Itsy Bitsy Spider
I love that most of the items at My Attic this round looked like they were all one set, but actually broke into wearable pieces in their own right. One such item is the gorgeous Maxi Dress 2 piece sets from Girl Thursday. You can actually see Whimsy with the top of the dress in the same colour HERE. The belt on the skirt and the way it sits, is just perfect for this sensational top from Tulip. Honestly that store kits you out from head to toe, when there a month or so ago, I was lucky to get out without picking up the whole store. The front of the top is just beautiful, but the back is WOWZA!
I also love that the colour matches perfectly with the Toronto heels from Essenz, another of the stunning sets of Slink Add-ons that they have created, and this brown is just lovely. They come in 6 colours the shoes, and if it is your style of shoe, then check out the fatpack pricing.
The Arcade is starting on Sunday, and all of SL is a Twitter, and a Plurk and a Facebook with chatter about it. The hair I am wearing today is the LA version of London to LA by Exile, and both styles are just too perfect as updo’s that can be both casual or glamorous. If you have not seen the shopping list for The Arcade this round you are going to need to start selling things and maybe even cash in a 401K or two ( I don’t really know what a 401K is, but they say it a lot on TV ) The collections are superb, and this time around I am going to be hitting machines harder than I have ever done in the past, because there is just so much want and need and needing to want and wanting to need.
I am super excited about the Nylon Oufitters collection, because I have recently purchased three items from her RL selection on Society6 and they are coming soon to my RL and I cannot wait. One of the items is actually in world with The Arcade items, it is the most awesome artwork, and I am so excited that I will be able to have it in both worlds. If you have not shopped her Society6 store for yourself, then do so for others, because I cannot imagine anyone anywhere not wanting something from this selection as a gift, I chose totebags as my purchases, but there are cushions, art prints, phonecases and so many more options, I think I am going to have to get a clock as well.
Nylon Pinkney on Society6
The skin and Visage appliers for the Slink Visage head I am wearing, are again by YS & YS. This is India, and she is so pretty, I was having a hard time choosing between the selection of new faces for the Visage appliers there, but this tone was perfect for my look, and there are tones from light to dark all the way through. I do wish that YS & YS would do tones of the one face though, because you can get attached to a face and just want to go lighter or darker on seasons.

Warning May contain Mesh
At the moment, with the new and oh so delightful Mesh hitting the grid, there really needs to be more customer awareness happening. Read up on it, there is much on the wiki, check out blogs by people that provide info on the subject…and read information provided by the creators when supplied. Have an up to date viewer for one thing, and especially do not try and express your distaste for it, by using other viewers as the reason. Did you know that legally not one store has to provide customer service to you at all if you use a Third Party Viewer? Linden Labs themselves wont, so it is pretty much the kindness of creators that they have been so willing to do so in the past.
The worst part is that there are thousands out there that WANT to use the latest Mesh viewers and just can’t, so being rude and making big dramatic stances based on your inability to accept change is kind of sucky. My reason for this mini rant, is that I have seen some insane customer comments come up in the past week that have been a bit crazy. They are pure and simply people thinking they know better, and demanding more. I am so grateful I can use a Mesh Viewer, I am also grateful that stores do provide customer service for TPV’s because the LL viewer doesn’t stabilise for me right now. Yes it is going to be awful if not using one to see people running around with big blocks on instead of perfectly shaped creations. But I also remember when Sculpts came it was big spheres unrezzing for thousands too. I remember not being able to look at girls wearing sculpted hair because it looked like their brains were seeping out their eye sockets.
I still for the life of me cannot understand peoples dislike for V2 which is now V3. Yes it is different, a few buttons look different, but it is mostly the same, and nearly all the viewer creators have made such headway in trying to make it as similar to the old as they can. About the only thing that is still for many a major hassle is how notices come, and how items and IMs are shown. But that is more to do with retraining yourself to look down to the right not up to the right than anything else. You also need to train yourself to look down there more often…it is not so obvious when you get an IM, but it does still make a noise and there is an icon there with a balloon on it if there is an unread IM. Anyway, try it for more than five minutes…nearly everyone I ever hear that says they wont, has never used it since it was released, and/or wont give it more than five minutes. The benefits to your SL far outweigh the negatives, and if you CAN use it,  then you kind of owe it to those that can’t to stop being sucky lol.
Now about these boots. Yes they are the NEW MESH boots from LeLutka, and they are magnificent. For one thing, the detailing is fantastic, and all the added features make them such an incredible bargain. Not only do you get the boot in whichever colour or colours you choose, but also the HUD that allows for changes to the laces, rivets and soles. With some of the colours the change in accents is incredible. The boots are three prims, they are not rigged to the skeleton so they can be resized using the HUD also. It is only rigged items in Mesh that are unable to be resized, because they are technically locked to the joints. So the work that is able to be achieved on them is awesome, and in many cases you are going to see work you wouldn’t have ever seen if we only had sculpts, because the creator either wouldn’t do that kind of intense detailing, or it just was not within the realms of prim limits etc. Also texturing on Mesh is so much easier than Sculpts so the newness is going to keep on getting even better.
The Ren boots have a mix of looks. First off I looked at them as Victorian riding boots, then they had a real combat kind of thing going on – I LOVE THE OLIVE – all in all they are so versatile to wear. First off I had to go with that first thought, the Victorian look, so I pulled apart a gown from LeLutka – I rezzed the skirt then in edit mode I checked Edit Linked Parts and clicked all the pieces at the front. Once they were all selected I went to build menu and unlinked. Then once unlinked I selected them again and deleted. Taking the skirt back I wear it and voila a short fronted gown. The bolero is from Verve which is previously Swansong, so any type of shrug/bolero could look very cool. Then to finish it all off I wore the collar that you didn’t get a proper look at the other day from Royal Blue.
The second look combines one of the very cool Zaara denim skirts, with the linen shirt from COCO, this shirt comes in other colours, but I loved the white and very crinkly look of it. The combat look didn’t get as military as I would have liked, but combining the RB Tank from Maitreya and the delish leather cap with the SoHo shorts and Ren boots was enough for me to want to stay that way for the day.
I am wearing the NEW Curio skin Jewel. Looks like Curio has added new tones to her selection. I am wearing the honey tone, which comes in the gold tones collection. The other tones are rose tones, so make sure you try all the new tones available. The make ups as usual are just beautiful and as usual come in the two of each make up choice we are used to.

East meets West
I love technology, the internet, computers etc. You know when I first bought a PC, I had no idea what to do with it, or how vast the internet was. It ended up being used for emails and playing Age of Empires and the Sims for years. Seriously my trying to use the web, failed every time, because I didn’t know what to do, or what to look for.
Now I can watch my favourite T.V shows, do a blog post, be inworld and a dozen other things all at once. All my computer knowledge comes from online, from the people I have met along the way, everything I do now has been shown to me, or motivated me to learn along the way, I think that is the best gift the internet can give us…not so much the links to sites or whatever, but the connections to people that we learn from along the way. One of the most amazing resources out there are the tutorials done by other people like you and I, everyday people wanting to share their knowledge of things. YouTube is full of them, and they amaze me sometimes, especially the Second Life ones.
So if you ever think you know how to do something that either comes up as a query often, or you just want to share how you specifically do something, I urge you to do a tutorial on it, so many bloggers myself included have done one or more in the past, and it can totally change how you look at something. So go for it :).
A few weeks ago Zaara had the Deesha Cropped shirt in FLF, and it was a huge hit, so much so that there are now other colours in the range, and so cute too. I love the whole ‘little bit country’ look of the style, mixed with a more indian textiles and traditional collar look, it is like east meets west and I am all for it.
I am wearing it a few different ways today, but however you choose it will all work. The hair I am wearing is from Elikatira, her new styles for the week and so pretty. I am all for her building on her shorter styles, she does long and medium so well, but always seems to blow me away with her shorter styles, not a fan of short hair at all in RL, it was actually styles like her older pixie – etd days – that converted me into trying shorter styles in SL and embracing them to my hair addiction long ago lol.

Under the Sea
I issued a Plurk Sunday challenge today, but it doesn’t have to stay confined to plurk. The challenge is that everyone comments on ten blogs, they can be store blogs or fashion blogs, just share a positive thought and spread some joy, as it is always nice to get feedback, and with the many thousands of readers out there, it always amazes me how rare it is to see comments, even if it is just ‘ I love those _____ I am off to shop ‘.
The post today all four looks started with the divine hair from Exile. Kavar Cleanslate is so amazing at offering such a wide range of styles with his hair releases…and these latest ones are just divine, another hat/hair for me to love love love. The first look because of the length and style of the hair under the super cloche hat style, was not so vintage but more modern, which makes for a nice saturday morning brisk weather look, while heading to the local cafe for some breakfast.
The second look is a lot more va va voom, mixing Cynful and Zaara is done twice today, the first with this look has the beertilicious dress with the beautiful distressed shrug. This fluffed out hair is the perfect length to show off how incredible the texture work done by Zaara is. The third hairstyle was very student like, so I went preppy college girl…I know in reality that no college students around here dress like this, but in my mixed reality they do. The skirt was a flf item, but am pretty sure it comes in other colours. The jacket is from the Jane store, which is a new store for creator Janie Marlowe of older Mischief fame…really cute store, and the tank I have on is actually part of a free tank table she has.
The dress on the right is the latest from Zaara, this comes two ways, wrapped with bare skin revealed, or with an underlining colour. For some reason SL ate my underlining version, and while I could have shown the bare, I wanted to experiment with the idea that find the right dress, you can make your own inserts in your own colour choices. Sure enough the Beertilicious from Cynful fit like a dream, and so I wore the light tan colour, which matches the colour of floral print in the crimson dress…YAY.
All of these looks are also showing the latest boots from YS & YS, the creators behind the brand recently took a much needed break and are back and making stuff already. These boots are beautiful, and have a sculpted sock that can be worn with in contrast or not worn at all…there are two tone, and solid versions, in a variety of beautiful colours.
I am also wearing the Amber skin by League, stunning make ups, so many incredible options, cleavage, hair base, freckles. WIth two different packs of make up colours to choose from in wonderful rich tones. Try the demos and I will show more in my next post.

Rooti Tooti Fresh and Frooti
In many of my posts, especially my early on ones, everything started with the hair. I love Second Life hair, I think that even though I started just after flexi was created, it has always been my favourite item of all things. The styles, the colours, the techniques, how they have changed over the years, what was popular once faded out, and then can turn around and become ever so popular again. The sculpties put us back into static hair mode, and when flexi mesh sculpts come about, the whole world will change again. Lucky for us Elikapeka Tiramisu is back, and back in a huge way.
Elikatira her new brand opened it’s doors quietly on the weekend, no fanfare or fuss, it was not needed, because as soon as the wind carried the message that she was open they came in droves. Many will remember the old between builds times with ETD, sitting on the side sims waiting for her to open, trying to cam in and get a sneak peak. I remember one such event that actually included free only for group members, two packs of unreleased hairstyles. To have these was to really feel something special. I even know a girl that will say she met me over a gift box at ETD, but in this case it was a misunderstanding I helped her with.
There are fewer and fewer stores around now that you can have such memories of, I have a few ETD ones, and now am so excited to have the chance to make new Elikatira ones. The new opening brought with it ten new styles, and one of those is a store gift, called Sey – nto yet shown. The ones I am showing today, range from casual to dressy, and all can interchange in that regard, but pointing out the second one which is Escape, as soon as I put it on I ran to google and looked up Sharon Stone Basic Instinct, and sure enough the hair is almost exact. True perfection for shorter hair lovers, with a definite attitude going on.
While I couldn’t at the time find the white turtleneck and coat, I took it to now, and mixed some Aoharu, Deetalez and Nyte n day. The Aoharu poncho coat though advertised as White, has a greyishness to it, so lucky for me the white knitted skirt from Deetalez that is gorgeous, was mod, and I was able to bring it to the same tone. A little revealing cropped sweater from Nyte n Day and to finish off the stunning fringe western boots from Anexx. I adore this look, and the hair, wowza. Back to the top though, I am wearing the new coat from Baiastice, this is a very nice cut coat, with shoulderpads, and adornments of gold.
Very stylish and worn with either pants or in this case the Calypso slip from Eclectic Apparel – the go to of the season – you can look amazing for any situation. I really like the somewhat messyness of the Away updo, it has a real lived in look, as does all the Elikatira hair so far, not too immaculate, because that ends up looking way too fake, this one looks like I have worn it all day, and with the removal of some pins and some finger tousling I would be HOT. My first hair in SL was pigtails, and I don’t care that I am 38 I will wear them in SL and I would damn well still wear them in RL, maybe not like the first ones, but definitely similar to these. Wearing with one of my favourite sweaters from Eclectic Apparel, I had all that skin to show off, that I added the lovely necklace from Exodi. Some gorgeous slim fit jeans from Deetalez – I love these and they are not too low slung, so they are wearable by all.
With that and the next pic I am wearing the Prima sandals by Kalnins, usually a multitude of colours, but in both cases the all white options worked well. The next outfit is how I end the day, because it is too perfect to not want to stay dressed in and pretend it is a lazy saturday. The clothing is from Zaara, and these boho style prints and pieces are just perfect for the upcoming heat I am expecting down here. The fabric choices, the colour combinations all work in these pretty styles…adding some older Jewelry also by Zaara and the loose tied plait down the back in the form of Melody, I am totally loving the look.
You may notice I am wearing two different skins this post, the Phoebe 2 and Claudia 2 by LAQ, the up close pics are Phoebe 2 I will do Claudia 2 another day, but it is so amazing to see the difference in both, Claudia being like an older sister to Phoebe. Claudia 2 still have a lot of attitude while Phoebe 2 is still somewhat innocent. Try them both out, and they both come with hair base options, and there are a lovely amount of add ons you can purchase at the store now, including the recent addition of different sized cleavage options, and hair base/brow colours.
All the poses used in this post are from Frooti, a new store and not so new resident. Willow Zander has opened up her pose store at Elikatira sim, as you can see from the layout pic. I am so glad to see Willow having her own store, as many of you will know she has been the Manager behind Celestial Studios, and now Elikatira and of course a fabulous blogger. If you have been by the sim, you will have noticed there are stores that are empty, you can apply to rent at Elikatira, which is kind of awesome, giving everyone a chance from the start, rather than opening with a sim full. Sand Shack Surf is there already too, the store Emma built looks fabulous. Click HERE to SLURL’s Page. Picture :

I’m in Chains
I am not sure how many hours until, but it is today. All of the fashion shows rehearsals have been filmed and all sorts of things are happening with Call for Couture, so keep your eyes on the blog for more info. Jewelry fair is in full throttle mode, and I heard that 10.10.10 starts today, which makes sense seeing as it is the tenth of the tenth in the 10th year. My understanding of that event is that you will be shopping a lot, and have the chance to get some great deals. What I do like, is that you will be shopping for other peoples items at other peoples locations, I once mentioned to an organiser of on of the weekly events that that would be a great way to get brand awareness for smaller stores. Anywho, on with the post.
Zaara has told me that this is her first short dress in three years, on thinking about it, I cannot remember ever having seen a short one from her, not this short anyway. It is the one on the left – like I needed to actually say that – the fabric is divine, and the use of chain like texture to add some oomph is just great, a fantastic clubbing dress, and uber sexy. Because of the neckline jewelry was a little more complicated, but I remembered the fun nails I picked up at Jewelry fair from U+R Dogs.
I have many sets of nails, but I don’t think I had any in multicolours, and these are fun and inexpensive, so I couldn’t resist. The new Maitreya Gold shoes FOXY that will be released at Call for Couture are as Onyx put it, the little sister of Shanti, which I myself think is great, I know how much people love Shanti, so to have an even sexier version is all win. They remind me of the movie In her Shoes, so if Shanti are Toni these are definitely Cameron.
The fat packs of Maitreya Gold are 50% less than buying one at a time, ok so here is why you will need to consider the fat packs straight away lol, they are texture change upper and lower. So that means with the all in one pair you get in every fat pack, you have many options for two tone or one wear. The singles are different having a base colour and then a few options to change one part, which is still wicked and gives you more than one shoe for your money. Either way they are the smex.
Just like the lips on the Clave skin by Mons, another Call for Couture item, this skin has adorable lips, and a great overall look. This is Mons pret a porter item at the fair, so make sure you try the demo’s. Adding a little bit more pink with my hair from Exile, both styles are today, but I wanted a similar pink to the lips so tinted the candy version of this cute as pigtails hair. Kavar the sexy male hair designer has his finger on the pulse when it comes to girly hair…and both these rock it.
Since starting WoW I actually know what Ganked means now, which is funny because when Whimsy screams in my ear about some crazy ‘several cusswords’ horde person ganking her, all I keep thinking is how did she get so lucky lol. The necklace I am wearing in the right pic is from of course Ganked, I don’t just ramble about things for no reason – ok sometimes I do, but this time it was a segway . Beautiful Cameo style necklace, with an elongated drop, because of which I did not wear the upper prim portion of the Simple Black Dress from Muism, believe me it is shaped beautifully, but because they did finish it off well, I was able to wear without. The dress is actually really cute split up into skirt and shorter top too.
Leaving you with these goodies for now *dives back into her folders*
