Have you met Frida ? She is the newest YS & YS Skin, and My Attic is blessed to have it as a teaser release this round. If you are a fan of YS & YS as we are at The Deck, then you will be familiar with their stunning faces, the beautiful bodies, and the wonderful assortments of make ups. The other upside to this is that this release also includes Visage appliers for those of you that – like me – wear the Slink Visage head. This teaser package comes with no hairbase, red, black and blonde hairbases. Brows in brown, black, red and blonde, and three lipstick options, two of which are so strinking in their deep lucious red tones. The nude is also exeptional, and it is the slight curl to the upper lip, and minute beauty marks that just make it a MUST HAVE! especially at the 95L price. Three tones are available, and if you already have your body/hands/feet appliers from previous releases you are set – and even if not, those are incredibly priced at the mainstore.

I saw Bubbi the dress by Kaithleens and fell smack in love with it. It is so adorable, in that Parisian schoolgirl way. We wear uniforms down here too, but ours tend to be in either plaid, tartan or just outright table cloth check pattern. By the end of school, you usually end up never wanting to wear blue again – yes that too, most of our school uniforms are blue, occasionally there is a maroon or a brown and yellow thing going on, but mostly its Blue, and Blue and Grey for the boys. I decided that if I was going to be in that kind of look, then true to form I would have to work out a way to wag, and so grabbing a low flying cloud by Flowey and off I go…no school today for Sasy. While it is not really school girly, and peter pan collars are so on trend these days, I still cannot help mixing those looks in my head, so socks and heels by Reign that are at N21 right now, were the perfect accompaniement to the look, and this amazing hair called Siri by Ploom that we are also lucky to have at My Attic.

The men get to be sexy this round of My Attic too. With ‘Temptation’ as the theme, ‘do you think I’m sexy baby’ well do you ? I had so much giggle time putting this picture together, and probably had more fun than I do as a woman. But then dressing up is always a fun time at The Deck. Wonton/Faun made these great mens mesh boxer shorts, you get a double pack and I just had to show them off somehow. Lucky for me, when visiting TMD in the past, I picked up this wonderful skin by Kooqla…as a blogger deals like that can not be passed up, because you never know when you are going to need to Man UP! or play a tamborine, or fly a kite. They are just things you need to grab when the grabbing is good.

Lounging on the Temptation Lounge that Whimsy and I created for the event, with 9 poses all included and 3 colours of the lounge, it was just the perfect way to show it, and the boxers off. Not that my boxers are off, they are definitely on. Kavar is also a great giggle, if you don’t know him then you will know his hair. Exile always does fantastice womens hair, but it is also the male hair that just stands out and says NOTICE ME. I knew that I would have no trouble finding the perfect Romance Novelesque hair from Exile, so with that, my boxers, my skin, and my perfect hands and feet from Slink – Appliers are available at Kooqla too – I was ready to take my stage.

I even found a website for inspiration for my cover, honestly one guy has done 7000 covers, I wonder if that is more or less than Fabio, and I wonder if he sells the book ? I mean would you read the book because the same hunk was on the cover, because he becomes your favourite ‘leading Man’ I guess it makes sense…we watch movies because of actors we like, so why not Romance Novels too.

This look also rocks, because it gave me the chance to rock out the ‘male’ version of my Billionaire watch from Mandala, see keeping the guy versions, or in some cases the girls versions of things is a smart move in Second Life, you never know when that flexi skirted nurses uniform you got from a ‘lucky chair’ once (that’s what you say) will come in handy.

Go big or go home, that is what it felt like visiting The Seasons Story the other day with Whimsy. I have been to two others in the past, and I especially loved the train themed one. This one I went into blindly, not having any idea of a theme, and was really excited to visit that way….no pre-screening of any of the items, just fun visiting and looking at everything. Now there are a few things to point out about the event though. They may seem like pros and cons, but the event as a whole is wonderful, so this is just forewarning of what you need to know of. Firstly make sure you have time, lots of time to spend there, looking at everything. Secondly wear as little as you can, and system layers are about all you need, because you will be demoing a lot of great items, and having to undress and redress is just a chore no one needs. Thirdly, make sure you have deep pockets, you are going to need them, you will not get out of here without spending, and rightly so, because I got some fantastic items.

Now in the past it has been you entered and you followed a path, and for the most part you do that this time too, but BE AWARE, this build tricked me big time. I walked out of the landing point building, which is adorable… and into the path, I did my lap to the right – there are rules I have about how I have to navigate things – and only one side first, the other side of the path on the second pass, I cannot left and right as I go, it is just too cuckoo for cocoa puffs.

This is my warning part. I thought I was done, I did my lap, I saw and tried on great things and that was it right ? NO! This event is three tiers of awesome shopping, and if your draw distance is down, as it most likely will be when visiting any popular event, you can completely miss the fact that there is more. I really believed I had done the event, and then saw that those gorgeous arches that I made sure to take a picture of, were in fact leading me to the next section. The build is great, and the tiers mean you only rez where you are at, which is good, but again, I did not think there was more…so I encourage you to always take steps down anything that looks like a pathway or an opening, because you will find treasures.

Almost head to toe is from The Seasons Story. This incredible sweater is a MUST HAVE! I bought it in two of the colours it comes in, and you also get a hud with texture change for the sleeves. The leggings are beautiful long john looking leggings – make sure you demo everything, as these did not fit me at the waist with my body properly, but I knew I would be layering and I just wanted to own them too, but DEMO DEMO DEMO – you should be always demoing all mesh anyway.

Damselfly is the creator of this stunning hair, they have levelled up big time in their store make over – yes these are things I notice – their ads, their styles, everything has a more polished look about it all, and I have always enjoyed the niceness of both creators behind the brand, so fell in love with this style big time.  Always easy to mix and match to co-ordinate, my Glamistry shoes worked really well with this look. At first I was going to make the straps black and the rope ties blue, but settled on this variation instead, the interchangable options of the huds make it so easy for that, especially if you fatpack.

I am a sparkle pony, well not really but if you ever played WOW you would remember they have a sparkle pony you can buy. I laughed so hard when Mel made an announcement in his guild saying that if you can afford a sparkle pony and not update your pc to not crash during raids, you are OUT OF HERE! funniest thing ever. I love the combination of these Uber and C88 items worn in todays post. The softness of the gold really helps with the choice of champagne skirt I went with in the pencil skirt, because I didn’t want a yellowy gold look.

Combining the white and gold of the stunning unicorn inspired footwear, with the gold and pearls from yummy, it all just came together. I also adore that knowing Emery is always just spot on with her palettes I reached for natural blindly and it was perfection. This outfit would be perfect for a daytime soiree of sorts, a wedding as a guest, or something that just wants you to show you are definitely well put together, and know your day from night looks.

Rocking out the UPDATED 2.1 Lara Body by Maitreya, make sure you got yours. YS&YS have made appliers for one of my most worn skins, so I ran over and picked those up, so that I could wear the body with my Visage head and all working. I am wearing set 1 of the Maitreya nail appliers I made for Flair that have gold through them, and then the Slink High feet, which when worn in size xs work perfectly with the body, seeing as I wear the xs with the Slink body anyway, nothing has to change.

I should have paid more attention today. Whimsy and I went shopping all over Second Life, and she was the driver. We went to a few different events, she was using SeraphimSL as her guide and I picked up bits and pieces along the way. We also did some store shopping as we are liken to do. Now the good thing is, that even though I have no idea where I picked things up from, I am able to do some detective work so that I do not lead you all astray. Taking a trip to my SecondLife.com Transactions page, I can find out from which region each item I am wearing was from and then check those against the slurls of events. Luckily it is only two items I am unsure of, but they are great items, and I can see people really wanting to grab them, especially as they were really inexpensive and look great. After searching, and it was easy, because of the new filter options on the Secondlife.com website, I remembered that one of the items was 59L so that just came up without having to know the name of the item at all. The other just happened to be at the same event, so extra bonus on time saving.

The items in question are the Frosted Bloom headband, and the Book Bag vintage version (you get two in the pack) both items are gorgeous and so well made, and the other day someone asked in Plurk if any other magic schools existed in Second Life. Well I am not sure, but this outfit for me would totally sort me out for some dabbling in the fantastical arts. The event is the Cosmopolitan Event and it was a really great selection of items, I shopped a lot and especially some great homewares items, so if you haven’t been, get going.

Another round of Collabor88 has begun and the theme is also magical with the Unicorn focus. If these stunning creatures are not your cup of cocoa and sparkles there are still items that have more of a pastel awesomeness about them. One such item is the fantastic ring by Yummy, there are two to choose from, one which has the black and white detailing the other a more girly girl rainbows and pinkness happening. We ran over to Gizza as they had some newness up and around, and Whimsy and I both grabbed these fantastic pants…I called dibs on blogging them first, we have such similar tastes these things have to happen on occasion. You get a set of three pants in each pack type, and with this new Emery top from C88 it is a wonderful look.

Also from C88 the hair I am wearing is by Lamb, and I love this style, so 80’s for us that were in highschool back then, for when we were over and done with the sticky uppy looks – some awful hair happened in the 80’s. It made a huge comeback as a look with Avril Lavigne when she did that Girlfriend video, so I it is time for another twirl around the grid. Finishing off my look are these strappy shoes by Fri.day…the style is very cool, kind of business and the other business all wrapped into one, I really dig them a lot. The work with the Slink High Feet, as well as having Maitreya feet options too, so I was sorted.

The awesome that is Mandala just went on SALE today, with all items 30 – 70% off to comemorate the New Year. Got to love those kinds of traditions, I pushed through the ” we are too full for you” dropdowns and finally got myself in there, and then proceeded to buy everything that I didn’t already have.

TIP : when attending a sale, type the name of the store in your search inventory section, then follow it with a + and then as you find items you like type in the name, so that if you already own them in some form or another it will come up for you, without having to scan through all the items you have by that store, or the other thousand items in your inventory called GOLD.

I have always been a silver first girl, it will not change – gold for me belong to more sentimental pieces – but since playing around with my great new ears, I have been rocking out with the gold. That also has a lot to do with the Yummy release at Uber I spoke about the other day, so mixing and matching Yummy and Mandala pieces together, with this great top that is part of a set from Indyra, just made my whole look come together.

Mandala uses the E2V Vendor system which means that you can gift everything, or fix up your alts while you are at it, so make the most of this sale, you will never regret these divine pieces.

Is there editing in my picture today, hell to the yes, I wish we had hairlines like that in SL all the time, but sometimes you just have to get creative, so this is one of those times, also sometimes a shadow can just get in the way, so I do tend to mess around with things as I see fit…the trick is doing so without changing so much that it is impossible to actually enjoy in world. So while we can wear hairbases, they won’t come off as smooth as this looks in the pic.

The hair is one of Plooms 12 days of Christmas styles she recently did. A tradition with the Ploom store where she releases a style a day, bit of a machine she is that time of the year.

I am also wearing my Lolong Trousers by Celoe, these are my most favourite of pants. Whatsnewsl has been wearing them since they were released, everytime I log her in I get excited I have my Lolongs on.

Texture change furniture wins me over. We change so much in Second Life, and sometimes you just want to stick to something for longer than five minutes. Such is the case with furniture, it can be fun to redo a whole space, but sometimes you want something a little more ‘always’ and it needs to have a great look, good animations, and a few colour combinations is great. Such is the case with this furniture set you will find at this round of Uber and I am a big fan.

I don’t mean a thousand options, or anything that silly, but some great neutrals really helps, what I also loved about this set, is that the cushions are separate, though in their own little piles, they are not connected to the lounge, so if you do come across some fun cushions at a Gacha, or from a previous set you owned, or you just want to pile on a whole lot of plushies, you can do so, without it interfering with the overall look, which makes it more unique in what you can do with it. Great price too for the whole package, so definitely give it a look over during the event.

The other night I was watching ‘ Rules of Engagement” i love that show, and one of the characters asked the other if she could help her pick out some shoes for the night out, she was worried that the ones she had were too slutty. The other character asked her ‘ Are they see through” she said “no” so the other said “not too slutty then” I lol’d at this interaction probably a bit too much, and then even more so when I saw the clear panels in these newish shoes from Essenz. they are not slutty shoes, and the clear panels actually give them a very expensive kind of look to them. So see through shoes have come a long way it seems. I love what mesh has done for creations in that area too, the redering power that people have now to create items to really look clear but still have their shape, look and so on, it really is very cool.

I would definitely need to wear something else with them in the future, but for just chilling at home in our studio, I went with a latest release from Elymode that has appliers for Slink body and others included in the package. Very little shorts and a very little top, so yes, there is that :P.

I picked up a skin from Marketplace today, it was a promo, and there was a demo, but alas the demo is system, so it really is kind of hard to know if it will work on the body, hands, head and so on without actually seeing it. But as it was 99L for the whole thing, and that is less than 50c I took a gamble, and I really like it, so for those wanting to take a spin in something new check that out too.

For those that are looking at the pics and thinking, that building looks familiar, it is the My Attic build, but a copy for us to use, because there was no way I was going to have Mel make us something so beyond gorgeous and only use it for ten days every two months.

I have said it before, and this time surpasses the times before. The Yummy collection at this round of Uber is Incredible, Collectible and MUST HAVE items, the whole lot of them. Also her sisters store Nylon Outfitters next door, the whole collection is superb also, the dresses are insanely inexpensive, even at three times the price they would be a steal. This is the mini baroque dress, I will go back for more of these, the long gown I bought in all colours, this one I wanted to piece together a look for, and didn’t want to clutter my mind with colours.

The fit is perfect, just threw in some alpha options on my body and away I went. I knew I wanted something along the lines of ballet boots, or even some hardcore punked out boots, but then remembered these cool wrap heels, that are only a nail like heel at the back so that you have to be trained to be on your toes at all times, very sexy.

The hair I picked up is by Olive, and I do love the style, but for me the textures are a little pale, especially the blacks. I did try adding a little tint, but it just flattened it out too much, so I opted for tinting a red instead, which gave it a very nice rich look. There are amazing glittery texture packs available as well, and I was close to tempted for that, but having a regal moment instead. I have been enjoying watching the releases that Olive puts out as she plurks them, so she is definitely a store to visit often and watch her blossom into a regular hair store in your rotation.

Ringing in the New Year with some delights from League…delights in the form of skin appliers for the new Maitreya body now in their store. I saw the announcement and ran right over to get mine, you can get them in singles, or in all tone options. WIth already having them for my slink hands and feet, I was good to go.

I picked up this incredible stole at Kustom9 and just had to have something classy to wear with it, while not wanting to go the route of a full formal affair, I opted for something elegant and classy but easy to wear and show off my gams in. The League dress released at last months Uber and now in the mainstore fit the bill perfectly.

Adding the very high shoes from Reign that have texture change ribbon options – though not quite the same reddish pink of the dress, it works for the time of year. Also at Kustom9 I picked up this great hair from Little Bones, I do love her hair, but with my head off this time around, I realised that her styles do not fit without alpha options, which I haven’t had to use for a long time. I did try just tweaking my shape, but to no avail, so alpha was needed, I think that Little Bones may need to look at her head shape versus her customers and see if there is something going on if an alpha is so necessary.

Uber has started another round, and Boom released some lovely chokers or collars options available, so you can flaunt your graceful neckline with these, and they are delicate and so pretty.

So many exciting things, Maitreya has released Lara, a full mesh body with hands and feet included. You also get appliers lingerie by Zaara, as well as mesh lingerie by Maitreya included. For those that are Glam Affair skin wearers this body is going to make you very happy indeed, as all the skin presets are the Glam Affair skin tones. There are also other stores making skin appliers, and many more to come.

For Slink hands and feet, do not despair, because this body works with those too, just wear the XS sizes and you are good to go instantly.

There are a lot of great things going on with the huds, feet are all one item, so you just choose which style you want to wear. Nail polish presets are also included, but for those wanting more, there will be nail appliers you can purchase. I have made some for my store Flair already , and you can also pick up a gift set from either the store or Marketplace, so that you can play around and see how it all works.

The body is on the smaller side I have noticed, so fitting to mesh clothing should be a breeze, and of course if your shape is already standard sizing, you shouldn’t have to worry about anything. It is fitted to the body though, so you can alter if needed. The alpha hud has many options, so it will just take practice. You can also minimise the hud, so that you don’t take up your screen with it, but can keep it on if you change clothing a lot.

Now ever since the release of the leggings/boots all in one set that Maitreya did as one of their first mesh items, everyone has been all about their bums, and this body has accentuated that love for many – I so wanted to put ss there instead of cc – it has that Maitreya shape that we all know, and I am looking forward to many more clothing options for it. There is also a group gift out of some footwear that will work with the feet, so slip them on for the new year, and you won’t need much else.

I am wearing a wonderful dress by Emery that is at this round of C88, and it has that very mod look of the 60’s about it, so it was perfect with the updated for body wear Thigh Boots by Maitreya also. The hair tied the whole look together, with its high pony and cascading curls by Analog Dog. It is called bangers, and it has 3 bang attachment options, so three styles in one. I am hoping more stores do that in future, it was a big thing for stores to do in 2007 – 2008 but died off, so yay for it’s return.

I have on my slink head, Visage, and because of the expressions hud allowing me to turn off the ears, I ran over to The Mens Department – I wish they would list in search as their proper name, not TMD it is not easy finding them if you do not know of such options – and got the NEW Mandala ears. I had seen them in the past, previous releases, but kind of put them in the ‘for other people’ basket…if you knew the kind of things that went in that basket it may just curl your toes.

The hud is incredible, you get different options of ear types – I KNOW! WHO KNEW YOU WANTED SO MANY TYPES? Mandala that is who – and they all come with gorgeous texture options tips wise, or not, metal options for pierced or not, gem texture options and skin bases or tinting – for the more fantastical of us all. They are such a great price too, so honestly even if you think you have a basket like mine, you need them anyway, they are awesome.

The stool I am sitting on in the pic is by The Loft and also had just a perfect Mod feel to it, I loved the style and can totally imagine them in a really cool bar setting. Pubs have gotten so upmarket these days, that this would definitely be in place in any stylish location and setting.
