I do not think at this point that it is much of a secret really, but I am Wild about Alaska. Alaska Metropolitan that is, not the place, even though I hear it is very beautiful. Alaska has done a lot over the years, but some of the fondest memories are from way back. Alaska has done some innovative things with skins over the years, and I wish I could find the archives to show how incredible it all was, but alas the original blog I blogged on was not my own, so I lost it all, hundreds of posts and millions of words – I do tend to type/talk a lot.

Whenever Alaska releases a new anything I am usually there to grab it, like tonight, I rushed over to the very beautiful NEW event Anthology – that build and the whole layout is gorgeous  – to grab her latest release… my AlaskaMetro folder is probably one of the only truly organised folders I have, and probably one of the fullest, because she always includes as many options as possible. Her skin released at Skin Fair 2024 Amber, was the perfect showcase for the New – also at Skin Fair – Morph heads by Genus. A new system that allows you to À la carte your face. What I see happening here will be a lot easier for people to swap and change looks, not just because things are in pieces, but also because there are no real names associated with them, it becomes less personal when it is a generic name vs something you grow very close to, so changing your nose, your base shape of your head or a mouth, may just be a lot easier to experience. Definitely worth trying all on offer, and they have a special discount on offer during Skin Fair.

JuicyBomb has a full post on the animations and the great features of the Snow Rabbit head available at Skin Fair 2024, so you should definitely give that a visit also. Since its release, even before the gates to the event opened, they have already updated it, as mentioned in Gogo’s post, with a no base playing animations version, so you can be really still and then play the animations you want to use, or just wear the other version and animations of a base nature will always play, great support already shown before the gate was even opened.
We were huge fans of Snow Rabbits first head, it was adorable and unlike anything at that time, so this is a nostalgic embrace of the new. The HUD is fantastic, and this is just the head HUD the animations hud is even more detailed. There are so many components, and today in this post I have used the eyeshadow and lipstick features of the head itself and they are so cute and glittery.
There are so many additional features, brow shaping, opacity levels and breaking up top and bottoms or inner and outer layers of things such as lipstick layers and eyelashes is really showing that they got right in under the hood and made sure they covered it all.
I got to have a lot of fun layering with this head, because it is evox and very very good to the UV, I was able to wear things that were made without knowing the head was even coming. This WoW Skins Skin at Skin Fair is lovely, with the moles by Reverie, that come in all sorts of locations on the face as bom layers, so stacking fun for all the family. I used the button nose and lips option from the skin I wore yesterday, because I love it with this skin, and this amazing tattoo by Frisbey to pull it all together.
Even if you had no plans for a new head this skin fair, you should definitely try them all, especially if you have other layers that will work with them out of the box.

I loved this kind of edgy look, but using really girly parts, such as this super headband from Sparkle Skye, it has options for solid, polka or lace in either the bow or the band, and then also gem options on the HUD, so it is incredibly versatile. I loved pairing it up with the top and armwarmers from Smesh, because I got to use my Nuve underwear as a contrast to the mesh top, to give tuxedo vibes. The incredible tattoo just gave everything that punch of colour.

Skin Fair 2024 is underway, and there are over 200 stores of content spanning 2 regions. I asked one of the Skin Fair Bloggers – Sydd Sinister to give me 4 letters to help me pick an assortment of creators to feature, the only stipulation was one of them had to be Z for Zibska. I guess that means she really only chose 3 but it is much funnier my way.

I started off with featuring the NEW LOGO Lux head, LOGO is a sponsor of the event, so very easy to find, and they have a lovely large booth with lots on offer, including an incredible deal on animations. Their new head straight out of the box was easy to wear. It actually looked close enough to me to feel really comfortable in it, and just had to tweak some sliders shapes wise, but the shape included is also great. I have included a picture of the HUD that comes with and as you can see it is both EvoX and SLUV set, so that means you have a lot more skins to choose from. There are a lot of built in features, but you can also add your own. I am a BOM girl, I love it so much, so used skins and additional makeups, eyes etc from outside of the head itself. It does have eyes included, but as I wished to feature the ones that I did, I used default SL eyes.
Back to the BOM, I love to layer, so with the Skin itself by Nar Mattaru I used her lovely little add on layers, which create the button nose and the accentuated lips shimmer. I then added Zibska eyeshadow as a base as it comes up closer to the brow line, and an additional layer of eyeshadow by Rarer, all about that stacking. I kept the lips bare except for the enhancement layer included with the skin, and then a big change for me brown eyes…I know right, so different from my usual green – truth be told, my eyes are brown in RL and the green happened because when I started Second Life the only brown eyes I had at the time just made me look like empty eye sockets. Eyes have evolved so well since then. These eyes are Medusa themed, supposed to be all fantasy etc, but I just really liked them as a regular eye, they are lovely and that it is possible to do that makes them great.

There are demos of many of the items at Skin Fair, you can even join the Juniper Event group and grab some before you go, especially since the regions are very full at the moment. I suggest trying as much as you can, and have fun with it, go home and look at everything, invite some friends over, and have a party. You have time to spread it out. But definitely attend, because all this creativity in one space, needs and deserves your attention.
