Moody Monday and all things
I hate how if you don’t follow along with networking sites etc, you can totally miss a new concept, and only be lucky enough to find out about it at the time of the event, that is if you are that lucky.
I must say that today is the first I had heard about Moody Mondays, even though nearly all involved are on my plurk list, and apparently that is where much of it was discussed, but I actually feel sorrier for all those that might only log in on the weekends and on the weekdays ONLY if they know something big is on, because when they find out they missed out on the first Moody Monday and the great 55L items up for grabs they will be Moody for sure lol.
The Bandari fleur set from MOOD is one of the items released for Moody Monday, and at this price for all these pieces it is a MUST HAVE. The blues and silver of the jewelry allow for some great mixing with silvers, white and other blues, especially things like denim. But I opted for the new dress from Perse, which apparently I didn’t know at the time, is also a Moody Monday item but in another colour. Thanks for the heads up on that Rose.
I love the style of this dress, but I did have to peer in close, because I was a bit surprised at first thinking it was sheer in places, I looked decidedly nakey, but it was an optical illusion. The skin worn underneath it though is just beautiful, it is Georgia by YS & YS, another of their great new faces, with lipstick options as an additional purchase, but again their make ups that come with are just divine, DEMO DEMO DEMO.
New wedges from SLink are Mia and they come with leather straps at the edges with can be either brown or black, somehow in all of the pics I completely missed the chocolate pair, so there are actually 8 colours in total, white as well. Easy to match to skin and some great nail and metal options.
The hair I am wearing is Theory, the latest style from Elikatira, so pretty, and another fantastic addition to those that love a great Uppy Do. The lose tendrils and slightly tucked back look are just beautiful, and the textures are so hard to choose from, thank goodness she has that essentials pack that I asked people to start doing years ago because we were pining over the loss of ETD’s ones, thank you Elika for bringing sanity back :P.

Old Store, New Store, 3 Boxes Full Store
Oh what a day of delightfulnessssss. First off a New to me store, with a NEW location and so many things that are just incredibly well made…what a delight. They are also having a special reduction on things later today as well as 3 fabulous HUNT items so easy to find – more info as you read.
Ok so not only did we have the newness, I signed them up for What’s New SL fell in lust and went back again with Whimsy, you can see her post HERE – if it is up yet, she does that time delayed thing. But we also have some awesome new from oldness, hope that they don’t mind being called old.
Surf Co. has a big release about to drop, you will see it scattered throughout the post. Which was perfect timing what with the gorgeous New Monica skins from GLAM Affair, it has both dark and light brows as default, with hairbase options as well as extras on tattoo layers. The skins make up this time around is a mix of both very subtle and deep night time looks…I am a bit enamoured with the baby blue and baby pink look, remember demo demo demo. Showing off skin tones with a new kini is always fun, and the retro inspired and named bikinis by Surf Co. are just awesome. Because of the style and the fuller effect in the bum, they will suit all shapes and sizes. Even those little cuties running all over SL lately…has anyone else noticed that kids are everywhere these days, so cute. There are lots of colours to choose from, more than even shown, so make sure you show some polka dot loving.
Now back up top pic, how sophisticated and divine is this combo. I am all up in love and Happy with Happy, yes that is the name of the store, and it had Whimsy and I right click buying everything in the store. The attention to detailing is incredible, so much so as to even make the inside of the sculpted sleeves a darker shade because it would be. The pants were my first love, and I didn’t pay any attention to the name until I unpacked them and WOOHOO they are called Little Miss Sassy pants lol how cool is that, meant to be I reckon. The fabric chosen, the style and cut, all are marvelous, where has this designer been hiding.
Another item from Happy is the posh wrap top, and it is just so beautiful, the work on it is great, and even though worn casually here with the great new Walkabout denim skirt from Surf Co. it is something that you could wear a long skirt or dressier pants with for a night out, it is just lovely. The shoes I have on are a recent release from Aoharu, and they are funk tastic, the colours complimented everything I am wearing so well, and I just love the shape, colours, textures and ease of tinting the toes to match the skin, I didn’t have to do anything but use one of the presets actually.
Showing the skirts again in the last pic, you can see that you can actually also wear them as stand alone shorts, which is always handy to have, especially to pull on over your bikini. The tops worn are also new Surf Co, and the ruffle detailing on these is pure Emma fabulousness. To get the full effect you will either need a jacket layer, or shirt and pants layer, so lucky her skirts come on the underpants layers too, so that I was able to wear the Preppy Cardigan from Happy over the tank from Surf Co over the skirt also from Surf Co…….layers make my world go arounddddddddddddd.
Ok he hasn’t been on all day my time that I have seen, but all during the pic taking for this post I wanted to IM Kavar of Exile and go OMG I LOVE IT. Not only is the hair fantastic, especially the second and third styles, even though I love tempest, it is the styles shown after that worked in such harmony. Exile last week released FOR FREE their whole colour pack of hair base tattoos…so now when fitting your hair, which I don’t need to do much of with Exile if ever, the layers just add a delicious hairline to the mix and with the Sasha OMG so amazing. Sasha is like the Lioness of hair, and yes I am fully aware that Lionesses don’t have manes but if they did THIS WOULD BE IT.
Finishing all the looks off I am wearing MOOD Jewelry, the work of MOOD has seriously improved since it’s opening, and I love that the pieces are both stylish and fashionable, with that added oomph of a really well put together appeal. Every release lately has been incredibly unique, and that says a lot about a jeweler in SL, because the norm is safe, but stylised pieces really help the customer stand out from a crowd.

What is going on with group notices and offlines lately ? I am starting to think that any group that was joined after the 25 doesn’t actually register. I get the offline emails, and then log in to nothing, is this just me? It is funny that for so many years we have begged for more groups, and yet most that I know haven’t even maxed out the new ones given, I know I haven’t. They are definitely going to be handy this year for Hair Fair though, as long as they work properly that is…every year I have to leave about four groups for the duration, so this year was really nice to add too without leaving some first.
Gala has created a new skin, her name is Meadow, and that is such a lovely soft fresh name for this skin. The make ups are minimal and no overly glossy lips for Meadow, she is simplistic and a lovely backdrop to some colourful clothing that will be all over the place soon. I went with some neutrals today though, having loved the make ups, and the colours available to me both shoes and clothing wise.
First off the skirt from Fishy Strawberry, when I saw Fae wearing this skirt before its release I was WOAH that is so swishy and prettyful. It ended up even more delightful to wear, the colours are divine, and the nude and peach ones just worked so well for this post for me. Elikatira has released Rythm, a beautiful french twist that Elika has been working on and half finished for a while now, but finally it got done and it is now a stunning up do for work, play or dressier events.
In the pics of the skins faces I didn’t wear brow tattoos, but did so for the close up and the full body shots, Gala has included some great colour choices for brows and the chestnut and Ginger brows go great with the rich browns and carrot reds of Elikatira hair. I said last week I could totally live and love in LeLutkas accessories section, and the Saggy Bag is a Must Have, but look out for some insanely gorgeous bags coming soon.
The last but not least item to drool over – but please drool on your own feet and not mine, coz ewwww – the lace up boots from Anexx are so adorable. The suede leather look, the wrapped hell, the baby pink insert on all colours, I mean where does the love end and the omg start. So cute, and I can totally see these in some movie where the fashionable main actress gets asked out hiking by the ruggedly handsome main actor and turns up in these, not exactly practical but soooo fashion.

Suddenly 23 Again
It was Whimsy Winx’s Birthday this week, she has turned 23 again, and as soon as I saw these shoes I knew that we were going to be twins of the feet for a few days at least. I hate waking up to news you don’t expect, it’s like hitting the sidewalk with your face.You say as many cusswords as you can, and then by the time you shake it off you realise that a whole gaggle of nuns or something was standing right near where you fell. Oh yeah I cuss, it is funny how people assume I don’t because I don’t in my blog, I just can’t naturally do that, it is odd I guess, but in this box for text I am automatically geared for censorship.
Not sure if you know this, many do, so I wont go on and on about it, but the two designers I am featuring today are cousins, real life ones actually…which is very cool. One started designing in SL years ago, the other only recently, but she had a good mentor, and a ready made friends list…an awesome way to enter SL I would think. The first store is SySy Designs, and the dress I am wearing is called Ayla Spring dress, and Ayla is the name of the second cousin – aren’t I tricky, or they are lol.
The Ayla spring dress is just lovely, and the texture on it and the design overall reminds me of the movie Suddenly 30, if you have seen it you will remember the very first dress she puts on once she turns, is similar in length and design, and definitely has that swish around the thighs you have to be careful with. It comes in such pretty colours, but I loved the green and the fact that the yellow had green elements to it. So adding some beautiful accents in accessories from both Essentia and Mood.
The second item is the Maretch Gown by Ayla’s this is a lovely gown, with transparent insert into the torso area, and also exposing the underside of the breast. Revealing without revealing anything, I like that in a dress, an illusion of naughty, that can make the wearers admirers wanting more. The shirt and pants and undershirt and underpants line up on this dress, but if wanting to wear the jacket layer you need to modify the pants, that is all explained though in the note card…me personally would have thought faster to make another pants layer and do the adjustment and name it for jacket in the time it takes to write a note card lol, but different strokes etc. It does also give you the opportunity to go glitch pantyless and wear panties, or none, because the prims and lower portion of the jacket actually do cover up everything.
We know I have this hat thing, that OMG why can’t I find a great hat anxieties I get from time to time in SL, but one day on hunting, Newdoll, Whimsy and I found Lode, and I scooped up a few cute ones. Worn atop one of the two newer styles from Clawtooth by Clawtooth they are just wonderful, one thing that is so evident in Clawtooth by Clawtooth hair is that it is thick wavey hair, no matter what the style it is thick, and even though I have fine hair, I have an abundance of it in RL, so these two styles so remind me of when you get your hair cut and the hairdresser grabs two thick handfuls of it and brings them forwards to see the evenness of the length at the front, and it smooshes out at the sides.
The new SLink shoes are fierce, again a high high heel but the support across the bottom making it a wedge structure with a stilleto look is awesome. The hud allows for easy texture matching to your own skins, and the nails are so pretty…lots of colours and the price is great for the fat pack.

I have worn this dress all night and had so many compliments. We have had an awesome week of just hanging out with friends, that and boob and bum bouncing of course because the physics thing is just still too funna.
The dress is Dolly Disco by Ivalde, and it is all disco and more, the slinky and seductive lines of this dress are perfect, a system skirt lover like myself is in heaven. I went with some great heels from Elikatira to help with the dancing till dawn, the sturdy heel of these shoes is a definite plus, not only for dancing, but they have that sexy librarian thing going on as well.
I am wearing the new Alice skin from YS & YS, such beautiful make ups as usual, the 14 different skins come with so many tattoo layer options, lashes, breasts, brow colours and freckles, as well sold seperately you can buy even more lipsticks. The eyeshadows and liners on these skins are just fab, so having more lippy options is awesome…demo demo demo

Ok so this is going to have to be short and sweet, because I am typing in the dark, while watching everyones body parts bounce due to the new development viewers physics options, and listening to Mel and Emma take turns at trying to pick up people at _______. I got a chance to do the bloggers challenge put forth by It’s Only Fashion to commemorate all the wonderful things that Achariya brought to blogging over the years.
The clothing in the first two pics are from MichaMi, the pants are soft and delightful to wear, and I just love love love the leather dress, so much more even because it looks fabulous with the new J’s shoes. These are some fierce maryjane style platforms. The hair in the first two pics are from Elikatira, so beautiful in the soft waves and the stunning updo, typically beautiful styles from Elika.
The third style is from Exile and is an item at Project Fur that started tonight. This is such a fun style and I really like it for this look. The shirt is the Oxford shirt from Schadenfreude, this is a wonderful shirt the options for it are just great but I also couldn’t resist the fishy tie, that you buy with a collar from the shirts and a neat little hud lets you choose the colour option for it to match the shirt you bought.

A little Raggedy
I am supposed to be sorting inventory, so when I came across the items I have on, I couldn’t resist another speedy post.
The Ragtime Dollie is a skin that Rose Farina created for Another Fundraiser II, this is such a genius use of a base skin…the imagination that went into it is just typical of Rose. She put a lot of thought into this, thinking back to the Another Fundraiser of 2008 and remembering that it was a lot of the more outrageous skins that were popular, and she was correct.
This skin even comes with it’s own hair, not shown, but also fabulous, and until sunday it is only 50L so do not miss out. While I had the skin on and I was flitting about the sim, I thought about what a rag doll such as this is like, very limber, I remember tying my dolls legs in knots and doing all sorts of crazy things with her. That made me remember a recentish purchase of some Yoga poses, Mats and Yogo pants and top I bought.
It was actually a really interesting collaberation project between some of the stores on the same sim, and I really liked what they came up with. I grabbed a VR Studio Mobile Library out of my inventory, threw in the Yoga poses from Estetica, wore the HUD and then voila in seconds I was posing on the beautiful mats that were also dollarbies from the same store.
The hair I am wearing is from Fashionably Dead, and is tinted by me to be this colour. The hair is part of the fantastic Spring Festival taking place at Tableau at the moment. It is a beautiful back combed style, and it was because of the demo colour and a little hint from Toast herself, that I found out that a little tint can go a long way with this style… plus I am also a big fan of red heads and pink, because I have never heard anything sillier than once being told at RL work that it was a no no, what a stupid load of crap.

Tummy Techniques
It has been a funny week this week, so much going on in the land of the Avatar, but there has also been more of a worker bee buzzzzzz, silent but building as people from all over are doing their thing. That’s how it seems to me anyway…I know we have been working hard on Hair Fair stuff, and Another Fundraiser is ending on the weekend, Project Fur is about to begin and Pacific Crisis Fundraiser is on until the tenth.
The skin I am wearing today is one of the Another Fundraiser II skins, this one was donated by Fishy Strawberry and is her own skin base combined with some highlights from the Sezmra skin. Not only did Fishy Strawberry do this skin for 50L at Another Fundraiser II, but also a pack of make ups as add ons that are just amazing.
Another contributor to Another Fundraiser II is Stellar, and while setting up her skins I was totally perving on the new skirts Lexi recently released, they are booty fabulous, and the plaid print comes in a great range of colours. The fact that the colours also went so well with the New Fringe Cowgirl boots from J’s was just a bonus. I haven’t been able to take these boots off since their release, they are so fantastic, and the fringing is amazing, flexi prims are not an easy task, but to get them to move in such a great way on shoes is a huge undertaking.
The leather work on these boots is just wonderful and the colours you are used to from J’s are all there, I especially like the squared off pointed toe look in these boots, very true to the style. subtle but there.Gawk released these really adorable baggy sweaters, I love a good cropped sweater, it allows for some fun layering, or to show off some of the incredible work our skin makers do on the mid section. This one is really cute because of the sculpties giving it a look that says “I could pull this down to cover up more, but I am not gonna”.
Another firm favourite in latest releases is the Follow hair from Elikatira, this style is a long hair lovers dream, but with the beautiful behind the shoulders draping that allows all avatar sizes to enjoy it, it is really simple in style but so very pretty. You can even try the demos on in the luxury of your own home, due to Elikatira being on Marketplace .

Pose Fair 2011
Pose Fair 2011 is about to start, from the 1st of April until the 15th, there are over a hundred stores on two levels. With NEW and older posesets, props and gadgetry you will not want to miss it. If you are a photographer, model, blogger or just starting out, this fair has it all. One thing that stood out this year was the growth in family orientated and childrens poses, a lot less of the ‘look at me I am fabulous’ and more of the ‘ we are family’ type of photo ops are there for the clicking, and I personally loved seeing it. There are also some amazing friends and couples poses, and the imagination shown in some of the vendor pics was a joy to see.
Make sure you set aside a lot of hours though, possibly over a few days, because to do it all at once like I just did, when not all are even set up, was a huge undertaking, but whether all at once or in stages, the layout is really clear, either clockwise or anti clockwise, you can stick to the inside circle and then outside and then move to the next level, easy.
VR Studio has a booth there this year, as you know that is the only system I will ever use, there was also other studios and gadgets, and I did notice that the move me dance system was back for another year. Some dance animations, that are fun and frivolous, and with the pics I just took some of those things that made me smile, giggle or I just felt stood out from the others in the same booth.
Speaking of giggles, hello MadDesigns you nutters, that pose set is so funny and so perfect for Second Life, I know that we have the yummy males contest each year on New World Notes, but seriously, can we now actually have some Mr SLuniverse pageants? it would be so much of a giggle.

Diamond Spray
I had a Hair Fair meeting today, because it is getting close to the deadline for applying, so making sure that we were all on the same page was the agenda. Afterwards I ran around a bit, throwing some info at some stores that have popped up in the time since the last one to now. I checked out a few ‘out there’ stores and got a little bit sad thinking about the loss of Achariya to fashion blogging in SL. If you hadn’t heard, yesterday was her last post. Who is going to blog for the future Acha’s of SL? In the old days, it was her and Ashia that did most of the ‘out there’ fashion blogging, it was never a surprise to see one of them turning up in some fire breathing alien cyborg fetish panther suit, or as a pink bunny, you know, whatever tickled them for the day. Ashia stopped last year, and now Achariya, and I think it is more of a loss than most would even think.
She will definitely be missed, and hopefully will find a way to still share with us her passion for all things different in SL.
So while out and about I ended up at Anaphora, some of you will remember that Anaphora started out at The Deck a long time ago, and he sure has grown since then to his own splashy and fabulous looking sim. Once upon a while ago too, he wasn’t that into girls hair as much as boys, but now has definitely overcome that hurdle and not only is he doing fabulous womens styles, but also recently branched out into skins.
The Alixia skin his first took many months to perfect, and you can tell from the shading on the body that a lot of the work is hand drawn, with some amazing tones and intense make ups. The character of this skin is mature and for those that lend themselves to a bit of ethnicity well I think that you will like this skin a lot. Remember demo demo demo.
The earrings I am wearing I just had to have when I saw the notice, those Tableau stores had me at hello. Yummy is a store by Polyester and yet for some reason as often as I have been in there, the name never registered properly until this time. The diamond spray of these are just wonderful, sculpted perfection and the texturing is amazing.
The coat I am wearing is from Aoharu, one of the pieces Machang returned with from her break, and she hasn’t stopped since. It has so many attachment options as well as with or without fur collar. The style is beautiful and the brilliance of the white was just perfect to show off such a dark for me tone skin. A few weeks back I went to FFL and grabbed some items from Duh, I am pretty sure it was FFL otherwise I am completely lost about where I have been going, and doing and argggh so many things lately. The boots are from Duh, and they are fun cowboy boots, if you have never been to Duh and are a shoe fan, and love a bargain, then this store is for you, because these boots were something like 25L or so.
Tucked into the boots are some Petals Place socks, petals place is owned by a RL photographer and artist, who enjoys making art on clothing in Second Life also, as well as using her own vintage fabrics etc. So when I saw these vibrant socks I had to have.
While taking pics and just about to do the body shots, Luck Inc released these new jeans,the Tyra jean. They come in lots of denim washes and colours, with skinny or cuffed skinny prims for this set, and two other variations which are slim and flare. I had to giggle at these jeans, they are probably the highest waisted jeans from Luck Inc so far, in the fact that to do an open zipper look, you actually have to have some zipper available, CK is so much fun to tease.
On typing all this up the Spring Festival for Tableau started and I am so in love with the new hair from Fashionably Dead, it is called Butterfly Girl and I LOVE it, even the demo colour made me squeel. Toast let me know it was just a tint, so I got the earths pack and yayyyy HERE
