One of the best things about working in an environment where people like to get coffee or snacks from outside of the office is getting the chance to run out and spend some time in the fresh air and just having that time out…even when you don’t drink coffee.

I didn’t have to go too far today, as this particular cafe/bakery is on the Genesis sim just across from Winx&Flair, Narcisse and Adam n Eve, so if you ever need a great little spot to take some pics, feel free to do so.

I saw this hair release by Tableau Vivant, and it had such a lovely North Shore cosmopolitan vibe about it. Sunshine and good living. That then moved on to this great shirt by Nyu that has long sleeves which I love and just a nice fit perfect for my Slink Hourglass body. Paired up with this great new skirt by Vinyl that is at this round of Fameshed. It kind of gives an ‘ Anyone for Tennis’ feel to the ensemble but the skirt is actually leather, so instead of runners, I went with these adorable chunky sandals also by Nyu.

This post also runs into my Something Old Something New Challenge from the other day, the old coffee stuff, the new skirt, the borrowed bakery set and the blue top, I am feeling the mixes a lot right now.

So many things went on in this post, for one I channelled my inner Whimsy and put together this look for my location with bits and pieces making the build look completely different. The build is a nice large store front, with large floor to ceiling windows at the front and lovely doors, but I added the planks and lights by Meva, to close that window portion off, and then adding the outdoor look table and chairs.

Outdoor seating is a big thing in Australia, so much so that each chair costs a few hundred dollars payment to the council each quarter to have, so they are definitely an investment…but well worth it as Aussies definitely like to be seen enjoying their cafe experiences.

Seeing and being seen is the way to go, and while I was distracted by some work on my laptop and enjoying my extra large cup of Cheeky Pea Tea, I had some very confident guests stop by. Now confidence is a must when you are an elf I would imagine, but that confidence probably comes from the knowing that if people are not so nice, they will end up on a list, so you better toe the line.

These guests of mine have their homebase at this round of The Arcade, which opened yesterday for the month. Mutresse has created many variations of them and they are delightful. They also have great taste in women and are definitely charmers, when not taking pictures of themselves or swinging from the furniture, seriously the shennanigans.

I was a beacon for all things red, with this great jacket by Cynful that fits over the top. A great pairing but able to be worn separately, so many options of use. I went with keeping Cynful with the great belted Flare jeans that have the option to be worn with high heels or flats, these things are very useful when getting dressed.

A beautiful recent hairstyle by Mina gives a lot of attention to the upper torso, so you can still see the clothing really well, it also has a styling hud to change sides, which is handy when taking pics, as I may have been sitting in the other chair.

While Whimsy Winx is on you have to take advantage, so while I had the initial idea of the look I wanted for this post, it was a co- styled location set up by Whimsy Winx.

Earlier today I was talking to Gogo of JuicyBomb and had an idea of working off the idea of “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue’ and this post came together without even trying and hit all the criteria.

Something OLD

The build an older Gacha item by Rowne is a perfect city look, that I have used many times for outside city scenes. These great shoes by N-Core that even though new to me, are an older style that has fantastic platform wood, braid or cork options, as well as the bow off function for the peep-toe front.

Something NEW

The new is the wonderful skin by Glam Affair that is at this round of Uber, she is like the younger sister of the default Spencer skin, with those gorgeous doe type eyes, and the smattering of freckles really won me over. Also new is this great jacket by Vinyl, that is at the annual Tannenbaum event, where you can get your wintery needs met. There are options for changing different parts of the jacket to make combinations such as I did. Then you have these hip hugging shorts by Blueberry, that make for a very attractive showcase for the effort being put in to wear them.

Something Borrowed

I was able to get the styling assistance from Whimsy that fit into this category with her awesome use of the industry letters by Apple Fall, where she put together the Yoga sign for me…then adding some beautiful topiary plants and planters by Trompe Loeil. Lastly in the borrowed was the Scooter by Consignment, which I loved this, because I also had scooters by What Next so instead of it looking like a created scene it had a bit more realism to it.

Something Blue

Well, blue came into a lot of the look, the blue I used in the HUD from my vinyl jacket, the blue denim of the shorts, and then the blue that the sports bra came in with the additional sunshiney yellow that I had to inject into the look as well.

The hair shopping we did the other day –  Ashia and I bought lots and lots of hair – came in real handy, as I had this great cap style going into the studio, then though for a bit of realism, same store, same colour but hair down now, and jacket off with the sports bra also from Vinyl being used. I like being able to do these kinds of things, it makes for livening up the post for yourself just as much as your readers. I also used the sheen option in my Slink body HUD, and then the shimmer option on my LeLutka head HUD so that I looked like I had definitely been getting my Yoga on.

Last week for FLF Vinyl had the lovely Chai Slip dress as their item, in a special Camo print. I am a lover of camo, and I already had the fatpack of the dress, but it was stuck in my mind when wearing these boots by Vale Koer. The boots are amazing, so high up the thigh, they are so close to being pants.  So when thinking what can I wear with these the dress just flew into my mind and sure enough perfect fit. The dress sits enough away from the legs to slide the boots right up and under there, and is still short enough and high on the sides to see that it is a fabulous combination.

The fun thing about the fatpack is that there are all these print options, not only the solids, and while the HUD does not actually show which button is which print, it was fun to try each and every one, which I don’t think I would have done had the image just been visible. The black and gold is an unusual choice for me because I am definitely silver dominant, but it was just the right amount to enjoy, and spend some time out of my comfort zone…also there are many things I own that have gold only options that make it good to have some mixes available.

Then there are the things that give you all the metal options like these other great nails & rings sets by Formanails – I told you I went a bit nuts shopping there the other day – This set made me very happy, because in the ad it shows as having a butterfly perched on the rings, and I am not a fan of butterfly decoratively – I have quirks – but the ad showed that the butterfly had a hide option, and I think even if I had not already been a fan of the set, I would have purchased it just because the creator took that extra thought to make it optional. Lots of metal and colour options for the nails, they are bento and also you can wear the nails or the rings separately from each other.

I was on a roll, so the Glitter Freckles by Izzie’s recently being updated was a natural go to, these are the golds, but there are also silver options as well, and with the tint option on your head huds, you can recolour and have a great old time. I also got some glitter lashes appliers and did end up tinting those a little more than the soft gold they came with.

Some other things that made my weeks recently, first these adorable headphones by Mannequin. I saw the wire work and fell for them, they are adorable and come in Tiara, Doe, Bunny, Bun Bun and Meow, they come with gold, white or black options or my favourite fatpack. Then the other day I was having a chatter on facebook with a few different people and went to check the store of one which is Pink Cream Pie. I saw a bra type top with these very cool armbands and wanted to know if the armbands were separate. Sure enough, they were and that made them a must-have, as sometimes you just want a little something to take something else to another level. These are great and the materials and all that jazz are very well done.

This great style by Exile has been my on and off all week hair. I was even wearing it at Collabor88 earlier in the week where it is from having a chat with Anya Ohmai and Gidge Uriza and she admired it, which is always nice to hear when wearing a great item from an even greater creator.

Yesterday Whimsy, Ashia and I went to 6 Republic and everything was decor or builds and I went a little nuts, and you need to get over there so you can go nuts too, I bought most of the builds, because they were so inexpensive and just amazing work. This one is by Kraftwork and it is so awesome and this is just the window, there are so many great points of interest in the build that you can be taking photos for days, and it is not even furnished yet…the window seat is built in and the view is part of the set, which made it even more delightful.

These bell-bottoms by Overhigh click on all my bell-bottom love needs. Then after grabbing them in the darks set, I fell head over heels for the blouse, also an Overhigh item. Now the exciting but also at the same time upsetting thing, is that these are sold in colour sets. But when trying the demo you only see the one colour, and the displays only show one colour, so the fact that there are more than is a complete surprise.

I hope that the owner of the store considers showing the HUD of included colours on the items going forward, because while I ummed and ahhed over the blouse that was shown in pearl, opting to not go with the black also on display this golden yellow had me squealing in delight at having picked the right set. I still do not know how to run forward with this store, because had I picked the black, I would have been deciding on the black, but what if the other colours were all purple…again the decision is on the colour shown, so I would have survived, but Overhigh please consider showing the beautiful colours you have available as well.

This hair is by Sintiklia, and part of the Luxe Box for November. Now I appreciate the greatness that are these kind of boxes, but for me I tend to wait until I know what is in them, and if I can use the items, on searching the other day I found another month I purchased and never unpacked, because things get a vacation in my inventory sometimes. Anyway this hair had me buying it at full price, and while in the group I grabbed an older box from Oct last year, that had a great hair in it that Ashia had seen in a blog post recently. Those bloggers that blog old items, mixing it up, they are the ones to watch for sure. If you are in Luxe Box group, definitely make the most of the month and look at what is in older boxes, in case you need to grab those too, as you can only do so when in the group.

The hair comes with bangs options, but honestly the long luxurious waves and the centre part just screams 70’s love to me, and with the blouse and bell-bottoms already waiting, it was easy. I had taken a run over to Touchic for a cute gacha necklace they have out at the moment, and while there grabbed this great bag, which just happened to be in the colour to match my top, but also comes with a whole great collection of colours in a HUD.

I was unsure where to take my pics, but all you have to do at our platform is turn up your view, spin around and you are bound to find a room or build that Whimsy has decorated…perfect!

I love everything about this look, especially once I came up with the title and decided I very much could see myself being called Cookie in the right time, in the right city, by the right person.

The outfit started with these beautiful pumps by Ingenue, that is at this round of Collabor88. The perfect pair of pumps, for a day out, and the trim around the inner edge just opened up everything for me in terms of styling. The Secret Store has this cropped jacket and high waisted shorts set, that is such a great combination, but taking the top and styling it differently gives you so many more delightful options.

I picked up this skirt a few weeks back at Miss Chelsea, a stunner of a pencil skirt length, but with it tied off at the knee with a knot, the fabric stretches exactly as it should and it moves so well with rigging to my Slink Hourglass body. A more modern take on a pencil skirt just delights in a combination with the jacket.

I added this lovely style hair by Entwined that is at this latest Rewind (40’s theme) event and needed a little something more. I was on the hunt for a nice fascinator or hat and found this great store Bowtique. I have encountered them in the past, but more was available and I got the bag, the hat and the jewellery, which all have texture change options, so to be able to make the bag black and white was just delightful, as well as the hat having the option to change colour and that fantastic little bow that tied in with the jacket.

The skin is an older Pink Fuel skin for Lelutka, that has a perfect maturity for the look, and such luscious red lipstick. The lips without the lipstick are also too gorgeous, and I am glad I decided to grab some PF which was fated because I did not even notice until writing up credits that the skin is Vera and so is the Jacket.

Now about the location of the picture. This was the front patio of the latest cottage by Trompe Loeil at C88. The cottage itself is beautiful but the patio just makes it a home. It is everything I would imagine the perfect home would be in the right suburbs location in older American times. So adorable, for leaving the door unlocked, collecting the milk off the front stoop and going to meet the girls in the city for lunch.

Earlier this year I was searching marketplace and found FormaNails add on mesh nails and fell head over heels for them. Especially seeing as they were made to fit Slink hands. Recently I saw that they have started making bento add on nails, for Slink Dynamic, Maitreya Bento and Vista.

I shared a link with Ashia and Whimsy and we ran over to get us some goodies. Not only did they have the ones I previously owned but many more had been created and the work on them is stunning. The shapes, the styles and the texture work are all beautiful. They also come with a colour change hud so that you can match them to your look. I am wearing them with these great ring sets (also made with Slink Dynamic versions to purchase) by Yummy at this round of C88. The hud for those gives you the same rings on both hands, then you can click to remove so that you can create your own mix of styles or remove from one side altogether.

This whole look had me feeling very glamorous, I am using the background prop by Sayo also a C88 item, and definitely a need not only for bloggers but creators, as it is the perfect space for ad pics. The Chandelier is part of a new set by Cheekypea and is just divine.

I visited Rewind the other day and got this lovely stole that comes in numerous colours and is very well detailed, and ridiculously inexpensive so grab that as soon as you can. The dress is by Ison, and is a stunner. Not only in this way of wear but in all the others, because Harry is a genius of giving and has made this dress with sleeves that turn off or on, as well as fill the chest area, or you can also remove the collar and middle strapping, so you have many looks from the one dress, it is a dream come true in the little black dress ideal.

Ashia and I also visited Sintiklia yesterday, so much hair she had to catch up on, and I had missed Rina in the past, and was delighted to see these little buns options in the styling hud. They are shown in the style hud pic, but not the modeled hair, so it was a nice surprise, the hair is stunning without them, but so cute with. Also the forward left side right side and behind shoulders options rock. I did do some trickery though to get the stole to not look clipped with the hair, as you can see HERE.

The boots are by Utopia, and the strapping, the metal detail are all fantastic. You have a lot of options for different parts of the boot to change, but I kept it simple with the black all over and the silver metal. Such realistic detailing, so beautiful to wear, and sturdy enough to spend hours in, which is what you want in high heels.

I feel like this has been the month so far of actually spending some face-time with some really amazing people. Even just to jump on over to events, it has been awesome doing so in person, and not just chattering in IM only. Yesterday I met up with Mavi Beck (Flickr) and did a run through EBento together. I picked up some poses by Happy Dispatch that were there, and they are very cute, and worked perfectly for my Faun look.

The day before that Whimsy Winx (Virtually Dressed) and Ashia Tomsen (Inventory Episode) and I hit up 68Main and did some accessories shopping, which were in the form of these awesome rings and palm rings that work with my Slink Dynamic hands, so cute, and have all these metal and gemstone options.

That leaves the great items at this round of Collabor88. This hair is adorable, not only are the Faun horns texture change and separate attachments, but there are also little horns options too, so perfect with a styling hud for different shoulder side back front etc, options. The top by Blueberry, is very cool with its laced up sleeves that have options for texture change, that so complimented not only these sexy shorts by Vinyl but also these great boots by Mutresse.

Now I always have a lot of praise for Mutresse in my posts, and rightfully earned, but yesterday it levelled up yet again when I realised that her boots were MODIFY! Now this is a HUGE deal for me, because the black were not strong enough, and so being able to tint them a little darker using the hue slider grey, it brought them to the perfect black for my overall look without losing the shine. I am so happy, because sometimes you wish a pink was a shade darker, or a yellow a shade brighter etc, this won’t always do that for you as tint still can be too visibly tinted and no one wants that, but having the option to try is great. The laces being separately faced to texture change (as are so many other parts of the boots) made the laced up boots, tie in (see what I did there) so well with the top and the shorts.

It is coming up fast, Melbourne Cup time of the year, when hats mark the occasion and everyone has a half day, and if they don’t officially they usually somehow make it happen. It is almost a crime in Australia to not let your staff grind to a halt in the afternoon of Melbourne Cup day, and drink, eat and take bets. Most companies just gave up, not worth the drama, and you could not get any work out of them if you asked them to come back, no one wants tipsy staff.

This outfit is perfect for the occasion, the hat is a divine older release by LODE, and the scarf I was able to tint to bring all my yellow home. The tuxedo jacket comes with leggings or without, and with or without sleeves, so many options, makes for a wonderful collection by Baiastice. I of course opted for no leggings, because I wanted to show off my boots.

These were this weeks 50L friday item by Pure Poison and they had me at hello. I ran over there scooped them up, and then went on a whirlwind jaunt of all the stores. It was a lot of fun, and I ended up buying a lot more than on offer. Including this great build by Hive, that I am only showing from the balcony but is a gorgeous build. The amoire also inside of it is a stunning piece, the doors close, but when opened it is a beautiful reading hideaway…love it.

So being in Australia, we do not get Snow Days, I mean they may get them in the mountains but I am very doubtful of that ever being the case. I can imagine if we found out others got a day off just because it was snowing, we would insist we get rain days, or too sunny to sit on a school bench days.

This is that time of the year when the seasonal changes in clothing is the most noticeable, beautiful winter pieces that just make you want to snuggle and layer upon layer, but in reality are sitting with fans roaring in your face and everything just being icky and sticky. I digress, I was thinking all of this because Cheeky Pea has released this beautiful sofa-bed set that is at this round of Uber, and included are these adorable fluffy hanging things that just look like immortalised snowballs. My mood definitely took over when I saw them, so much so that apparently they looked good enough to eat…now I understand how people get their tongues stuck to poles.

My favourite thing about this set is also the colours used. I am a very girly girl, but when it comes to decor I am all about the male influence of soft greys, dark blues, a very neutral masculine infusion, that makes room for some light female touches and becomes the perfect home. So much so that even though it has a rug included, I used one that I just released for For the Love of the Devil fundraiser that will start tonight and has a slew of incredible creators involved. It is one week only, so make sure you attend.

You can pick up the fabulous necklace I have on that was made by Cynful for the event and this hair that I also have on by Entwined. So many stores with such amazing items, and some are incredible recolours of older favourites, I just had to pick up some new colour GoldDigger dresses by Cynful because those are awesome.

I went on a little jump skip hop around the grid, and grabbed my updated Folklore Leggings in applier form by League, love these, and to be able to wear them as appliers is all win. The colours of the flora set just worked so well with the combination of this fantastic shirt by Vinyl that actually comes with a bra attached in mesh, but I went a little more covered with an appliers cami. The shirt has perfect fit over these applier leggings but also over mesh ones that I tried first, but was too much in love with this print.

The Shoes are by Breathe and are at The Gacha Garden, these are perfect for mixing with prints, as the straps and base are colour change possible with the pack, and that gives you so much fun to create a little bit more of an imprint on your look.
