It isn’t beans on toast but equally yummy
I saw the release notice and squeeled, then later that night when I was able to off I went dragging Newdoll along with me.While we were there trying on demos, we were nattering away about different things, Hair Fair and upcoming events, such as Shoe Fair. It is an incredible amount of charity work that is done by Second Life residents each year, truly amazing, and yet we never seem to get the press for it ? why is that I wonder? not sensational enough maybe?
Then we tpd back to The Deck, and I gave Newdolly a crash course in Kirstens Viewer, it is a bit less daunting than the regular 2.1 in so much as you are able to get rid of that sidebar if you wish, or only open your inventory as usual. I prefer it because it gives shadows of perfection, due to Kirsten taking the time to develop for ATI cards. The most recent upgrade has also included the amazing new layer options. Which I was meant to go into the other night, and truly forgot to explain that was what I was using to allow me to have two tattoo’s on at the same time, which until 2.1 regular and Kirstens you could not do.
But it doesn’t stop with tattoo’s, you are able to now add up to 5 different options on the same layer. Now it is getting tricky, and you have to unlearn everything you have trained in wearing clothes up until now lol. With the new system it is a return to dressing as we do in RL not SL. Think in terms of layering RL, you cannot put on layers that go under, after the fact. Also there are two dressing options, wear or add. Wear is as usual the one that just replaces what you already have on, with new.
So lets work on an example. You have a shirt you like to wear untucked, that is made on either the jacket layer, or extended using the pants layer. You would love to wear it with your favourite pants but they only come on the pants layer, and you really want to wear a jacket as well. So the way the older viewers work you couldn’t. Now though, you would wear the favourite pants first, then ADD the pants layer extender of the shirt, then the top of the shirt on the shirt layer, and lastly put on a jacket.
I hope that makes sense. Anyway just remember if you want to wear another item of the same layer type use the add option not wear, and do them in the order from inside out.
Now back to the squeeling, the hairbase tattoos and hairknot buns I have on are all from Amacci and my goodness they are fabulous. These do not include the brows, but with over 40 colours to choose from, or like me grab the whole pack – the price is awesome – you will be set for hairbases for life. The buns are elegeant and full, and the hair line is just gorgeous and will go with so many other stores hair textures too
As soon as I put on the white one, I knew what skin I wanted to feature with it, the perfect ivory tone and lighter than light brows in the Hope skin by Tuli. The blue make up too was just perfect to show the first of the lovely Joelle dresses, I knew what kind of style I wanted to wear for the look, and knew just were to go to get it. SySy Designs has such a lovely collection of dresses from casual/dressy daywear like this one, to high voltage evening wear. I think though that for a while at least, the Joelle will be one of my favourite SySy designs.
I continued with other skins by Tuli, just for the range in tones and looks, all complimenting the gorgeous hairbases. I would love if Carina would do a fantasy coloured pack in the bases too, because I really really wanted to see them in other colours lol.
Have an awesome day/night…

Redhead matches my mood
Having fair skin and freckles in Second Life is not an easy task, sure you can find skins with tans and freckles, or fair skin that is porcelain in appearance, but a true red head skin is a rare thing. But like all rare things in SL the more people shout about them they soon appear, talk about using your voice for good not evil.
Glance saw a need for a true redhead skin and this is just lovely, the Louisa skin has that redhead look to it that lets you stay unique to your colouring and yet adapt for whatever dress mode you are in. What I really loved is the fact that the brows match the Passionate Red texture of Fri.days hair so well that it had me excited to look non dyed for a change.
This isn’t my natural colour as such, I am darker but I definitely have this colour running through it thanks to Mum and her irishness…I am not as fair though, I used to tease her when I was little that if I rubbed her arms really hard she might get a tan. What I also love about Louisa is that she was made to be a redhead, not just an option on a skin line, don’t take that wrong I LOVE OPTIONS, I just mean she is a standalone skin, one tone, one brow option and that is it, you have to love her for herself.
The new dress by SySy is perfect for this natural feeling, spring styled and whimsical. You get the two options of skirt and I had to giggle that I look preggers on one of the pics, standing that way thanks to the DelMay poses. I pulled out the old HUB sandals for this pic, the colours and style were perfect…I wish I knew what happened to them as creators, they just seem to have stopped for the longest time.
With the very dramatic make up options that Louisa has I went with a new dress by LP Designs as well showing that kind of retro rocker montage look, I would totally wear this and rock out to billy idol and duran duran lol.
Lastly the Jori skirts and tops, I mixed these up because I can. It is such a great selection of colours in the Jori pieces, and the more you buy the more combos you have. On doing this with the pieces I thought it would be cool if stores did things like that as add ons. I understand it may limit sales in one direction, but imagine if the sash part, which is actually just the top of the skirt, was made in totally different palettes the original and sold separate as a pack, that would be so cool with so many different things, I guess it wouldn’t always work, it would really have to be something that originally does that on its own like these.
Make sure you get on over to 5th & Oxford not only for the Jori pieces but EVERYTHING because at the moment it is all 50% OFF EVERYTHING , I mean wowza, that is skins, clothes, LINGERIE OMG OMG OMG and the gloves that I just loves muchly, run, hurry , go , now , why are you still here?
The new poses from Long Awkward pose are adorable, even if my ankles would be in plaster eventually lol, great for cutesy shots like this, and it is great seeing all the fab poses being used from Pose Fair.
Make sure if you have been looking for a true redhead skin that you go and try the demos at Glance, the body on this skin is beautiful and the make ups have a nice range from soft to dramatic.

Purple on Purpose
NEW Skins make me happy. Especially when they have as many great features as these ones, and definitely when they match a preset on fab shoes; without even making any alterations at all.
First off lets talk about ruffles, you know I love me some ruffle panties, but a ruffle skirt as sexy as this one is just a gift from heaven. It has built in panties option or pantyless which is somewhat dangerous with this short a skirt…but it has that low on one side slung hip look I love.
The first pic is my take on that Parisian dancing look, you know the one where the woman gets spun around all over the floor, and the guy is all menacing and such. It all came together with the beautiful hair, hair rose and neckscarf.
The next pic made me giggle at light red, no seriously I giggled and giggled more. Perfect timing for this blend of beautiful grey and light red – giggles again – the top is part of a romper bodysuit, with the slouchy leggings it comes together as a day out shopping look, or if you can bear sweating in such a look, then perfect for Yoga. The fact that the outfit matched the runners so well was another blessing.
These runners are by 2Real who is a newish designer and very good at the sculpties styling, and has a great eye for colour obviously :).
The hair is the latest from Anaphora and I just love the fit and length of this hair, the style has been designed to have enough at the front to not go into your body as much as that kind of style usually does.
The next four styles are all from Exile in the latest textures, they are improvements on the older ones, and some newness too. The hair is so much fun with it’s untamed curls and smoldering sexyness.
The next two pics are using the same dress in different colours, partially and in full. It is the latest sweetheart dress from Fri.day and the way it has been constructed gives you a full leotard/bodysuit underneath which is wonderful for wearing with something as fun as the hip wrap .
This was when I discovered that the preset darker tan on the Kitties Lair hud matched the skin I am wearing perfectly, when you find that it is just such a time saver and makes you do a little dance of happy.
I just love this skin, it even caused me to wear purple on purpose, just to match the eye shadow on this one. The tweed turtleneck style dress is great for wearing as is, as shown in this pic, or you could mix in some lovely jackets or belts.
Lastly in the clothing I have on another fine set from Indyra’s Originals, this set I bought same time as the others but it got missed out on last time around. I love the pink – light red – blouse with the grey pinstripe, it is a colour combo that never fails. It also compliments more of the gorgeous make ups.
The skin is the Yakira skin by UnBra, a new to me skin maker that has such a gorgeous range of skins and even more beautiful make ups. With each make up in this skin you get a regular and push up bra cleavage option, and believe it or not I am wearing the regular lol. You also get a hair base option, which is dark but stunning and very well covered.
The bodies on these skins are just lovely, and the Redux that I am wearing gives you a different breasts option as well as a shinier sheen to the skin. There are three tones and a huge range of make ups, 14 in this skin to be exact, you will see more of them soon.
Make sure you get over there and check out all the demos, because the fat pack is a bargain and the skins are just gorgeous.

blog – Sexy and Serious
Being able to find a store that caters to all your clothing needs is a great find. Back in the day, there seemed to be a fear of branching out into other genres, and I remember the backlash that came about when one well known designer dared to make something that wasn’t the norm. Her explanation was the real need to be able to change what you make, just so that you can rekindle the passion for it.
So excited today, I got the dropdown I have been waiting for for months, Hair Fair 2010 broke mental soil today…it is going to be a while before anything is sent out or done publicly, but that is the way these things work. I cannot wait to get started, Hair Fair is always such a HUGE event, and I love being part of it every year.
A store that touches on all sorts of clothing needs is SySy Designs, SySy has a real passion for all kinds of looks and it shows in her work. One thing that she does dabble in most is clothing for women with an active social life, the ones that actually go out dancing, on dates and to events throughout the grid. Sexy and alluring, and moving from your sexy cocktail frock to hot disco dress and then weaving in and out of casual to formal, SySy taps into it all.
Because I felt nostalgic for Hair Fair, I went through and grabbed some styles I remembered from the last one. The second style I did edit – Yay mod – I was able to alpha the hair sticks so that they didn’t show as I prefer the lines of the style without, and how delish it is.
Enjoying a spin in the Belleza Alyson skins again, the make ups work really well for all the different styles of clothing, and the pouty lips are just gorgeous.

Nauti
Being surrounded by water full time at The Deck, I find that my love of the nautical look rears up every so often. So even though it is nighttime here and very cold, this look covers that for me, with the added bonus of being a little bit snuggly. Not only do these lovely tanks come with the thick knitted woolen scarves but also with an alternative trim, so whether in the mood for a white edging to your neckline and sleeves, or wanting to stick with the colour inbedded in the tank, it all works.Mixing these designers up was cake, seeing as all three of them go for the all layers options, which makes dressing oh so much easier. Plus I can pretend I actually have three layers of this tank on and feel even snugglier. The thick denim of the skirt really gives it a tight stretch look, and YUM on these legging socky thingys. No seriously I wish I was showing them properly, you see not only are they garter packes, but they are also toeless, so they are the PERFECT dancer legging socky things.
But again it is cold, so I am in the stomping clomping mood today so far, and with these MENS industrial boots I am fully sorted, yes, they are mens, and as far as I know they don’t actually come in womens versions, but who would want womens industrial boots, it is so much more funna wearing mens, and definitely gives the whole look that saturday morning markets day, op shoppy moment.
With a cool wind blowing this hair is a bonus, and again it was actually a male style at Hair Fair, which ends today so don’t delay. I have to point out that as much as I really adore the style of bag I am carrying, and its overall design, the bag doesn’t come with an animation built in, and as it is no mod one can’t be added, but for taking pictures it is fun and worked with the theme.
This time I went with animations from Red Queens Anime AO , maybe I was feeling all sailor moony in my stripes, and yes I am aware there is more to anime than Sailor Moon 😛 but still the close to chest tucked in kind of feel worked with how I am feeling in the chilly air, or sea breeze ;).
