Hair Fair 2015 opened to a crash bang walla walla just less than an hour ago, and it is so busy over there it is wonderful to see the reaction to months of work by the Hair Fair Committee and all of the wonderful participants donatiing a portion of their sales to Wigs for Kids.

I saw this hair and instantly wanted to be Priscilla Presley, and with the help of some Ison, and some Essenz, I did just that. The hair is by Vanity Hair, who is on the Noirette Sim of Hair Fair, and the other great shaggy style is also a Vanity hair release. Wearing some great Blueberry pieces, both looks came together a treat.

I saw these wide legged pants in a blog post the other day, and was so excited to get them that I tpd to an empty parcel. Often the mishap with blogs that only credit, is you cannot tell if something is current or coming soon, unless indicated, so realising that it was 2000+ metres in the sky, I did the GTH Firestorm trick to get up there, and make sure I had the right place. I found the event location and then realised it was not yet open, so with proper pre set up etiquette I DID NOT BUY ANYTHING!   Ashia and I just made note of it all and waited until today when it was.

One of the worst things you can do is buy something when an event is not yet open. For one thing, that shows a lot of disprespect, and you are a bit of a nutcase for camming into a location and pushing through closed doors that obviously show it is not open. There is also the risk of something not being completely set up in the vendors properly, or the pricing being incorrect, and honestly if something is wrong, how are you going to front up to the creator and explain you ignored the closed doors, or the not open yet signs, and bought something anyway? You also run a big risk of ruining things, as some events are limited items, limited numbers, exclusives or special prices, and it can put the creator in a panic if things start selling before the opening dates.

So today I went over first thing, and shopped myself silly, then went back again tonight with Ashia and she shopped herself silly too. The widelegged pants from COCO were worth the wait, as they are perfect 70’s flare inspired jeans. I teamed them up with this delightful floral cut Gizza top, also at the event. I had to adjust my breasts for it as gravity can play a huge part in fitting with some mesh. The way they were I was in fear of Justin Timberlake coming up behind me, so a little tweak and I was well prepared.

Because the top has used texture to give the floral cut out motif along the bottom, it is alpha riddled, so you will need to wear shorter hair, or you will be in danger of having the alpha cut out look. No problem though, I got this great style by Uncle Web also at Sou by Creation.jp event. It frames the face beautifully, and with the help if the new skin by The Skinnery, I was having way too much love for SOU.

I am actually wearing custom brows, but if you like a nice heavy brow this skin will please, it also has freckles or dimples, and of course a no brow option that suited me to a tee. Needing a bit of au naturale to my funky 70’s feel, I went with the stunning Maxi Gossamer pieces from this round of Uber. Everything in the set is beautiful, mixed together, or as separates, it all works. Then on top of that the wonderful Malibu shoes by Essenz. These have a great big bow type look at the top, and though hidden by the flares, still make the whole look feminine top to toes.

I have had a marvelous time the last few days shopping. The most fun was at Summerfest, when finding not only great items to wear, but also an incredible assortment of furniture pieces that were not gatcha items… that was just so wonderful. I love gatcha stuff, it is fun, but it has gotten very depressing that the only way to ever get a set of something you really love, is to play for it, and can cost you a fortune to only end up coming up short. Accessories, little bits and pieces here and there, no problem, but full sets of furniture and homes etc, those things that you want copiable, just do not work the same way with gatchas for me.

I love what Trompe Loeil has done in the past, lamp collections, and I would love someone to do clocks. I do not know how this happened, or when, but I have a thing for big clocks now in SL. I think I am going to blame Junk for that one, their recent clock at The Arcade is just divine. But I was lucky with that one. Anyway, rambling. The stunner of a beach hut is from Trompe Loeil at this months C88, and if you do not have it already, I urge you to go and get it now…I also urge you to run to Trompe Loeil mainstore for their SALE that ends today. You will need to have the full amount to purchase, but 50% is refunded back, make sure the SALE signs are still up though, as I am no sure what time that ends.

The hut is the perfect little size for a weekend away, just enough room for a bed, and some furniture for your clothes, and then the rest is front and back porches. I love it, and when I was in New England years ago, I saw a few such huts and fell in love with them.

I am a Pisces, and that means nautical, and fishy stuff is my bliss, it will of course depend on the quality, but Pilot has that in spades. The cut out wood panels at Summerfest had me at hello, honestly, I would build a whole house with them if I could. I loved adding them to the hut as though they were shutters, and then additional pieces by Cheeky Pea brought it all together.

The perfect location for me to slip into my new cossie by Maitreya, that fits the Lara body like a glove, but even tighter, just how you want your bathing suits to look. It comes with a hud that texture changes the lovely braiding detail for the halterneck and between the plunging neckline, all in all a sophisticated and desirable look for the poolside or beach.

Piling up my gorgeous Exile hair to get it out of the way, and it is the perfect way to spend time in the sun…how do you spend your imaginary summers – it is Winter for me, so I have to pretend 😛

I got a beautiful surprise gift yesterday from SySy Chapman. It was a bracelet, one of those rubber ones, that they use for charity and such, very familiar to people, and definitely something that grabs attention. With it was a notecard…

The main purpose for the character Random Encouragement is just that – to spread random encouragement. The folder you’ve been given is part of a special project that’s been on my heart and that I want to do in memory of a beautiful soul who passed away on May 21st, 2015. This is in memory of Scarlet Chandrayaan. She contributed so much beauty and sweetness to the grid, and I’d like to spread a little more in memory of her.

There are six wristbands in this folder in random colours. When worn, you can click the band to receive an encouraging message. There are multiple messages inside the band.

If you’d like to help me spread some encouragement on the grid, please keep one of the wristbands for yourself, and give away the other 5 to friends, acquaintances…anyone you know who you think could use some cheer.

I was going for an outdoorsy day today, from Mountains to the Ocean, with a little help from C88 and other great items and events. The first pictures are me at Slink West, the build is stupendous, and it is so wonderful to be able to hike in heels. These great boots are all texture change elements, with the wonderful hud that comes with. The shorts are by Tee*Fy and I was excited to see that they include Slink and Maitreya, as well as standard sizes.

The bag is the show stopper for me, it is by sYs and was at the last round of The Chapter 4, if it is still on, then go there, but if not, then run to sYs, they are divine. Equally awesome is the release by Sn@tch of the tee shirt appliers they just announced yesterday. I ran right over to get mine, and love this military look one.

Then to the beach, with the beautiful bikini by Baiastice that is also at C88. This options, the non slim version fit the Slink body perfectly as it was made on that model. I love the frills, and look forward to more items from Baiastice

Some beautiful new pieces from this round of Collabor88, a little more classic than the other items in the event. I actually retook the pics, because I ran over to Modish with Justice, and picked up the new Ivone skin appliers for the Lelutka head. BLACK BROWS so happy. I had taken pics earlier with dark brown, and really felt it let down the stunning hair by Exile that is at this round of The Arcade.

The face of the skin is very glamorous…if it is going to be a skin you will want to wear for a while, make sure you demo the body appliers first. I found a few little things not lining up perfectly to my Slink body, but as I bought it for face only I can let it go, but hopefully it will be something that is fixed and updated in the future. DEMO’ing everything is always the way to go.

The theme for this months Uber is beautiful, and the creators have really stepped up to the plate and hit a home run with it. The beautiful hair, and lovely hanging swing/lounger I am using in this post are both from that event, and so many more items now filling my inventory. I went to visit the Chapter 4 the other night also, and while there I had to grab the latest The Skinnery appliers for the LeLutka heads.

I was not prepared though for how stunning it looks on the Leda head, and was really glad I was playing around with the other heads for different reasons, and threw the applier on so I would match. The skin comes with head appliers only for the LeLutka head, as well as a base skin, if you do not use a body, but seeing as you need to to wear the LeLutka heads, it is a good spare to have when depriming.

The appliers also come with brow options in all The Skinnery colours, as well as freckles. The only con for me is the hairbase, as it is hardcoded in, which it has not been in the past. The hairbase works for some hair, but not all, and it is a little too forward on the forehead for me, so I would have prefered none at all, than one I cannot move…but neither here nor there as it is still a gorgeous skin, you just have to make the decision yourself when trying the DEMO.

Months ago now, we went to an event that had this stunning showgirl set by Mon Cheri. I tried the demo, saw my bottom had ruffles on it and that was the end of that BUY! It is a stunner, and I do hope that Mon Cheri considers creating the panties set with no pearls and such and just a regular panties WITH RUFFLES look, because if they do, I will swan around SL like that all the time. The pearls made it perfect to wear the Mandala set I have on, with the stunning beading and incredible detailing. It is a necklace and earrings set, which is just lovely.

My Attic closes tonight at Midnight SLT, so do not miss out, the dress and hair I am wearing in this post are both My Attic items, and they are gorgeous. The dress is by Nyu and has such a wonderful vintage feel to it, perfect for the theme, spanning the 50’s 80’s and +15’s and beyond. The hair is also spot on, named after one of the main characters in the film Lorraine.

One of the funniest scenes in the first movie ‘Back to the Future’ was set in the bedroom, so it seemed fitting to do so for my last post on the event. The house is the beautiful build by Barnesworth that is at this round of C88, all but one item are all in this round, so you have a week left to get your hands on them. I had to resize the sweets tray by Vagabond, because it was very large for the sidetable, and a little out of my hand size too…but that is the great thing about modify perms, you can do such things with ease.

The chair by Trompe Loiel has a great selection of textures to choose from, you will find it fits your decor as a statement chair very easily. The bed is a beautiful iron piece, and the detailing on the bed head and foot, is lovely…I really admire the intricate work that mesh designers are able to do now, as well as shadow maps and those abilities that just add a touch of nuance to a piece.

Yesterday I featued the Sora skin with the LeLutka head, which is a new option for Sora. Today I am wearing it with my Slink Visage Head instead, and I like how it has such charm on both. The hair, the dress the skin, kind of makes me feel like a young Elizabeth Taylor.

Fell in love with the shoes and the bodysuit on sight at this round of My Attic. Only a day and a half left to get all the goodies for only 95L each and then they go to full price.

The shoes are the divine work of Bushu, and they are must have shoes for serious. They are a highly fashionably uptake on the Gladiator style, ready for clubbing in the vivid colours or very high end witht he others, perfect, for many looks. The bodysuit was a perfect look for the ‘Back to the Future’ theme of the event, it is so amazing the detailing and the strength of the overall look. I was actually wearing it non stop the first few days, then I had to put some clothes on lol.

One of the many many things that are so great about mesh bodies, is that with the correct layers on, clothing layers in this instance, is that the layer is stretched across the breasts, not dipped inbetween like SL default layers. So you actually have fabric ‘worn’ as it would be in RL, and it makes for fantastic shadows and effects.

EDIT: It was brought to my attention in a comment below that the Sora skin is not NEW. I did not say the skin was new, but that the appliers were, and that it made people squeel, I should have said Re-Released, and I apologise if it has caused confusion to anyone…Mochi did redo the skin in many ways for the release, and has made mention that anyone with older versions needs to delete them, and use the current (NEW) what was also new, were the white eyebrows options, which I used for that reason. I am wearing the amazing new skin appliers by Pink Fuel. Mochi re-released Sora the other day to excited squeels of delight. You get everythng in the package, it is amazing, because if you have different bodies, feet, hands, heads and so on, you are completely covered, and the make up options are wonderful. I did however go with the white brows as soon as I saw that option I was excited to wear them, with my ability to make my lashes white, my hairbase and hair white, it was all on. Giving the picture a great futuristic quality was fun with the help of one of William Weavers builds, very primmy this one is, but it is a great thing to have.

Pretty McFly for a White Girl…or something like that. Rocking out all the Back to the Future themed items at this session of My Attic. Channeling my inner Madonna, and doing some skater looks with combinations of different pieces…so much fun to mix and match at this round.

Most of the clothing is HUD controlled, the top and skirt by Somni has hud options for different colours, and I am especially in love with the bronze tones on the metalics top – not shown as I was paler in this skin tone for that kind of look. The Madonna skin appliers for the Lelutka head is awesome, comes with different make up options and a bare face, which is great.

The jacket by Even Flow has so many options of texture changing, you could be there for hours, but such a groovy jacket. It even has a tshirt off option, and if you have been paying attention, I often wear no shirt under jackets, just the way it sort of happens, if you give me the option, it will always depend on the look over all as well. But a great option to have, as it means you can rock out either some other system layers, or appliers in my case.
