Covered top to toe for at least a ………………..week? 😛

My goodness what a week so far, and yes I know it’t only monday for many of you, but for me the week started with the opening of Hair Fair. I’ve completely lost track of days, time etc, it’s frazzling. But amongst all that I have been dieing to show some newness and oldness and just plain YummyNess.

First off is the Monica Dress from CKS Designs. A beautiful Halter style ring dress, with an asymmetrical flexi skirt, actually to be honest I’m not sure if that is the right term- is asymmetrical side to side or can it be back to front too?- anywho, it’s longer at the back than the front :P. Dress styles like this one are perfect for dancing as they swish and twirl so well. Monica comes in an abundance of colours and every layer imaginable, and Kit Maitland also lists all of her items on Onrez and SLX so great for gifting.

A cute dress needs cute shoes, and the New Stella Shoes from Dela are just that. Stunning textures as usual these shoes have a sensational bow at the open toes beautifully crafted and trimmed in gold, they are a delight on the eyes and the toes. I really like the solid heel on these too, still as high as a great stiletto but with a sturdiness to them, which is great for dancing.

The Alesa Hair from Diversity Hair is available at Hair Fair and is the Charity Style for that booth, 50% of all sales of that style will go to locks of love for the duration of the fair. A wondeful layered style that can be casual or dressy with some primping in the mirror, its that kind of cut that just works. SUZANA- sunkissed 7 from Lion Skins is the same sort of skin as the hair, beautiful and soft but can move into high Glam easily, the brown soft tones make it very natural but also striking when impact is needed.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTS, as I have said a few times now, it’s winter here , and I pine and ache for new boots. So my excitement is just crazy when today two incredible designers dropped boots on me. The first ones are by Adam n Eve’s Damen Gorilla. They are the new Skai boots and they are delish. The large buckle at the top is just fab for a biker sort of look, and the detailing in the textures at the foot is wonderful, these will be the first of a huge range of delish boots from Adam n Eve and I can’t wait to see more.

Going with that biker look, I opted for the sexy Leather pants also from Adam n Eve in black, I am wearing the underpants layer which are perfect for boot fit, they also come on the pants layer and have sculpted cuffs as well, beautiful work on the leather and there are fantastic colours to choose from. The fab Men’s Leather Biker jacket is from Valiant , and as I have said and shown before men’s stuff rocks on women.

Underneath I am wearing two tops that actually are no longer buyable as the creator left Phils Place over a year ago, but I love my Ruins folder and I was so happy to see a girl at Hair Fair wearing one of his dresses. RedX Boyoma was an incredible designer and an incredible giver, as not many knew but all sales from his store went to Charity it was just not something he promoted.

The hair is by !TM Tami McCoy makes fab hairstyles for all needs, and this one is her Charity Hair for the Hair Fair too. Fun and Funky the Playful style is just super cute. I really like her colour packs too, she blends so many together to give great variations of needs. The skin is the SUZANA-pale 56 by Lion Skins , this skin reminds me of The Crow so it was perfect for this biker/rocker look.

More BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTS, These are the Snakeskin boots by LYA , and they come in two different snakeskin patterns and the colours are just great. The zippers up the side finished off with the tassle are beautiful and the shape and heel are going to make you reach for them often.

Wearing an older style from League the Strictly Business set is just heaven for so many reasons. First off the military look to the overall style is just Yummy, I love the epaulets on the shoulders, the high collar too is neat, and the stunning skirt with the tail back is gorgeous, with detailing of straps criss crossed over the bum- talk about cheek enhancement.

The Nahla Hair from Maitreya at Hair Fair is oh so Yummy. The tight pony at the back holding firmly in place the loose front is just inspired and so difficult to master in RL as it depends strongly on the weight of your hair to carry this look off properly, but here we don’t have to worry about that at all, and no hair spray required. Being all about Business a lighter Make up is needed and the Lion Skins SUZANA- sunkissed 10 is just perfect for that, nude lips and softly shaded eyes with heavily lined lids its drop dead gorgeous.

Zorena Deckard of ookami Ninjen told me the other day about this event that was being hosted this weekend. With Hair Fair and everything else going on I didn’t get a chance until now to do anything about it :(. I have since then Donated some Gift Cards from Digit Darkes but also Donated 3 Dazzle Gowns that will be Auctioned off, I hope that that helps in some way and I hope that many of you can get over there and make a difference.

Phoenix Psaltery and his SL/RL wife Sansarya Caligari are both long-time, well known residents in SL. He owns part of one of the oldest SL newspapers, The Metaverse Messenger, and Sans blogs about her passionate love for SL fashion.

Just a few days ago, Phoenix went into complete renal failure and has ended up in intensive care at a hospital away from his home town, with a shunt for dialysis. Unfortunately, there are other complications as well, including pneumonia. Finances have gotten dire for them as Sans has to stay at a hotel while he’s in ICU, not to mention other expenses that are incurred and with children left at home in the care of relatives.

So their SL friends have joined together to help them! We are putting on an all day auction and live DJ event. Many people have donated items such as transferable Dazzle dresses, and merchants have made limited editions for sale at this auction only.

The event starts Saturday August 23 at 10AM SLT, with a fabulous DJ line up.

Unbalding for a Moment

Ok so for the last day and a bit, I have been bald and primless. Many of you know that Hair Fair 2008 is in full swing now, and as one of the Hair Fair Organisers I have been at the entrance of Orange for hours and needed a break.I also wanted to wear some of the hair I was able to get before we opened lol. Anyway this is by no means all of them :P, but I wanted to snap some shots and give you a peak.

This first one Jordan is from Discord Designs, it is an incredible braided style, and sooo awesome, the braiding detailing at the scalp to really give the effect of your hair being pulled tight and worked into these stunning braids is just wonderful. The mens pic in the lower corner is the Freebie for DIscord Designs, the beard and the hair in two colours, so make sure you check that out too.

The skin I have on is from Lion Skins and is the lovely SUZANA- sunkissed 60, wanting something that was subtle in colour but as dramatic as the hair, this skin is just perfect.

Dernier Cri has released Mariko on the left and Natasha on the right, both stunning styles in beautiful textures, the dyepack system is genius allowing you to buy as many as you want and creating your own unique colour pack. The demo style allows you to change colour as often as you want to , but the purchased wigs only allows for once, so make sure if you are buying more than one you keep your demo and demo dye pack so that for the next time you want to colour one of your purchases you can test with the demo first.

Mariko is a long sculptie style, very soft bangs and lovely waves, Natasha is a beautiful semi pulled through bun style with lovely wisps of hair on the sides, great for casual or formal events.

The skin is Lion Skins SUZANA- sunkissed 51, stunning soft peach like lips and eye make up offsetting the same peachy yummyness with some splashes of lime, this skin would be great for cocktail hour lol.

Dernier Cri at the Hair Fair

HCT’s Babyboo Glitterbuck has started only recently to do Sculpted hair, and wow. We all know that going from priims to sculpties has been a huge task for many and its wonderful when a blend of both is used in a style. The styles shown from left to right are Moni, Raina and Fiona and the little pick is Lonnie the Freebie Female hair for HCT (Here Comes Trouble).

Gorgeous sidepony in the Moni with lovely layered effect in the length, the Raina hair is two pieces, the hair at the front and the way cool beanie, that comes in so many different patterns and colours. Fiona is sooo gorgeous , it is a stunning Uppy Do with such wonderful curls. You get the with and without headband option in this style, and I adore both.

This skin SUZANA-pale 57 is one of my Favorites of the Lion Skins, it looks so wonderful and I can just imagine the incredible pictures that arty type people could take with it.

HCT at the Hair Fair

Mirada has the wonderful short style Codie on the right with that sort of shag razor look in a gorgeous wine texture, it is scripted for easy resizing and would look great on men also. Rattus-Alex is a wonderful Dreads style pulled back tight and tied off with an intricate knot, allowing for some loose and strategic tendrils on the sides, this is sold as main colour with three streaks combos included. Lindsey the smaller pick is the freebie style also scripted and in the fat pack of all colours.

SUZANA- sunkissed 63 by Lionskins has incredible dramatic eyemake up and soft lips, another of my favs of the Lion Skins range.

Getting ready to attend this year’s Hair Fair? Great! The sims will open in just under an hour!!!

Just sending out some friendly advice for everyone who’s clicking away at their landmarks trying to land a spot as the first few shoppers for this year’s events…

Firstly, we must all remember that there will of course be lag. Though the pudding/jello walk will be undeniable avoidable – here are a few tips that you can do to help ease the pain of walking slush and rubber-band shopping throughout the FOUR hair fair sims:

– There are FOUR sims this year – so if you are trying to get into one and failing, perhaps try starting in a different sim? Each sim offers a bounty of hairstyles from everyone’s favorite coiffures in Second Life, and even if you cannot go directly to the sim hosting your personal favorite, taking a walk through another might introduce you to something new and equally as great!

– Hair Fair 2008 will stand for roughly -two weeks- this year! Though the prospect of stuffing your inventories with new hair all in the first day may be enticing, there will be events and shopping for the full duration of the event. If you are looking to demo hairstyles, the best way to do so is to explore the sims and pick up the demos and then try them elsewhere so that you can later return and pick up the hairstyles of your choosing.

– Less prims = Less Lag. This isn’t a concept that is new to shopping in Second Life as we all know. Please be courteous to your fellow shoppers and reduce your prim counts before entering the sims. The most daring of course will go without their favorite heels and high-prim hairs, but for the more self conscious – we ask that you think of the others as well as yourself before hopping in. (You may also want consider going bald especially if you’ll be returning home to try on your prim hairs/demos before buying.)

– Removing scripted HUDS/items such as AOs will greatly benefit the stability of the sim in which you are shopping in. (These items can include but are not limited to AOs, Mysti HUDS, Emote HUDS, bling particles, facelights etc.)

Please remember, above all else – Hair Fair 2008 is a charity event that benefits a wonderful cause (Locks of Love). Please be kind to your fellow shoppers and designers alike and remember what we are all here trying to do.

Ok so there is this poses store , and its the poo, I mean the shit , I mean the diggity doo doo. Hee Hee so you have to get over there asap , and join the subscribo and get the most recent notice sent on the 17th that tells you more about this craptastic store , psssst its a hunt and no just any hunt but an AWESOME hunt, so make sure you have your wellys on and trudge on over.

Omg the excitement, yesterday the Artilleri group went into overdrive when Antonia Marat the incredible designer behind the label announced not only was she back, but that there were New releases. Not just New Releases but 50% off New releases.

I was at an important event and I couldn’t yay in Group IM fast enough , because her return date was also her 3rd rezday, such an awesome day to return on. Once I yay’d and wished her many happy returns as well did many many others in her group, I waited with bated breath for the texture to rez. Not only are they all delish, but one item just leapt out at me, I have always been a huge fan of Artilleri Swimwear, and one bikini I have had since way back is the Meow Bikini, with its incredible vintage style and gorgeous leopard print.

Any time there was ever a swim wear/beach party event in the past, it was nearly always my first choice, and Fiachra Lach of Essentia even made me a Hair Rose to match. So you can imagine how excited I was once the NEW LeeLee Bikini Leo rezzed in the picture, I honestly never thought a bikini of hers could top the Meow but now I am totally torn lol. Not just torn I had to get not only that , but also the LeeLee Bikini Zebra as well as others about to be shown.

These are pin-up bikinis without a doubt, totally gorgeous the texture is so rich and velvety looking , its so not a swim suit but totally a bathe and look fabulous suit. The hair I am wearing in todays post are also from Artilleri she does some fantastic retro styles, with lovely textures. This first one is the Dayna v2 Hair, and the cute little pony tail ties are scripted to texture change and WOOT they have a Leopard texture to match.

With the LeeLee Leo I am wearing another of the fantastic Lion Skins, this is the SUZANA- sunkissed 1, perfect for the Retro/Pin-up loo, stunning smokey eyes and that beauty mark just blisses me out. Again what better way to show off that lickable tummy than with such fab Kini’s. The Skin worn with the LeeLee Zebra is SUZANA- sunkissed 62, I adore what Lion has done to the eyes on this make-up, so alluring and dramatic, and the lipstick is just perfect.

The other set that I just had to show is the Sabrina full piece, again Pin-Up love for these stunning polka dot bathing suits, the style is just gorgeous and so can be utilised as tops with pants or pretty skirts I am sure. The cutout at the empire line is adorable and the other fab release is the New Onyxia sunglasses, now I cheated a bit with edit , these do not go on the top of head or slide into your cossie, I just put them that way so you could see the skins better lol.

This hair is Dayna v1and just as cute with its little slightly to the side short pony. The skins left to right are LionSkins-24 with the stunning rich greens in the shadow and pale lips, LionSkins-29 with subtle reds in both the shadow and the lips and the SUZANA-basic which is a wonderful bare of make up skin, great for work or casual looks, they are all stunning so again Demo Demo Demo.

Rock Me Fae-medeus

Faery Sola of Studio Sidhe has been a very busy Fae of late. She has rebuilt her main store, been creating poses, been creating some incredible Jewelry pieces in sculpties, and collaborated with Shelly Toonie of Moonshine to create the incredible Shaylee set , that started off with wings.

These hand painted wings are so beautiful, they are what inspired the stunning strapless top that matches them, and then went on to inspire the divine flowing peasant style skirts. I just love how creativity goes through such wonderful progressions like that.

I was very upset though, that from being swamped so much lately, I hadn’t had the chance to already show the incredible Quartz Crystal Pendant and Earrings also from Studio Sidhe, and worse had to ask Faery to hold off on sending me Shaylee for a few days.

But see, as I have mentioned so many times in other posts, I strongly believe in Blogger Fate. The day before last, Poptart lilliehook IM’d me asking if I showcased Skins – ok she said review but I don’t like that word. I asked a few questions and got a LM and the next day tp’d over to check them out. I grabbed the Demos, tpd home and WOW!, seriously just WOW!.

The Store is Lionskins and the creator is Lion Jonesford, many of you probably know her work from LBD as she has a store there as well, but I was totally floored by not only the latest releases in the skin range, but also the older skins. This is where the fate comes in, while I was trying on the skin Demo’s all that kept flashing through my head was Shaylee and so many other creations I have and have seen, and imagine these skins and their incredible make-ups to look superb with.

This first one is bliss, the Shaylee set in Fire is just a superb array of rich warm tones, the wings and top as I said are hand painted and just superb. The top is a concept of being wrapped in the wings themselves, and the skirt is just gorgeous, I can see wearing any of the pieces of these sets often. The beautiful Quartz Crystal set is in Amber and just enhances the whole ensemble.

“AMBER: Actually fossilised tree resin, cheering and joyful, repels spiders and is a powerful healer. It stimulates intellect, purifies birthing rooms (when burned). Used to assure vows and promises.”

This first skin is the SUNKISSED-LionSkins-32 which isn’t one of the New ones but an older skin and just remarkable, and the price on this one is only 600L , the newer skins are 1200L and between the two I doubt there isn’t a make-up you will not love. The colours in the make-up are just perfect for this set, and the design surrounding the eyes is in keeping with the whole winged look.

The next set is the Shaylee in Opium, again a stunning array of incredibly vibrant colours, mixing purples with blues and silver, which again is beautifully matched this time with the Quartz Crystal set in Abalone. This time the skin of choice is LionSkins SUZANA- sunkissed 41, this is one of the newer skins released, I just love the soft lips but incredible Smokey eyes, that again the blends of colour were just perfect for this set and so many other wonderful creations.

Being in my mid 30’s and starting out young in going out, other aussies will varify that in the 80’s here going out underage was wayyyy easy. Even easier if you were tall like me. One thing I have mentioned in the past is that I used to only wear black, black everything, except I didn’t go much for the black make-up. All my colour went into my eyes and lips, I probably had every colour eyeshadow, lipstick and liner you could imagine and I went overboard always , not tacky blue shadow 80’s overboard – and that is kind of a overused exaggeration that we did wear that much light blue shadow anyway.

I used to be highly creative in my make-up and it was awesome fun, and all of the Lion Skins remind me of that, whatever you are wearing whether it be rich in colours or a basic tone, these skins will just enhance and dazzle.

Spring Shaylee is a lush array of green and orange tones , so delightful and fresh. I love this kind of green you just feel invigorated in it. The Greenstone Quartz Crystal set again just looks stunning , the brown leather necklace is just perfect for this style of pendant.

As soon as I put it on I knew which skin I wanted to wear with it, it being the first in the folder I had passed it a few times choosing and went straight to it this time, the blend of colours are matched perfectly with the Shaylee Spring , its funky and stylish and looks like someone tagged your face with make up. It is the LionSkins–SUZANA- sunkissed 67. I just love the no lipstick look with that simple soft green stripe , just yummy.

Purple Haze Shaylee is another blend of beautiful Purples and Blues , this time deeper and oh so delish. I love the midnight blue and silver in this top and wings especially and the addition to a rosey pink as the underlayer of the skirt is inspired , Shelly did a magnificent job on the skirts for this set.

Going with a softer make-up this time in the form of the LionSkins–SUZANA- sunkissed 49, as the set is so bright and rich this time I wanted to show a softer face look and this is perfect, the lips are just barely made up , but just enough and the shadow is wonderful.

Winter Shaylee is where I am at and with it being Silver/Grey for the most part, I am loving it. The purples and the rich blue are just fabulously combined and again I can see myself in the skirt lots and lots. LionSkins–SUZANA- sunkissed 23 is the make up choice this time, nude lips and the dramatic eyes with more of a pink than purple shadow, which always looks great with silver and the others, extending out to the sides in a similar depth of blue, just gorgeous.

The hair I am wearing in all these pics is the Pompadour hair by Shop Seu, a brilliant pulled back slightly to the side pony, and OMG that swept back bangs look is just gorgeous, The thing I think is brilliant about this hair too is the incredible way that Seu has made the hair line look like baby hairs that many of us have, its just brill.

Now for the Rock, Stellar Designs creator Lexi Morgan just recently released the Rockstar set, the cute thing about it is that she made it a pants set, but her huge fan base got so mortified that there wasn’t her signature mini mini mini skirt as as option. So Lexi went and created the Rockstar skirts to match , so everyone is happy now. It is an adorable set both ways, beautifully textured , and the use of a jacket layer to choose what kind of motif you want on the front of the shirt is genius, whether it be a star or guitar or you want the world to know you ROCK.

I am also loving the chance to wear the Kitties Lair High heels in Vintage Gold with this Gold Rockstar set, and I do apologise for not having a larger pic of them, but you can try the Demos on at the store , they are beautiful. The hair is the Cyberlocks hair from Deviant Kitties, I adore this style and just thought that rocker hair was called for. I am also wearing the Unisex Choker Chain from Essentia , love this choker and wear it often , so detailed in the prim work and looks great on guys or girls.

The delightful Goldish Makeup is the SUNKISSED-LionSkins-2 again one of the older skins and just Gorgeous, One thing I MUST point out, is that the body detailing on the older and newer do differ, so you must check the Demos nakey at home, stresses the at home part coz “M” getting her gear off in the store has traumatised me for the week lol – j/k only slightly traumatised – and as she said the tummies are lickable lol.

Silver Rockstar is just scrumptious too, the metalics in both the gold and the silver are just wonderful, the detailing on the pants is super cute and you get the option of belted or not, which is wonderful if you have a fab prim/sculpted belt collection of your own you favor. You can see better in this pic the Star emblem on the front of the shirt, as I said you can wear with or without these , so handy.

The BP* Big Bomb Hair 1 was just perfect for this look, its so big lol and just incredibly styled , there are two versions in the pack and I love the way the bangs on this one are slightly parted for a more realistic look. See see lickable tummy in the house, the make up this time and again one I had passed so ran straight to it is the LionSkins–SUZANA-pale 15 , the metailic shine to the shadow on this is creamy and I used to have some incredible cream shadows in the 80’s in metalic blues and greens , omg I love those , do they even make that kind of thing anymore?. The rich red in the lips on this one are matte and divine, the kind of make up you need when thrashing about to your favourite band.

The shadow on this SUNKISSED-LionSkins-22 is inspired yet again, the use of patterns below the brow, really creates a theme to dress for, black lined and those agian beautiful bruised pink lips, I call that shade of pink that because to me thats how it looks and its such a gooooooood thing. Again this is one of the older skins, so you have so much choice.

The Rockstar pink shows the unbelted option this time with guitar motif , and just look at my muscles from rocking out lol. The hair is Edgy an older style thats been recently given a new lease on life from Diversity Hair , slight changes to bring it up to a new fresh look and just delish especially in this pink.

Rockstar Red gave me the chance to run over to Gritty Kitty and grab the newish Bilirubin hair, this hair is scripted for the streaks to change colour and the fab bandana skarf to change textures. I didn’t get a pic of the back and its more so because I do not want to spoil the surprise that I got when I tried on the Demo , I was in fits of giggles, but INCREDIBLE prim/sculptie work on whats back there , but talk about 80’s flashbacks lol. The style is wonderful and you do have the option to just make the streaks black so that you have a all over look if your colour choice is black, as this is.

Heavenly Smokey Red Shadow in the SUNKISSED-LionSkins-14 – again older style skin – I love the semi gloss look to the lips on this one , the same as the gold, you could wear this with your every day cas look for sure.

So make sure you head over to Lion Skins and try on Demo after Demo, so much fun even if you aren’t looking for skins right now, save your favourites and next time you have an event to dress for, consider making your skin the centre of attention.
