    Don’t worry Bee happy

    Electra

    Bees through the Seasons 1

    Bees through the Seasons 2

Every once in a while I put out a random challenge for people to comment on blogs. In the past it has been 10 comments in one day, but some find that difficult, so I changed it. I approached Katya Valeska with the challenge, and she was kind enough to put it on the SL Bloggers Support blog, spreading the word through the group, and letting people know of this idea. I was over the moon when I couldn’t sleep the other night, opened up Iheartsl and there at the top of the feed was this post by Sophee Mojo about it, I had not seen the SLBS post as of yet, so I was so excited to see Sophee do this.

    I wrote:

This would hopefully turn into an ongoing practice. The idea is that ten times a week you comment on a blog post by another Second Life blogger. Each comment should be on a different blog, and should show support for what it is that bloggers do. A small comment such as ‘ great pics’ or ‘ really loved the styling’ or ‘ I found that information useful’ depending on what type of post it is, can really bring a smile to the faces of bloggers. If for some reason the blogs you choose do not have commenting available, then consider commenting on their Flickr pictures.

We all know how much effort and passion goes into blogging, so with that in mind, go forth and comment your hearts out.

I do hope that you take on this challenge, and even if you don’t do ten a week, just one could really have an impact on someones day. It can be months of radio silence, and I have heard comments made to the effect of “does it matter that I blog at all ?” or “Do people like what I do ?” I think it is incredibly important to let people know that it is, and that it does matter. Without blogs Second Life can be a very big and overwhelming grid, and with the help of bloggers and their insight and tips, tricks and tutorials…it can definitely make it a little more manageable. I love when I get comments, and I love hearing from people in world about my blog, sometimes the IMs are to help find something I blogged, or just to ask questions about blogging, but it is because of blogging that those IMs come my way and I am grateful for that.

Now onto the fashion. This Electra hair is one of the three NEW styles released by LeLutka. I was lucky enough to have this one early, so for a week or so, off and on, I was hiding away in my sky platform loving it.. The longer I wore it, the more I became smitten by it, and especially the fact that the baby tendrils at the front are wonderful, if you also wear the hairbases that have similar tendrils at the hairline.

The style can be worn with many items, but I was definitely thinking of the Boho Baby dress from DCNY when planning the post, and it came out a great look. The dresses have incredible texture work, and the colours and vibrancy of the print, really make them something special. The solid contrast details add a lot to the look too, and I was especially excited that the blue was a great match with the shoes I chose to wear by Celoe.

The jewellery I have on is a mix of Epoque, which I am excited to see doing more mesh…with this great shard necklace and earrings on the left. It comes in five different colours, and this obsidian one was just perfect. The ring I have on is from LaGyo and is part of the fantastic Bees through the Seasons event that starts tomorrow…the designer list for this event is fantastic and the build is just stunning, so be sure to set aside the time to attend that, over and over again, as it will run for a month. The long silver necklace is one of the single strand versions of the Santa Fe necklace by Maxi Gossamer, that is at FaMESHed this month, so be sure to get over there before it ends, which is really soon.

I got a sneak peak at Bees through the Seasons, and it is such a charming build. I took a pic of some of the items that will be part of the event, not all of them as not everyone is set up yet. There is also a guest book when you enter and you can leave a message, which is so cute. I also could not resist a pic of the sign when you land, not sure if you can read the last line well enough, but it made me snicker, as that is what my friend did the first time he ever showed us SL via his camera.

In this post I am wearing the Geanna skin by Izzies. I had not featured this skin yet, don’t know how it managed to slip past me, but it really is a great looking skin. Be sure to try on the demo, and take full advantage of all the wonderful tattoo layer options for lips, freckles and eyeshadows that the skin has.

    Sophia Skin

Visiting so many events lately, it is so great to see such marvelous home-ware items having an equal standing with fashion. In the past years, fashion and home-wares were often different ends of the grid. Now with the events mixing that up. We now get to see both under the one roof, and as a fan of both, I am very pleased.  The home-wares items in this post are both from Collabor88 by Cheeky Pea and Pilot, two beautiful sets based on the painted desert theme.

I have combined the two into the one setting, and even if you are not planning on doing up your home at this time, these are definitely pieces you will want to grab. The sweetwater set is the actual building structure that is so perfect and quaint, it has an open roof with beautiful beam work, that will create wonderful shadows – there are also shadows baked into the texture. Then you have the bed which is either pg or adult pose packed…as well as other bits and pieces to decorate either this home or any.The Larkin set by Pilot has the gorgeous hanging chair, which is beautifully shaped and also there is a great vase and cabinet that comprises of that set.

The colours of the sets together work perfectly in sync, and worked as a great backdrop for the slip dress I am wearing from Baiastice that is about to be released at the Fair event starting tomorrow…the inspiration for the slip was 3am as every store at the event has a specific time of the 24 hour day.

Also new and at an event is the Sophia skin by PXL, it has been a long time since I have blogged a PXL skin, and this one is a pre-release for the full line. So to get it in either of the two tones, you will have to visit the Around the World event. The skin comes in four lip colours and eye make up and freckles are on additional tattoo layers. The skin looks really nice on, and you can even now purchase add on features such as freckles, beauty marks and hairbases. In the Sophia set too you even get a buzz cut hair base tattoo, for a shaved head look, which I think is very cool for those half hair do styles that may not come with one. So if you cannot wait until the full release, or at least want to try it out early, then DEMO DEMO DEMO at the event.

The beautiful hair I am wearing is from Exile, and does come with amazing rigged flowers as an attachment, but I have saved those for another post, this hair is so pretty, so definitely grab that too.

    Leathered Up

    Trench

    Trench HUD

The colder weather is bringing out some great layering opportunities, best of all some fabulous jacket options. This new about to be released trench coat by League is all sorts of amazing. Not only is it true to trench coat traditional shaping, but it even has the slight overhang flap at the back at the shoulder blades. I also really like that even though the belt has the slide buckle in place, it is tied, which is what happens with most coats of this style eventually.

After all the regular features though, it is the details that League have added that make this trench a MUST HAVE. First off each colour comes with a HUD that adds incredible features to the coat, and gives you over 20 different options of wear. First you have the collar, which has the full trench colour, the half colour half leather, and then full leather options – the leather texture is amazing. Then the same but with the added edginess of studs at the lapel, so cool and definitely gives the coat some extra flavour. Then you have the sleeves in leather or colour, which in leather is so hot, and then belt with leather or colour options, and lastly the metals of the studs and buckle. This is amazing value, and such a great way to wear a coat.

I wore the coat over the mesh leather leggings from Maitreya, and the fit was great, also from the rear you can see that the shape of the coat in the back is really well constructed and moves very well. Great over pants, skirts or perhaps nothing at all. The coats options make it agreeable with so many looks, how will you wear yours ?

    What will be

    Audrey

First thing I did today was make some changes to my head. The LOGO Chloe head that is. I first off grabbed the Izzies mesh eyes and fit them inside of it. Then I grabbed the SLink teeth/lips rezzed them on the floor, unlinked the lips and wore just the teeth, fitting them nicely inside if the mouth. This is very handy also, as the teeth are individual teeth and can be edited to have a slight gap if so desired. Then it was on to the getting dressed part of the day.

When I first saw the NEW Audrey Jumpsuit from Celoe, I was immediately transferred to Saturday afternoons of my childhood. Watching the Midday old movies,  while gazing in wonder at all the incredibly beautiful women, and their clothing. Women such as Lauren Bacall who would have definitely worn a jumpsuit just like this one. The shoulders are so well styled, giving a great broad shouldered effect, even if you don’t have them underneath. This then draws attention to a narrow waist and curvy hips, all very feminine even in a pant-suit …which back in the 60’s was definitely a balancing act at giving women a sense of empowerment, but also keeping everything still girly.

I especially liked being able to layer the sweater from Celoe under the Audrey jumpsuit. When I saw the cream I knew I wanted to mix it with deeper browns, I had just imagined I would do so more with accessories rather than other clothing items. I also love that the length of the pants allows for a perfect fit of the Suave shoes with socks, so that I can either keep to the warm wintery look with socks, or the bare toes look if feeling a little lighter styling wise.

    Teddy Bare – SALE

    Teddy

Whimsy Winx, Anessa Stine and I dressed up tonight and went frolicking all over Second Life. It was full of fun and sillyness, as is usually the case with us.I even had the opportunity to use my stern face, which was funny because I forgot to put it back to regular, I imagine I scared a few people. While gasbagging – slang for talking lots – I was perusing Flickr and found that Ricielli was having another of its Mesh hunts. All items in the hunt are 15L each, there are twenty items, so you get a lot of bang for your buck. The large soft glowing cupcakes are not hard to find either, I think some of the vendors in the store are smaller to be honest.

Then I found a SALE banner for Bliss Couture’s HAT department. This had me tping very fast, I have these sudden cravings in SL for hats every so often, and I had not been to Bliss Couture in such a long time, so off we went. I bought up half the hats, I am pretty sure I will be back for the other half before the sale ends. Anessa purchased the other half, and then I was lucky to find in their fur department that they had a bolero jacket that matched the so awesome Jade hat that I am wearing. Seriously these two pieces are just must haves all over the place. I especially liked that the net veil I made earlier fit the hat, and looked so cute together over the Logo hybrid head.

Because I can’t wear a hairbase over the head, I went to my Gurl 6 folder knowing instantly this was the perfect job for Olive, a flapper hairstyle that is very short and close to the head. This helped with the occasional gap in the hat. I was going to originally wear Coco from Celoe with the bolero, but as I only blogged that the other day, I went with a mix of Maitreya with the bodysuit, and the great mesh corset I grabbed the other day from Etchaflesh. The corset has a great range of sizes and fit really well, I especially like the ruched sides and laced up back.

I do, I do, I yabba dabba doo

    Syren Song

So many new and gorgeous things today. First off though I will mention that I made the netting veil I am wearing in the pic. It is an attachment I made, to add a little more to the gorgeous ceramic flower by Pididdle. So if you want one – it is mod so you can tint the net to black or whatever colour and change the size – just IM me and I will send you one over :).

The new gown is called Syren and was released earlier today as part of the Fall 2012 collection from Celoe. The style is elegant and sultry. I could not get past how perfect for a wedding the white one is, as I am sure was the plan. So with that in mind, and a great background image from the Second Life Stock Images Group by Cajsa Lilliehook, I created a simple bridal look.

The hair is the new Lana hair by LeLutka, I love this style, pulled back from the face and shoulders. The hair lets you still have so much length and height to it, but you can still see everything I am wearing and my face, this is really important right now with so much detailing in clothing. the height of the hair is also stunning, and I really imagine a proper wedding veil would look incredible cascading from it.’The jewellery I am wearing is by Paper Couture, older pieces that are still classically stunning, and at such an amazing price. You would be crazy not to grab everything in sight.

The face is of course the LOGO Chloe hybrid face and skin set, more info on that if you missed it HERE.

This has been a big week for innovative skin releases, and this Hybrid mesh and skin combination is definitely something worth seeing up close and personal. Gogo and Willow have both done fantastic posts so far on this release, and unlike the fear many have about mesh making us look the same, I don’t think that we do. Features yes but its how you play with the combinations that give much more than imagined.

The New Chloe hybrid mesh system by LOGO is a Mesh head/skin combination, with an amazing array of options. The skins line up at the neck, so the absolute bonus of this kind of package is that you can wear system  clothing and all sorts of mesh items with it. That alone is a win for many.  Each Chloe purchase comes with all tones, there are five of them, which in itself just helps the buy process along very easily, because committing to this kind of look, always has some kind of ‘but what if later I want to be lighter/darker, I would have to buy it again, well not with this, because you get it all at the one time…which if you are a store owner and were considering this for your models is a double win.

You also get the head in two sizes, one is set to zero body fat, and the other is set to 16, I had to change a copy of my shape only because of chin and jaw, as there was a slight gap on the join, once I did that I was perfectly joined. You get three skin choices, which have to do with the breast areas, smaller and larger which is a great thing, you also get tattoo layers for stomach, which give a firm or muscular look to the body…the muscular was too much for me, but I know there are some out there that like that look and Maximillion of LOGO does know his skins. Then you have a bottom option on a tattoo layer, which I thought was so adorable, and on top of that there are 9 nipple options on tattoo layers for each skin base you choose to wear. Those are just the things you put on at first.

After you wear the skin, add the alpha and attach the head, you will see you have no eyes, well that is taken care of also, you can add the eyes in the folder with the teeth as its all one thing, and then you add the brows and the HUD that comes with the default package. Now everything just gets into a whole new realm of awesome. You are first all ooooo ahhh by the many eyeshadows and lipticks options, because it is HUD controlled that gives you hundreds of options of wear combining the two with there being 16 of each. Then on top of that you have brows in different colours, I mixed between the blonde and the brown for the post.

Then you travel further down and you realise the eyes have 16 eye colours and the eyes are just beautiful, but you can leave them off and go with your own mesh eyes if you have some, but you will not be able to wear system layer eyes, as the alpha on the head removes them. You then glance to your right, because lashes beckon and you have all these NO NEED TO FIT THEM YOURSELF lashes options, that go from very light to true diva style lashes, and even an OFF option so you can wear your own if you choose to. This might be something I do because mine are mesh strands, and the lashes in the head are mesh with texture so they do have alpha issues with some mesh hair from a side angle, you will have to work out what is best for you, but as I said, the no lash option is there.

Then down the very bottom you have NOSES, and its like wait, noses, do they change ? they do, but not the shape just the texturing to them, and while it is very subtle it does change the face enough that you and a friend could both get Chloe and look different to each other. Cheeks also just above the nose do give more of an angular look to the face depending on which you choose.  So thats just the tip, hundreds of make up looks, eyes, noses, lashes, brows its already all sorts of wonderful.

Then you click the top of the HUD it spins and suddenly you have what looks like an emoter hud that many are familiar with…and YES your face changes, suddenly you have parted lips, pouts, angry face and your eyes change with and along with them go your lashes, this is marvellous  again no extra editing or post process work on pics. The other great thing is that the head is scripted to blink, so you don’t stare blankly and as the eyes are rigged to the actual SL eyes, if you have a HUD that controls the way in which your eyes focus, you can still use that as I did to keep everything straight. There is also a miniature hud for expressions you can wear just day to day, so you can change your face on the go, also there is included a storage hud that you wear and it records your favourite make up combo, so you can wear it, choose your look and then remove it to wear at any time in the future.

Then if all of that is not enough for you, and you are all about, oh but I will get bored with potentially 1024 make up combinations, yes I did the math…you can actually already purchase additional HUDs for lips, eyes and cheeks and they are crazy inexpensive again adding  hundreds if not a thousand more combinations. That is just the make ups, when you factor in noses and brows it just goes on and on, as well as the skin options, and so on. This is a MUST have system for anyone that wants to take the leap into a mesh looking face, because with shadows and so on, you wont have those harsh angles of SL avatar faces, you will have nice smooth curves to your face.

Also if you are the type to do facial piercings , well as you can see mine fit the same as they did on my regular shape, you may have to move things around a little bit. Try the DEMOS see how you like it, I am looking forward to seeing more of the Hybrids coming from LOGO I already got a peak today of the next face and she is a beauty, I think there is even a pic of her at the store.

When I shot the make up options I did a simple one eye one lips pic all the way down through the 16, but of course as mentioned you can have so many different combo’s as well as with the add on make ups.

    She’s got Legs

    Board

    Board2

The outfits today are totally looks that I would wear if it wasn’t so hot outside right now, but they are definitely looks that I have worn in the past, as I definitely tend to favour this style of pants being tall, and I had a love affair with blazers over the years too. The pants are the latest release from Baiastice and the style as well as the beautiful thin belt just add up to pure bliss and MUST HAVE items.

In the first pic I went with the monochromatic look of black and white, with some silver thrown in with the amazing new jewellery sets by Gossamer Jewellery. They actually include different colour options, so in the other pic I went with the choc gold combo as well.

The blazer is from Emery, and is fabulous, but a word of warning, due to the avatar limitations, the sleeve length of the jacket does make for some issues with the alpha ability and the skin. Because of where the sleeves end, the avatar stretches when the arms are bent and skin that is usually covered by the alpha actually stretches to then become exposed…this is not a defect of the clothing, but the limitations of the avatar…so be sure to demo before you buy in case your AO does a lot of bending at the arm. Because I know what’s doing it, it doesn’t bother me.

I put the blazer over an old top from LeLutka that I adore, that has a cute sculpted knot at the mid section, and thought it was very appropriate for this sexy boardroom look, kind of imagining that the blazer would be buttoned up at some stage and all appearing professional if need be.  The second pic has a mix of tops, the fitted hybrid mesh sweater from Celoe, that is system top layer and mesh collar, so that the necklace fit well and it has that tucked into the pants look. Then the oversized sweater again from Emery that is really beautiful when styled this way, almost changing it altogether into a classy top, but of course change what it is worn with and you could have a very different style altogether.

The third swater is the merino sweater from Baiastice, this has an amazing overlayer to the mesh that gives a realism to being all soft and fluffy wool, I really like how it is done, especially since it was achieved without causing any mesh alpha issues with hair…great work.  The hairstyles I am wearing are from Elikatira, most of them older styles, but the beautiful braided side do, is Interupt a new style that was supposed to be released around sale time, so for a short time has been discounted in the store, so if you love it, which you should, go grab it at the discount if it is still available, and if not, then grab it anyway, because hair is a steal for the amount of wear people get out of it.

The more I wear of the new Collabor88 items, the more I am loving the theme, the colours and just the overall feel of the collections. The threadbare manchester jeans are great cords in mesh, which either come in solids or two tone options. I am definitely more partial to the solid, but the two tone are definitely a fun option. The stitching on the seams is great, and I especially love the arrow tail detailing on the pockets.

I was especially glad to see that the same kind of detailing was evident on the vest from Sn@tch that is a much older item I already had, and worked to bring the look together. The other top worn are the great bodysuits part of Collabor88 by The Sea Hole. The bodysuits have beautiful detailing not only on the print part of the top, but also the really beautiful open button look.

The hairstyles also at the event are from LaViere, the ponytail style is a two part style, and actually looks really cute without the tail. The bob is just adorable, and I like the really straight bangs.

The new shoes I am wearing are Indra from Slink, these are the next release of Add On shoes that go over the medium height bare feet, so you need the mesh feet first, and then add the shoes. The style is very fun, with tread soles and a lovely high heel, the multi pack has lots of options of wear, you can change the straps and heel colours as much as you want, so the multipack is the way to go for lots of choice. I did change from the shoes mid way as the jeans are close at the back so they don’t allow for a curved heel shape in a high heel but fit a lot better with flats or shoes that aren’t as curved at the back, so DEMO DEMO DEMO.

    Desert Heat – Collabor88/November

    Smoke

    Stretch Boots 1

    Stretch Boots 2

Only moments ago Collabor88/November opened its doors to the public, and the theme is Painted Desert for this round. Such beautiful colours, and really lovely items created around the heat evoking theme. One item that will be a wearable with ease item for many and a definite MUST HAVE ! is the Perla sweater that is Glam Affairs release for the event. It is a fabulous oversized sweater dress that just looks great with or without leggings underneath.

Adding to that the new boots by Baiastice, not part of the event, but the colours available do mix and match well. The boots come in standard sizing and have a great range of suede or fabric textures. For the vivid colours I am leaning towards the fabric, and the naturals in suede…I do especially like how high they are and the heel is wonderful.

Also from Collabor88/November are these hairstyles by Clawtooth that I am wearing, they are both variations of the same style. I really like how large the waves are, giving them more of a kink look rather than true curls, which is really cool for hair that is thick and heavy like this. As the colour chosen is so obviously not my natural colour, I am going with darker brows on the skin this time around, which as much as I love doing this, and it was definitely done on purpose as there are blonde brows with the skin. Also I am wearing the Saga mouth from Laq over the league skin, because I just love that mouth.

Other items are the really cool necklace and ring from LaGyo, they come in gold or silver and I really adore the chevron style of them, and love how well the rings just sit on the Slink hands without any need to adjust or anything YAY for Add, thank you whichever Lindens did that.
