So we know I loves me some hat hair, but hair that fits well under hats with minimal effort at all are all win. The new LeLutka hair Decent does just that, with its tucked behind the ears look it was perfect for this wonderful hat that is part of the Platinum Hunt that just started yesterday.

Over 100 stores with various items all over the grid, all you have to do is find the very tiffany’s like little blue box. If you want to find the slurls to the stores you just need to click the link below the poster, and not only will you get slurls but hints as to their locations as well. Or you can join the group and get up to the minute help. All the Platinum Hunt items are marked at an insanely low 10L per, so do not miss out on the incredible effort these designers have put in.

I took pieces from some of the items, so that I could create my own looks, and show the versatility of the pieces. The Indi item does come with the upper portion of the skirt on the top, but the highwaisted skirt in riddle covers that up nicely. I ran off and bought the white polish pack for the curvacious boots, even though I have the all white pair, I just really wanted the black detailing to add, so with the polish option that was easy peasy.

Start hunting, there will be more shown over the next few days, and I am sure you will find some other treasures while visiting the amazing stores.

When I was younger, my Mum always tried to encourage me to not buy junky trend items, but to buy classic staples that would never go out of fashion. Of course being a teen means not listening, but even though I do still have a box full of crappy very plasticy jewelry and other crapolla, I do also have an incredible amount of classic items.

When Thora made Brigitte there was an instant image in my head, and I have to be honest I am not even a 100% sure it comes from Brigitte, but the iconic imagery is still there in my head. The bodysuit, the turtleneck and a sexy pair of seamed pantyhose. The three items shown solo here are backing pieces to any mainshow. Add a belt, slip ons and some slacks and you are good to go, or a skirt and some maryjanes or ballet flats and you could end up dancing until dawn. So many looks stem from these pieces, they should have their own stage. But today they are going to be the backdrop for the amazing hair from LeLutka. It comes in two attachments so that the tail part stays where it should on the body, and the high backcombed portion is just stunning.

I am wearing also the new Hadley skin from LeLutka with some make up add ons such as liner and lipstick from the Gem range. The second of the sister skins for LeLutka hit the grid today. Hadley is a younger sister to the previous Flutter line, her button nose and pouty lips shouldn’t fool you though, she is all stature and focus. Something about the overall Hadley look had me thinking athlete as soon as I saw her.

She has those scandinavian like cheekbones, youthful face and an incredibly dynamic body…yes the same body as Flutter, but there is something about Hadley that, especially when only wearing hair base, is very sporty like. The trick though when creating an athletic looking skin, is to not make her so sporty that she can’t be feminine, and that is where Minnu’s skills come into play, that and a beautiful arangement of make ups, and fuller glossier lips. The lipsticks of Hadley aren’t overly shiny, but creamier than past lipsticks have been, for me that is a big plus.

I also did some playing around with Hadley last week and found that the Gem lipsticks do really well with her face, they don’t all work, but if you have them or other lipsticks on make up layers, give them a go, you can end up with a lovely hybrid Hadley. If you want to see Hadley up close and personal, not only are there demos as usual, but if you join the LeLutka group you will find a beautiful set of all tones skins in a special make up. A great gift from LeLutka.

I was feeling more love for the vintage denim shorts by Royal Blue, these shorts are just fabulous to wear, and open up lots of layering possibilities. I went with some tshirt and tanks from Jane, and the beautiful jewelry from League – Nena does such great work with accessories. I was feeling very brownzilla and it all came up a treat, actually starting with the shorts, then down to shoes and socks. The sculpted socks from Maitreya are such old faithfuls if you don’t have them already you really need to grab them.

At the moment there is a new event running called Collabor88, where all items are from 88L and upwards, but most are at 88. The concept is that designers will changet out the items on the 8th of every month and at some stages they will actually do collaborations with eachother – I am looking forward to seeing that. Breeze is the hair released by Elikatira for the first of these events, and it is a beautiful style, and the price is amazing, so make sure you visit and get this wonderful hair.

It isn’t really the ‘money shot’ because we all know what that really is…and if you don’t it is not my job to tell you. But I did have to come up with something almost as fun as the movie of the past, and these shoes definitely deserved the spotlight. These shoes are the shoes that can help you pay for college, you know the ones you wear during that part time job that is just a means to law school.

When Siddean first showed Mel and I these shoes it was instant, lust! I really want a pair with fish in them. The options are excellent, as you get four pairs in the one colour. Clear soles, Clear Straps and Solids of both. They are totally the perfect working girl shoes, and I love them because they go so wonderfully well with Latex.

Goth1c0 is a brand that has been around for a long time, and its creator disappears every once in a while, but now seems to have some help in the form of other creators. I say yay, more Goth1c0 please. The first two items are from there, and they are fun and sexy, and a tad revealing. So much so that with the first one I had to search pasties in my inventory for some modesty. I really like the pieces to this set, I could see wearing the collar portion with other things easily.

Also showing off the latest two releases of Exile hair, I am so in love with the Valerie, I have been singing that damn song all day. It is great to have so many choices of styles with each release, Exile definitely fulfills the ‘ I don’t want to look like who I am shopping with’ need many friends who shop together need. Even when we do fall for the same do’s and usually when it comes to Exile Whimsy is trying to pull it off my head, she tends to go for the lighter reds, so it all works.

While taking the pics, I was talking in loose text to Mel – he is away at the moment, so thank goodness for phone skype text…and he couldn’t help himself with his handy phone internet access, he bought me a pressie off Marketplace. I am really happy too, because usually Graves is not his first choice when it comes to latex, but I really like it. I think it is because it tends to lead to more the RP aspect of rubbery goodness, than just the shiney side. I love it because I can feel all warrior like and still sexy in it, but this set is a bit different and while there is a lot more layering to it, I went with the bare minimal. Which also shows off the body of the gorgeous Ploom skins I am wearing. Not only do they have a great body, but the make ups and petulant lips are just divine.

It was so much fun pairing it all up with the new Destiny shoes, and then I realised that it was latex and slink combined, and well that just means one thing STRIPPER POLE!

Destiny will be released tomorrow I believe, so make sure you go do all the things you need to do before trying them, like applying to law school or maybe waxing?

Feeling the newness love today. Of course the skin was finally released today, and Flutter by LeLutka is definitely a charmer. It took Whimsy all of 3 seconds to decide it was replacing Gem for her as a default skin for herself. I went with the paler of the NEW tones today, I was kind of feeling a little moody, so it suited my wanting to stomp around mood.

One of my favourite went from one thing to another in SL success stories has to be MichaMi. Milla was one of the most – and still is – incredible bloggers from the very start, she had a way about her that made it sunny all the time. I know I have mentioned it in the past, but one of my fondest fashion show in SL memories was being stuck in the audience with her and Whimsy and some others, during another of those ‘everything that can go wrong will ‘ days SL has every so often.

Whimsy passed around cocktails, we all crashed at least four times each and it was back in the days you ended up under water upside down in the sitting position bugs. All the while Milla was cracking me up trying to steal my inventory, and to this day I still have no clue other than DD being in the show, what was released, if we even ended up seeing newness or what, all I remember is the giggling and fun we had. So then Milla took a break from Second Life and came back a Designer, oooo’s and aaaaaa’s all over the place and she really is a most incredibly talented one. Not only is her style uniquely her own, I swear I could spot a MichaMi item even if I didn’t know it, and had never seen it…there is something about her technique that is hers. The one major stand out is her fabrics, and seam work, where she actually seems to join her fabric together, and the back seamwork on this new dress is va va OMG look at my hot bum. But I am not showing you, you have to buy it and see for yourself lol.

As I said a bit of a mood today, so I added MOOD Jewelry lol the Parade Pearls are still a great big hit with me, I especially love the ring, which I did copy paste and then reattach to the other hand. The great thing about copyable items, and now the multiple attachments is that you can do such things, such as nails and rings together from different stores. I am also wearing the really cool open boots by G*field that they created for Shoe Fair, and somehow I haven’t shown since. They actually come in two parts, so it is possible to even wear the uppers with the other colours, mixing and matching, or possibly even wear them with other shoes if you feel like it.

Really adoring this full length Ploom hair, it is very sexy and I had to show the latest as well which is the Jinx, derived from a style that was last weeks project themeory style, it proved so popular that a regular non jungle themed version was called for. The double pigtails are fluffy and fun, and suited the look created with the NEW about to be released Vintage Denim Shorts by Royal Blue. Marni actually has a few items about to be released tonight, as well as a group gift in the works, so be sure to hit up her subscriber.

These Vintage Denim shorts are so adorable, I especially love the pulled down pockets, they more remind me of really well tailored pants cut off, but either way, denim or fabric, they are neat to wear. Whether with thigh high socks like these ones, or full leggings, its a great look for all weather wear.

New Skins, New Feet, New Swimwear and New Hair, what is not to love.

The new skin is one of three upcoming releases from LeLutka – releasing tomorrow, and I am so excited because not only is Flutter gorgeous and has beautiful make ups, but also a killer sexy body and add ons that are just MUST HAVES. The make ups cover both day and night, which is really good when looking at what kind of skin pack to purchase. The shading and body highlights are the smex, and I just love the dimples in the back. But one thing I am squeeling over lots, is that Minnu has given us Nail Covers, so that those of us that wear prim nails, no longer have to tint on white, WOOT.

While not the first to do this, it still amazes me that we begged for this – see a post Efemira did a thousand years ago, I suggested she do the post because at the time she was the only one of us that wore prim nails. the patience that girl had for nails and modding and everything was incredible – but now they are worn all over, so this is a must, and the skin makers are the ones that have the ability to do it best.

Also great for those wanting to try out the new LeLutka hair bases, there are two included in the pack of skins, you can buy other colours at the store in the hair section, and they will be mod, the ones in the skin pack aren’t.

What better way to show off the new Flutter skins was with the new swimwear by BOOM. I really like that she released not only bikinis but full piece swimwear, very sexy either way, and you can use the aruba tops to form a contrast look with the full piece, or wear them as a top with other clothes, such as I have done with the jeans shorts from Zaara.

Also new are the two hairstyles from Elikatira, falling and charmed. Charmed is a stunning updo, with falling having previously been released as a flf item, this comes with two bang options, so more bang for your buck LITERALLY lol. Little pony tails like this are always a delight, kind of that growing out stage we all remember from being young in the years of the bob being so popular.

Leading down to my feet, as usual I am barefoot, have been all day, but this time with feet. Yes Maitreya has finally released the barefeet options of their feet, in both flat feet as I am wearing and tip toe. They come with the anklets that you have seen previously on the flipflops (thongs) and are really easy to match to your skin using the HUD.

I have been re-texturing The Deck this week, I got half way around and ran out of steam…so if you stop by don’t laugh at me, because it is really exhausting doing store by store, I was grinding my teeth and everything lol.

I have always said you learn something new everyday in Second Life. That is true, and often it is the things we expect are known all over; that are in fact usually the opposite. Example would be todays little Second Life Tier lesson. I have had a sim now – The Deck – for two years, and I will admit that for at least the first year I was an ignorant land owner. Which seeing as I have had my own 512 since 2006 is even worse, but I will let myself off the hook there seeing as I have that tier as part of my premium account perks.

Now it is pretty well known that I have worked for many in Second Life, and most of those people owned their own sims. But I must say learning by example is not always a good thing, especially when dealing with finances from different countries. My bosses of the past were always Americans up to the point of owning my own sim. So for them to ‘cash out’ was a simple process, especially in the days of doing so through Xstreet. But for me for years I had always cashed out from Xstreet to Paypal to Australia Bank to Credit Card. Then once I owned a sim I did the same and they would bill my CC.

If you are doing this too, whichever country you are from STOP RIGHT NOW. I was paying fees and currency exchange fees all over the damn place, but again this was my own ignorance, and my settling to believe that that was the one and only way. It isn’t, and seriously this is no ones fault, it is again just one of those things everything thinks everyone knows.

When you sell your Lindens via your account info on the Second Life main website, the money is converted to a US Dollar amount. Once that occurs STOP. The way linden labs at the time of this announcement lol, is that they go through your USD balance first and if all the money they need is there that is as far as they go. If your balance is lacking part of the money owed, only then do they go to your Credit Card or whatever money paying info you have provided them – this is why it is always a nice thing to pay your rent on time if renting from others, because if the lindens go to credit cards because there isn’t enough money in USD it can really effect the RL of your landlord, but that is another thing altogether.

So don’t be silly like I was for a year, once you have the USD balance all good and full enough to cover your tier leave it there, and if like me you see the linden is giving good money at other times, sell some of your lindens to up your USD balance, the money isn’t going anywhere as either USD or L’s.

 

Ok now on to the fashion. Firstly only two more full days of Hair Sale Yummyness…

That is right, the Ploom Hair Sale will end on Sunday night, and you need to go and grab all you can. Especially the cutsie and fabulous themed do’s like the incredible Telephone hair with such shiny Diet Coke cans. It is always in the middle of the night when you find inspiration for hair such as this, so why not grab it while it is on sale, and save it for one of those fabulous fun nights.

I am always talking in reverse lately. The other night I was at Sn@tch as I mentioned and this vest flew off the wall at me, how is this not being worn by EVERYONE, no seriously EVERYONE MUST HAVE THIS. The style of Suede Vest this is with the fringing and all is so flower power I have so much love for it right now, but went with a darker look.

Mixing the brand spanking new jean shorts from Zaara these are bumtastic. The one thing about jeans shorts is that if you don’t know what you are doing in the crotch area you will end up with all sorts of issues. Zaara is crotch knowledgable – you know one day resumes all over the world are going to be full of Second Life jargon, it will be like those secret societies they do movies on… a tap on the nose a knowing look and HIRED. They will have things like ‘can make a bikini with one pixel front to back’ or ‘ can animate without snapping the torso” or even more funna ” is Slider capable”  so anyway, back to Zaara and her crotch knowledge, these jean shorts come in darks or lights and are really cute with their rolled over edges and beautiful stitching.

I needed a bit more to make the look edgier, so again I went to Erratic and pulled out those fabulous wide fishnets I had shown in the past, underneath they go on the undies layer and voila. Slip them inside some of J’s western boots and I am almost done. The hair is the cutest too, meant to be all girly girl with a name like Kewpie, but with a hidden bit of evil in the skull bow adorning the headband. The headband has its own hud that you can change to many different colours and fabrics, this is another of the wonderful SALE hairstyles at Ploom so don’t miss out on it – there are red tickets showing all the sale hairs. The gloves I have on are some of my all time favourites, but you will have to buy the full outfit to get them, as they are part of a Maiiki set, and the Maiiki items are all full looks.

Now to go to the other side of the girly girl spectrum, my pintsized friend with the gargantuan personality Lexi Morgan – of Stellar – is a lover of frills, I swear if she can work out a way to add a ruffle to it she will, and this is a good thing believe me. The Brynn top I am wearing is all ruffle, or layers, or however you want to describe it, it is a really pretty floral top that cascades down and over the breasts, its almost like a kerchief top, but not. What I did like was the glitch underneath as well lol, I love when designers make their glitch stand alone items – yes and I know I say that everytime someone does, but it deserves praise so nerrrrr.

So while it looks all frilly and girly girl in the pink and the light denim shorts from Zaara, and a too darn sexy pose from Poseur – just thought I would bring your attention to my bottom for a moment lol. I skip on over to the top without the sculpts and add the other new release from Stellar the bermuda jeans, these 3/4 jeans are great for this time of year, even for down here I could rock those out with some boots or whatever. I have to say I was all Miss Pouty Face though because well you should have seen the first belt I wanted to wear *sniffles* remember a long time ago I did some posts with Celestial Studios pants, and played up the fact that she made all her own texture belts to fit exactly to the loops and cut of her own pants. WELL, I wanted to just see, see if I was blessed with some blogger fate, but alas even though the cherry patent belt looked almost passable from the front, and OMG it looked so fantastic as a look, there was a large gap of no belt at the back due to I guess how the belt was meant to go with only a certain style jeans/pants.

So now my lovely Lexi and all you great and wonderful designers out there that do jeans, or other pants with loops…please consider making fun texture belts that are add ons on the jacket layers, or actually all layers, because you could put a pants layer belt over a undies layer pants and then still wear a jacket. Anyway think on it, because it can be so much fun, and really add to a collections possibilities.

The great skins I am wearing through this post are Candy by Gala @ Curio. The face is just lovely, and I really had fun guessing in advance what the make ups would be by their names, tootsie roll was a no brainer lol. In the red pic I am actually wearing the cleavage enhancer, and accidently put on the one that pretty much flattens you out, so if you have always wanted a gala skin but where not exactly a fan of the breast shading, or want something milder, please demo again and check out the cleavage options you can buy seperately, it really does make such a difference.

Ok so my bloggers fate was that while I was typing this, no word of a lie the Telephone song did come up and play on Janga o/ meant to be I tell ya.

I have a little secret pleasure, it happens usually every week, a drop down appears from a certain store and their notice always makes me grin. It doesn’t matter if I like, love or just consider what is for sale that week, it is the creativity that has always gone into both the naming of the notice, as well as the descriptions of the items.

Yes you guessed it, there is nothing like a big notecard full of Sn@tch. Now even though the pics are the other way around, I just was glad that because of the little treat of enjoying my sn@tch weekly, I usually know what I can jump over and grab if I need to. This was exactly the perfect time, what with the make up being just right, the hair being perfect and knowing that I was going to find the exact top I had seen the week before. So the lesson here folks is present yourself to your audience in a way that is both eyecatching and thought provoking, because the sn@tch that grabs you one day, will be one you love forever.

Now back to the right order of things. The Cami top I am wearing is part of the Gatcha Festival happening at the Albero sim, that is one of the best things that happened with saving those sims, was that the traditions the original owners had started continued. I remember my first time at one, it was on two levels then, and I spent bazillions just on the first row, everything was so adorable. Back then it was more about accessories though, things to put in your mouth, your hair, on your shoulder and so on…now it is all sorts of items, including these great Cami tops. Tee*fy is the creator, and the tops come in lovely summery prints and light bright colours.

This one worked perfectly with my look, and the Mo pants from Miel. These pants never date, they are an older Miel item and still superb to wear. It occured to me today actually that this style would probably look fantastic on men too, I would love to see a male blogger do a post in a pair and prove me correct.

One of my favourite things about Hair Fair aside from the hair, the newness, the charity and the launching of new stores lol, is the fact that there are some older stores that very rarely do hair through the year, but really WOW me at Hair Fair. Fashionably Dead is one such store. Every single Hair Fair they impress me with their unique styles and just adorable looks. Remember the saucepan hair of 2009? This year was no different, I had to get their sheepskin lined deerstalker style hat/hair, but also this braided style called Lemonade. Which ended up looking so adorable with the Skull Bowl from Deco. I did have to edit it a bit – the hat not the hair – to fit but it was a simple stretch both sides and voila done.

Now to the inspiration for both looks, the new RedMint skins. The skin as usual is great, very detailed body and OMG the cleavage – believe it or not this is actually the default, there are enhancers , which push them together more so. The skin has a really fit stomach, and everything really works well overall.

The skin comes with also hair base options, light or dark brows, and its own prim nails and teeth. There are also make up add ons you can purchase and they truly are worth it, they look amazing, and the first one is definitely a favourite. Whether playing femme fatale with the netting and a pillbox hat/hair, or going the route I took, the face netting is sexy.

Another make up that was a pure win was the geisha looking one, and I knew immediately what hair to feature it with, and as I mentioned exactly where to go for a top, and funnily enough I knew who I wanted to show on the lower as well. Erratic is a store I keep wanting to show more, but every time the only items I have were in the wrong colours. This time though I wasn’t going to change my mind, and went off in search for what I had already in silver, in black. YAY for them being available in black, because the laser cut pants are really cool. Very low cut and nice detailing on the holes as well as the tights themselves…pretty awesome bottom shading.

Further down from those you will find another set of newness about to be released from Maitreya Gold. The Moxie Summer heels are the feet version of the Moxie released earlier with socks. Everyone loved the with socks style so much, that they begged for a with feet version, and to make them a little different they are being released with three extra heel/soul colours you can get on clicking the menu drop down options. They come in basic or patent and I just adore the snakeskin look on the basics, as well as that mix of black and white for the couture version.

These are sexy wedge heels, and I know one particular Newdolly that will be over the moon seeing these. They will be released tomorrow with the Yaxkin.

I can barely see my screen these days, I have the worst desktop in all of the world. I clean it to near empty and within days it is full again, I have to refresh how icons are shown just to find things I have just uploaded. But now there is a new toy to play with, so I don’t see myself doing anything about my desktop in a hurry. Linden Labs has just launched their own Networking features.

If you like wall talking like facebook and, have a twitter or plurk fixation, this might be right up your next alley. Go to https://my.secondlife.com/ and log in, and you will see a wall of text, so many familiar names as it is straight from your Friends List. That is why I like it so much, because they are people that over the years I have actually had some interaction in world with. Not opposed to meeting new people, but the idea of adding friends because you got points of Karma for it – kind of made me think that it was probably bad karma – nice way to communicate with others all at once, and you can make it visible to all second lifers, or just friends, or even the world. The choices are yours, however in settings notifications for now I suggest unchecking all but notifications by email on your own posts, because so far in only a few hours I have filled two pages of gmail, and capping may be an issue with in world notifications once logged off.

Anyways in search of wild beasts of the Amazon, ok wait a minute, I watched the Pilot for Wonder Woman and while it was okaaaaaay, what struck me as insane was that there was a 5 minute fight scene with her and 20 guys and all through it you saw every single rope and pulley of them being pulled backwards if hit, or her jumping high or across a room, as well as even a door being pulled down a corridor as it was kicked in. WHAT THE? I have watched so much TV in my life and never ever seen such bad effects, maybe one rope by accident and so on, but every single shot for the full time, it was awful. I found out since though that it was dropped by the company doing it, and I am really sad face, because Wonder Woman was an incredible show for me as a kid, and had such potential for a series now.

Ok again back to my post, the YaxKin shoes I am wearing to many die hard Maitreya fans will look familiar. Yes that is because they are in fact the flat version of the ever so popular Ixkin heels released last year. The style is a combination of boho and gladiator style sandals, and the ones I am showing are the duo sets. These are really easy to wear, and will look great no matter what you wear them with. I have been prancing around in them all week, and especially liked them with this old Surf co skirt and new Maitreya shirt. The Yaxkin shoes will be out tomorrow onwards, and look for another very sexy shoe also being released at the same time.

The hair I am wearing is Lohan from LeLutka, and the poses used are made for long hair by Long Awkward Pose. It is really good to have poses on hand for specific needs, especially with all the photography in world that is done for advertising of products, nothing is more distracting from a vendor ad, than when the model has hair coming out her chest trying to sell you a pair of jeans.

I swear every year I do this big rant about how ‘this year’ I will post on my own climate. It is so hard to watch yourself swanning around in barely anything, when it is so cold and wet outside. But alas every year that never happens, and swanning I do.

A few weeks ago I was over at Epic, that store has certainly grown in the last year or so since it joined What’s New SL. I have been watching all the clothing releases of late too, and they are looking really fun. But it was the release of the Faun Tech Boots that really swayed my attention. These are just all sorts of fun to wear, but it is little cool things, that I didn’t even notice until after Mel pointed them out, or I had been wearing them for longer than 5 seconds.

First off they have tiny little TV’s on the fronts and backs playing old cartoons, so cute. Then there is the hud that allows you to change the accent colours, which is great for like neon pink or blues and so on, I stuck with white today. Lastly is the cool little particle source that emits from them, that is like steam or smoke or something very cool indeed.

On an almost recent trip with Newdoll and Whimsy, we went to WWI and I found out through Newdoll, that they had subranded to ?Why it should be Why Not? but oh well. The items I bought were the wrong colours for the look, but thanks to Marketplace I bought the same items as I did then in whites last night, while still able to stay on the VR Studio and watch Whimsy build the most awesome thing – secret for now.

The shorty shorts and tighter than tight shirt are just nice items to have, sexy and cute, but definitely will get extra wear out of them. The Shirt is of course going to get a lot more milage, as it is really well constructed but also just a great shirt style to have.

I am actually using one of the NEW Poses from aDORKable Poses, this set is the SidePony set, and even though my hair isn’t in a ponytail, the pose worked really well at keeping my hair where it needed to be. Also because of their greatness, I had a mirror pose to work with for all as well if needed – love that feature.

Also a huge MUST HAVE this weekend is the Mandala Nails, new nails, new styles with 60 or 70 – depending which hud you choose, I got both -  incredible nail polishes/art to choose from with the HUD, OMG a Mandala HUD we have all been waiting for this piece of YUM.
