    Tracking

    Sasy Scarborough - Blossoming

Did you know! that the latest Firestorm Viewer has a Money Tracker…it is part of the Avatar menu, down the bottom, second last section, and it keeps track of all funds you spend in a log in session. Even with the micro purchasing that many do over the weekends that stuff can add up fast, so if you are trying to stick to a budget this is a great way to do so, make sure you check mark the keep track while closed feature, that way if you forget to open it, it will still keep track for you.

I glanced at it last night while attending the Fifty Linden Friday (FLF) 17th Birthday bash, and no surprise it hit a large number by the end and rightly so, the items available are great, and while nothing I am showing today is from that, I did not want anyone to miss out on attending. Every booth there has a gift, and every item sold in single form or packs depending on the items are 50L a pop (not including some booths fatpacks but definitely reduced). I took a whirl through, easy to navigate, I just keep the stores on my left and keep going until I reach the start and then cross the road or in this case go upstairs and do it again in both directions. I actually spent the first section reclining on one of the pool side lounges, just because I could and it felt so fun to do so. The build is fantastic, I wanted to move in. It is very busy over there, but I went in the dead of night, yay timezones, for me it was late afternoon. If you have a premium account though, do not be concerned you should get priority TP’s, so just keep trying, or wait a few days.

I took todays look photos before I went, so the other things I got will happen in the future. Saudade is making items more frequently again, I am glad, when he creates it makes me happy, because he has been in and out of Second Life for a long time now, and watching that skillset grow over the years has been awesome. He is getting back into making hair, which is pretty much his roots (pun pun) in Second Life, and this hairstyle I read today was inspired by a friend, released and now re-released with better skills, better textures but with the same homage to his friend Kiara…still waiting on those Sasy Pants. Seriously have you seen his male linen pants, I love them so much, I keep asking him to make them for girls, I also love these rings that I got from there recently, giving you the option to hide or show the various options, they are just fun and quirky.

Speaking of for girls, this top by Fashionably Dead is so leaning in on my girly girlness and hard. I love the side bows, love the empire line of the bodice and, just adore that it has that older times styling with a modern twist, because it makes it wearable in so many ways. That paired up with the stunningly textured mini skirt from Boys to the Bone is just a delightful lunch with the girls look, in my opinion. I really liked pairing them up with these wedge heels by Breathe, they remind me of espadrilles, but with a more stylish less beachy vibe, but if you are lunching in a nice cafe by the beach, then all is fabulous.

    Profesh

    Sasy Scarborough - Profesh

Today started early. I was up at 3:30 am and bouncing over to the Linden meeting for Trust and Safety. It was a great meeting, and you can see it HERE thanks to the awesome Pantera. Melody Linden did a fantastic job of running it, there were so many Lindens in attendance and a great group of residents present.

After that, we had a meeting for the Mentors – Super Secret Mentor Moments. It is so good that the supervision we get with Viola extends to Izzy Linden as well. That back and forth is crucial to making sure we are all on the same page when it comes to helping new residents find their way. I think some people believe that the Mentors just run wild with no training or support, but that is definitely not the case. At the second meeting, I got to play stenographer for those who did not have voice turned on. It was a big responsibility typing on behalf of Viola and Izzy for anyone who could not hear them. Even 20 years in, I still amaze myself at how fast I type now, especially compared to when I started out typing with two fingers and staring at the keyboard the whole time.

That helped with the theme of todays’ look, don’t I look all business like, in a punked out way. We have been having fun chats about Professional looking outfits lately in our after meeting meetings, seriously, we often end up talking for 3 – 5 hours after the Lindens go back to work, it is such a fun way to interact with other residents. It actually started out as a subject with this very top, and a whole whirlwind of topics transpired from that. Eris, who is also a Mentor and a meetings attender is so much fun, she spent the rest of the five hours trying on different looks and asking me if she was ‘Professional’ Looking…I was having a great time coming up with made up professions she could be in that warranted that wardrobe. Right now for instance, I look like I might do the books for some kind of Tattoo Parlour slash Cafe that roasts their own beans and for an additional 89.95 with tax will tattoo the look of your coffee creme on your body – stops to laugh at the thought of it. Eris actually has her own blog now, and she has a post HERE where you can see us as a meetings mob attending one of the exhibits that Erik did for SLB, it was a great road-trip together as a pack. We are certainly a photogenic group of awesome in my opinion.

The top I have on is from Orphic, it is part of a set, there are some shorts that go with it, but they are a bit shorter shorts, and was not the look I wanted, they are very playful sportier looking. I love what Orphic puts out, they have a really great aesthetic, it is like they looked at corporate fashion and how it has changed over the last decade, in a great way, and then said ‘ I can do better ‘  while not everything is businessy looking, or even has that visual element, it just lives there – this is all making sense in my head, so just believe me. Even when they are not going that route, even if a relaxed chill vibe is happening, it still feels tailored, planned to perfection with a strong story. I like the ‘today I am going to make a choo choo train’ vibe of it too, that creator that just says hey, I am going to create this thing that I am really feeling today, and it can be so different than anything they usually make, or so the opposite direction of the style path you thought they were on…GOTCHA! So even when it is not something that I would necessarily put on, I can appreciate the skill of it, or the intention of it and I really like stores like that. The top gives me that businessy look, that Profeshness that I want, but it has booty shorts with it, and that is just fun. The shirt stays the one colour but there are multiple knits for the sweater and it is a great set.

The other store that leans into that same feeling as Orphic is Technofolk. Often having me nodding and feeling on board, and loving the masculinity of the aesthetic, but still feeling really girly wearing it all. These punked out long shorts or short longs if you will are so great, they say cargo shorts can be cool…seeeeeeeeeee. This ensemble also had me able to use one of those purchases you make when you know you don’t need it, but you also know that at some point in your Second Life you are going to wish you had it, and so that brings out the cute laptop that opens and closes as you type when talking in local, it is very cool and the close up pic shows the animation that plays to close it, and it is really mild and natural, I really liked that. You can also customise it with the HUD that comes with, but it is also MOD and so I just threw an old snapshot of PS open on my computer, so it looks like I am working on my pics while in world, FUN!

Like I said, Profesh and Girly…the bows took over today, and while I am not normally a bows person by choice, this was a choice when I saw the hair from Navy & Copper after seeing the shoes from Breathe. What a pairing they are, the bows go down the back of the ponytail and they are hide show, so if you are not in the bow mood you can just turn them off via the styling HUD. You also have the ability to change their colour and tint them if you need more of a matchy match situation. I love a nice high ponytail, it is that ‘I mean business’ kind of style that is sometimes just how you want to start out your day. Then we have these fun espadrille style chunky sole shoes by Breathe. All the parts are controlled via the HUD and I liked that the bows/ribbon laces were able to contrast with the main shoe so that I could finish out my black and white theme. They also look so bouncy to walk around with, and you know these tattoo/cafes and their run all over the place business needs, you want to make sure your footwear can sustain it, but you can rest assured I am safety first, and I am not going behind the counter where hot beverages could spill on my bare toes, also ewww at bare toes being in a food prepping area at all. I am the office staff only. Had enough of my imaginary new career? good, scroll to the credits…

Hair Fair 2026 – Analog Dog – I AM TOPANGA

Analog Dog @ Hair Fair 2026

I put this hair on at Hair Fair 2026 and started bouncing in my seat…I AM TOPANGA! and honestly I want to, and don’t want to tell you what that means. If you know you know, and if you do not know, you really should, and no one wants me to start lecturing you on your T.V watching habits, because someone may start lecturing me on mine. Let me just say that as soon as I found it was something I could see all seasons of on a streaming service, I clicked SUBSCRIBE so fast, then binged the whole thing in as long as it takes to only do that.

It makes sense to me that Analog Dog would create Topanga hair, it is just so perfect, the thick heaviness of the hair that cannot be tamed, and if you try you wish you hadn’t, because it is just gorgeous and heavy and beautiful. Last year Analog Dog hair was life changing too, the advertised colour was a mix with purple, and that does not go down with me usually, but I was in awe of how gorgeous the demo looked in that colour, that I bought it and wore the purple pink mix for a week. This year again I went with the mix pack, because the fade looks are just divine, and you also get some great solids in there. This comes in the left and right and both sides option with the hud, so I showed both the one siders.

I knew I had to lean in with the look, and this bandana top is a favourite of mine, in the prints and the solids, it is actually a gift in the Fashionably Dead Mainstore, and it is stunning, with these newer shorts, that have options to change the cords, the frills and the denim etc, so much versatility it all came together as a look perfectly.

Then you add in these bow sneakers by Breathe, that allow for a lot of customisation as well, and you have such a great combination of colours. I could wear this look for weeks and be blissed out every time I log in.

Hair Fair is open until June 14th and ALL purchases made at the event donate to Wigs for Kids, Exclusives and previous releases. Not all stores have previous releases out, but so many do, so it gives you a real taste of what the stores have created over time, and some things you may have missed that donate with each purchase, a great way to get it all in at once.

    Hair Fair 2026 – Wasabi

    Wasabi @ Hair Fair 2026

It is often that I find myself wearing Wasabi in blues…I am not sure why, but she just makes hair that looks fabulous in dye pack colours. I was very into the scarf hair look in the 90’s I wore my hair like that often, so this style just makes me blissfully happy. The only opinion I have on this is that I want more options of textures for the scarf and I want a whole range of solid colours, but the prints are so on point, it was the scarf that created the whole look. The style has the option of with or without scarf which is very generous of Wasabi to do, as that is a whole other hairstyle you get included. Then you have the falling front on one side option or the face showing option, I liked both so I used both in my picture, as that is just how that would work if I was standing around outside posing for pics.

This dress by Fashionably dead comes in a long variation also, but the short was just perfect for this day strolling look I was going for, however I cannot lie, the fact that the bottom is lace and comes with mesh underwear is a tad out of my normal comfort zone, I was struggling to remove my BOM underwear…at this point it was pretty much fused with my body. But the outfit is so adorable, I just know though that leggings in BOM layers is how I would more likely wear it out, but with the blue hair I was feeling adventurous – GO ME!

The dress and scarf hair had such a country girl in the city feeling for me, so the heels that think they are cowboy boots that think they are stilettos were just a no brainer. How cute are they, it is funny, because when you see hybrid footwear like this in RL magazines or pinterest etc, you may tend to scrunch up your face and think those people are nuts, but put them in Second Life and we are all in, and rightly so.

    Hair Fair 2026 – Navy & Copper

    Navy & Copper @ Hair Fair 2026

So this is my first blog post with pictures and writing in a year…I thought I was going to forget how to do it, but apparently not. I came prepared though, made sure that I took as many pics as possible with items from this years Hair Fair before a post, but then decided to do a singular pic per post, so that I can space it out a little bit. It is nice to be back blogging though.

This first Hair Fair featured item is Dream by Navy & Copper. I love the rocker chick vibe this hair gives, and it is their exclusive for the event. With different bangs and an asymmetrical choice on the style hud, this gives you enough options to create that look you are going for. I created a look that is a bit of a girly girl mix with the help of some Fashionably Dead and some Breathe, both will feature in most of the posts that I set up today and rightly so, I have some catching up to do.

    Bubbling Over

    Sasy Scarborough - Bubbling Over

Did you know? It has been announced as part of the February Membership Mania, that mesh uploads will be free for all Premium Plus users, starting in the next few weeks…however if you visit the Sandbox at Radiantia you can upload for free now. I myself went over and checked this, so it does in fact work now, so do not wait on the few weeks, get to saving. If you are not already a Premium Plus subscriber, I urge you to look into the features that having an account like that includes, because it was already robust and in the last few weeks it has gained even more, I went to bed with 703 prim allowance for my home and woke up with 937.

After my upload test, I was feeling more girly than usual. Fashionably Dead just released this superb bolero (fluff on and off options) and tank set — seriously I think I live in this tank now — that gives a lot of ballerina. It is a release for the Dubai event, and there are also some jeans I cannot wait to wear. However the girliness was strong, and I remembered the Butter skirt by Mellow Elie was going to be the thing that I needed to pull off a girl about town look. The soft flow of the skirt has such great fluidity to it, that I hope to see more like it in future.

The shoes by Breathe gave me a choice of fishnet or polka dots for the sock portion, and it was a neck and neck race to the finish but ultimately the dots won, that and the bows strengthen the vibe and I am feeling my Emily in Paris kind of moment. You can change all the parts separately, but I liked the all one colour look, this is actually one of the fatpack special colours. To make sure my bag matched, I was able to go into edit and tint the handles and heart so that it was more in keeping with the palette I had started, though there are so many colours to choose from via the bags HUD. Also adjusted for the look are these earrings by Yummy, part of their Beachy Boho collection, these are the bubbles earrings and I upped their size a fair bit and love the outcome so much. The Monso hair has a behind shoulders option, that as you know by now I will nearly always prefer, and that gave a proper visual line to the earrings. This half updo style is so cute and I wore one of my own headbands — by Flair — atop it, just to bring all the colours together.

Mainstore Monday – AlaskaMetro (who saw that coming)

Sasy Scarborough - AlaskaMetro - Mainstore Monday
Sasy Scarborough - AlaskaMetro Store - Mainstore Monday

Did You Know: In the FIRESTORM viewer (and possibly others), you can ‘Protect’ folders in your inventory, locking them in place so they can’t be accidentally deleted or moved. To enable this, simply right-click the folder and select “Protect.” This is an incredibly useful feature, especially for content creators, to safeguard their work.

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of AlaskaMetro—not just her makeup, skins, and clothing/lingerie, but also her work as an overall content creator and Second Life resident. Her folder in my inventory is one of the few I’ve protected using Firestorm’s tools. I’ve been using AlaskaMetro’s creations for years, with blog posts dating back to at least 2008 (on this blog). I had the pleasure of first interacting with her during Another Fundraiser, a massive project where she helped select the benefiting charity. Her philanthropic nature shines through—she often participates in events that donate proceeds to charity and creates bandanas for Hair Fair every year.

At one point, Alaska even attempted to revolutionise Second Life itself. With help from another creator, Namssor, she created a way to replace the default Second Life skin by editing the base files on your hard drive. This was groundbreaking before tattoo layers existed.

Let me paint a picture: before tattoo layers, we had one of each wearable layer—skin, socks, gloves, shoebase, hair, underpants, undershirt, pants, shirt, and jacket (the jacket layer did all the heavy lifting). There were no alphas, no tattoos, no stacked layers. It was medieval. Alaska’s innovation, called Synergy, allowed users to replace the default skin, freeing up the skin layer for customisation. This essentially created a workaround for the non-existent tattoo layer. She invited bloggers like me to test and share this concept, providing all the tools and guidance we needed. This was back in 2009 and remains one of the most exciting memories I have of her and her work. I wouldn’t be surprised if it directly influenced the implementation of tattoo and stacked layers in Second Life.

Alaska is that kind of creator—always pushing boundaries to enhance our experience. Every makeup item has a demo, product images make finding your look easy, and her store layout is intuitive. On her marketplace, she even has a secondary outlet for older creations at fantastic discounts. I once opened 81 tabs to buy everything I didn’t already own!

Her range is stunning, from delicate, wistful lingerie to bold, editorial makeup. She’s incredibly inclusive, creating products like flat chest skin layers for add-ons and other niche needs. If you’re not already an AlaskaMetro customer, visit her main store, play dress-up with the demos, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

I’m wearing AlaskaMetro skin, makeup, and adorable foil freckles that I love. Whether you’re going for a soft look or high-impact glamour, you’ll find it all. I’ve also layered a lovely camisole underneath for a subtle touch. The jeans are by The Kiwi Co. and are absolute must-haves! They include an “inside boots” option, making them perfect for pairing with these chunky, fur-lined, lace-up boots. This feature is so thoughtful, even if it doesn’t work with every boot. The sweater is another standout by Fashionably Dead, with both long and short versions. The oversized sleeves are so fun, completely covering the hands for that cosy, wiggly-fingers vibe.

Finally, let’s talk about this hair by Monso. It’s inspired by Jinx from Arcane—this is the Jinx 2 style. I love its shorter length with tendrils and flyaways. I even switched up my usual black hair for a punky soft pink with dark roots. It’s such a cool look!
