support and come shop at the Wear Gray market this year and help us support the American Brain Tumor Association. Every store has at least 2 items that are 100% of proceeds towards the fundraiser. There is also a sim wide hunt with hunt items costing you 10L and all proceeds from those will also go towards the charity. To locate the hunt items , look for a hunt sign in front of stores. Those hiding hunt items in their store will have a sign out front to make it easier for you.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Whimsy Winx, well it’s her Aussie Birthday at least. There are only a few more days left of the Collabor88 month, so before the next session, make sure you go and grab things you may have left behind on an earlier visit.

For one thing these shoes I am wearing from Ison are a MUST HAVE! The colour blocking is fabulous, and the heel is inspired, very nice design, and they are mod and resizable with a script, so two options of ease.  So definitely do not miss out on those from Collabor88 because the price is amazing. The Sheer shirt I am wearing in one of the pics of me is also a Collabor88/March item from Ison, it does actually come with a bodysuit layer underneath, but I wanted a more baring option, so wore it with a vintage fuller bra that I had from Ingenue.

The Bailey shorts are Mesh shorts from BeetleBones, they come in such rich and vibrant colours, and I love the length and style/cut of them, all in Standard Sizing and perfect for mixing and matching looks. I just had to pull out the Joey shirt from Cynful for another run, this time with colour, as I have only shown in white in the past. A great fit, and beautiful structure, the colours are wonderful and I especially like this slate and dark turquoise option I am wearing in both pics. The dark turquoise even matched my hair from RedMint.

Recently Cynful released these great denim jeans and these super tiny mesh mini skirts. They are so fit specific that they actually came without alpha, because there is not enough fabric to wear one with, well there is, but with the alpha stretching, it would probably stretch where the mesh doesn’t go…so they are in many sizes, more than the standard. I wore mine over the jeans though, I LOVE THIS LOOK, seriously so fun and cheeky without being cheeky, mind you in Cynful clothing if I turned around, there would be lots of cheeky. Make sure you try on the demos, and buy everything in sight. I am looking forward to more Mesh from Cynful, so far the choices have been spot on.

I think that for many Second Life Residents, there are transitions when it comes to fashion and what one wears. I don’t necessarily mean things like seasonal changes, or price variances. I myself joined Second Life back in 06, but I don’t think the stages vary that much, I just think the quality and abundance has grown over the years. I joined Second Life and was excited about everything I saw, and experienced. At first everything is so exciting in the realms of ‘ I can be and do anything ‘ and then there is also the sexuality nature of being a virtual being all of a sudden – I don’t mean sex as such, but more the energy of being able to take charge of every part of your presence, and how that makes you feel, the outcome can be very alluring. You can change how you look, feel and what defines your real life, with just a few numbers on sliders, colour of hair, eyes and even skin.

Back to clothing though, I like many went through the schoolgirl outfits and the flirty looks. Day two in SL I actually modeled a Goth Schoolgirl outfit, so that was definitely fun, and I got to keep the outfit. Sheer was exciting and naughty and revealing was the norm, especially with the amount of themed events that were all over the grid every day and night. I had a beautiful lace blouse that I wore with a classic long tulle skirt, I loved being able to look sexy but with that air of classic elegance. So the quick little flirty outfits soon turned to more classic lined pieces. There is also the learning curve in Second Life, the understanding that clothes are made up of parts, and what may look like a dress in an ad, is still a top and bottom, and can often be separated to wear with other options. All of these things add up to little pieces of a soon to expand inventory. Our growth also expands to the grid itself, the places we travel to; to find more amazing stores and searching for everything else that goes into putting the final touches to a look.

We still go back and forth to the fun and flirty looks, but I do think that all of us grow and learn to appreciate the beauty and elegance of more classic styled pieces. The maturity of fashion itself, and how refined elegance can be even more sexy and arousing overall. Even if jeans and shirts are your go to pieces, the quality and what you will accept and not accept in your purchases will grow and change over time. I love that about Second Life, how people seem to follow very similar patterns, leading up to discovering the very same stores as those before them, and it just repeats through hundreds and thousands of residents… thank goodness it does because if we all just went straight to the end game, it wouldn’t be as exciting as the trip it took to get there.

Today’s looks are very classic in style, and pretty much an abundance of mesh. Not Mesh though are the pieces from Happy, the beautiful high waist pants and lovely sheer sleeved top are just beautiful and so pretty to look at. The pants have a sash belt attachment that just adds that little more that makes them stand apart from others. Happy does such beautiful items, and wow has her store grown over the past year, the collection is huge, and so many wonderful separates to create amazing looks.

The mesh clothing in the first and most of the second picture are from Baiastice. Baiastice has been releasing amazing selections of mesh items, and the colours and prints are imaginative and refreshingly vivid. The strapless top on the far left is beautifully structured, and I really like the texture a lot on this top. The sweaters are all lovely too, especially the Shirley one with the lower back and ribbon bow accent at the back. Cute and sexy are the Cortes shorts, folded cuffs just add to their charm. These would look great also with leggings underneath or opaque stockings/pantyhose. The middle me in the second pic is wearing one of the new pencil skirts from Maitreya, the rose pink is just lovely, and the length and fit of these skirts are great. they are highwaisted and just charming as hell. There is a new VIP Group for Maitreya now, and if you join and wear your tag, there is a pencil skirt gift at their main counter in their store, so make sure you grab that when you are there, as I do not know how long it will be set out.

The four styles of hair I am wearing are all from Wasabi Pills, they are the Dominique 1 & 2 and the Annette 1 & 2, great styles with the Annettes being modify as they aren’t rigged. The skin is Cassandra by Izzies, a beautiful skin with so many options of make up layers, eyeshadows and lipsticks all separate, and then also you can get additional lip gloss and eyeliners. As usual the skins themselves come with cleavage, dark and lighter ( not blonde ) brows and freckles options, and the wonderful glove layer that allows for a perfect add on fake nails base so that your skin nails don’t show. DEMO DEMO DEMO them all.

So daylight savings ended for us yesterday, which came as a surprise to me, seeing as the computer does all the hard work for me.  Now it means another lot of timezones I have to remember again, it sure gets confusing at times.

Now speaking of time, the last week of Collabor88 for the month of March is upon us. So be sure to get everything that you like for the month as soon as you can, because you don’t want to miss out on the lovely organica themed items.

Some of the items in this post are the ombre tank, the board shorts and the adorable flats. The tank and board shorts are from tres blah, and the tank is a mesh hybrid, texture top and the bottom is mesh which is just great and allows for a much better fit. The jeans I am wearing underneath are the latest Mesh jeans from Mon Tissu, part of their release with the grand opening of the lovely Mayfair sim. The jeans come with both flats and heels options which is great as the ends are shaped accordingly.

The Jersey dress in black that I am wearing is also a hybrid mix, the style is so cute, like an oversized tank, pulled up and tied at the waist, very cool look. I like also that it can look both dressy and casual, depending on what you wear with.

To add some dressiness I am wearing the new headpiece from LaGyo that is just a beautiful over sized flower with dewy details on the petals. All of the hair I am wearing in this post are New releases from Exile. Three beautiful Mesh styles, with wonderful detailing, the prelude style has lovely little gold rings in various places throughout the hair.

It is a week off, but I wanted to let you know that Wear Gray is coming on April 6th. Wear Gray is an annual event, and has such a great reason for being, as explained on the website, so do all you can to support this great event, and mark your calendars. The event is advertised on my sidebar, so if you lose the link you can get it there.

As you know I love the mesh hybrids out and about lately, especially the micro minis.

The ones I am wearing today are from Elymode, and have such a great mix of styles and colour options to mix and match. They are hybrid mesh, because the flap between the legs at front and back is half mesh and half regular prim, so the front moves with your legs beautifully and the back is still modifiable in edit for a better fit against your bottom. The fact that with all this new technology we get such sexy items is a bonus.

The hair I am wearing is the other new release from Elikatira, I like the high top of this half updo style, it is very pretty with a nice twist wrap at the back. A great princess type style that works so well casual or formal, and everything in between.

The boots I have on are from Maitreya’s latest release, these slouchy style, over the knee wedge heeled boots are just lovely, the soft suede leather is beautiful and the slight slit up the back is just marvelous for realism. The skin I am wearing is Leah from Glam Affair. This skin comes with three hair colour options, blonde, dark and red. The red is fantastic and as the skin has freckles I can see it being incredibly popular. Also I do believe it was named after the lovely Leah McCullough, she did a lovely job of modeling the skin..you can see that and other great pics she does HERE. Be daring and try all the colours of brows and the hair bases are awesome. There are also additional freckles available as well as lots of great lipsticks.

IMPORTANT:

Another interesting factoid that LL has neglected to make public, or at least it is not something I was aware was their own input into our lives. I like many thought that it was in fact a griefing thing.

So here it goes…if you have seen floating rubber duckies floating around lately, or strange yellow and black pyramids, YOU ARE NOT BEING GRIEFED. This is actually LL’s SECRET way of letting us know that MESH has not rezzed in that area. Nice of them to let us know, seeing as people have been freaking out all over the place for the past two weeks because of it.

Another tidbit, not so dramatic, but certainly attention grabbing, is that the 3rd Crazy Hair Hunt starts on the 31st of March. This is hugely exciting news as many of the participants are not usually hair creators. This is an event many look forward to every year, and it is run by Treebee Withnail. The hunt goes all over SL and has many incredible stores involved. The last time Whimsy did it and she made hair with rats and pencils and eyes and it was the creepiest thing EVER. This year she is much calmer. The theme is Flora and Fauna, and the hair I have seen her unpack so far has been INCREDIBLE. This is not an event to watch others do and talk about, this is one that is a must do. So grab your friends and do the rounds, there are over 50 stores involved and the hair concepts are amazing.

You can join the in world group on the 31st to get info and great clues etc. Every store will lead to the next, and I am pretty sure there will be bound to be lots of blogs covering it.

The items I am featuring today are a mix of old and New, the newness comes in the form of the gorgeous Caramel hair by Elikatira, beautiful curls and long locks, framing the face beautifully. There are actually two new styles, this is just one of them, so go and demo and shop lots. The other Newness is from Toki Doki, first off MODIFY SHOES! These are awesome as they are Mesh and wedge and runners so they are so fun and fashionable. The fact that they are mod is a bonus, because adding a little in the size area is great, also because I am wearing the prim socks with built in feet that you can make not there – from Maitreya – being able to size them a bit made them fit perfectly.

The other great Mesh items from Toki Doki are the great travelers bags, big and oversized with lots of pockets makes them all win, and then you have these beautiful loose cami style tops. Beautiful prints and plains in a variety of colours. They aren’t Standard Sizing they come in only three size options, BUT I did fit the medium just the same as I do in SS, so they may be very close if not the same, or they just didn’t do the xs and xxs 0nes.

The other skin I was telling you about from YS & YS is the Roxanne, and yes I sang it all the way through my taking pics, or at least burst into that one line I know at random times. The skin is delightful, and the make ups as usual are gorgeous, I really love the liner underneath in the ice colours, they always win me with that. The lips are fuller in this skin, and it does have all the amazing options YS & YS usually include, also the teeth option, but you can see that when you try the demo demo demooos.
