FaMESHed and Culture Shock
Two events starting this week. The first has already started in the form of FaMESHed. It started today actually and will run until the 21st of May. Nineteen Designers with Mesh exclusives for the event,so for all you die hard fans of these designers who cannot wait until the 3 weeks is over, run now and get your fix, all items are of course MESH.
The other event, is the annual Culture Shock event. The event starts on the 4th of May, and has 184 stores participating . The event is helping to raise money for Médecins Sans Frontières . This is the second year they are fundraising for this charity and all items with the special vendors at the event will be donating either 50% or 100% of the price during the event, so shop until you drop 🙂 .
I have chosen a few pieces from each event for todays post, the first is the Dade Slacks from Celoe. These are their special colour exclusive for FaMESHed, and I am a huge fan of the pants in general but this colour just makes me mmmm with yummy sounds. The pants are actually a part of a ‘look of the month’ from Mayfair designers, from Celoe and Mon Tissu, so there are shoes and a top also to be grabbed in complimentary colours. I went with the black version of the same shoes, these flats as I said the other day are just delightful to slip on and go about your day, and they added the right touch of balance to the look. The top I am wearing is from Somnia and is one of the items at Culture Shock, a lovely feminine shirt that comes in a variety of colours and contrasting trim.
Another great item from Culture Shock is the bag from Ricielli, this cowhide tote is over-sized and beautiful and comes in a colour perfect for the pants. I can see these totes getting a lot of use in the coming warmer weather months. Another two items from FaMESHed are the gorgeous necklaces I have on, and the beautiful new hair from Exile. Firstly the necklace in Gold are exclusive to the event, and so stunning, if you are a fishy/ocean lover of all things Nautical like me, this will have you swooning. The seahorse is incredibly detailed, I actually have a silver cast pendant almost identical in RL but on a much shorter fob, but this one has not only the long strand but also a combination with pearl and starfish details. Then of course you have the separate strands and so on, everything from Maxi’s is MUST HAVE so just get everything.
The other Must Have is the Hair from Exile, this adorable style is lovely with the loose braids and those banging bangs – lol that was just fun to type – I really like these bangs a lot, I need more of them thank you Kavar :P. Lastly and as the hair frames the face, you will see the NEW Gaby skin from Deetalez.
Gaby as shown in the regular pack has 5 make ups, freckles with regular and dark in normal or extreme – I love all variations, the freckles are WIN! There are also cleavage options, nail covers for wearing with prim nails. There are also bushy brows, different shadow liners in two options as shown in the trio pick. You also get a shape, eyes, alpha for baring your teeth and everything on every layer it can come, such as tattoos or clothing layers, for things such as the nail covers or cleavage.
The Gaby Skin Special – shown in the trio pic – is a special for Culture Shock, and at a great price, with all the added features of the regular pack with one single skin so DEMO DEMO DEMO.

Mixing some old favourites with some incredible new items. Clothing, footwear, and stunning accessories, most of the new items are MESH, and it really is a testament to how enriched our Second Life is becoming with the addition of this to the grid. While speaking of Mesh it is definitely time to mark your calendars with FaMESHed about to start on May 1st. Cracked and Vanity Mirror the team behind the label Cracked Mirror are bringing designers together under the one roof to share their Mesh items with the public.
This event will be monthly, running for three of the four weeks of each month. The idea is that you will be able to get a taste of different creations in the one spot, so that you may come for one or two known to you designers, and stay for all. Much like what is done with the big annual events in Second Life. The first list of Designers participating in this event is definitely a great one, so be sure to visit and grab as many demos as you can, then explore further visiting their main stores and seeing the quality extend even further.
The older items in this post and ageless in my opinion are the beautiful tops from League, I love the colour combinations they allowed for in these colours, and they fit in really well with the slim lines of the Pencil skirts from Maitreya, beautiful mesh figure hugging high waisted skirts. Following the legs downwards you can see the newish shoes from Redgrave. Those familiar with Kalnins shoes will recognise immediately that they are created by him, due to the very specific type hud used to not only tint the feet but also change the colours of the shoes. While I really like the work done on these shoes, I do wish that the choices of colours to choose from where a little more varied, much like other colour packs you can get from other stores. But either way, as i have said before, for some reason the colours that are available from shoe to shoe, always seem to tied in with the overall colour scheme I am doing for that particular post…bloggers fate.
The Jewelry is all new and is from Maxi Gossamer, beautiful Mesh items that are just a must have. First off the oversized rings, they actually come in two sizes, but you can resize them as well, also they have texture change options allowing for silver or gold and a huge range of stone colours. The necklaces I am wearing are all part of just one set, allowing for wearing of individual strands of type, or wearing the combined all at once on only one attachment, these options are definitely what make Maxi Gossamer Jewelry stand out as superb in not only looks but also in quality and quantity.
The last new accessory, is the belt from Izzies. The belt is also Mesh and is fit so beautifully to the hips. There are a great range of colours and also the belt comes with a resize option as it is not rigged, so easier to fit to any shape. I really love wearing it over the pencil skirt, as it just adds a little something something to the look overall.

Second Life allows everyone to dress anyway they like, whether it be casual, fantasy or formal, there are no real limitations on how we can express ourselves with fashion. I once met a man in Second Life – a customer at one of my previous jobs – he was buying a suit from me, and explained that in RL he wore overalls and jeans everyday as he was a builder…but in Second Life he only wore suits, that for him the ability to dress up was his escape from RL and that he always longed for the past where Men and Women would dress up a lot more often.
This Lilani gown by Rebel Hope Designs makes me think of those past decades, its style and details are very stylish and 1930′s inspiring silhouette wise. It definitely makes for a very glamorous look, and with the added sexy factor that Lilani has with the plunged back, and the collared neckline, then draping down very close to the breasts, which reveal at the sides, but still keep that sense of seeing but not seeing illusion.

Riding a Magic Carpet
A reminder to all, about the wonderful events still taking place over the grid. Pose Fair is still going strong, and Wear Gray is on only for a few more days, so make sure you check them both out. Todays poses are actually from Pose Fair, as a returning store released there for the event, and it is good to see them back.
Flowey poses closed for a while, but now they are back, with single poses for the time being, and the ones I am showing are just lovely. So make sure and give them a whirl when you are stopping by the fair.
Released today these New items from Celoe are just gorgeous. There are four new items, but I am only showing two of them in this post. The other two which are dresses, I will leave for another post. The Yasmine pants are soft and luxurious looking, they add a touch of class to an otherwise casual look, and are just beautiful to wear. They are fitted at the top and billowy down the legs, until the tighten again just short of the ankles, so you can wear lots of different types of shoes with them, yay.
The Clara Corset, is a divine leather corset. I decided just like with the pants to show one of the solids one of the prints. Both types have their advantages in the sexy area, the solid has that traditional vamp like look, and the floral has a sexy innocence that is just delightful. As you can see too, the corset fits over the new pants, as well as some old favourites such as the Yoho shorts from LeLutka.
Make sure you try on the demos and fall in love with it all, because it is YUM.

Saucy and Sasy
Wow what a day, it is 3pm for me, and I feel like I got nothing done. A few pictures at least but then I had issues with software and stuff, so lots of fun with that, not. I did get to as I said take a few pictures at least, and I really love how they turned out. I hope you do too.
The lingerie was a recent release from Zaara, and the pieces come with additional layers packed neatly. There are three types of colour ranges to choose from, I am featuring one from the classic range and one from the spring range, but everything in between is also just lovely to wear.

Someones Treasure
Today I went to a sim called Sleepy Bones, it is a sim built by the talented Turnip Sorbet, the builder of Lula and other fabulous builds around Second Life. The sim is not going to remain open at this time, but you really should go by and have a look before it closes tonight. The residential feel is just so perfect, and to end it all they are having a garage sale, and if Whimsy and I left anything 😛 you should grab up the bargains.This cinched shortish length blazer made me think of vintage finds, such as ones you find at opportunity stores and/or garage sales and market stalls. I love that it is just shy of being too small looking, that the colours are lovely, but it is the style and overall look that I love.
The Soho Blazer by Cynful looks wonderful either casual and fun, or more of a dressy look such as the two options shown. The capris are part of the Collabor88/April release by Kyoot, they come in some really beautiful colours, and I love the depth of the Navy. The red and navy combo went really well with some of the bits and pieces I grabbed at the Garage Sale, such as the hat – which I already had in other colours from the Gatcha event they were originally at – and some glasses and a bag, that were all so cute.
The blazer also looked wonderful with the beautiful slimline pencil skirt in mesh from Maitreya. I added the new Flower Belt from Toki Doki it looks so cute together, and I cannot wait to add the belt to other looks as I think it is a must have for sure. The skin I am wearing is from Izzies, and is the new Cristina skin. It comes in a great range of tones and has make up options on the eyes and the lips, so you can make many combinations of looks. The skins have cleavage options as well as comes with the nail base covers of the skin so that your fake nails don’t need tinting undercoats.
The lovely new style of hair is another from Exile, it is mesh and moves really well with the movement of the head and shoulders. I recommend demoing every hair there is in Exile and buying them all lol.

Vote for Renee
Gorgeous Yongho of Juicybomb – or Gogo as many call her – Â contacted me this afternoon to let me know about a very important event taking place. This event is not in Second Life, but is very important to a Second Life Resident, a member of not only our Second Life Community but also the Blogging Community. This is her blog here, and this is the event here.
Now calling it an event may seem a bit odd, but winning this prize of a van that will get her around and make a change to her whole life, seems to me an event and worthy of the title. Renee suffers from Congenital Muscular Dystrophy, and while she seems to manage with an upbeat and incredibly caring attitude to life and her friends, this is a disease that doesn’t just hinder but it hurts, a lot. Renee talks about it somewhat in the article that accompanies the contest info, so please take the few minutes it will take out of your day, and vote, as many times as you can. This is one thing that every Second Life resident can get behind, and it will not cost you anything but a few moments and may just change the life of someone deserving of it.

Oh. Okay. I see. You think this has nothing to do with you
So I was moving pieces around getting ready to set up for a picture, and Whimsy came online, she looked so in keeping with the mood that I asked her to sit and be in my picture.
A lot of the pieces I am wearing and have around me are from Collabor88/April, the beautiful mannequin and armchair are from Trompe Loeil, that store has been releasing some incredible mesh items lately, and for those that want bits and pieces for the home, definitely a great opportunity to get them at a low price. Another great home wares store in the event is LISP, they have released a whole slew of Umbrella’s you can wear, as well as a charming boat umbrella, you will have to see to luxuriate in. Thirdly and not in Collabor88 but awesome, is the urn and artwork are by Whimsy Winx of W.Winx .
The skin and clothing – which is an all in one ensemble – are by Tres Blah. The jumper so reminds me of The Devil Wears Prada, you know the sweater Andy wears that Miranda rips her a new one over about thinking fashion doesn’t matter. You remember the whole Cerulean blue lecture, it was fabulous.
The hair we are wearing are both from Exile, the one I have on is new, and is just a lovely side swept do in mesh. The one Whimsy has on is a stunning shaggy shorter style, and she looks so much like the girl that was in one of the final seasons of Ally McBeal, you know the one that was broken up with the guy that Ally ended up having crazy sex fantasies about. The new bags from Tee*fy – previously only available at The Dressing Room – are just glorious in the multitude of colours available, I really thought this blue and orange mix was perfect with the whole Collabor88 French New Wave palette.
The pose I am using is from aDORKables new set at Pose Fair which opened today, I am sure everyone is going nuts grabbing as many incredible poses and props as they can.

Don’t forget Pose Fair will start tomorrow, and is full of incredible new pose/animation store releases, so be sure to get up early tomorrow and pack a lunch, you will need it.
Mimikri has released new Mesh items, and the Romy pieces are just bliss. They are beautiful to style together, but make perfect separates as well. I really like the open fronted cardigan in the lovely knit and mid length sleeves. It has a lovely tie belt keeping it together, and the belt is a separate attachment, so it is a great piece to have for other items. Underneath it I am wearing the clothing layer lacey Romy bra. The bra is beautiful and comes on undershirt and shirt layers. It is great to have a beautiful quality strapless bra.
The Romy pencil skirt is beautiful, the crochet like knit is stunning. All the mesh items come in Standard Sizing with demos to try before you purchase. I am really looking forward to some more Mesh items from Mimikri, the style throughout the whole brand is chic and elegant, and even the store itself is like stepping into a very upmarket boutique, decadent and refined.

Pose Fair 2012
Pose Fair 2012 is starting on the 15th of April. I got a sneak peak today and took some pics of the booths that were set up already. The build is very minimalist, and you should rez the whole lot very fast. There are two sims, one is more geared towards adult themed poses, but not all are, so make sure you visit both…but a word of warning there are some explicit images, so if you are PG only, then you will need to be aware of that.
The event is a huge undertaking and has been well orchestrated by those involved, there is a wonderful assortment of pose and animation stores, from all over the grid. There are so many incredible packs and single poses, props and photo scenes available to purchase…many stores have gift items or dollarbies…and there was one store that was so cute, there was a pose pack made by their 12y/o son for a homework assignment and he is going to use the money to pay for his own summer-camp. That set is pay as much as you like over 1L and I bought it for 500L because I am a big softy for that kind of thing.
