Hair Fair 2012 – After Dinner Red Mint
While I am freezing cold Down Under, it is perfect swimwear weather in other countries and always in Second Life. I have seen so many women running through Hair Fair 2012 in bikinis, so it made sense that it would rub off on me. The three swimsuits are all from MiaMai and they did a huge swimwear release, including some styles in mesh. These of course are clothing layers, and there is still a definite place on the grid for layered clothing.
The hair I am wearing is all Red Mint, these are mesh hairstyles and really beautiful do’s, the one thing to mention though with rigged styles that are built close to the face is that if you turn your head too much you can end up with hair going into your face, so when you are trying on demos if you have an overactive AO do take note, if not then you are great to go. I especially love the third pics style all pulled back loosely into a long low pony, the two tone options are a blast too with Red Mint hairs, and while you are at their booth at Hair Fair 2012 check out the cool way they did their vendors and posters, the string all leads to the same place, so nifty 🙂 and a great gift at the end.
The shoes I am wearing in all the pics are Linda by Redgrave. These shoes are beautiful and with all the different options for changing their textures you can make many many looks with them. I for some reason found editing to match skin a breeze this time around, I am thinking something changed there, not too sure, but the presets were spot on for the skin tone I am wearing. One thing noticable about the new feet for the Redgrave shoes is that the big toe seems unusually large, even for a big toe, not so much in the width but the height of the toe, in this style shoe that is not as noticeable, and as I have a size ten foot in RL I am just going to be fine with it, because I cannot point foot size fingers.
You will find the Red Mint booth at the top left of the Hair Fair Sand Sim.

Hair Fair 2012 – Slink into something good
During the past few weeks while I have been in my Hair Fair bubble, there has been a community event called One Voice. The event is a fundraising event to help Gala Phoenix with upcoming legal fees for her court battle with another content creator in Second Life. Many content creators have come together and are selling their items donating to this cause. You can find more info from Gala Phoenix on her website HERE.
The skin I am wearing in the post is one such item, the Gala Skin is by Izzie Button of Izzies, I have posted on many of the Izzies skins in the past, and this one is just as beautiful. There are different options as well as lipstick and eyeshadow layers on tatoos. I think the base lipstick was just perfect for this beautiful mesh gown recently released from Rebel Hope Designs. While I really like the simplicity of the gown itself, I especially like the fact that the off shoulder sleeves are a separate attachment, I think not only is that cool for giving you two looks, but if you were to buy more than one of the gowns, you could contrast the sleeves and get even more options.
The hair featured from Hair Fair in this post is from SLink. Slink does not release hair that often, but when it does, it is always memorable. Slink is on the Hair Fair – Sand sim on the top on the right. The first French Twist style is a classic for formal or business looks, the hair is non rigged, so you can edit it to fit size wise. The second style is the Nicolette hair, this style is fierce. The style has a somewhat razor cut side with feathered pieces brought forward along the hairline, the effect of this is creative and really cool looking. The short do would I think also look great on some guys, so maybe if you haven’t already, you should give it a go. Put together with the really cute skater skirt from Tee*fy and tank from Toki Doki it was all very funky looking.
The last style is the Mica hair, a beautiful braided style that is very feminine and girly, so I went with the new beach dress from Kyoot that is at this months Collabor88. The style is a mesh hybrid using a mesh insert and clothing layers to create the dress. I loved the casual and carefree look of the dress and oversized beach tote, then adding the Slink mesh bare feet and holding in my hand the Aussie thong add ons, because it was fun.

Hair Fair 2012 – Wide Awake in Exile
As I mentioned with the last post I am a Pisces, this means seaside and fish stuff is all win usually for me. So it was instant adoration for this first hair from Exile @ Hair Fair 2012. It has become a kind of tradition for Exile to create a water inspired hair for the event, and this one is just a stunning display of how mesh has allowed this creator to feel no barriers when it comes to creating fabulous hairstyles for us.
The headband that comes with the Sea of Love hair is delicate and beautiful, and something that I would want to display in my house if it was flat it would so be on a shelf somewhere. I kind of wish that Kavar would make an accessories pack of the individual pieces, or smaller arrangements, so that they could be worn as embellishments to other styles, everyone needs a starfish clip.
You will see a bit of a theme in the post today too, maxi skirts for everyone! this skirt is by Baiastice, and the fact that it comes in various striped prints, including an almost Chevron like pattern is just wonderful. The skirt is gorgeous, simple, elegant and exudes a pool side fantasy of frosted margaritas, cabanas and pool boys. The azure version is the first I am wearing and the colours are amazing, and what mesh has done for prints is worthy of some kind of medal of awesome. With all that colour I kept it simple, with a lovely white halter top from Cynful.
The second look has the Silent Wings hair. You can choose to wear with or without the beautiful peacock feathers attachment, but seriously I want more feathers. The style is stunning, I actually also want Kavar to cut it at the first ties for a medium length do, because its stunning at that length in the way its been styled, but really the tails that are uneven in length and with one additional tie on one side is just inspired. It also looks so beautiful with the oversized hat also from Baiastice, that if you haven’t got this hat yet, I assure you there is so much love to be had for it.
The necklace is toki doki, and I loved the green in it, with the green of the feathers that I made my footwear green also. The new Aussie Thongs are from SLink and they are add on attachments for your rigged mesh feet. Just wear your feet you may/may not already own by SLink – they may fit others but you would need to try with the demo – and then add the thongs over the top, just like real life. They come in really great colours for all year round, just as they do down under, because while it is confusing for some in other countries the thongs thing, they are and have always been thongs down here.
The last look with the Wide Awake hair is a dressier into the evening look. The skirt in the black chevron look is divine, as is the brown obviously, but with the babytux bra with the straps shown, some gorgeous accessories and this sexy hair, it is all systems go. The hair looks so innocent in the add, and has its own hair attachment of butterflies as well, but without, and with the right look, it is pounceworthy.
The skins I am wearing in this post are the new Glance Skins called Coco, three shades, which is I am sure appreciated by many – as in the past Glance usually only does one at the start and sometimes adds others. This time three at once, and they are leaning towards being more of a black skin than cacausian, but with the tones being very mixed in lightness, there is the opportunity to use them as a more diverse looking option than just a regular tan. The Coco skin on me looks very similar to the JLo inspired skin previously released, it definitely has some of that look for me, but then that is all shape relative. The skins come with ten shadows and ten glossy and ten matt lipsticks as tattoos, I have shown only some of the combinations you can make, but honestly the glossy lips are probably some of the best I have seen around for a while.
There are different brow options, even a no brow option for those wanting to add tattoo brows, there is also a cleavage enhanced option, so you are definitely going to find a lot in this skin range to like…demo demo demo.
While shooting the skins I wore the crush hair from Exile also, you cannot see the rest of it, but those bangs are chunky hotness, the rest is just as beautiful and you will need to go try them all.
Don’t miss Exile at Hair Fair, they are on the Sand Sim …

Hair Fair 2012 – A whole lot of Rosy Mood
It is always fun when you get to be a walking promotion for a fashion item, such was the case when I had to TP over to Hair Fair 2012 to help someone and I still had on these fantastic studded long boots by J’s. The instant I landed the male partner of the lady I was tping in to help asked if the boots I had on came in a guys version…YES, YES they do. The boots come in both female and male versions, which is fabulous. The boots come in 5 colours and they even have a HUD for lengthening to the boots height, just in case you need a little extra. The stud detail is fabulous, and they are really well detailed mesh boots.
The other boots are the short boots, also by J’s they come in 12 different prints and are adorable Doc Marten inspired punk boots. I really like the print choices, these skully’s versions were adorable, but as for the solid colours I am totally loving the army green look, and will definitely try and work those into a look soonish.
The hair that I am featuring today is Rosy Mood, I swear just the name makes me happy, but that is the intention I am sure. Other than that the creator is all sorts of fun, while setting up I had the pleasure of chatting with Calico Felisimo with Mel for a little while, the conversation was all over the place and very fun. The three styles I am showing are really beautiful, when I saw the first one Caniche, I was really impressed with how true to life it looks. The style has such a sensuality to it for a short style, and whether suited up or barely dressed it really works. The bra and boyshorts set I am wearing are the latest Blue Slush release, and I really like the duo neon combo look of the colours.
Next up is the Goldfish hair, I got very excited over this style, being a Pisces and all that, it didn’t hurt that it is really great fun to wear and so pretty. I like that it is such a piled high tail, but using a shorter length style hair, very thick and great bangs in this look. I went with the Minidress in mesh from Blue Slush, which with the boots and hair went from being a beach mini dress look to a edgier combo.
Lastly the Satsuma style is a sleek mini bob, smoothed back on one side and definitely a style that is both sophisticated and memorable. It did remind me of the 20’s though, so I went with putting together a combination of 20’s and 80’s. The tiered skirt and top and shrug are mixed from other Blue Slush items, the shrug and bra are part of a set called Lolita, but definitely loved them with the skirt and hair. The last item and a MUST HAVE is the Garbo Graduated Necklace from Maxi’s @ Collabor88/July, if you did not grab this yet, get back over there, because you would be insane not to love it. The necklace comes in separate strands or an all in one combo – if you need to edit where it sits on your body, you need to go into transparent – ctrl alt T – and then grab the invisible prim to be able to move it up and down. There are also 20 colour options, so this necklace will make you happy for dozens of outfits to come.
Make sure you take the time to visit Rosy Mood at Hair Fair 2012 the store is located on the Hair Fair – Garden Sim.

Hair Fair 2012 – A logo for your thoughts
First thing is that I am so excited to be asked to be a Faculty Pick for this month on SLStyle Academy. It was totally an honor to be asked, and I am sure eventually they will get around to everyone on their great feed, but getting asked to share a blogger choice and a store choice was a lovely thing to be able to do. There are hundreds if not thousands of bloggers in SL and I wish I knew them all, I think everyone that blogs with passion and wants to really share the community spirit of Second Life are amazing, and a big shout out to all of them, but I could only choose one, so I went closest to home, right beside me on our blogging platform Whimsy Winx of Virtually Dressed Blog. I tease her all the time about ‘The history of Denim” because when she is really passionate about a post, she can go into such detail that it is so informative to read and enjoy, she really cares about helping people understand things she wants to share.
The other pick, was of course the VR Studio by VR Foundry, I could not blog without it, but not only do I use it for blogging, but for any kind of picture taking as well as other things that the tools allow for. I love the freedom I have using the library HUD that lets me pose anywhere I need to, I love the ability to control up to 6 posestands at once if wanting to do group shots and so on, but I also love the ease in which I can keep every libray organised by store if I want to , or I can fill them with types of poses, so swapping to a library of sit poses or laying poses is just a click.
There are new faculty picks posted every month on the feed, and the other two this month are great blog choices for sure, so make sure you visit them if you get the time.
Today I am featuring another store that is part of this years Hair Fair. The store is Logo and this is their third year in the event, and we love having them. The styles shown are three of the New mesh styles for the brand, and they are beautiful styles. The textures are rich and vibrant, and the hair itself is thick and full of life…really sexy looks.
Recently Maitreya released the Suede versions of the Radical Boots, these are stunning high heeled slouch boots. The colours are superb, and what made me gloriously happy was that they match many of the clothing items previously released by Maitreya. Also newish is the Leather pencil skirt from FANATIK , the combination with this lovelyLyla hairstyle really had a mature and stylish look to it.
The second look is this beautiful braided style Michelle II combined with the lovely Lacey dress from Mon Tissu. I love the mix of this dress, the lacey top with belted full skirt has a somewhat handmade look about it. I imagine the top was part of something more once upon a time, and then salvaged to make this frock of prettyness.
The Alessandra hair is as full and sexy as the other styles, but had to go with the blonde on this one, because it inspired the whole purple love look. I am not a huge fan of purple as many of you know, but there are some purples that just win me over, and the purple taupe colour that Maitreya uses in most of their collections is one of them. What I really like that even though the boots are mesh, and rigged, they do come with a non rigged version, which means you can fit the leggings underneath, which is not possible with the rigged as they are set to the same bones of the body.
I am wearing the leather leggings that are awesome, but opted for an older non mesh jacket, the camden jacket is so pretty and looks fabulous in my opinion in this combination, so start mixing the old with the new and find your own awesome combinations.

Hair Fair 2012 – It’s the Verve
So many things going on all around Second Life at the moment, but the one thing that has kept myself, Mel, Whimsy, Ashia and Gabby busy for the past few months has been preparations for Hair Fair 2012. For the months we have been in a kind of controlled environment within the controlled environment of Second Life. The outcome is the event itself, with over 80 incredible Hair designers present, and hundreds of amazing NEW styles featured only at the event for its duration.
I have been on the committee since 2007, I had never even attended the prior one – which was the first – as it was before I existed. It has been my favourite event ever since, we become immersed in it, and being able to hear all the positive feed back this year has been wonderful. The event as many know – but some may not – is to benefit Wigs for Kids through a portion of sales going to them after the event is final. Every year I am so impressed by the generosity of the hair designers, their customers old and new, and the bloggers who not only spread the word through their blogs, but also shop hard the day before it opens, and days that follow. So rather than natter on longer, a big heartfelt thanks to everyone for being such an amazing community.
I took some pictures of the sims yesterday, while people were flying about and shopping lots, it was fun to watch, and I did kind of wish I could grab pics of the people themselves, but I always feel like that would be intruding without permission, and by the time I take a shot and get to IM they are usually gone – makes notes to get IM open first lol. Mel Vanbeeck and Whimsy Winx built the sims, all four of them on a platform in the sky weeks prior to setting up, one sim at a time because we didn’t have enough prims to do all four at once. What they managed to create together, for something that is only up for two weeks, to me is just amazing…you can call me biased, but I love the sims a lot. You can actually read info on all that was done to help make this Hair Fair not only visually appealing, but also do a lot to help with performance/lag issues, it’s a combo post of my old tips and tricks and the new facts, written with Mel Vanbeeck.
A big shout out to the people over at SeraphimSL who are celebrating their first birthday with a huge hunt starting today. You can get all the info on their website HERE, Happy Birthday Seraphim.
Now onto the fashion…
First off of course the hair, the three styles I am showing are the LeLutka releases for Hair Fair 2012, you can find LeLutka on the Hair Fair – Garden sim on the far left from the landing point. The Salome hair is the incredible curly do, I was seriously watching Ghostbusters the other night and Salome reminds me so much of when Sigourney Weaver goes all crazy hot. I love how it extends out at the sides because its so thick and curly. The second style is Versage, this style needs to be medium length for men too, it screams 70’s surfer, and the curls for the girls just makes it so Californian beachy keen. The third style Magdalen is three in one, you can wear the most amazing beehive twist on its own, or you can add the extension tail that is over the shoulder at the front. You can even wear the tail on its own with a hairbase and have a sleeker tail look…I think it is absolutely fabulous and so would Patsy.
Salome has all that rawr factor going on, so to compliment that ideal I went with the gorgeous maxi dress from Baiastice that has leopard print amongst floral and other vivid colours. The prints on these dresses are fabulous, I have seen mixed prints before that can be a little bit of a strain on the eye, but Baiastice definitely has that European verve when it comes to styling.
The Versage had me wanting a mix of both professional and street, and with the cocoro shorts from Toki Doki I love the look. These shorts have tailored styling that brings to mind mens suit pants, so as soon as I saw them it was instant love. Pairing them up with the draped tshirt from Ison – who coincidentally is also a this years Hair Fair with a brand new hair line. Also to give that carefree Cali look, the sunglasses on a cord are just one of the options in the new sunglasses packs from MG by Maxi Gossamer. The sunglasses come in different options of wear, such as hanging around the neck on a string or cord like shown, or atop the head and lastly you can even wear them on your nose covering your eyes, I know right? shocking. All jokes aside they are fabulous, and the lenses have different options as well.
All the poses I am using in this post are by Adorkable Poses who are the official pose makers for Hair Fair 2012. They made a pose pack especially for the event that is for taking pictures of hair, and they are donating a percentage of its sales to Wigs for Kids during the event, so be sure to check that out while you are visiting.
Another great event going on at the moment is Collabor88 for July. The Mignon top is from Ingenue and I couldn’t help but think it was bloggers fate to pair a Mignon with a Chignon. The top has a lovely line to it, with the flared out portion looking lovely with a sleeker pencil skirt, and though the Nikka from Celoe does fan out at the back it was just right.
I hope you can take the time to visit Hair Fair 2012 and support the fantastic creators that are donating a percentage of their sales to Wigs for Kids. If you want to know more about Wigs for Kids go HERE and you can see the Hair Fair listed in their events page.

Strapped in for Summer
A new series of FaMESHed has begun, so be sure to get your mesh groove on. The item from there I am featuring today is the mini corset from Tee*fy and trust me you will love it. Not just this incredible floral number, but the leopard is divine , I will definitely be wearing that on another occasion. They are standard sizes, and they come not only in this lovely print but lace versions too, as well as half sheer and full sheer options.
The shorts and the sweatshirt are the latest Mon Tissu release, ever since Tres Blah released an off the shoulder shirt a long time ago, I have been hoping for a mesh version, my prayers and I am sure the prayers of many were answered. The top is perfect for that casual look that can either be dressed up or dressed down…either way it is terrific. The shorts detailing are really good on, with the lovely cuffs and loops, the pocket work is really nice too, and the shape at the back is super cute.
I especially like the texture work on the shorts, as it has that really durable quality to it. I would really like to see these done longer in mens sizes too, as I am sure the men of sl would like also.
The hair I am wearing is the Jolie hair that will be familiar to many already, but is now released in Mesh making it even more beautiful, but with the release of Cachet it just got a whole lot prettier, because if you add the pony tail attachment from Cachet to Jolie you get a higher fuller half updo look, which I just love.
The Cachet style comes with a hair covering bun option as well, but wearing it this time with the Lelutka hairbase tattoo for a tighter sleek looking tail, the great thing about the hair bases is that they are modify, so you can tint them to match other styles or give them a bit of of a deeper look. The pony also fits in with the regular base covering the bun, so really you get three styles in one.
Another amazing new item from the people that gave us Lelutka lol, are the people that now give us Celoe as well. The Aelia Wedges are their NEW mesh feet in shoes release. The wedges come in 15 beautiful colours with three of them being a two tone effect. The leather is so soft and worn in, I really like those kinds of details that they do over there, with the shoes looking like you have already been addicted to them for weeks from the very first time you put them on.
For the LeLutka skin wearers this is an added bonus also, as the Celoe HUD skintones are LeLutka skin tones for the most part, so for me wearing the Natasha skin in Walnut it was a one click done kind of deal…total shoe bliss. The HUD is so easy to use, and has preset storage and resizing options. Tinting is a charm too, even if you don’t wear LeLutka skins you will find it very easy to use, not only does it have RGB options but also HSL depending on which you prefer. There is also a white tone, which is new, giving those that go with more adventurous skin tones – such as green or purple etc – the ability to match to those types of fantasy skins also.
The necklaces are by Maxi’s and if you have seen them in the past these are the newly released versions, with colour change options as well as different length combos, if you didn’t already have them, they are a must have. So are the fun 60’s Gogo disc earrings that have different print options at a click.
The poses I am using are from Diesel Works and at the moment they are having a SALE so be sure to check that out.

A Fairy Tale
The shoes I am posting today are making me want to burst into song, the problem with that though is that the song is really not appropriate and Aussies will know exactly what I mean and may just snicker. They are the Ute shoes by Baiastice , and their high platform front brandished with a lovely bow make them both pretty and fierce at the same time.
They come in nine colours and are part of the Baiastice release at the Fairy Tales event that is happening at the moment. Fairy Tales is an event put on by the team at Glam Affair and Tableau Vivant, they have invited incredible designers to take part in this two week showcase, and there is even a Fairy Tales 2012 flickr group in which you can share your own pictures of the items to share with others.
The outfit I am wearing is actually a mix of things, some from Fairy Tales and other pieces from much older items. The upper items are all from the Malefic set by Sakide, this truly evil witch outfit is spot on for creativity, there is even a tattoo layer of make up for the skin – not worn – as well as other pieces. But I wanted to utilise the corset and upper portion of the coat to show that it could be worn with other items to create more ease of wear. The corset is a stunner as a separate wearable also.
The Mia skin I am wearing is from Glam Affair, the skin comes with four make up options that are all very lovely. I have added a tattoo layer though around the eyes of this one, so all that elaborate liner is actually from Nuuna’s.
For full fierce effect you cannot go past this incredible faux hawke by LaGyo. It is the Dandelion Hawke, and it is remarkable as an attachment over either a bald head, a shaved hair base – this one is from Wasabi Pills – or even a hairstyle of your choosing, the spikes with flowers on the ends really add a touch of runway to the look. The other amazing LaGyo item available at Fairy Tales are the Alice Earrings. They are amazingly detailed and have lots of options for colours of stones and the metal, you can change them with a click and a drop down menu, they fit me really well I just had to move them out a little bit.
Make sure you do not miss this wonderful collection of Fairy Tale inspired items at this event, more to come I assure you.

Elysium has upped that to dizzying heights now with the new addition of Implant Applications to some of her previous releases. If you have never tried add on breasts, well this is your opportunity to do so with beautiful clothing as the end goal. There are many out there, and at one time or another I think I have tried them all, the latest I have encountered are the Mused ones, and these are the ones that Elymode has designed her add ons around. The appliers for Mused though do work with many of the other implants so you are most likely going to find that if you already have breasts you are covered – pun pun pun.
The appliers are so easy to use too, you just have to wear it and it removes itself and your breasts are instantly covered with the fabric that matches the item you are wearing. So simple and easy, you just need to be sure you have on the shirt layer option on the breasts activated at the time, but that is as easy as a button press.
Elymode Mused Implant Appliers are actually now INCLUDED with the clothing they are intended for, no additional cost, the other exciting thing is that if you have ever purchased the items they are made for you can UPDATE FREE ! by visiting the store and choosing the redelivery option for those items, or if you purchased from Marketplace, find your transaction on the MP website, and then send the info to Elysium Eilde in world. To know which items have the implants there is a great little graphic on the vendor ads.
Also so that you can tell if they will fit breasts you already have, you can grab demos at the store or on Marketplace by searching Elymode and using the newest first option, or click HERE. Then you can try them on in the privacy of your own home.
I love how the new options look, they definitely add something to the whole outfit, and it definitely goes to show that wearing them can be really tasteful depending on how and what you wear them with. You also have the options of resizing the breasts to sizes like I have on now, which would be around 70-80 on a regular slider, or even larger, the choice is yours. There may be some difference in the way the textures sit when making them larger, but as they are modify you can play around with that yourself- just be sure to make a copy of your breasts before you do any changes to them.
As much as I love flaunting my assets this way, it is the Meli top, the adorable one with the bow, that is just awesome with implants, so cute and sexy at the same time. The matching panties and bloomers are tonnes of fun to wear, and as I said these implants are just an included extra now, the items look fabulous with or without. Elysium has future releases planned with these and I am excited and very eager to see them, so is my partner lol.
The shoes I am wearing in these pics are from Mon Tissu, the latest mesh release called OpenWork Wedges. First impression of these shoes was OMG someone took nurse shoes and made them super hot. No seriously the front the way they lace up is just so prim and proper, but the cut outs and the wedge heel just add that little touch of summer sexy to the mix, I love them. The colours are great too, enough to cover all outfit combos for summer and beyond.
All the hairstyles I am wearing are perfect for this kind of look, I was actually so excited to see Aphrodite by LeLutka as it was flared out in that area, and a perfect fit. Also the Ploom Flint hair fit perfectly over the size I have mine at. Styles like the Call Me by Exile bringing the hair back works especially well, no moving needed at all, so for much larger sizes this would be a definite must have.
Now about the Mused Full Breasts, they are so pretty, they have an incredible amount of options for matching to so many skin types and tones…as well as clothing layers and little additions that definitely make them different from the other breasts on the market. The difference is that they are set up for a game of COW, ok seriously no kidding, as Elysium said ‘ _______________________________” lol I would never tell :P. But there are all sorts of features and some kind of group game thing you can get into, or you just wear them because they really are stunning breasts. You can get demos at their mainstore, or just buy them on MP. There are also all sorts of great additional features for making sure your skins match perfectly. More info HERE.

Hair Fair 2012 – Photo Contest, Bandana Day, Demo Group
Hair Fair 2012 is almost a month away, but as every year the month leading up to the event is full of activity. Not just the hair creators involved busily creating incredible styles that will be released, or any of the other behind the scenes things. It is the two big events that happen every year.
In 2008 we came up with the Hair Fair Photo Contest, it was originally an “Homage to Hair Creators” we did actually ask for not only a picture, but also we wanted to hear about how the wearers felt about the style, the creator and other things they would think of in writing…this was difficult for some due to language restrictions, so we changed it so that everyone would feel comfortable entering. Each year the entries have been wonderful and this years collection so far is great.
The theme is Freedom, and we felt that it would mean people could represent through their hair and images what that means to them. I for one feel that hair in SL gives us the freedom to be who we want to be, be as wild and creative or as demure and classically elegant as we choose, and that it can all change in seconds and create a whole new look. If you were to wear a basic black outfit, skirt or pants, top or dress it wouldn’t really matter, but something simple…then changed your hair, you would definitely see such different parts of you appear.
I hope you consider entering, you can enter up to 8 images, and they do not have to have fancy photoshop/gimp etc techniques or be all about new hair etc. The Prizes are incredible, we have so many generous contributors who have offered prizes, so the winners will get a selection from the prize pool, and then 7 runners up will get VIP Early Access to Hair Fair 2012. All the winners will be shown at Hair Fair on each sim, as we do every year, so you have until June 30th to get your entries in, and if you have any questions just contact Sasy Scarborough or Ashia Tomsen .

ZibskaNow about Bandana Day
In 2007 two weeks before Hair Fair was about to start I IM’d Six Kennedy and told her about Bandana Day, an event held in Australia that raises money for children with Cancer. That they sell bandanas for people to wear on that day, and also many people shave their heads to raise money to donate as well… the stories you see about that are always so wonderful. I know of a guy that worked in a bar in Sydney who had really long hair and beard, and they challenged him to do it, and he said that he would only do it if they raised a certain amount of money, because if he was going to do so, then the kids sure as hell were going to benefit from it…it was beautiful to see those strands of hair fall to the floor, they ended up raising much more than what he had originally declared as the amount.
I had remembered that Elika of then ETD had once had a hair she sold for rfl that actually had a bandana on it, and knew that the look was exactly what was needed, so suggested to Six that she should ask her and so on. Well Six said it was a great idea and that I should take care of it, and that is how Bandana Day and Hair Fair became one. That first year I was so excited by how many people sent in bandanas to sell, and I actually stood at the table I had them set out at the whole time I was online, because it was just so amazing to be part of all that excitement. Since then we have had Bandanas on all the sims for Hair Fair , and little things have been added, such as now the bandana is sculpted – thanks to Damien Fate for creating it – and also we now ask that the people that create them include a notecard sharing why they are doing so – if they want to, and if there is a reason that is more personal to them – each year it takes me longer to set up than it should because the notecards make me cry, but it is always such an incredible part of Hair Fair as a whole.
People contact me leading up to it, and ask all sorts of questions, they arrange parties where they let their friends know to go and buy them and then come back for a big bash, they do their own fundraising at the events and then donate that money to Hair Fair for Wigs for Kids, and all of it is really amazing, and then when it is Bandana Day on the last day of Hair Fair – this year 29th July – where everyone takes off their hair to show they care, and wears them with pride, my heart swells looking at the feeds and seeing blog posts where bloggers are wearing their Bandanas they have purchased.
If you want a kit to create your own Bandana to be then sold to raise money for Wigs for Kids, the kit is available by IMing me – Sasy Scarborough – in world, even if you are unsure get one anyway and play with it, then if you are happy with the result all the info is in the kit. You can google and flickr search for past Bandanas and see all the great and fun looks people have achieved with their bandanas.
The reason we do everything we do for Hair Fair is to help Children through the Charity Wigs for Kids. You can see their mission, their history and all the great things they do on their website.
Every person knows what it is like to be a child, and the idea that through Hair Fair every year we can change even one child’s life in such a way as they do through Wigs for Kids, is enough incentive for all of us to do as much as we can. I hope everyone joins us this year, spreads the word and does all they can to help us raise funds for this Charity.
All of the participants are donating 15% of EVERY purchase at the event…so every purchase you make goes to helping a child.
The Hair Fair Demo Group will also be sending the hairstyles the day before the event opens to the public, so be sure to remember to join that, and spread the word so everyone can get to Hair Fair with their shopping lists ready.
