One Deviation from the Norm – Sigma
Today I learned a few things, firstly that Sigma is the 18th letter in the Greek alphabet, and that Sigma is represents one deviation from the norm. Now this was a perfect lesson for today, as the whole point of my post since yesterday was exactly that. Sofi is living up to her branding in a spectacular way. While those will know Sigma for the incredible jewellery that she creates, she has taken a huge sidestep into the clothing market. Now personally I pay attention to not just releases, but brands and their creators…I notice things, especially when they seem to be missing – we get a lot of that in Second Life. So back to my focus, which is Sofi and Sigma. I saw that she had released this beautiful smock/tunic style dress, and it is such a lovely starting out release, because it is a wonderful take on traditional Greek wear. So I ran over to grab it and then contacted Sofi – I am lucky to have the pleasure of interacting with her at times – and I made a huge assumption as to why she was jumping into clothing. My take on it was that she has such a great sense of style – she does, you really have to look at her ads – and so she just decided it would be easier for her to find what she wanted if she made it herself. Which is actually the reason that a lot of Second Life content creators started creating, especially in those earlier years when less was less. So I put forth my assumption, but the reply was different than expected, but not so much so that it didn’t make complete sense. Sofi is making clothing, so that it works with her jewellery. She said that her customers are always on the lookout for clothing that allows her pieces to be worn without clipping, and issues with the other types of mesh. Sofi also let me know that she had reached out to other creators for collaborations, so I hope that we can see something like that in future. Her pieces are always magnificent, so if others do not jump at that opportunity that would be such a shame.
I also learned today that while there has always been reference to Sigma Men, it is more recently that Sigma Women has become a thing. The term “Sigma Woman” has recently emerged in the world of personal development, referring to a woman who is independent, self-sufficient, and highly individualistic. If that does not sum up Sofi and her brand Sigma, then I do not know what would. I think that I have mentioned in the past, with her more recent releases, they are MOD, which is the most exciting thing, because the clothing she has released is not only MOD, but it is also PBR inclusive. You have both options, PBR or Baked (which is when the lighting and detailing is baked onto the item). PBR – Physically Based Rendering – is so easy to mod colour wise, and so much fun to do so, unlike baked lighting, it has separate layers of information, and the colour/tint section is devoid of anything but that , the colour, so you get to have all sorts of fun. I was able to match my dress trim to my shoes colour with ease, and this just makes me super happy. Then on top of that, if Sofi is making clothing to fit her jewellery, chances are that it is going to work with other peoples as well, so that is just win for everyone. Also a win for everyone is the amount of gorgeous group gifts available at Sigma, so even though the dress is currently at an event, you should definitely go to the store for a visit and grab those, if you do not own them already, that and the fact that her store has been rebuilt and is now a super store of divine pieces. All three of the jewellery pieces I have on today were in the gifts section of the store.
I am wearing the Tachi wedges by Breathe, love the rope braided look, so very nautical, I did do red and blue in the look, but not a nautical theme, I had to control myself, but these are definitely get your yacht on looking wedge heels for safety, while you champagne the day away in the sun. I feel that way in this dress and the hair too, that Serenade style is such a modernised take on a classic look, all waves and sweeps, it is gorgeous.

Sweet Street
This is Second Life, so of course you are going to meet someone with a foot fetish, or have them infiltrate a group chat you are in, while having a jovial conversation about the price of scone mix. I myself do not understand the appeal, however, then you have shoes…and shoes go on feet, and shoes are a mighty addiction that I can understand, for me in Second Life, it goes Hair then Shoes then all the other things in between – in RL was always shoes first. So when you see shoes like these ones, that look like a cookie and a cake had a love shoe baby, it all comes together. I swear I can feel the marshmallowy goodness supporting my toes and arches, and they are in heaven. I mean they obviously are not edible footwear, but they definitely look delicious. They also look good enough to eat in the other colours available. I love that you can change the middle section of the soles independently from the other part of the shoe, to give a contrast look like this one. Breathe has made these so beautifully, and I am so glad my Ao’s walk and run are so bouncy, because it just adds even more to the appeal.
Another of Rowne’s recent releases is this fun distressed mini. Now it definitely makes visible a lot of area that I do not make visible…but with the double BOM layering of these folklore leggings by League, I felt ok with the rips and tears. It is so well structured too, because honestly if I keep dancing around as I am it may just disintegrate. At this point I would have to tell my Mum that it is a belt, not a skirt. That is what makes the whole look fun though, the idea that you can just wear something so much that it ages into something else entirely.
Monso has this gorgeous updo style as a recent release, and it is fabulous, I love the long skinny braids which are actually an option to wear or not, which is great for a more professional classy updo to casual look, choices are fantastic. The bangs are also an add on attachment, so you can go with or without, it is up to you, but I really liked that straight across blunt look. It was a great hair to use with these awesome headphones by Mandala that have so many great metal and leather options, you also have a neck worn option, but today I decided I was going to wear them as regular headphones.

Nope
I am still on my winter rebel trip, and I think that Rowne was hearing me, when they released these amazing fur boots. They are all sorts of fluffy goodness, in an array of fun colours, and even more in the deluxe pack hud. They have a mix of ski bunny and raver look to them, so this outfit just took both of those concepts into account. I love hat hair, I have probably put that in writing in my blog about a hundred times at least by now, but it won’t stop me from saying it again. This beanie braided style is so cute, the braids have a style hud for both front, left right or behind, and the beanie has colours as well as the embroidered wording or an off option for no text at all, I definitely like that you can turn it off, but NOPE is fun – I once edited a visor to have that written across it, but that is for another time.
I picked up this fun top a while ago now, and I love it. It is a tank, sure, but they just went that extra bit further and made it so eye catching and fun. I am not usually a fan of labels/branding at the front of items, but this was just perfect, and the label actually works in its favour giving it that boujee look. It looked so cute with these cut off denim jeans by Cynful, a recent release. I like that with the HUD on these you can change the colour of the ripped edges.
I was doing that thing where I decide that I want to use something sold one way, in another, and this bracelet from Mandala was so cool, that I decided to reattach it to the upper arm and wear it as an armband instead of bracelet. Some fiddling is needed to fit into place, but I got it how I wanted it, and it is something fun to try with costume/chunkier jewellery styles.

All Wrapped Up
The other day MentalKaos Akina shared – got to give credit where it is due – that not only did Rosary have something in that weekends sales days, but that it was her birthday as well. It is actually an anniversary moment for this great store, and so they are having a SALE for the next few days, so I teleported over and again fell for all her long pieces and beautiful prints, she has a way with colour at Rosary. I thought I was done and then this marvel caught my attention on a back wall. This stunner of a wrap that has such incredible mesh work, is rigged to perfection, and is such a must have in any colour you choose because you can make it work in so many divine ways. I can so see it being worn above a strapless gown, or cocktail dress, but as I am still so cold down here, I wanted to dressy casual it. Using one of the bodysuit bom releases by Nuve to give me extended coverage, and then these footsie leather leggings by Ison.
I really loved the large weaved look of the wool and remembered having a piece of jewellery from Sigma that would definitely compliment that style. It is a marvel of mesh work as well, and the two together are just bliss. This recentish release of hair is from Monso, and while I first tried a shorter bobbed look, it was this messy high pony that just suited so well. I wanted darker roots, but the grey with roots was just a little lighter than I wanted, so to the tint panel I went and adding a touch of grey, it came up perfectly. I love this hair, all these pulled out tendrils, cascading down and making it look as though no effort was made, but knowing that is a challenge in itself to get hair to look not overly worked. Some more detailed mesh work in these shoes that I needed a coach to learn to walk in – I am teasing, but seriously they are so high and fabulous. Cult does some incredible footwear, and I love the bow ties look at the front, so cute.

Entrancing
I like this word ^ the title word, a lot. Because it can be two things, the meaning of the word, and the idea of making an entrance, which if you do well, is the meaning of the word. I put on this top by Cynful and while it does have a graphics overlay option, it is the without that really makes an impact for me, while as a set release it is very casual summer fun, worn alone it can be so much more. The straight line of the bodice, and those straps, gives me all the feelings of a Princess, and then you have the nod to corsetry with the sides being laced and tied off.
I was actually chatting to its creator Cynthia for a long catch up, and ended up changing my colours about 8 times, because the colour options are all shades of fabulous. I will have to save some for another look, but this soft blueish grey won me over in the end, I don’t wear blue enough. This leads me to how cool it is that Cynful now sells their clothing not in single packs but four colour packs, for the same price that used to be single colours. The newer releases are sold by body type, but as most of us only wear one body for the majority of the time, this means you win in colour options, so fun. With the shoes I have on, the gorgeous shoes by Utopia Design, they give you these wonderful preset colour combinations, then the ability to select the section of the shoes and then apply the texture you like, but then you also have the chance to go to a tinting tab, select the section you want and colour match it as needed, which worked out perfectly for me, to get this very similar match to the top.
The skirt by Rowne of which I have a few, is glorious not only because of its shape and style, but that it was created with shoe shapes in mind, obviously you will have to wear high heels with it, but I just love how it swerves at the back to take on that heel shape, extra details for the win. The beautiful jewellery and hairpins are by Sigma and add some really classy elements to the look, with HUD options that make it really easy to get the outcome you want.
Speaking of so excellent things, James&Dew just released an incredible set called the Neon Threads set…it is a fantastic PBR Clothing rack that you can then decorate with their neon coat hangers and hanging clothing, which has such a great look, so far I think everyone wants the dresses to wear. Once I rezzed the hangers though I knew I wanted them on the wall. When I set them up they gave off such a vibe of going to some kind of fashion awards and standing on the red carpet to have your picture taken before you go in. You can turn on or off the neon lights and you get a selection of great colours to choose from for the neon, it looks so wonderful, that I kind of want to create all sorts of things with them. I love that about James&Dew stuff, even though they do a hell of a lot of thinking about their creations, and how they want them to be, they open up the idea of you wanting them to be even more, and it is always achievable, they are like providers of possibilities.

Hips don’t lie
I have had this belted corset look for a while now, and am a huge fan of it. I often wear the brown belts with gold, just because it stands out so much, but decided that the black and silver was a fun mix today also. The set is all included and actually also comes with a hot choker that I have worn in the past. I wanted to try my hand at mixing stores though, which of course with something like this, was not so easy…the world of fashion in Second Life has definitely changed over the past few years, but what made me laugh is that while a lot of clothing has become more revealing, dresses, tops etc, pants seem to have gone in the other direction, with a lot of pants being higher waisted or just regular fit, and that is hilarious to me, seeing that a billion years ago now pants were getting so low that I had to do a whole post on pubic hair on skins, because the pants were getting so low, everything was falling out…which actually did lead to a change in how skinners did their skins. So I did some thinking, and I thought to myself, I thought ‘SELF! Who will still have some really low rise hip hugging jeans for me to wear with this belted corset’, and myself said “TO CYNFUL”. This actually did happen, and off I went.
I remember Cynfuls first releases, they were also denim items, and I mention that to Cynthia at least every five years or so. I probably still have them. I also remember she did some denim corsets over jeans like extensions, I need to find those, even though system layers I am on a mission now. So anyway, to Cynful I went and I saw that the Keeper jeans had been updated to include the body I wear now, but to also have the Slink Hourglass (and many others) I go back to, so that is a huge win for me, because I get to have for both. The jeans fit perfectly under the belted corset, as I knew they would, and there is a cute metal belt on them, but that has a toggle on/off switch and can be changed colour wise even if you buy the single colour of jeans. I was also able to change the button on the jeans so it was black not brass, which helped with my monochromatic look. The top is part of the Sega set too (as is the belt) and I have worn it a few times now, because the fatpack has solid colours as well as graphics, and it is just so versatile and pretty the way it drapes, it is also of course made to fit the belt.
ADE has released this beautiful style of hair with its face framing layers at the front look. I like it because it reminds me of both layer cuts and growing out your bangs looks. It also has left, right and behind the shoulders looks, which we all know is my favourite, and I did start out that way, but decided to go with forward of the body this time, so you see more of the length and how well it fits across the chest, as there are many sizes to choose from.

Pinned
It is not news that I love hair, and all things hair related…so when Truth added some unrigged hairpins, and they are in fact PINS! to his Element style, I was having to control myself from looking like someone who would never make it through an airport. So while you may think to yourself, I have that hair, why is it different, that is why, because I added two of these awesome pin pins to the upper buns. I also had to control myself from doing a full montage to this hair, because it comes in options that are just too fantastic. This style version is fun and me piling on, but there is also a version where you can turn off the gold beading and pins, and it just has tendrils, then there is the no tendrils version and then OMG seriously, there is one with the same bunch twists, but without the fluffy ends, so its like you twisted eternity twists onto your hair, and it looks so elegant and so fun at the same time, I will be definitely wearing that in the future. There are metal colour options on the HUD as well, but for once I was feeling the Gold, usually I am a Silver girl by habit, but lately there have been some really nice gold feelings.
I knew what I wanted to wear with it, as soon as I put it on, I had been saving this sweater corset top for ages, and the Pins that are so Punk adjacent, made me want to represent the home of Punk for many of us mindset wise. While it did not necessarily start there, they definitely made it their own in London, and Trafalgar Square in the 80’s was a sight to see. This top by Fio’s is wild, not only is the concept of a hoodie being corseted the coolest thing, but the ability to change the colour of the detailing, just adds so much more. I was originally going to be all red white and blue, but then saw that the pink really worked. This sweater also has other non print options you can buy, so if not feeling the “London” like I was, then a plain colour may just be your best thing.
Throwing on some Impressionist make up by AlaskaMetro, seriously this set is a must have, I am so in love with the lipstick, I wish sometimes she would do expansions on her sets, like give me this same lipstick but in a whole lipstick range. The eyeshadow, the glitter, it is all too fabulous. Then some chunky rings by Kunglers, and the mix is just too fun.

What is in a name – Content edition
If this is your first time to a Sasy Talk, then a bit about me. I have always worked in Second Life, behind the scenes for dozens of brands over the years, some publicly, some privately…it depended on the work and how involved it was. So when I see a thing, I often communicate said thing – this means that I have been IM’ing stores about this, but to most of them these days, I am some random person, saying some stuff, so I thought that it may make more sense in this format. Work aside, it also means that I often look at and use my inventory in a high octane way. It is big, not as big as it would be if I actually unpacked things…but big none the less. I also have multiple bodies, I am not a body changer on the fly type of person, I just happen to have a few. But I only recently – the last year or so, changed from my Slink bodies to eBody Reborn. I go back to Slink often, but when I am out shopping these days, I am buying items that include eBody Reborn in them, I also tend to make sure that what I am buying has at least one other body I own included, that way I am covered if I change.
Coming from nearly a decade of one body, to another is tough, I empathise with all in that, but what some tend to not understand, is not only do you potentially feel out of sorts with your new look, you end up very disconnected from your inventory. I have over 400 thousand items in my inventory (I have deleted as much over the years, on the beta grid I have over 650K) and in the past, regardless of the day, the mood, the weather, I knew what I wanted to wear, who made it, what colours I had, and very often where to find it in my inventory. Even if I had not ‘put it away’. Now, because of that disconnect, I use the inventory search function to find something to wear. I buy things, but I am not as invested in them as I used to be, probably because I have not taken them to the posestand for a post as soon as purchased, like often was the case in the past. This means that I type in search…Reborn + Dress or Reborn + Top/Pants and sometimes Reborn + Pants + olive etc. All my Bom underwear is easy, that is in my favourite wearables. But right now, as I am learning what I like, what I love, what I need, that is how I am doing it. That is the main reason for this post.
The other day I did a video, and in the video I mentioned ‘do not change peoples logos’ it was a whole thing in my head, but my words in the video were milder. What has also always been a thing that creators do, is they play around with wording. Slink Hourglass ending up HG was due to the length of it more than anything, and while it was upsetting, you could search Hourglass or HG, but the Slink component was gone. I see the same with other things, Belleza ended up just being Freya or Isis and so on, but you learn and it makes sense. But knowing your body history is very very important also. Even though alas the brand identity is gone, most people will refer to bodies by the body name.
Newer creators and even newer residents to Second Life, do not always know that there were things before them. So for instance if you were to now just say Belleza in a product, which Belleza would you be referring to? The three bodies prior or the newer GenX bodies? Such is also the case for eBody Reborn. eBody had bodies before Reborn, and they may have more bodies in the future, who knows, but lately I see items that are saying the fit they include is eBody, and they do not say Reborn at all, but it is a new release, so chances are they mean Reborn right? But what happens 5 months from now, when it is further along in the store, and someone sees it fits eBody, and they own Reborn, do they just walk past it believing it to be old? That is one of the hazards of Second Life content. Age is not communicated. You can still see items in stores or on marketplace that still contain Sculpties, and some of you may not even know what a sculptie is, if you joined Second Life since November 2011 that may never have been your world, but it can mean that even now, you could buy something that is useless to you. To think that we have now had Mesh longer in Second Life than we didn’t is amazing.
So when you are creating for a particular type of body, it is important to list that body in the name of the item, not only because it is the right thing to do for someone to know it fits, but if you don’t, if you create some random way of communicating – eb-r , eBodyR, Reb, eBody, (r) < I have seen all of those – and there are more I am sure, then not only could a customer just not even try the items on, and potentially just assume it won’t fit them, but if they do try it, realise it does fit, it ends up never appearing in search in inventory, so then never gets worn, and while you may think ‘so what, the money was paid’ it means that the customer is not wearing it, not loving it, and not seeking out your brand in future for more purchases, you end up lost to them…you also miss out on the opportunity of someone else seeing them in it and wanting it, and tralalaling to your store to also buy it.
Now you may be thinking, “well “Sasy you could also search the eBody search term’, but that brings me back to the first point…there existed a previous eBody body (two if memory serves), so if I do search that, and I do, do not worry, it brings up loads of things that then don’t fit this one, because they were made for the previous one/s. All of these examples can be swapped out for other bodies too, as I said this is not just an eBody Reborn, situation, it is across most of the bodies, and not only if they have had previous types. I once saw it done by just the first letter, but not consistently, it was done with some brands being the brands first initial and some the body names first initial, and when I unpacked I thought that the folder was full of standard sizing, because there was an S and an L and and a B (it was the B that made me realise what was happening) again us older residents have a whole history of ways things are done.
I understand character limits, if your own store name is long, then the name of the item is long, and then if you sell by colour that is long, which also adds in the word fatpack also long, it becomes difficult. The ability to put it all out there is tough, I also know that often it is how people name stuff on their pc, and it is how it is uploaded, and it does not get changed – much like attach to right hand. I also know that because items predominantly are no mod, this means the end user also cannot change it to be the name they want. So perhaps if nothing else is possible, please throw in a notecard that has a title with the proper wording if impossible to put on the item, so that at least the notecard can come up when searching, and cause the end user to perhaps investigate further. Just to clarify, nothing worn in todays post was not doing it right, in fact Ison goes so far as to put eBody and Reborn in there, just in case, Harry has you covered! He is also having a sale for a few days currently, so get on over there and get your shop on.
Then pop over to The Vault event, they have a lot of fabulous accessories items for you to enjoy, the ones I am wearing in this post are so great. The Sunglasses are a kind of steampunk style, that have so many options of customising, they are gorgeous and while they are meant to protect my eyes, I could not resist perching them on my head. They really look great against the striking style of Lamb Hair I am wearing in today post, and anyone that knows me, knows that I am all about the behind the shoulders options of a style hud, this has that, but as it was such a lovely long style, I wanted you to see that with the over one shoulder option, it has either shoulder, behind back and both forward, with two bangs choices, and how cute is this pink. I actually started out red and black today, and ended up pink and grey, I love Second Life for fun changes like that. This journal also is just adorable, and has a whole lot of colour combos. I wish you could change the strap separately, but it is still a must have item IMO. It is really beautifully detailed with smaller books sewn into the leather and hand stitched, they pulled off that so well. How am I paying for it all you may ask, well with my plastic money of course, another fun item from The Vault and comes as hand holds or a mouth-able, if the other things are hold-ables, makes sense it would be a mouth-able right?
You can see more great Blogger looks for The Vault HERE and visit the event HERE.

Second Life – Inventory Image Feature Tutorial – Part 1
I have had this as a to do post since the day it went live, I use it, talk about it often but had not gotten the kick in the pants that I needed to make that happen. That was until group chat opened in the Blueberry VIP group the other day, and the lovely Ines was mentioning how she organises her inventory and outfits…and went on to mention that the 10L upload fee for the images needed was worth it.
So of course this lead to me having something to say. I respectfully – I hope – interrupted and let her know that due to the “Newish” Second Life feature of ‘Image/s’ you could do the same job at no cost. A hush fell over the group…or lag, one or the other, but I like to be a bit dramatic. Then others mentioned that they did not know of this great new feature, and to tell them more…waves to Ines, Trista, Trinket and Hikari. All lovely Blueberry Group members – I really hope I say their names correctly in the video. So I did a quick and dirty GIF and explained the method and told them that I would do a post on this, as it had been burning a hole in my Blog to do list – that is actually a thing I have.
So I have done a video, where yet again I am out of practice talking to my own avatar – you would think I would have the talking down pat, because I do tend to talk paint off of a wall, but it is the not scripting myself and thinking ten other things about what I am doing in the moment that throws me, so apologies for the occasional trip of the tongue.
