This has been a big week for innovative skin releases, and this Hybrid mesh and skin combination is definitely something worth seeing up close and personal. Gogo and Willow have both done fantastic posts so far on this release, and unlike the fear many have about mesh making us look the same, I don’t think that we do. Features yes but its how you play with the combinations that give much more than imagined.
The New Chloe hybrid mesh system by LOGO is a Mesh head/skin combination, with an amazing array of options. The skins line up at the neck, so the absolute bonus of this kind of package is that you can wear system clothing and all sorts of mesh items with it. That alone is a win for many. Each Chloe purchase comes with all tones, there are five of them, which in itself just helps the buy process along very easily, because committing to this kind of look, always has some kind of ‘but what if later I want to be lighter/darker, I would have to buy it again, well not with this, because you get it all at the one time…which if you are a store owner and were considering this for your models is a double win.
You also get the head in two sizes, one is set to zero body fat, and the other is set to 16, I had to change a copy of my shape only because of chin and jaw, as there was a slight gap on the join, once I did that I was perfectly joined. You get three skin choices, which have to do with the breast areas, smaller and larger which is a great thing, you also get tattoo layers for stomach, which give a firm or muscular look to the body…the muscular was too much for me, but I know there are some out there that like that look and Maximillion of LOGO does know his skins. Then you have a bottom option on a tattoo layer, which I thought was so adorable, and on top of that there are 9 nipple options on tattoo layers for each skin base you choose to wear. Those are just the things you put on at first.
After you wear the skin, add the alpha and attach the head, you will see you have no eyes, well that is taken care of also, you can add the eyes in the folder with the teeth as its all one thing, and then you add the brows and the HUD that comes with the default package. Now everything just gets into a whole new realm of awesome. You are first all ooooo ahhh by the many eyeshadows and lipticks options, because it is HUD controlled that gives you hundreds of options of wear combining the two with there being 16 of each. Then on top of that you have brows in different colours, I mixed between the blonde and the brown for the post.
Then you travel further down and you realise the eyes have 16 eye colours and the eyes are just beautiful, but you can leave them off and go with your own mesh eyes if you have some, but you will not be able to wear system layer eyes, as the alpha on the head removes them. You then glance to your right, because lashes beckon and you have all these NO NEED TO FIT THEM YOURSELF lashes options, that go from very light to true diva style lashes, and even an OFF option so you can wear your own if you choose to. This might be something I do because mine are mesh strands, and the lashes in the head are mesh with texture so they do have alpha issues with some mesh hair from a side angle, you will have to work out what is best for you, but as I said, the no lash option is there.
Then down the very bottom you have NOSES, and its like wait, noses, do they change ? they do, but not the shape just the texturing to them, and while it is very subtle it does change the face enough that you and a friend could both get Chloe and look different to each other. Cheeks also just above the nose do give more of an angular look to the face depending on which you choose. So thats just the tip, hundreds of make up looks, eyes, noses, lashes, brows its already all sorts of wonderful.
Then you click the top of the HUD it spins and suddenly you have what looks like an emoter hud that many are familiar with…and YES your face changes, suddenly you have parted lips, pouts, angry face and your eyes change with and along with them go your lashes, this is marvellous again no extra editing or post process work on pics. The other great thing is that the head is scripted to blink, so you don’t stare blankly and as the eyes are rigged to the actual SL eyes, if you have a HUD that controls the way in which your eyes focus, you can still use that as I did to keep everything straight. There is also a miniature hud for expressions you can wear just day to day, so you can change your face on the go, also there is included a storage hud that you wear and it records your favourite make up combo, so you can wear it, choose your look and then remove it to wear at any time in the future.
Then if all of that is not enough for you, and you are all about, oh but I will get bored with potentially 1024 make up combinations, yes I did the math…you can actually already purchase additional HUDs for lips, eyes and cheeks and they are crazy inexpensive again adding hundreds if not a thousand more combinations. That is just the make ups, when you factor in noses and brows it just goes on and on, as well as the skin options, and so on. This is a MUST have system for anyone that wants to take the leap into a mesh looking face, because with shadows and so on, you wont have those harsh angles of SL avatar faces, you will have nice smooth curves to your face.
Also if you are the type to do facial piercings , well as you can see mine fit the same as they did on my regular shape, you may have to move things around a little bit. Try the DEMOS see how you like it, I am looking forward to seeing more of the Hybrids coming from LOGO I already got a peak today of the next face and she is a beauty, I think there is even a pic of her at the store.
When I shot the make up options I did a simple one eye one lips pic all the way down through the 16, but of course as mentioned you can have so many different combo’s as well as with the add on make ups.

She’s got Legs
The outfits today are totally looks that I would wear if it wasn’t so hot outside right now, but they are definitely looks that I have worn in the past, as I definitely tend to favour this style of pants being tall, and I had a love affair with blazers over the years too. The pants are the latest release from Baiastice and the style as well as the beautiful thin belt just add up to pure bliss and MUST HAVE items.
In the first pic I went with the monochromatic look of black and white, with some silver thrown in with the amazing new jewellery sets by Gossamer Jewellery. They actually include different colour options, so in the other pic I went with the choc gold combo as well.
The blazer is from Emery, and is fabulous, but a word of warning, due to the avatar limitations, the sleeve length of the jacket does make for some issues with the alpha ability and the skin. Because of where the sleeves end, the avatar stretches when the arms are bent and skin that is usually covered by the alpha actually stretches to then become exposed…this is not a defect of the clothing, but the limitations of the avatar…so be sure to demo before you buy in case your AO does a lot of bending at the arm. Because I know what’s doing it, it doesn’t bother me.
I put the blazer over an old top from LeLutka that I adore, that has a cute sculpted knot at the mid section, and thought it was very appropriate for this sexy boardroom look, kind of imagining that the blazer would be buttoned up at some stage and all appearing professional if need be. The second pic has a mix of tops, the fitted hybrid mesh sweater from Celoe, that is system top layer and mesh collar, so that the necklace fit well and it has that tucked into the pants look. Then the oversized sweater again from Emery that is really beautiful when styled this way, almost changing it altogether into a classy top, but of course change what it is worn with and you could have a very different style altogether.
The third swater is the merino sweater from Baiastice, this has an amazing overlayer to the mesh that gives a realism to being all soft and fluffy wool, I really like how it is done, especially since it was achieved without causing any mesh alpha issues with hair…great work. The hairstyles I am wearing are from Elikatira, most of them older styles, but the beautiful braided side do, is Interupt a new style that was supposed to be released around sale time, so for a short time has been discounted in the store, so if you love it, which you should, go grab it at the discount if it is still available, and if not, then grab it anyway, because hair is a steal for the amount of wear people get out of it.

The more I wear of the new Collabor88 items, the more I am loving the theme, the colours and just the overall feel of the collections. The threadbare manchester jeans are great cords in mesh, which either come in solids or two tone options. I am definitely more partial to the solid, but the two tone are definitely a fun option. The stitching on the seams is great, and I especially love the arrow tail detailing on the pockets.
I was especially glad to see that the same kind of detailing was evident on the vest from Sn@tch that is a much older item I already had, and worked to bring the look together. The other top worn are the great bodysuits part of Collabor88 by The Sea Hole. The bodysuits have beautiful detailing not only on the print part of the top, but also the really beautiful open button look.
The hairstyles also at the event are from LaViere, the ponytail style is a two part style, and actually looks really cute without the tail. The bob is just adorable, and I like the really straight bangs.
The new shoes I am wearing are Indra from Slink, these are the next release of Add On shoes that go over the medium height bare feet, so you need the mesh feet first, and then add the shoes. The style is very fun, with tread soles and a lovely high heel, the multi pack has lots of options of wear, you can change the straps and heel colours as much as you want, so the multipack is the way to go for lots of choice. I did change from the shoes mid way as the jeans are close at the back so they don’t allow for a curved heel shape in a high heel but fit a lot better with flats or shoes that aren’t as curved at the back, so DEMO DEMO DEMO.

Desert Heat – Collabor88/November
Only moments ago Collabor88/November opened its doors to the public, and the theme is Painted Desert for this round. Such beautiful colours, and really lovely items created around the heat evoking theme. One item that will be a wearable with ease item for many and a definite MUST HAVE ! is the Perla sweater that is Glam Affairs release for the event. It is a fabulous oversized sweater dress that just looks great with or without leggings underneath.
Adding to that the new boots by Baiastice, not part of the event, but the colours available do mix and match well. The boots come in standard sizing and have a great range of suede or fabric textures. For the vivid colours I am leaning towards the fabric, and the naturals in suede…I do especially like how high they are and the heel is wonderful.
Also from Collabor88/November are these hairstyles by Clawtooth that I am wearing, they are both variations of the same style. I really like how large the waves are, giving them more of a kink look rather than true curls, which is really cool for hair that is thick and heavy like this. As the colour chosen is so obviously not my natural colour, I am going with darker brows on the skin this time around, which as much as I love doing this, and it was definitely done on purpose as there are blonde brows with the skin. Also I am wearing the Saga mouth from Laq over the league skin, because I just love that mouth.
Other items are the really cool necklace and ring from LaGyo, they come in gold or silver and I really adore the chevron style of them, and love how well the rings just sit on the Slink hands without any need to adjust or anything YAY for Add, thank you whichever Lindens did that.

Leatherette – Two in One
Last week Anessa Stine came to visit wearing the NEW FANATIK dress that is part of their FaMESHed release for the month. As soon as I saw the sleeves I knew that they had used mesh in the way in which I wish many would, they had chosen the lace to be a separate ‘material’ than the rest of the dress, so that the alpha in the lace would not effect the rest of the dress, meaning you could wear mesh hair that has alpha without an effect, also it meant that if mod I could be tricky.
The dress is Mod, so I immediately rezzed it on the ground, and selecting the face of the sleeves turned the transparency up to 100 and BAM a sleeveless ALL Leather looking dress that is definitely HOT HOT HOT, and you of course get two looks for one. While I still like the charm of the lace sleeves, they are sweet, it is definitely the all leather look most will be craving, and the zipped back is really well done too, from the top to bottom an easy removal detail that adds to the sexy.
The hairstyles are all from Wasabi Pills and featured at some events all around the town. The Adorable ribboned up and pulled into a bob look is featured at The Costume Ball event, the gorgeous long style with headband is this months FaMESHed item, and lastly in the special colours is the Nikki that is part of the Tomorrow Today fundraiser being held at the moment, so be sure to grab all of those and enjoy the other great finds along the way. Remember that FaMESHed has also changed locations so update your LM’s or Slurls. All hairstyles should be available in the store once the events are over.
The skin I have on is a sneak peak of an upcoming launch for Adam n Eve. The Laina skin comes in 6 make ups, brow options, enhancer and dehancers for cleavage, and nail covers so you can wear fake nails without having to tint gloves. This is definitely a strong face and I really like the mouth a lot as well as the intense eye make up, I do wish that it did come without liner on the bare option, as it does not seem so bare if I still have so much black around the eyes, but I can live with it either way, as the black does add to the lashes I wear in a positive way. Make sure you check Laina out as well as the upcoming Disa skin, as both are just delightful and definitely don’t look overly young, which is a plus for sure.

Crystall Dunes and Second Life Stock Images
This is one of those times where you have to run, not walk – or in our case TP – as fast as you can, because you only have two days left. Crystall Dunes was open to the public recently, and so much love was bandied back and forth about it, that Neva has graciously extended the time until the 7th of November. Now if you do not know about Crystall Dunes, just imagine if every single home decor item or furniture piece you have ever admired, was set up in a way as to create the perfect home, or in this case homestead, because there is not only one house on the sim. Then the outdoors also is just beautiful, soft, subtle and has hundreds of possible photo taking oppurtunities.
Now a year or so ago we started the Second Life Stock Images group on Flickr, you have possibly seen me mention it before. It was actually inspired by Cajsa Lilliehook who so often sends out a long list of possible locations for photography, and the different attributes the location has, such as being able to rez or scripts yes or no, and so on. You see I tend to want to shoot outdoors, but by the time I find a space, and am happy with the location, something always goes wrong. Then with frustration I return to my VR Studio and am in bliss and safe from the outdoors and take my pics.
But I thought what if someone like Cajsa was to take pics without herself in the images, and share the locations that way. If people added pics to a flickr pool and we were given permission to use them for store ads, blog pics and/or photography it could maybe help some people. Also I hoped that it would give an advantage to those that don’t have strong enough graphics cards to load all the outdoors info into their pics as well as take the photos. So anyway that is how that came about.
Whimsy, Cajsa, myself as well as others add to the pool whenever we have time, and I would love everyone to consider each time they are out and about taking pics, to take a few extras without avatars in them and add them to the pool.
Now one thing I did do, because Crystall Dunes is a location that I believe Neva uses for a lot of her own Photography, I did contact her and ask permission, also I did not shoot her ‘things’ as such, there are amazing inside items that would take a lot of work to catalogue to give them the credit they deserve, so those types of things I left out of the Stock Images I made. But if you do go there yourself you are allowed to take pics, that is the idea of her opening it up.
Whimsy Winx of Virtually Dressed earlier today did a mini tutorial on Faux Shadows, and how even if adding yourself to a stock image, you can recreate the shadows from overhead leaves or other items in the scene. Her and I do this very similar, but we both have our own steps etc, and finished looks we create, but along the same lines, I did a pic using one of the many pictures I took yesterday, and using an older post pic you may remember from a few weeks ago, because the outfit worked in the scene. The shadows of the leaves etc are done after the fact, using the same sorts of steps Whimsy did in her post, so I hope you will give that a whirl too.
So If you are ever stuck for backgrounds, or ideas for them, also we do include the slurls to the locations the pics were taken at, so that may help also. Feel free to use the ones in Second Life Stock Images, and have fun, and also please comment in the pics with a link to what you do with them, would love to see the way people change them etc.

Choose your own adventure – LAQ
Saga Lips
Saga before and after lipgloss layer
Eye MakeUps
Saga with Elle Layer tattoos
Elle with Saga Layer Tattoos
Elle Lip Layer Tattoos
Glam Affair with Saga and Elle Layers
League with Elle and Saga Layers
I have always craved what has hit the grid today, the idea of different possibilities, a “Choose your own adventure” if you will. The concept has come from LAQ and it is the NEW Essential skins Saga and Elle. The skins come not only as stand alone skins, full faces but also the lips and eye make ups are buyable separates. The skins themselves come with tattoo layers , the tattoo’s differ between the two skins, which is a great incentive to buy both and mix and match as that is the whole idea.
You can build your own face, adding the layers from one to another, and so on. The Saga skin for me needed some shape tweaking, which has never happened before, but I am happy with the outcome and it didn’t change me too much at all on my regular skins, so it was minor tweaking. The Saga skins layers include Mouth, Birthmarks, Lipgloss, Eyelids, Eyebrows and Nose, and the Elle comes with Eyebrows, Eyelids, Lipgloss, Mouth and Nose. As you can see in my pics I mixed them all around as much as I could for the shots, I actually could have gone further by combining the lot of them together and so on, but wanted to show you the attributes of each individual part.
Then I went a bit further, because as I said this has been something I have thought about being a thing in the past. What if they worked on other skins too? well they do, and they do incredibly well. So this not only enhances your ability within the skin line itself to be unique, but you can take the pieces to other brands and play around with them. In some cases the tones may not work, but that is the glory of the demo. I took Glam Affair and League and added the pieces to them and WOW, so much fun. The brows also looked great, but I didn’t use those as there was a touch of darker shading above them on the side, and that is totally something I could deal with myself, and especially as hair would cover it up, so I didn’t include it, in case anyone didn’t read and thought it was a flaw.
Even the glosses of the lips on the opposite skins add something really amazing to them, changing them only enough to be really lovely, but without taking away the charm that is intended for the skins mouth and how it was intended. The Elle skin is a very Asian influenced skin, and Saga has more of a Caucasian look to it. Whether you are in the mood for a whole new skin, or just wanting to update the one you are in, seriously go and grab the demos of everything in the new Essential Line, because it is beautiful and the body as usual for LAQ is just divine.

Roasting
As mentioned yesterday Celoe are about to release their Fall 2012 collection, and I promised that I would wear the new Chardonnay slacks without the upper part completely covered up by the Coco top/mini. I still didn’t manage to get them completely shown, so I guess I will just have to wear them again another time, which is fine with me, because I really like the style and cut of these pants a lot.
The darting at the front adds character and the length is perfect for any of the feet in shoes styles with straps that are higher than or sit at the ankle, such as the new Maitreya Gold Suave shown in full yesterday. My other favourite of the collection is the Maru Jacket, which is a shorter version of the Maruca that Whimsy is in the process of taking pictures of right now to show you. The style is classic, as is the whole collection, made up of lovely staple pieces that will be worn over and over again, this jacket has a timeless look to it, and has a very subtle hint of military coats of the English in WW2 and that is even stronger to me at least with the beautiful roast colour which is the brown shown up close.
The coat is wool and heavy looking, such realism is so beautifully produced with these mesh items, now that we don’t have shoulders separating from chests and so on, as we did with sculpts. The bottom half is also full enough to fit over many pant types as well as skirts, so not only does it fit perfectly over the top of the Chardonnay pants, but also the Lolong Trousers – previous Celoe release, the Dade slacks and also the pencil skirts from Maitreya, which most likely means it is going to fit over just about everything.
The lovely soft clutch I am wearing through this post is another one of the great items at this months FaMESHed by Leverocci, the corners have gold or silver options, and the clasp is so realistic their metal detailing is wonderful. The bangles I am wearing are also at FaMESHed and are by Lavallie, which tickles me as a name…I am convinced it comes from My Fair Lady and the song shown HERE .
The bangles actually come as one attachment but I made a copy and added to make the double stack, then tilting the top one just a little bit for a touch of realism. Also the bangles are modify, so they have been tinted by me to be closer to the colours worn…YAY for mod, you have to be careful when doing this though, as you don’t want to lose any baked on texture detailing in the item, it doesn’t always work well. I am looking forward to seeing more mesh accessories from both Lavallie and Leverocci – I am now going to sing that song in my head all day.

Mesh me baby one more time
If you didn’t know already FaMESHed has opened its November session to much praise, not only for the items featured this round, but also the amazing new build and New location. The build is very grand and has an Italian influence, I was not able to grab any pics, but I can see it being somewhere people may like to take some for looks of the day etc.
Almost all of the items in todays post are from this session of FaMESHed, and the cohesiveness between two of the designers for a non themed event was just perfect. The new Cracked Mirror release for FaMESHed is just wonderful, a must have on so many levels. First reason is that the Woolsworth shirt dress with cropped sweater is just beautiful, secondly is because you don’t just get one colour shirt with the sweater type you choose, you get three. The sweater choices are Argyle or solid, I think fatpack should be the choice and I can see many agreeing.
All are textured really well, and the mesh moves niceley and fit great with standard sizing being used. I did notice though with some poses that my wrists from my Slink hands did move through the mesh, but that is nothing to do with either design, that is just mesh through mesh and due to the great way the hands are provided, you just remove the wrists as they are covered by the shirt sleeves anyway.
I did chuckle to myself that if you look at the past two releases from CM at FaMESHed and then this one, you have a total college girl kind of theme thing going on, so far we have had the ‘party girl’ the ‘athlete’ and now the ‘sexy and studious”, even though I am sure it is all in my head, I really like the idea of designers running through a concept like that, that is subtle but fun.
The Oxford shoes by Nyu are also at FaMESHed and they are so cute. Oxfords are always really popular, and with the great heel on these, they are a great look with the Woolsworth dresses. The hair I am wearing are both styles from Exile, the Collide style which is this magnificant updo is at FaMESHed and the other style Catch my Breath is at the mainstore…both such great styles, so demo demo demo.
