I have a new friend, and she is beautiful. With the festivities just around the corner, having an Angel beside me is just a wonderful way to spend time. There is an amazing community event going on at the moment, it is called Together for Sway. I do not know her personally, I have only admired her creativity, and giving nature from the sidelines, as many residents I am sure have over the years. The Angel is actually one of her creations that is at the event, and right at the landing point, so make sure you grab yourself some, or gift some to others, they are just adorable.

Sway is not well, and with the help of incredible people who organised this event, she is going to get a wonderful gift to end off the year. People have rallied around to donate 100% of their sales, with items old and new all in one location. The money will go towards the many bills that can pile up when people are not well, and this community spirit is just another of the hundreds of reasons we are lucky to have Second Life.

Whimsy and I have even made an item for the event, and while it is donating, we have it set out at 50% off the price it will be when it goes to the store. This will hopefully entice people to buy it now and help us help Sway. I will put a pic of the Carova Retreat set at the bottom of the post so you can see it. The other two girls in the ad are Bela Tolsen – Tutti Frutti and SySy Chapman, who also have items out at the event.  They were very patient while I was having technical difficulties.

Now before I go into the fashion, I need to talk about the hair. The last post I did I showed one of the new LeLutka hairstyles based on Fairy Tales. This style today is a mix of a new and an older themed style. But this is very important…because the hair has been baked and the textures can vary style to style because of that, this may not work in the colours you wear. In the Jasmine which is the main part of the hair, the Rita, Marilyn and blacks are slightly different, so if those are colours you wear, this wont work for you. I do love them together though, it gives the style even more versatility, and it actually reminds me of Belle when she was just really casual at the Beasts house. It definitely still has that Fairy Tale quality even as a mix. The necklace I have on is a GIFT, this is so cool, because each of the four styles came with their own surprise gifts, and the Jasmine hair came with this necklace, a more intricate one and some earrings, all texture change.

Now onto the clothing. The Jacket I am wearing is the latest from Erratic, and not only do you get the open version which is very sexy, you also get the closed version. The jacket is stunning leather work and with the two options you can transition looks with ease. The draped front is really lovely, but I have to say, that even though not shown, the stitching at the back is divine…and as we all spend so much time looking at our backs, I am glad it is pretty back there.

Another event that is on at the moment is FROST. This event is part of Depraved Nations events, and at least one item per store is 50% off. The skirt I am wearing is from Fanatik, and it is such a cute mini skirt, and their leather skirts are always a good thing. The other fabulous item at Frost, are the NEW league boots Neve. These boots come in 12 glorious colours, and have a great hud that not only lets you change metals in four colours, the fur in five colours but also the heels in two colours. That means with all those changes you have boots for days. The soft leather looks fantastic with the fur cuff, and you really will have fun changing their looks to match your outfit. With all the brown and gold I had going on I wanted to add some colour, and of course Tutti Frutti never fails to add just that.

The leggings are system layered so they fit smoothly under mesh. The vivid colours and prints just add some great flavour to the look, and the highlights and shading are just marvelous. Adding an older henley by Fri.day in the same turquoise blue, and I am good to go.

The other day I used the Bounce This poses in my post, but I did not mention, because it was early, that they were also at Together For Sways. So while you are there check them out, they also come with mirrors and that just gives you more bang for your buck.

I have never had such a serious case of ‘what can go wrong, will go wrong’ in my blogging days, as I did today. It actually started last night, unable to save a picture, I was actually getting popups saying ‘Cannot save image’ which I don’t remember ever seeing in the past. Then relog after relog, and then I was a cloud. After all of that, I just went to sleep. Waking up today I knew at least I was dressed and ready to go, but again, the same cannot save issues. Relog, reinstall and retry, the three new R’s of my life. I decided though after all that to try with the alt I use for The Deck, and it saved…logged back in to main and voila, saved. It goes to show having an empty inventory account on the side is sometimes a benefit.

Then after all of that, I realised that I didn’t have my hands on…how did we ever cope without them I do not know, but ugh. So took new pics and then realised OMG I forgot to put my hands on AGAIN.  But I kept going, because I love this outfit I put together from some way old LeLutka items, and some new and exciting pieces from events. Also to bring attention to the amazing new hair by LeLutka based on Fairy Tales, which is their second foray into this treasure trove of inspiration. The Rapunzel hair is a beautiful long braided style that with the help of mesh and rigging, actually will move as you do…this is one of those things that really makes you so grateful that we have rigging and mesh now. The hair also has a special GIFT, each style in the new release actually came with special gifts, so make sure to look for them in the folders. The gift with Rapunzel is an adorable Chameleon shoulder pet, he has moving eyes and an up or down tail option with 5 great colours to choose from. The other great thing is that you can resize him and rez him in world so you can have little friends all over the place.

At first I was going to go all pretty and girly as the hair just brings out that mood, and then I remembered that I had the Liu skin by Glance that I had not yet blogged. So thinking of Miss Liu lead me to Charlies Angels and that lead me to Spy’s and that lead me to this look. The bolero and hat are older items from LeLutka, but so in keeping with the great wintery looks popping up all over the place. The bolero is definitely a favourite, and I hope that one day this is an inspiration to doing something similar in mesh, we definitely need more stoles, and bolero like looks to put over the top of mesh that won’t interfere with the movement of the main item.

The shirt I am wearing is by Nylon Outfitters, which is featured at this months Collabor88. The tee is beautiful, it is lace and backless, with the back being tied off in a beautiful ribbon tie look. The scalloped bottom is divine, and all in all a must have item that also has bra tops that go under but don’t go as far as the back – me thinks that Nylon spent the time to carefully sew them inside of the tee. Because the top is system layered and comes in great colours, this would also look divine underneath something, such as a corset or gown , something strapless perhaps with a low back to give it a boost, you will have to play around with that idea once you get the tops.

Another item I really liked the back of, as well as the front, is the Cross belt by LaGyo. This is actually their The Dressing Room Fusion item, and it is resizaable, I was going for a hip fit look, but when I resized it and moved it down, it had resized too much front and back, so it doesn’t really work that way too well, not on my shape anyway. But it looks great were it is intended to sit, and there are other metal colours available also.

The boots I am wearing are these very cool ankle boots by Monso. Monso has released them for Collabor88/December, and the great thing about them, is that they are available in Male and Female versions, so no one has to miss out. They are a great style, with great buckle and stitch detailing. They come in an assortment of colours, so be sure to try them for yourself.

Slipped inside of the boots are the great wool leggings from D.Select, part of the Deetalez brand. They have done a huge release of late, with leggings in wools as well as nylon and a good range of wintery themed prints. I am definitely all about the argyle ones, they are very cool also. I took some pics of the various colours and prints you can get, so check those out if you are looking for some wintery woolies.

The skin by Glance comes with brown and black brows, regular and big bust cleavage options (part of the skin) no brows as an option or thin brows…I am wearing the regular brows in my pics. There is also a tattoo layer for no freckles and no freckles shine, which gives a little more highlight to the face. Then the make up packs come with 10 shadows, 10 glossy lips and 10 matte lips options, so the combinations go into the hundreds if my math isn’t broken. I have done a few random eyes/lips to show you. So make sure you go over and DEMO DEMO DEMO, because if you are on the look out for an asian inspired skin, this one is a great place to start.

I was really honored to be asked by Adorkable Peapod to answer some questions for an interview for the blog she shares with TrinityBelle Meriman called Bare SL. I hope you will stop by there and see my answers to her questions. While you visit also read all the wonderful past interviews, some of which you can see the names of in the pic above.

A store that does an incredible array of colours and prints is The Plastik. They also dabble in just about everything, from clothes to skins and accesssories. The accessories being the main focus of todays post, because the jewellery items are truly Must Haves. First though the skin is part of an all in one look, with eyes, ears – elf shaped, and skins with make up and tattoos of freckles. The skin has very strong detailing and an incredible looking stomach, so demo them and see if any of the looks go with yours.

Next we have the clothing, the skirts are the Misfit skirt, which is an a-line skirt with a great look and comes in a huge assortment of prints, from subtle to truly bold. The first top I am wearing is actually sculpted, so no alpha layer or rigging involved, but it fit me so well I didn’t have to edit size wise at all, just had to move it down a bit. The second is the gorgeous Daunting Fate corset, again so many different fabric choices and I went with this awesome Pious look, with crosses of various styles splattered all over it.

The horns are so adorable, probably not the intention, but I love how it is like wearing a fashion sketch. They come with a beaded option as well, and are just so cool to wear. Then comes the incredible Dena’ina Earrings & Collar. These are just amazing. Not only do you get them with silver, gold or black metal rimming, but you also get a base hud for the collar that has 15 amazing textures for the body of the collar. As you can see in the picture the top 15 squares are all the base textures shown. The rest of the pictures are just some of the gemstone texture choices you can purchase, so really no matter what stone setting you go with, you get 45 different necklaces when you change the bases or metals. I will not lie, the second I put it on I took off everything else – and I mean everything, and strutted around our house just loving this collar and incredible earrings.

Not really a perfect match but close enough is the bracelet and ring set that is actually part of the With Love Hunt at the moment by .Shi, so be sure to grab that in your travels. All of the hair worn is by Ploom, and both styles are just fabulous when wanting to keep attention to the right areas of your look.

So almost head to toe in The Plastik today, and if you haven’t been over for a visit of late, then don’t delay because there is so much shopping to do.

New shoes that take me back in time to the 80’s in the best of ways. The Liaison pumps are about to be released at Maitreya in the next few days, (possibly tomorrow) and they come in an abundance of rich colours. On top of the fabulous colour range, they also have four different wear options that make them very versatile from day to night and well into the wee hours.

First off the have the pointed toe pump look down to perfection, with a great steel heel that is nestled inside of the sole. The sole also has four options of colour from the HUD, you have black, red, tan or the default colour of the shoe. Then the shoes via HUD have an option for strap or no strap, and sock or no sock – the sock is more of a legwarmer look, which is so dance fabulous. Then the fourth option is to wear the straps over the socks look, which is just too irresistible to me. There are deep warm colours and vibrant colours that will have to running to them as go to shoes often. The socks option also has a huge choice of colours to choose from, so I took shots with different colours with different shoes, and then some with the straps only and without straps or socks, it was fun, and I always love to show as many options as possible, you never know which one may grab the attention of someone who may have been looking for just that particular colour/combo etc.

I had to revisit some older items with these, and the MAiiKI items are always a fun favourite for looks like this. You may not have been around when this collection launched in SL many moons ago, they still hold their own style wise today and the sets mix up so well with other things. New at this months FaMESHed are the Emma jackets by Baiastice, this jacket has a top included look, which made getting dressed so easy, a great look for the office, and the jacket is just wonderful fit wise over the skirt, I did have to go up a size though to get it over the hips.

Another new item is this divine clutch from Epoque. Epoque and accessories is going to be a very popular match in the next few months, if this bag and the necklace – also worn – are anything to go by. The hair I am wearing and the fabulous bee earrings which I will show again in greater detail, as well as the ring and bracelet are all Bees through the Seasons items. That event is so adorable, so if you have not yet BEEn you should get on over there. The hair I am so excited about, because it is BeetleBones hair, which means that she may do more in the future and more hair is always a big treat for everyone. The bee theme definitely had an influence on my first look.

Skin worn is the Princess skin Renee from the Glam Affair Gatcha machine at The Arcade, another of the really easy to wear always options in the release, so be sure to try your hand at getting this and first date. They are both so pretty.

Marathon DJ Event in Second Life and Real Life Raises Funds for Heifer International

Chicago, IL & The Velvet, Second Life, December 8 & 9, 2012 – What began as a joke 4 years ago has grown into a successful annual fundraiser for Heifer International. A conversation about who had spun the longest set inspired Maht Wuyts of The Velvet, one of Second Life’s® oldest clubs, to attempt a 26.2 hour DJ marathon, called the Mahrathon, a joking reference to his first name.

The first Mahrathon raised around $500 from tips donated by people coming to the club. Last year, for the third Mahrathon, he arranged to DJ at the Star Lounge, a Chicago coffeehouse while spinning at The Velvet, raising funds in both worlds and raised over $1500. This year his goal is $2000.

The Mahrathon starts at 3:48 on Saturday, December 8th and continues until 6:00 PM on Sunday, December 9th. The odd starting time is necessary for the official 26.2 hours that makes this a marathon, or Mahrathon to be precise.

In SL, Wuyts is known for his encyclopedic knowledge of music and his vast collection that he mines for unusual and eclectic sets. Over the last year, he has done a weekly set of music from 1960 to 2012, presenting the best music of each year week after week. Anyone attending the Mahrathon for its entirety would be happy to know there will be no repeats.

With Love Hunt has left the gate strong, followed by FaMESHed and then hot in pursuit we have The Arcade…I know it is way more serious than a horse race, it is Fashion. Sometimes though, and definitely down my end of the planet, the two are in strong partnership with each other, one does not go to the races without looking fabulous.

Another thing about us Aussies, is that we tend to dress exactly like shown in this pic. The other day I was out and about in this look and Gogo thought I was a bit nutty, but then she thinks that pretty much daily I think. But down under we tend to go with warm and snug footwear and very little else at times. Usually though you would see us with Ugg boots, and not these fantastic Mukluks ( the name so reminds me of those things in WOW ) by BOOM for The Arcade. They come in a beautiful range of colours, and it doesn’t matter how many times you go at it, you will love the choices, and you can always give the double colours to your friends, because they will love them too.

Other MUST MUST MUST have items from The Arcade are the Ewing hair by Tableau Vivant. This is their first hair, and OMG I adore the length, the layered cut, and the soft waves that give it an almost dried from the sun appearance. This is again another very familiar look for us. Right now I am trying to find the good things in my head about summer, because seriously at 4am this morning it was 81 degrees and horrible. The skin I have on is also from The Arcade, by Glam Affair. They did a whole slew of new looks on the Renee skin, and this is First Date and so pretty. If you can get your hands on this one, definitely a go to skin for everyday.

The accessories worn on this post are from three stores, the bag is by Sleepy Eddy and is a The Arcade item, the size is a good large, which you can modify to fit your shape. I left it at the default size because I was sitting. The other accessory is the Aviator glasses from Redgrave, these are new mesh items, and have not only the option to sit them up on your head, but also frame options, sizes and lenses, so they are very versatile…and look great on boys and girls. The combination of Aviator shades and these incredible Dog Tags from Mandala was fun…having my top gun moment.

The necklace is really lovely and has incredible detailing. The bracelets and tags are available at FaMESHed. The bracelets come in three options, on both wrists and also have sizes for males or females. I like that a lot about Mandala, that many of their items are unisex and they are always so superbly textured and created.

On the 30th of November the “With love ” hunt is going to begin. This event has been something many look forward to each year, a great group of designers all setting out an item in their store for only 10L. I have seen many of the items that will be available during this hunt event, and they are lovely.

The first item is the ruffle shirt by DCNY. The ruffle shirt actually includes 5 wonderful colours, so this is a definite must have item. A little bird told me that there will be other colour packs available at a later date, so be sure to grab this pack at this great price. It fit perfectly underneath this beautiful mesh dress by Baiastice, also a ‘With Love’ hunt item. The lace overlay look of the texture on this dress, just adds so much to its rich look. Whether worn this way, or on its own, it really is a beautiful dress. The stunning blue, made it so easy to wear with the skin.

The skin is from La Petite Morte, another hunt item. The make up has a bokeh look to it, and I added the eyeliner from Chelle to give the eyes a bit more depth. The make up definitely gives it a winter feel, so a perfect look for the colder months ahead.

Another event about to begin, is The Arcade. This is a Gacha event that was last seen in September/October and was a huge success, this next session will be amazing, and you can see the list of participants HERE . The Arcade will start on the 1st of December, so be sure to visit it often while it is on. The bag I am wearing is from The Secret Store, and is their item for the event…a stunning array of options to get, so pack a lunch and enjoy the event when it starts.

NEW Boots always make me happy. This is my favourite time of the footwear year, because boots are so hot, and these are just gorgeous. The new Snare boots from Celoe have just been released, and they have great detailing and are the perfect height for the fantastic leggings in mesh that I have on from MichaMi.

Because of the name, I went with a rock n roll kind of ambiance for my picture. The earrings and ring are by OverHigh which was a new to me store until the other day. I really like the ring and the earrings , as they are made with a nice tubular styling to them, and you get black and cream versions together in the one pack.

The great sweater top I am wearing is from DCNY. This mesh top has an ample breast shape, and seriously I was starting to get shy in this top standing around looking all fine. It is really great ribbing to the knit and I love the line detailing down the arms and the front. It comes in wonderful colour combinations, and if you wear slink hands, you just need to not wear the wrists for a proper fit.

I mentioned the Bees through the Seasons event in my last post, and it is now underway. The day it opened, Whimsy, Sofia and myself teleported over and spent hours there dancing, and meeting and greeting some new and interesting people. We met a guy called Little, he was hilarious. Whimsy was trying to corrupt him, and he seemed all for it…you have to watch out for that Whimsy Winx. Evion Ember also showed up and danced with us for a while, it was a great time under the large tree amongst all the fabulous bee hives, so be sure to visit.

One of the items that I am wearing from the event is the large bow by Pididdle, there is also an amazing one covered in bees that I wore while dancing, which is a must have. The clothing I am wearing is a mix of The Secret Store, DCNY and a collaboration of The Secret Store and Nyu. The sheer top is is a really beautiful top that has been featured this month at FaMESHed and looks amazing whether with great jeans like the Lean ones from DCNY, or with something a lot dressier.

The dress is also a great look, the shape of it with the beautiful collar detailing makes it a must have. The bell like skirt, and the great colours are more reasons to get this dress. A wonderful collaboration project, I am looking forward to more from these two designers. Worn with both looks is new Jewellery from Cae. This is a brand new store by Caelan Hancroft, and she has been crafting this beautiful Jewellery. What I especially like about the items, is that they look handmade, like in RL handmade, they are uniquely styled and really pretty. There are even metal options with a drop down menu when you click on the items. I also especially like that there are left and right options for the rings and the bracelets which makes getting dressed so much easier.

The hair I am wearing in the pics is the New Effect hair by LeLutka, that has an amazing hair stencil which has been hand-drawn for the hair. This is an on/off option you can use by just clicking on the hair. I love the sleek bob look of the style, and with the stencil it just brings it to a whole new level of fun. The skins I am wearing are from Essences, this is the Maria skin which has 8 make up options, which have some very vivid eye-shadows. I kept the lips bare as the lipsticks were more neon like in some cases, and it was a bit too over the top for the outfits being worn. The eye make-up also has painted on lashes on the upper lids, which just added to the heavyness of my own lashes, so these are definitely more night time looks than everyday wear.

The footwear I am wearing is the recent-ish release from Redgrave. The style has a marvelous cork sole/heel, with the usual mix and match hud features for colour. I showed all the colours the shoes come in, as well as six variations as you can change the texture underneath the foot. These are a great style of shoe, and wearable with just about everything.

As soon as I saw the Ella hair by LeLutka, I knew that I wanted to do something sex kittenish with it. I had a slew of ideas, and then a centerfold idea came to mind. Seeing as it is not that far from the way I have been laying out my pics lately, that seemed a good idea. The bed from Trompe Loeil even though not shown, made a perfect backdrop for the satin sheets look…also perfect was the silver they came in, seeing as I wanted the red on my lips to be the only rich colour in the image.

The hairstyle is divinely sexy, the high backcombed look is something I have always loved, being a big fan of Ann Margaret, Jane Fonda ( as Barbarella) and Priscilla Presley, all women who had great big hair looks in the past, and were such amazing women. Also to note is that there are some amazing highlights in the texturing of this style, which makes the Powder blonde especially platinum looking and so beautiful.

I was going to go with leopard or tiger for my animal print lingerie, but instead reached for the great Zebra print. The deliciosa set has been featured in the past on this blog, but not in this print, so I just had to again because I really like everything about the design and the way it flatters the body. Also what a body to flatter.

This is the NEW about to be released Amberly skin by Glam Affair…not a new body, but still HOT HOT HOT, and the face is even more so. The mouth on this skin is stunning, and the moist gloss effect is outstanding on the lips. There are 12 make up options as well as bare, and there are also freckles and body freckles as well as hair bases. The freckles are a mix of different types and for those looking for the all over redhead kind of look, these are definitely going to hit the spot. It will be out over the next few days, so be sure to try on the DEMOS when it is released, the mouth is just divine.
