First some announcements. Erratic is having a huge sale 50% off at their NEW main-store, so be sure to check that out. Then there are some new changes to SL, first off with particles and then some AO changes… this is scripty kind of info, and you can read more about it on the Nalates Things & Stuff blog HERE. Hair Fair Designer Applications are open now, and will be up until 31st of March, don’t delay on getting those in. Another bit of news, this is outside of Second Life, but a wonderful project by the talented Maddox Dupont of KMADD…he has started a website for health and well-being called Benevolent Ways, so if you are into good things, and treating yourself right, make sure and check it out.

Now onto the post. The skin I am wearing is a Skin Fair release Vanina, by Anymore skins. The skin is lovely, and comes with different facial features. The first being freckles, then teeth and then an open mouth option that allows for you to wear prim teeth and actually have some shading for an opening (not shown). They all come with freckles options, and cleavage on and regular shading options. The skin is very lovely and a great default go to skin, so demo demo demo.  You get a better look at the body with the pics of the new Jolie lingerie by Izzies. This is a stunning lingerie set, with many layers and you can wear with or without the garters option.

Clothing on, I am wearing the divine memoires pencil skirt by Indyra Originals. This skirt is really stunning and looks great with loose tops or tight fitting tucked in looks. The tops I went with are the recently released Dakota top by Maitreya, I had shown it with the tiger print in the past, but this chiffon version is beautiful. Then for the tucked in look I went with the much older turtleneck savoir top also from Maitreya. This is often a go to for me for this kind of look, and always stands up time wise.

The other lovely top is the Elyse top by Tee*fy, this is available at Collabor88 and comes in some really pretty colours. The hair I am wearing is also at Collabor88 from LaViere the other brand the talented Azure Electricteeth owns. I really like the softness of this hair, it is a bob length but has a somewhat older style look to it.

The boots I am wearing are also new and really beautiful leather ankle boots. The reptile leather is really great, and there are three pairs that have a soft colour block look with them being on special at a reduced VIP price for the first month, so be sure to check those out. The boots come with a HUD to make resizing a breeze if needed on the unrigged versions, and they also come in standard sizing sizes as well, so you are well and truly catered to.

The accessories worn around the neck are the lovely bow scarf by Yummy, that I have actually tinted black, but is available in many beautiful soft colours as well as floral, and the charming vintage camera necklace that has a diamond where the lens would be, so pretty and I did mod the bow on that to red to match my look, but it has a scripted menu option for softer colours. Today I am Gogo, well partially at least, I should have perhaps worn pink and had blonde hair to be more like her awesome self. But all joking aside – the part about being her, not her awesomeness – I am wearing the NEW Gogo skin by Deetalez. This is a release only available at Skin Fair 2013 and the skin is just lovely. I really like the maturity of the face, the body details, and the tone options are all really nice. The skins also come with tango appliers which are really well done.

The skin also includes four lip options, black, brown and red brow options, covers for nails so you can wear prim ones, freckles in different strengths. There are also 5 make up options and cleavage adjustment layers. Now the only thing that I didn’t like, is that the skin is not shaved as default, but does include a layer to cover that. Personally I think that with all the low cut clothing, it is better to have shaved as default, then if you must have hair down there, then you can use one of the layer options…otherwise you are using a layer unnecessarily.

Make sure you check it out for yourself and demo demo demo. The pants I am wearing in this post are from collabor88 and a release by Elate, I am loving the items coming from Elate since her return to SL, and these pants are just so lovely to wear. They come with flats and heels options, and the colours – shown in the pic – are just wonderful.

I really fell in love with the Deck shoes by G*filed, not only because they are perfect flats, but also because the options are amazing, it is just deciding which pack you will want, if not all, because the colours are great. Then the hud allows you to change so many parts of them so you end up with so many looks. So the whole look ended up all nautical red, white and blue like. The top is from Eaters Coma, and is a slashed tank which just brings lots of focus to the body, and is really fun to wear.

The hair I am wearing is by .B which is a line from Analog Dog, which has been releasing some great mesh hair lately, and this rockabilly type braid is just fun and sexy, and the hairbases are free in the store, but also come included in the style.

First off Hair Fair Designer applications have started, so for those that have been waiting go HERE…and sign up for July. There are already over 60 stores signed up, so if you know anyone that has been making hair that was wanting to be part of it, let them know.

Now about another fair, Skin Fair 2013 as I have been posting on this past week, has got some great mesh heads featured. This one is by Snow Rabbit, which is a darling youthful face that has incredible animated facial movement that makes you just fall in love with your avatar all over again.  Now the lovely and oh so cute GoGo did a post on this hybrid avatar at her JuicyBomb blog, so you can see the great video she did of the animated face.

The Nea hybrid comes with the skin, which has a cleavage option, and is very very cleavagey for the sweet and innocent looking face. It also includes two HUDs, one is a mini hud that allows for the basic of functions, and the other is more detailed. The HUDs activate drop down menus for the different make-ups and other features of the head. You can also control whether the eyes are open or closed, and whether the mouth stays closed or goes through the animations. There is also a tears option that has a single tear run down the face and is very moving.

The head has a full bright option that is not going to work too well if you go through the hours of the day with your light settings, but you can turn that off by wearing the light in the folder, then using the light button on the hud and turning it off. The ears are also separate, and one ear actually was inside the head for me, but as it is a separate modifiable attachment, i was able to edit linked parts and move that one ear out. This also makes it easier if you need to remove your ears for closer to the head hairstyles.

The head unlike others I have worn, also includes the neck and collarbone area of the body. This may cause some issues depending on the kind of clothing you wear, but if you are a mesh wearer you should be fine, just try some of your favourite clothes with the demo so you are sure before purchase.

The wonderful location I am shooting in today is the Treehouse Cottage that is by Trompe Loeil for Collabor88 this month. The tree house not only is a stunning build, but it even comes with the tree. The inside has a spacious enough living area, and then two loft like areas which I used as an office space and bedroom. All of the furniture pieces are by different creators, and most can also be found at Collabor88. The other Trompe Loeil items are the chandeliers made with mason jars, and they are just amazing. You will want them in every home.

The bedroom set is by Pilot, and other than the colours and style being just perfect, I was very happy to find that it was modifiable size wise, so I was able to bring it down to a more satisfactory and realistic size. While the lamp beside it I made larger as a floor lamp.

The clothing I am wearing is by One Bad Pixel, and it was a surprise to see that they were doing a release at all, with one of the partners traveling the world. The sweater blouses come with a hud that allows for change of shirt colour, belt colour and striped shirts options…that is a lot of bang for your buck. The sweaters are available in either cable knit or chenille and I showed both in the main pic so you can see which one you prefer. I am wearing them with their new bootcut  jeans, and if you already loved their past jeans releases, these are just more to love. They fit perfectly over the wedge heel shoes by G*field that also have hud options for the trim and heels base, and I made them navy trim to tie in with all that blue.

Lastly the incredible floral headpiece by BOOM that is at The Arcade as a gatcha item you must get, this thing is just stunning. I can see needing a few hits at this, as the colours available are superb, and you will just want to give them as gifts as well.

More Skin Fair delights with the Anais skin by Glance. I have put this one and taken it off so many times in the last few weeks, just besotted by how it transformed my usual shape into something else. But then the longer I look, the more I see me in there as well. Very good work by the skin creator of Glance to achieve such a mix of the two. For those that have pined over Glance skins in the past, and been secretly longing for more tones, this release starts the New Year of Glance tones, literally.

The New skin tones will be named after months of the year, and with the lighter more Caucasian tones being the first 6 months and the more ethnic in the last 6. I did a mix for the main shot, and used August for the face shots. You get 10 shadows, 10 glossy lips and 10 matte lips with the skin, as well as no brows, black brows and brown brows. Then of course on top of that you get cleavage options, and these skins also will have appliers available to purchase, so this is definitely a great change for Glance.

The perfect dress for me for this post is the new Bodowa dress by SySy’s. I love the split colours, the shape and the slinky kind of feel it gives when worn. The dress is available in three different types, black/colour, white/colour and combo’s…I am showing my faves of each, but honestly, the combos are my personal favourite pack.

The jewellery worn today are a mix of old and new. The old being the stone chip set from Logo, in the aquamarine. This is actually my birth stone, so I purposely wore it, and just loved the set instantly when it was released because it has that almost shell like look to it that is so popular down here. The Atiriya set is from Zaara, and comes with silver or gold options, the gold of course working so well in the onyx with the black and gold dress. Lastly the Copacetic Tallulah Necklace, of which not only is it a beautiful necklace, and comes in all different strand types – I am wearing the grouped – by Gossamer Jewellery at C88, but the name is just a hoot and a half.

When you get to Skin Fair 2013 – which opened today – and you will, there is a Must Have in the form of tattoo layers. In past fairs, I have purchased from Nuuna’s the tribal like face tattoos, and just love them. These eyebrow tattoos blew me away. I love the fun, and fierceness of them, how much they totally add to a look. They really show how much eyebrows play an important role in expressing our feelings, the ones towards the end made me look like I was about to burst into tears. You get 22 brows in the set and the price is fabulous, so make sure you check them out, there are demos, so you can play around with them, and some even look funna wearing two at once.

Now the other Nuuna’s item is the Kati Skin. This skin is not only beautiful, and an incredible price, but has so many options I could have been at it all night. You get the skin with and without cleavage, with no brows. Now that is my only wish for this skin is that there was a skin base with brows already on, because with all the tattoo layers I was running out of layers. But you get black brows, tintable brows and eyelashes on layers. Then you have many blush options, that are also tintable, as you can see in the last pic I made one black. Then you get a great choice of lipsticks, only some shown, and those incredible smokey eyes. Then there are three different eyeliners, and on top of that you get the Lola’s skin appliers included as well. HUGE amount of goodies, and the skin is just beautiful.

The Fashion for Life event is still going on, and the blouse and clutch I am wearing in this post are part of that event, by Countdown. I really like this shirt/bodysuit as it has a kind of mix of old and new charm. It did come with a collar as well, but I liked leaving it with more of a mandarin collar look instead. I wore it with the Nikka skirt from Celoe, that has a fishtail back that I just adore, so the two combined just make for a very feminine look.

The shoes I am wearing are the new Athena pumps by Baiastice, these are fabulous platforms, with a great height, and with he gold insert at the toe and heel it gives them a very classy look.

Some great things going on and yet to come, the yet to come of course is the Skin Fair about to start March 15th until the 31st, jam packed full of great stores. Today I am featuring LoOmi, this skin Piper is just beautiful. I love the mouth shape, I do wish there was a no teeth option though, but only as an option, because I do think the teeth are adorable too. The make ups are from very natural to vintage sexy, and all in between. I think these are a must have for anyone that really likes a fresh and youthful face, but without looking too young, more fit and fabulous.

Make sure you check out the demos, either from the group you can join, or just go the first time grab all the demos you can, go home try it all on, and then go back at your leisure with a list.

Fashion For Life is going strong, as it does every year, and I decided to merge some FFL items with some items from the store as well. The Pink Outfitters items that are at FFL are the shorts and tank top. The shorts are really cute, and a fantastic fit. I really like the silver pair the best. The tank top fits really well over the top of them, but it was a great pleasure to see that the boxy cardigan from Baiastice fit well over the top of that too.

The halter somewhat futuristic looking bustier top is sexy as all get out, and I love the strapping, and the fit was spot on, you need all of these in your life, and more, more colours, more more more. This kind of top could even bring some old system strapless dresses back to life I would think, worth a try at least.

One very noticeable thing about Pink Outfitters/House of London, is that they actually model in their wrinkles into the items. That is a daring approach, as it means rigging is even more involved, and that it might not always work layering, but they have nailed it. As you can see in the pink the creases and excess of the tank at the back, is the same top I am wearing under the cardigan and I didn’t even have to go up a size to have it fit perfectly.

It also looks superb in the gorgeous dress. This dress has two belt options, one silver and one gold – as shown. Even more exciting was that the bag by LaGyo for The Arcade, was the same blue, and the heels by Baiastice also same blue with gold trim….I love that, because often it is hard to mix pallettes of different designers when such rich colours.

All the fabulous hairstyles are from Wasabi Pills, and they are from her store, the Whore Couture Fair, as well as FaMESHed, so you get to spin all over the grid for hair love.

It is a time for a lot of yahoo’s and other cheer like sounds. First reason for me is that Elymode has come back from having a long break from creating, and come back strong. The Starlight dress is the first ‘official’ store release, and the options are amazing. Not only can you change the skirt, bow and waist of the dress with the wonderful hud, there are 25 colours to choose from. Then you also have the base colours, five of them to choose from, depending on which pack style you go with. So with the accent options and the base options, you can either go all contrasty, or all in one the same as I have shown.  The other newish item is the store release of the Sydney separates, now I have only seen a few colours in these, and couldn’t resist grabbing this colour skirt, but I do hope that there will be more, because the style is so sexy, and the aboriginal art is just spot on and subtle for this look, I love it.

Other cheer-worthy news is that Maitreya has also done a release, and this amazing Dakota top with the tiger print is just one of the sexy styles available. I really love the one shoulder strap look of it, with the oversized style and the side strings that show its been pulled in at the waist. The new releases for Maitreya are some mix and match items, as well as a dress version of the Dakota style. I will be showing more in the future, so stay tuned.

Everything is building up to this weekend, with the Skin Fair starting on the 15th. This event will be on two sims, with a great selection of skin creators. I visited the event for a sneak peak last night, and it was very easy to navigate, and I can see spending time going back and forth not being too much trouble. They will also be sending demos out through their group on the day before it opens, so look out for that info.

The first brand I am featuring from Skin Fair is Adam n Eve, they are releasing three skins for the event, Maha, Bethany and Isabella, and all three are just lovely and will definitely be worth trying on your own shapes. They all come with six make up options, brows, breast layers, dimples, hairbases and glove layers to hide nails so you can wear fake nails easily. There is a difference between all three skins in the face, so you will definitely have to choose which you like best.

All the hair I am wearing is by eep, a new to me store that Aranel of Boom told me about the other day. For a NEW hair store their first mesh styles are great, they are also available on marketplace, but you can find them next door to Boom at the existance sim too.

I was able to get over to this years Fashion For Life, the annual event that raises donations for Relay for Life. This is a 9 sim event, so you will need to make sure you have plenty of time, or spread the event out over as many days. It starts today, and the celebrators and organisers look to be already having a fun time over on one of the adjoining sims.

This year they have combined the works of many of SL’s artists, such as Bryn Oh, with the building of this event, so each build seems to have been done by a separate creator. Also as you can see, there is definitely a theme running throughout, and as someone who has spent a lot of time in games lately, it was kind of mixed reality for me…I kept imagining I was supposed to hand in a quest to someone.

I remember the first ever Fashion for Life, and I had done a post on how they had no railings along their molten lava pools, so I kept falling in, and the very next day I got an IM from the organiser and they had put some in. This made me of course wonder about the incredibly large statue build on one of the sims, that actually houses some stores. The statue is amazing, and so tall, and I just love the idea of it, but for an event that is going to generate hundreds of visitors at once, with lag and the such, I do think that it might be more of a cam from the ground experience for some…there are also no safety rails, and I tend to scream in RL when I fall in SL. I also get motion sick and all that winding around, I would be done in for sure.

I do wish I had gotten to spend more time over there, but I did want to get pics done and get this post up. I am sure I will end up visiting again, because I am really more intrigued by the nooks and crannys of everything, wanting to see actual set ups, and of course visit the stores, as that is what the event is for. The event organising has been done by a different group this year, Frolic Mills and his team have been working day and night, and posting notices to keep everyone aware of everything for weeks now, so I do hope they get some time to enjoy the event once it is open.

Congratulations to all that are participating in Fashion For Life, it is a huge undertaking each year to co-ordinate, I look forward to seeing more about it.

I had the pleasure of SySy’s company yesterday in the air over in the sim next door to The Arcade. That is right, if you have been living under a rock the past few days, the long awaited return of this Gatcha event is back, and back strong. The sim has been full to overflowing for days since its opening, and it is no wonder with dozens of stores participating, more than actual avatars allowed on the sim. I do love the placement of the event though, you really do get to take advantage of the surrounding sims air space and the handy draw distance options we have in our viewers. Do make sure to uncheck the limit select distance option in advanced settings when you do though, otherwise nothing will work for you, and you may think it is because you are too far away.

While there I was lucky enough to get this adorable Doll Head by Fashionably Dead in the rare bunny option first go. Now I was totally stoked with whatever I was going to get, but I will totally admit to being even more impressed at the options. This head doesn’t just come as is, you get tone options, brow options and eye colour options, when you click on it and choose appearance from the menu. This is great, as it can help you get closer to a skin tone you have, as skin is not included. I did however just fall for the big beautiful dark brown eyes, so left them as the default, but do play around with it, and even if you get the same one as your friends, now you know you can still be different.

Another great thing, was that the ears also change colour or texture, so I went with the black to match my new Hathaway hair by Tableau Vivant for Collabor88 this round. This hair is a nice short style, that would actually suit males as well, and defnitely be cute on some little ones I am sure. The hair is n0 mod, which I found surprising with unrigged mesh, but you can use the resizer to get a better fit, I just hit plus 10 a few times to get it big enough for my Doll Head. Now a good bunny knows that plants and flowers aren’t just food sources, but can be charming accessories, such as this lovely floral headpiece by Glam Affair, also a C88 item. It is available in various colours, but as soon as I saw the beautiful lace top in white, I was sold on a black and white look.

The lace top is actually a top that goes over a lovely floral dress by Nylon Outfitters, also at C88. The only problem for me, is that the dress only has two sizes for the mesh portion of the dress, and the small was not small enough for my shape. I do recommend trying it though as it is a lovely set, but even if it doesn’t fit I would suggest grabbing them just for the lace top part, as well as the floral upper to the dress, as I was able to mod that shorter as well to fit underneath for another time.

For this occasion though, I went with the black bra from Maitreya, which is a bustier style bra top, and then the new BOOM skirts called Minka that are you guessed it, C88 items. Now you cannot really see this skirt, as I am sitting on most of it, but it is a great tiered mini with a bow belt in white around the waist. It is also high-waisted, so you may need to go up a size depending on which standard sizing you use. The fabric that is used for the skirt is a stunning velvet look, so I can see this being a go to skirt for many.

Now the finale of this post is definitely the beautiful new ballerina flats by Tee*fy. These Arden flats come with or without the straps around the ankle, but I cannot imagine why you would want to wear them without, when you can wear them with…of course I do sometimes just like a simple flat, but honestly the straps are adorable. There are 8 great colours to choose from, and they are more of a colour blocked kind of mix, so you will have to just get them all I think.

erare project video

It has been months of work, but finally tomorrow the NEW .erare project will be opened. The erare project is a concept by the founders of LeLutka and Celoe, and will be a permanent fixture at Mayfair – a floating fixture to be precise. Thora Charron has created the first Syren series for erare, and for anyone that has ever wanted to be a mermaid, or for that matter is already a mermaid, this release is not to be missed.

I was lucky enough to get a sneak peak of this amazing collection, and each syren in the series has its own story to tell. These are no ordinary mermaids either, these girls can not only take on an occasional wayward sailor, but a whole battalion would be at their mercy. The syrens, come with everything you see except the skin, but the shine and body layer of colour, is actually a tattoo layer that is included. One is with shine and one without, so you can achieve the desired effect with any skin, even those that are more fantasy like than the regular skin tones.

The hair is incredible, each Syren has hair that goes with the colours of her ensemble, and the hair flows beautifully in water. It also has seaweed through it, that I just love the overall effect of. I have mentioned in the past many times that I am a Pisces, so this release is my bliss for sure. Not only do you get the marvelous, hair, the tail, the fin and bra like top…but there is also a top that leaves the breasts bare, in case you have other needs in that area. Then you have optional flexi pieces for the arms and legs that move so beautifully through the water, as you can see hopefully in the video I shot earlier today.

Thora has thought of everything, for those that are going into this for the first time, there is even a basic Mermaid AO, already allowing for lovely hovers and swims, so that you can start off right, but note that because this is mesh, your own AO’s will still work, so if you have great swims, wonderful hovers and stands you love, they are still all usable. Then also included is a tail HUD. The HUD is designed so that you can change the angle of your tail as needed, so that when using other poses or posestands, you can move it at an angle that may work better with tail. It also has a tail animation, for when you are just idling.

There are 8 Syrens, so you are going to be able to gather up all your friends and make an adventure of it, and with the fantastic abilities people have in Second Life to make things such as this their own, in a unique styling way, there are endless possibilities. Also locations to play with them can be fun to create too. Today I took some above water rocks I had, and sunk them, then grabbed one of the Lotus Water Temples that are perfect for this, and sunk that too, so now I have my own little mermaid home under the sea.
