I am finding it hard to type right now, my face is saturated with tears, do not worry though, it is not that anything is wrong, it is just that I opened a link to Facebook and five or six scrolls later, I had been overwhelmed by three different emotion packed videos.

Social Media really is an incredible platform in many ways, getting the word out in ways that otherwise may pass others by. I tend to not get much time to use mine, I have many accounts with various places, but it is just as most people do, I see a link to a new one, I run with the masses, I make the account, and then I never look at it again.

We have our preferences, and that is cool too. I tend to get meh about them at the same time though, I see them hurt people, and I for some reason come across ones that take pot shots at people for no apparent reason. Actually by people I mean products more often than not, everyone is having a fun old time enjoying something, sharing pics and so on, and then someone comes along and does the whole ‘ I know everyone will hate me, but I just do not like __________” and other various mixes of the same kind of posting.

It is like going to a kids party as an adult and while everyone is having a great time celebrating the birth of a child, laughing at kids running around chasing a clown, or stealing all the fairy bread off the plates while the kids are not looking, someone rolls their eyes to the heavens and says ‘ I don’t like kids, they don’t do anything for me”.

If something is not to your taste, or your style, just enjoy others enjoying it, because more often than not, it is your own friends that are falling in love with themselves and the item on your timeline. Those hate-bombs incite buyers remorse in the worst of ways, you are essentially not only damaging a business – because your one hate-bomb could stop someone that looks up to you for advice, considers you stylish and in the know, or just sees you as someone that would know if something was good or not (this is tripled if you are a blogger or a designer) – but also damages the person behind the creation…while 500 comments may declare love, your declaration of hate rips straight through them, and unfortunately can pile on creators over time.

I have been watching peoples hate bombs for a while now, and when you piece them together, you often see more said on the same subject in other postings, and when you mix them into context, it is usually MONEY. It is not that they hate them, dislike them or even aren’t that into them…it is that they are on a budget and because it is easier to say ‘ Oh I don’t like it’ than to say ‘ I cannot budget for it today’.

By making this declarative statements of dislike, they are off the hook. Their posse is not going to expect to see the latest and greatest on them, because they dislike it so much, it is the perfect “Keeping up with the Jones’s” neutraliser.

Friend 2 ” Oh she HAAAAAAAAATES them”

Friend 1 ‘ oh ok” ( *thinks* why does she hate them, should I hate them too, do I look stupid, is there something I do not know…maybe I should not wear it any-more, maybe I made a mistake…Gosh I really loved it too *packs it back into inventory* )

See how easy that is, works a treat. No one has expectations of you that way, just go around hating everything that comes out, publicly and as much as possible, and you can even get away with never logging in to SL at all and still being current.

That is the beauty of Second Life, you very rarely ever have to buy something today, it will be there next month, next year, and next time you have the funds…if you haven’t moved on to your next favourite thing. The other beauty of Second Life, is that you don’t have to buy anything at all. There are so many incredible gifts, goody bags, group joining, Midnight Mania, Lucky Chair items out there, that just with some time, you can collect a great mix of items.

Put those items together and make the you you want to be, and friends that you have, real friends wont judge you on not having everything if they know your circumstances, and may even shout you to a thing or two, because my other favourite thing about SL , is that for the price of a soda in RL you can make someones day.

Even if it is not about budget, if it is that you don’t like it, it is not important that that goes out into the universe, look at your audience. Pay attention to the joy the item is bringing to people that you like, that you know, and that you may care about a lot. Remember that they have also just purchased it, want to love it, are loving it, and what you think is being cool by going against the pack, just makes for hurt.

If you are asked to share your opinion on something, again gauge what the person is really asking you…are they asking you to talk them out of it, or are they asking you to back them up in their want for it. That being said though, there are going to be times ONE ON ONE in private in IM or on Skype – or at an actual store in RL, because people do that apparently – that you will need to go NO to a friend that is about to buy a crazy thing lol, I am not ever going to say don’t stop a friend from looking insane, just don’t steam-roll over hundreds of peoples happy places.

I once had a customer in RL come out of the change-room in a dress that she wanted for New Years, its metallic look and her colouring did not go well together, but she beamed so much looking at herself in the mirror, she was practically hovering off the ground. Her enthusiasm, her everything in regards to this dress was an amazing thing to see, and the one and only time ever in the history of my world have I not made a suggestion of something else, when I thought something was not exactly as it should be. While the combination would not normally be a pairing, she shone brighter than that dress ever could, and 18 years later I still remember that day, that customer and that dress, and the day I knew when to shut my mouth (such a rare day, it is a national holiday in Australia …..j/k) I even reduced the price of the dress (my store my rules) because no matter what, I wanted her to be that happy for as long as she got the chance to be, it was one of my most memorable silly seasons ever.

Oh and while I have your attention – if you got this far I love you lots – if something is not right with something you do buy, or are trying…ask the creator – or their customer support – if there is an issue, help them out by letting them know. Telling 500 people that something is broken but never letting the people that can fix it know, is more damaging, and I have seen that occur often too.

The dress I am wearing today made me think of all that, because it is the exact same metallic colouring, and sparkled the same. It is by Mimikri at this round of My Attic and it is a stunning strapless mini, that you could definitely also wear with leggings for a different look. I paired it up with the great neck corset bolero styled piece that is part of an ensemble by Even Flow that is also at My Attic.

The shoes were instant love, the gladiator ankle boot style of these with the wedge heel are glorious and they come in snakeskin leather in a great range of colours. They are called Ciao and are by Bushu.

The whole look gets held together by this gorgeous face applier skin by YS&YS that is also a My Attic item, you get this version and a freckled version and the make up is perfect for ‘It’s My Party” which is the theme of this round.

Always when I think I am going to type a handful of words, I end up typing half a novel…obviously tears subsided and I somehow managed to get my rant on.

I have experienced people having issues with gifting on marketplace. Items have been selected, name inserted , a fancy message and then after paying it goes to their own inventory. It took a lot of back and forth with a few different people to work out why this was occurring. I found the answer and I hope this badly edited video helps you 🙂

LeLutka just released their brand new “Swish” hairstyles, which means that certain strands of the hair are actually animated, giving the hair a very natural looking movement, it is awesome to be taking pics and your tendrils will just move…I really like it, and they did an amazing video to launch the release. You can see it HERE. There are two options, the animated Swish, or without, just in case you need your hair very still. If you are in the LeLutka store group you can grab the demos from notices and swish all over your house before you go shopping.

I am loving this style Cordelia, with the centre parting that just makes for a very cool look, and the wispy bangs are bang on. It helps when you wear the rosamund hairbase with the centre parting, also by LeLutka, which is my go to hairbase. I decided I needed to really rock out this look and with the help of the new jacket from sYs and the great new leather pants from Emery, I was on my way….never one to not make the most of same sameness, the shoes I have on are also Cordelia, I saw them on searching through my Livalle shoes yesterday, and these are just one of the three versions you get with these so very sexy platform shoes.

Adding some lights from Junk and these great trunk pieces I found in my inventory from Trompe Loeil, I was feeling my record cover, or my music magazine layout.

We decided to take it to the city streets today, the fake city streets though with the help again of the awesome prop Rowne made for a previous The Arcade. Whimsy and I had so much fun yesterday together, we decided to do a repeat performance. Mixing some great pieces with slink fit options, by Ison and Tres Blah, loving these jeans, and they come with different variations to work with the knee high boots he also released, with an additional hud for torn or pristine look denim, so so cool.

Looks like these are what makes it so necessary for texture clothing creators to still make items with appliers for layering purposes. I used my own cami in this pic, but it is just crucial to be able to get shirts and pants in applier mode, for tucking into jeans, or tucking into boots and so on. It can really add to an outfit, so all those creators that used to do more modest texture based clothing, please get your appliers kits and update older stock, it is all new items to someone, and us oldbies will buy up big time too.

I am wearing a mix of accessories with the ensemble some great gold pieces from Minimal, the ring is awesome, and loved the bangles that are bracers but in various areas going up your arm, so you can move them around and rotate them for a more natural slope against your wrist. The necklace is noodles at C88, a lovely delicate autumn themed necklace, that fit really well. The bag by Mutresse has so many options for texture change features, that I will visit in the future, but at the moment the black with gold just rocked it altogether. The beautiful high pony from Elikatira is another Hairology item about to hit the great event, so make sure you get over there when it opens.

So the other day, Whimsy and I went shopping at the Gacha Garden. It is a cool event, you just follow the path and gacha your heart out. As I went I got a few items that were just not me, so I sent them to a little girl I saw on the pathway…I do that kind of strange stuff. As I was leaving though, I hit up a bracelet gacha that had combined friend bracelets and got one called King/Queen, it was not going to work for me, but standing at the entrance was a lovely couple with the girl dressed like Royalty, so I sent it to her. She so kindly sent me an item back, not what I expected, but so kind of her. I got home, rezzed the item with the strange name and OH MY GOODNESS it was a puppy. I got so excited and wanted more, as a few friends would love them, so I IMd the creator and they ended up being from where I just was, I had not seen them. Back I went and bought up big, and they are the little stars of my pictures.

Whimsy and I of course could not get past our wintery looks, and decided to make the most of the photo op. Rezzing out the new Barnesworth brownstones at this round of Collabor88 and adding some touches and voilà, you would believe we live there full time. The houses are divine, and three stories of awesome to decorate. We also were able to pick up these great bikes, on sale on MP at the moment too, so grab them while you can if you go that route, so so cute.

Instant love for my sweater shirt combination by Ison, also another C88 item, and with a hud that lets you change the shirt options, some prints some colour solids…much awesome. They come in standard sizing and Maitreya and Slink sizing options, which makes me so happy. Teaming it up with some other Slink in the form of the crop jeans, that while standard sizing do fit my shape with the original physique body well, you need to make sure you always demo any mesh though whether wearing a body or not.

The whole outfit was rounded out with these great Sydney booties by Ingenue, also at C88 and worth getting wherever they are located, I love them. These are the perfect this time of year footwear, and will work with so many looks.

To top it all off is the hair, this is Vanity Hair, and it is a style that is about to be launched at the NEW and exciting Hairology event that starts on the 10th of this month, only days to go, and you will have hair for days. I am so super happy about this event, as the organisers are some of the lovelies ladies I know, and always such a pleasure to see every year at Hair Fair, and have been well established hair creators for many years, so known well by their peers.

I am wearing a really cool bracelet combination that is a unisex piece by Minimal at The Mens Department, and I just love that the colours all came together perfectly for this post, even my bike matches.

I fell for this whole look from Lavian as soon as I put it on, it made me feel important. The kind of woman that is the assistant to someone very powerful, but in reality is the hub of all things that go on in the company she works for. She could go higher up the ladder, by why get the ulcers when you can control everything from the side. This ensemble is all hud driven with so many colour options for shirt, skirt and belt, being able to make a perfect combination. Always such high quality fabrics, silky and printed masterpieces…definitely need to get your Lavian on.

Whimsy pieced together this look mixing some items I picked up at Uber and some gatcha items we got at Shiny Shabby and the Gacha Garden. I am wearing the great new hair by Elua that is at Uber, and I already loved all her hair, but loving the new textures even more.

So the other day I did a post on the new Hourglass body by Slink. In the post I mentioned that mesh would not fit until made for the body, and that you could use appliers, well I LIED! I realised that while certain items would not fit, not all wouldn’t such is the case with these awesome pants by E-clipse and the top by Gizza that I picked up at Shiny Shabby, both items are not made for the Hourglass body, but both had options that worked like a charm. The top is size small that I always wear in SS, and with turning off my alpha zones as I would have to do with any body even wearing an alpha for the sl default, it fit as it should.

The pants the same, while there is a slink physique version it is for the original body, so I needed a little more for the hourglass and sure enough S it is. I am a happy camper. Also seeing as my partner now says that if he is not around I can wear drop crotch pants again (he hates the style) , these were my choice.

Other little thrills in this look are the rings by Tableau Vivant, now they say they are for a particular hand type from Slink but they are mod and single ring selectable, so you can move their position and size to anywhere you want YAY big win.

I am rocking the new Amanda Skin by Deetalez for the LeLutka heads and have had her on and loving her all week. Great face, and perfect black brows to make me happy. Adding a little shadow from Adam n Eve to mix up my look and away we go.

For the last month or so, whenever seeing Siddean in person, she has been getting hippier and hippier (also lippier and lippier, but that is her way). She announced a week or so ago that a new body was being launched and the time has come…ironically the name of the body is Hourglass, so timing is everything.

This is a NEW body, not an update, but a few things have happened to both…such as, if you update your original Physique body the neck has been altered to fit seamlessly with the visage neck patch and also the LeLutka heads, so that is just awesome. Also Blueberry who many of us Slink body wearers know and love, has gifted to Slink these incredible bra and panties sets with a hud that includes 16 colours that you can mix and match top and bottom. That is a serious gift of love right there. If you have the original body you get these on redelivery (or new purchase if it is your first time ) and they are also included with the new Hourglass body.

The hourglass body also has the included one shoulder dress, and all the other bits and pieces.

IMPORTANT! The hourglass body is shaped completely different than standard sizing shapes. While the original body has a very close fit to standard sizing when a standard sizing shape is used, this body is modelled differently. You may luck out and find an item or two of clothing that works, but this will work with appliers clothing, skins, tattoos only until creators make mesh for its shape.

That being said, the one shoulder dress, bikini and thigh high boots and oxford shoes that are in Slink have all been updated to fit, with more to come, to update you use their redelivery system.

I am wearing a beautiful new YS&YS skin in this post, with the sheen option turned on on the body. If you have been looking for a shapelier look, then definitely demo this beauty. I am wearing the exact same shape that I wear always, so you can see the difference is very much there.

The LeLutka heads are about to be updated, the date for update is the 21st, and if you already own them you will be sent an update once they go in the servers. Just take your head off and put it on again and voila, but be prepared that that may take a while as it will mean a lot of people getting sent things at once, so if you can get to the store, just use the redelivery terminal on that day.

The head update will include an awesome selection of expressions. Eyes, brows and mouth can be combined to have such fun looks, and make some great photos with them. I hope you like mine as I tried to spread it across all the options and come up with these new looks for these six great heads. I also got to show off the two new skin appliers by Glam Affair Elina and Laura, both such lovely skins and I am loving the brows, they really make the new expressions pop.

The other item included with the heads is a PERSONAL HUD! so now you can add your own make-ups or skins and hairbases and be the you you want to be. You can only use full perms textures as the creator yourself, then you just drag and drop them into the hud included and you are up and away. There is a set of instructions on how to use it HERE.

Make sure you get your head together, and the update is free, so if you were ‘thinking about it’ now is the time to get one, then you will be updated on the day, and can miss the crowds.

We often like to dress up in the same designer, and do a feature look with that designer. Today Whimsy and I chose Baiastice, as we are big fans of her creativity and style. To go full editorial you need a completely off the wall location, and so we went to Everwinter, a post apocalyptic theme park full of very creepy things.

It’s dark and dingy look was a great way to show off the beauty of these items, mixed with some great accessories by Fishy Strawberry, and some killer boots by CandyDoll. The slicked back pony was one of the latest hairbase releases from LeLutka, and just fierce and all up in that.

The dress I am wearing is the short version, it also comes gown length and that is some serious business. I just love the short version of it, and it fit my Slink body like a dream in the fitted version, it also includes standard sizing, which with my shape often fits if no Slink version, win win really.

I was all about the fierce and the skin appliers by Glam Affair was Megan, and those brows have fierce down to a tee.

Whimsy had her mix of trust fund and first wife thing going on, she tends to rock those diva looks, it is just her…The fascinator suited her, especially when draping herself across the bonnet of a bus being driven by a zombie, because a first wife will never know when or where she may meet a second husband.

I actually wore my VR Studio Mobile Libraries packed with poses, then targeted Whimsy and took over on how she was going to pose for the shots, then watched as she navigated around and off many large ornaments, she is very entertaining.
