Enough looks for a week. I have been doing some other things with Whimsy all week and it has been exciting. But really wanted to take the time to put together a whole lot of different looks featuring one or two items all the way through.
In the first pic I am featuring hair from Magika, her latest releases are just stunning, Sabina has totally nailed Sculpted hair and I am so looking forward to seeing what she has in store for us in the future. I also would love to see more of the wavey styles such as Kelly on the right, that style is super sexy, and those waves are perfect.
The latest shoes from Orange Creations are really pretty, with their strappyness and really nice colours. I especially like the option to change the straps to brown or black, and played on that throughout the post. The presets for skin are very helpful as well as nails and size options, the HUD works really well, I did have to move mine though as it took off my VR Studio HUD and that just won’t do.
When I last went to BP* I just about threw myself at the wall to get the adorable cropped denim jacket, it is so cute, makes you feel all little and stuff. Not only was it perfect to wear with the Jeans version of the Melanie shoes, but the Jules skirt by Maitreya matched in denim so well I was stoked.
I also wanted to wear the jeans texture with something a little dressier, so the vintage dress from Niavi was perfect, I hope Zoe is making lots more clothing, her style is fabulous, and her talent can only get better. This dress is simple and yet perfect for date night.
Whimsy and I went exploring the other day, and I came across Mikan. I haven’t to my knowledge been there before, and the hair is just gorgeous, especially the one in the middle which I couldn’t get enough of, the texture the curls, it has that straight from the surf dried by the sun look about it I love.
All three wonderful styles are from there, and the one on the left which is incredibly striking was only 1L and a gift hair on the floor near the lucky chairs. The latest releases from Fri.day remind me of Canimal and her trip to the UK, when she came back she did a huge punk themed release, and this one totally reminds me of the mod girls of the 80’s.
The pic in the middle should have a blouse but I couldn’t resist the without it look, but still keeping the collar and tie, and how awesome does the Byzantine Cross necklace look poking through the tie, I look like a Catholic Girls Gone wild promoter. The reverie dress has so many options, you get the shirts on their own to wear as shirts, you get the inbuilt shirt with top of dress look for that uniform look, and you get the dress on its own, and it is HOT HOT HOT. The simplicity of it is what makes it so sexy.
Now onto the white Melanies, this is where I ended up stopping only because once I got the middle look; I refused to change from it lol. On the left though we have the Tease dress by Luck Inc, and you only get a tease, because no way will you see the front. It is definitely an exposing dress, I can wish that CK had done a more modest version, but pfft not likely. But I do get to save it for private time :P.
The jumper on the right is a delightful casual look for those that love the Luck Inc style, It is modest enough, but the back cut out still keeps it all sexy, and it is something that can be worn at anytime. Even the sexier stores have to give their customers something to sit on a couch and cuddle in watching tv, cannot always be looking like you cannot wait to tp to the next party.
The middle look is what I will spend the rest of the day in, even though the jeans are cheek flashers, the tank dress totally covers that, and makes the whole look a touch more stylish especially with the new Lucid belt from Fri.day. I love mid torso belts, and this thin one is aces.
The skin I am wearing throughout the post is the latest Elle skin from Belleza. There are twenty make ups on this skin, with hair base and cleavage options. I think that Elle has a style to the face that means you can be playful and youthful, or classy and mature, which is exactly what one wants in a skin line, especially if you do like to play around with lots of looks, but prefer one skin.
Make sure you try all the demos, and if you haven’t done Belleza before try them all not just Elle, because you never know, an older skin may be more to your liking.
I am wearing the latest nails from Exodi, in the silver, which gives you options of embelishments such as glitter, you can buy them as singles ( I couldn’t find a pack ) for only 100L they have three sizes and are MOD MOD MOD so yay for real fitting capabilities.

Girly Girl
I am a city girl, and I am staying that way. Lately I have seen a lot of very casual releases from stores, like so casual it has been stressing me out. Is it trend ? is it what is being seen in fashion mags, or T.V ? or is it just simply just that people have given up on dressing up ?
I have literally sat on my bed RL in tears on a sunday morning around the mid 90’s , because I have realised I don’t have a damn thing to wear to a christening. All of my clothing was going out wear, or business/work attire, I just didn’t do day time – I was usually not awake – that day after sending my boyfriend (then) around the bend, had to resort to mums wardrobe for at least a dressy shirty/sweatery thing of some kind that wasn’t black.
Don’t get me wrong, I like jeans and shirts and items of that kind in SL too, but we seem to have them coming from all directions. They are nice to throw on once in a while, but they will never be an only choice for me.
Second Life gives us the chance to wear things we wouldn’t wear – such as fantasy or RP, or just full on high fashion pieces – everyday, but it also allows us the chance to show off our own fashion sense, and seriously the leaning towards ubercasual is starting to really concern me. I want more frou frou dresses, I want girly fabrics and trims, and things that go swoooooosh when I walk.
I want big hats, and pretty make up…I want, I want, I want, I wannnnnnt – laughs so hard, if you have ever seen the movie Threesome you will remember that awesome break down Lara had lol.
Anyway, rambling aside…today I wanted to dress it up, both dressy going out, and dressy day time casual. No christenings, but the second look would totally be how I would dress for a daytime activity, especially with all the upcoming summery events.
Both looks are just beautiful to wear, a mix of older pieces and much newer… I am featuring skin by Uzuri, that has a beautiful hair base, so nice in fact that in the first pic I went with it alone. In the second I went with one of the hair base hairstyles from LAQ.

There are reasons that dresses are classics, and this dress is no exception. The cut and style to it reminds me so much of that Manager in a beauty salon, or walking the floor at some upmarket department store in the early 70’s.
Not to say that it is a uniform look, but the opposite, a very stylish staple that gives off a professional air. It is the kind of dress, that once you find it, you cant afford to not buy more than one, knowing that the amount of use you will get out of it means you will want back ups.
Shown here with other lovely staples from the wardrobe, you have looks that can easily go from the workplace, to a day out with friends, or to an early dinner date. Cool or warmer weather, depending on your tastes, some accessories like the ones worn and you are set.
This delightful dress comes from the talented sewing table of Zoe Demar, last week when I blogged her jacket, I did not realise that she was in fact cooking up a whole store of goodies, opening today. You will find a lovely handful of items already released, and more to come.
Niavi is the name of the store, and its a beautiful build as well, so make sure you go and visit it and the other great stores in the mall space.
All of the pieces that I am wearing with the Classic Black Dress, are from Nyte n Day. Another incredible resource for true staples, it’s taken weeks to pry Whimsy out of her Essential Jeans. The pieces are all either sold seperately or are part of a set, and either way you will get much use out of them all.
I am so glad too that Nyte has taken some time to revisit her older items, and is slowly doing a version 2 on some favourites *chants TIFFANYYYYYY* Nyte n Day is honestly one of those stores where you could easily just sit and watch, or sit and think over wardrobe ideas. I always feel really relaxed in that store, even though it is rather large it doesn’t feel overwhelmingly so.
New Hair from Exile, this full but short style is just gorgeous. I can see this being a much loved fav for many , including myself as a go to for short but sexy hair. Make sure you also check out Woo’s for these fun pearl sets, combining different strands to make new and interesting sets.
