Yesterday Whimsy and I went and did some Bodyguard duty for a friend. It took all of 15 minutes, but by then we got carried away with imagining earpieces, and spy suits, and the next thing you know this post was born. Whimsy sent me a cute earpiece attachment, and at first it was about how we could hang from the ceiling and steal stuff, and then it grew, and grew and grew.

I had to modify the build, because I wanted to have an office space behind a imposing door. So the concept is that Whimsy is the distraction – and she was certainly a good one in that outfit. Then I was to steal the secret documents in the office of some notorious person…all the while avoiding getting lasered into pieces. Then once I was free and clear, I drove around the front of the mansion and picked up Whimsy for our getaway.

The hairstyles had to be perfectly set for the job, if one hair was out of place, I would have been toast…so that is how Exile Net was born, also for me the whole spy look was centred around the fantastic ‘A Winters Tale’ Beret hat hair that was released weeks ago. It also gave me the opportunity to wear the gorgeous unitard from House of Fox I purchased at their recent sale. it also has bodysuits that match, I got those too.

We had a fun night and day doing this, there was all sorts of crazy physics complications, and a lot of crashing was involved, but the experience and fun was well worth it. I hope you enjoy.

When I was in the U.S the first time, I was lucky enough to spend a majority of the time in Boston. I love Boston, I could live there happily for the remainder of my days. One day we went to my families holiday house, and it was a beach house much like the one featured in todays post. It was so beautiful, even more so as it was right on the waters edge, not the beach side, but the lake side. The area was so amazing, one thin road separated the two…it was breathtaking.

The Newport Beach House – that is at this months Collabor88 by Trompe Loeil – is laid out so that you can do a lot of entertaining. An L shaped living area at the front of the house, allows you to split it up into a chill area,for listening to music on your scarlet apple record play – also a collabor88 item – which is just so rustic and cute. Then you have the plush seating area, where you can enjoy coffee and a chat with friends or colleagues. Then to business with the other side of the room, that makes space for a desk area, and possibly some low shelving for books. Mind you, with all the windows, I would be way distracted all the time – lucky the whole house comes with the option to close the windows from peeping toms and to give you some privacy also.

Walking through the wide doorway, you will find an area for a piano, which is so fun and has a whole lot of poses in it. Then into the spacious rumpus room/kitchen dining area. The kitchen is also by Trompe Loeil, and is easily pulled apart to fit into any space. It originally comes with its own backing walls – tiled – but I unlinked those. In RL my old kitchen used to be all yellow and blue, so this was exactly how I wanted it to look, with the addition of some key parts from Artilleri, and other great designers.

Upstairs, the bedroom space is smaller than I would have thought from outside, but seeing as it is built as a holiday get away, I am thinking it is more for a single or couple, not family with kids. The bed is modified, I removed the bed head so that it would fit under the window, adding some other bits and pieces from other Trompe Loeil releases, bringing all the lovely greens together.

The walls of the inside of the house are actually also tinted, to warm up the space a little. Go into edit on, select edit linked and then select face, and once you have all the parts tint away. It really gives it more of a wall papered look. So go and grab your own version, as the price for it at Collabor88 is fabulous.

The clothing I am wearing are also Collabo88 items, the tee*fy tank and skirt are mesh, and the tank comes in either solid or sheer options. The fabrics are beautiful and the colours are lovely, I do hope that eventually there will be more colours, as they are really easy to make ‘go to’ items. I am wearing the size up in the skirt though, as the very end of the hemline cut into my legs a little, but that would be more to do with the size of my legs, than anything else. So be sure to demo demo demo.

Three gorgeous new styles of hair from Exile. They are so sexy and work perfectly with these looks, I especially love the ‘Stay the Night” style which is all sorts of RAWR.

First off a response to a comment made yesterday in my post Fly me to your Skybox . I was asked by Lucy, how big the skybox was, what size land it would need, and how to get it into the sky. So I thought that rather than just reply in the comment, I would make it the start of this post.

Being generous with a floor prim, it would be 24 by 19 metres. Because of the L shape of the build, it does not fit on a 512 plot of land, but means you only need the next size up – which I assume is 1024, it has been a long time since I checked parcels. If you are renting from someone, on a residential sim, they would be able to advise. The build does not come with a rezzer, and it is coalesced, so you need to rez while in edit mode. This is an old school way of doing it, and there will probably be a thousand people that will say there are easier, and I hope they do, but here is what I would have done, before I had sim wide platforms in my sky.

Rez a prim and make it the size above 24 x 19 and flatten it. Make sure while on the ground that it fits inside your land allotment. That no parts of it are hanging over the sides etc. Then rez a cube in the middle and link the two pieces together  ( Edit and select both prims and then use the link button in edit) Then sit on the cube. Go into edit on the prim you are sitting on, and go to the second page of edit (object tab) and the first set of numbers on the left (position) where it says Z that is your height. Make that number the height you want to be in the sky. The higher you are, sometimes can effect scripts and the way things rez, so don’t go crazy ( about 1000 ish may suit).

When you change the numbers you and the prims should be instantly sent to that height. you can see at the top of your screen the altitude you are now at. Stand, and make sure your feet are firmly planted on the floor 🙂 . Go into edit on your prim, and then go to your inventory and drag the skybox to the floor, then move and rotate it as needed to fit on the prim you have made, this way making sure that you will not go over your land available. Once you have it where you want it, you can then look at the check boxes in object tab and choose LOCKED, this will make sure you can’t accidentally delete it. Then you remove the prims you rode up on and you have your new home, once inside of it, you can make a LM or set to home by using the world tab, and making this your home location.

Now another little lesson. This was something to do with the outfit I am wearing in todays post. With MY Ao – and yes with aos being so different and hundreds of options, and thousands of poses, sometimes clothing moves differently person to person. My Ao tends to breathe a lot and my shoulders were pushing out of the dress completely. I had a look at the alpha, and it was not high enough. Now I could have IM’d the creator and waited for a response, and maybe a change, or I could have not worn it, or I could just practice what I preach 😀 and make my own new alpha. So I chose that option. I did an alpha making tutorial a while ago, HERE. So I jumped into PS and after four tries I got a good balance of alpha coverage. The alpha layer for the dress was mod, so I added my upper to it, and saved and voila, no more poking through.

The dresses are beautiful glittery shift dresses by The Sea Hole. The colour blends are divine, and you can also purchase matching headbands flapper style ones, that just look adorable,  with the dress or anything you want to wear them with. The style is so very on par with the theme of trending, metalic glittery looks, but with that vintage appeal. so gorgeous. They are at Collabor88/January, and you really need these in your life.

The Hair I am wearing is the recent release from Elikatira, what I loved about it, other than the fact that overall it is just beautiful, is that on the swept back side there is a perfect forward curl that looks so much like shorter styles worn in the roaring 20’s that it was a perfect modern take on the flapper look.

The Skin I am wearing is the latest Belleza called Ava, and she is a delight. I have to say that while tattoo layers are fun for mixing and matching, I am so happy that Belleza still does their skins on their skins. As in all 12 skins have their own look, then if you want to ‘add’ to them you can, but seeing as tattoo layers can sometimes cause weird issues with feet, and blurring, I love this.

Ava comes with three different brow options – in all skins – I went with the red this time, hair and brows. The red brows are just so lovely, and really change the overall look enough to feel different. You also get three hairbase tattoos, as well as cleavage. Then as a separate item, there is a lipstick pack that has matte, gloss and high gloss versions of the same colours, and they are gorgeous. I showed all the make ups, and then just the variety of the lips in one colour, so you can see the great variations of those. So get out there and DEMO DEMO DEMO.

Another newness to me that is, well not so new as I posted on them the other day too. Maubray has some fantastic jewellery, I showed the bangles the other day, but these gold and silver delights, in rings and earrings are also must have items…the floral earrings and ring look gorgeous with the headband, and the texture of the gold and silver are so realistic, it is amazing detailing.

The other Maubray must haves are these shoes, not only so perfect for this dress, as they have that vintage like sensibility to them, but also because OMG they have a socks option that is so cute, I am running around right now in shorts and shoes and socks and a tank and I look adorable – ok maybe I shouldn’t be the one that says that, but I am :P. The shoes have 12 colours available and each shoe has 12 socks colours options, I am so in lust with the red shoes navy socks. I know you will be too.

Skyboxes are one of those things in SL, that are like the ‘and eating it too”, you know. They give you an illusion of space, and can be whatever you want them to be. If you have ever lived on mainland, they were a necessity for the most part, because back in the old days, who could even conceive of living on the ground – unless of course you had the money to afford a large plot of land. But even that didn’t ensure you weren’t back0-ended by some gaudy, loud mess of a structure. That is not to say that all mainland was that obnoxious, there were some great spaces even older, but with the 512 plot land grabs of 06/07 things got ugly lol.

I went skywards back on my parcel once for a few weeks, because I was between sims, and had had my mainland 512 since my first few months  here, because its free with premium…I still have it. I was high in the sky and free from all the ugly, and then someone smacked a club right next to me. They could have had any height, but no, had to be the exact same height as mine….seriously. That wasn’t that big a deal, but then they started shouting, winning things noises, and all sorts of stuff, so my friend – evil genius that he is – scripted a responder, so for everytime it screamed in my houses direction, the scripted prim would scream back about monkeys and tv…it was hilarious, but I removed it after a few hours of guilt. I was between sims as I said, so honestly I didn’t much care what happened there.

Then I bought this amazing mansion like house and put it in the sky at work, and friends laughed at me, because it had doors. “Why does your skybox have doors Sasy?” so I showed them, and built a landing pad outside the doors, and everytime someone came to visit, I tpd them to the outside by standing really close to the doors lol, and then making them knock to get in. It was not a skybox though, it was just a house in the air, as many have done before me, and many have done since. But then you come across real skyboxes, the ones with domes, or surrounds, and its a completely different experience. An illusion is created, you can be anywhere, doing anything, you could have space dunes outside, or be underwater in a pod, if you so choose – um where is that skybox, I have never seen one now that I think about it.

Apartment style skyboxes are all the rage too, because you don’t need the rest of the building. The only thing that baffles me about this concept, is when there seems to be more windows than you would normally have in the type of apartment it is, but then again we can have anything we want to in our virtual world.

This Trautmann skybox by Pilot is the first, in I hope an ongoing collection. It is the perfect size to not run out of furniture. There is one main window – with a panoramic outdoors image, and the rest of the lighting comes from beautiful skylighting in the ceiling over the dining area – I do hope in future there may be something like that done in the bedroom too. The walls are a great neutral colour blend, because its not really gender specific, and actually has good resell value – in RL that is. Wooden floors and large entrances to each room, really give it a sense of space that is really needed in a home, because you don’t want to feel too closed in. My other favourite thing is that the ceilings are HIGH, thank you for that, because low ceilings freak me out – we tend to have high ceilings in Australia.

I filled the home with various items of furniture, from Pilot, Cheeky Pea, and Scarlet Apples – which is a collaboration between Scarlet Creative and Apple Fall. I look forward to seeing great things from them in the future also. Even though most of the furniture was released as outdoor style pieces, I think it suits the eclectic vibe of the space. Whimsy came over and provided dinner, a lovely assortment of food, you can get from Poche.

The beautiful new dress from SySy’s is just lovely, the sheer overlay is done with consideration of hair, so that as long as you don’t go past the breast area with mesh rigged hair, you wont have any alpha conflict. That is why I chose this great new style from Wasabi Pills that just fit the bill perfectly. The dress is perfect for entertaining at home, or going out for the day or night. A pretty dress that has a gorgeous length and overall style, and comes in such pretty colours. This one was a great choice to go with the Yummy gemstone set that is at this months collabor88. The set has earrings, ring and necklace, and comes in other beautiful colours, but this ruby one was just perfect.

When I hear the name Charlie, I always think of the fragrance. It was such a big deal when I was little. The promotions were always beautiful ladies, most often in pants and a dressy kind of top, and it was always a one image kind of ‘This Girl can do it all!” kind of thing. These new Charlie items by Rebel Hope bring back those images so well. The pants are lovely tailored flat front pants, with this delightful 3/4 sleeve knit sweater, with a great oversized collar.

This post would have been hours earlier, but we ended up in an hour long conversation in Fashion Emergency, that provided some interesting insight into how Marketplace works. CronoCloud should be following it up with a post that will provide information that may be helpful to stores that list there, so look out for that in days to come.

This months Collabor88 has the theme ‘Trending’ which has a metalic and emerald green base to it. I found it interesting when Pantone announced Emerald as the colour of 2013 in the last months of last year, and as someone that really does enjoy great greens, I was pleased. The metalic blend and emerald green of the palette for the event has created somewhat of a Wizard of Oz feeling, and the adorable TinMan glasses by Intrigue were the starting point for this post. They are so fun, and the small chips of emerald at the tops of the frames made them super special.

The dress by Ingenue has this beautiful mesh like metalic finish to it, especially in the silver. Combined with either a t-shirt under – as worn – for a casual day look, or without for more of a dressy early evening and into the night look, it really is special. The texture also worked perfectly with some bangles I bought last week from Maubray. There are many colour stacks to choose from, as well as the fat pack which I grabbed, the cool thing about them is that they are mod, and copy, so that you can unstack them and make your own combinations, or just wear one if you don’t like lots of bangles at once. That was actually the deciding factor for me, while I do like bangles, sometimes you just want a single to finish off a look.

Other great jewellery at Collabor88 are the peacock earrings, also by Intrigue, and the beautiful set by Cae that I am wearing the necklace of, as I will save the earrings for another time. The simplicity of the set makes it a go to option, and the leather strapping lets it be classy and casual. Another item at Collabor88 and one to add to your growing collection, is the Renee skin with special Trending themed make ups, there is an incredible Emerald Smokey eyeshadow, but as I was wearing the glasses at first, I went with the more subtle gold like look.

Lastly and perfectly timed, so much so that I actually asked Whimsy to let me blog it first lol. The Candice hair by Vanity Hair…it has two parts with a mesh tail, and is a really beautiful pony, that worked well with the glasses because there are no bangs to work around. I am wearing the hairbase from lelutka underneath.

1. Happy RezDay Whimsy Winx – I hope that she has the most awesome of days, her being part of my Second Life for 6 years has definitely made it richer.

2. Another good friend of mine is in DC at the moment. Every year he and his partner are part of the SDA Charity Marathon. So far they have raised over 135000USD for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. The event has gamers from all over, traveling to DC so that they can do speed gaming online. That is probably not the greatest of description of it, these people all come together to not only share their skills, but also to unite to help a wonderful charity. So if you are into gaming, and have a few dollars to spare, click on the link and help them out.

Now onto the fashion. Recently League released these gorgeous faux fur pea coats. The colours and style reminded me of 1985. I was in the UK, and at the time one of the biggest fashion trends was fluffy big faux fur coats like this. They came in fabulous pastel colours, I wanted one so badly. Unfortunately with the price tag, as well as how heavy it was going to be to take back to Australia, it was alas a no go. This coat now lets me have my fabulous memories, look great wearing it, as well as being soft and luxurious.

Each coat comes with three colour options included. The colours have a main colour, then two gradient/dipped versions, in either natural like colours or more faux dyed blends…it depends on the colour purchased. I am wearing the coat over the lovely leggings from Indyra Originals that are part of their recent Native Fox release. The leggings come in two colours, and they have these great studs running up the sides. You can also consider them to be running ‘down’ the sides and bringing all your attention to these gorgeous boots by SLink.

The Vanity boots were partially released at TDR Fusion a few weeks ago, but now the full release is in the SLink mainstore. The boots have this amazing sleeve like look over a boot shaped shoe portion, I secretly am going to pray that Slink considers making the foot parts so that they can be worn with pants/jeans., then I also want the sleeves on their own too…hee hee I am reaching I know. The zippered sides are delightful, especially that they unizp on both ends and the openings are very detailed and look great.

The skin I am wearing is by Amacci, this skin looks adorable on many shapes that I have seen it on so far. Whimsy did a great post featuring it a while back. Nuiko comes with teeth or non teeth options, as well as 13 great make up and non make up options, hair bases and cleavage. You also get lipstick layers on tattoos with the skin, so you can mix things up and make your own combinations. The adorable vintage ponytail is also from Amacci, and she recently had a few more styles for both women and men to check out, so demo demo demo.

The accessories for the look are jewellery by LaGyo at this current session of Collabor88. The Starla jewellery is so pretty, and has a almost starfish like quality to the design. They metal features come in silver and gold, and are part of a bigger release that includes berets, belts and necklaces, so be sure to check those out.

Lastly I am again wearing The Roman2 bag by House of Fox, I wore this the other day as well, and really like it a lot. The tassels are adorable, and the shape and options are just great. It also has a resizer script inside, so you can make it more of an oversized bag if you like.

Only a few more days until the Collabor88/December 2012 collection is changed over, and in its place,  the first Collabor88 of 2013. I have been running around in my underwear – this underwear – for days now, trying to get my post done…so if you saw me tping around, just know that it is not exactly how I spend my time in world usually. These days underwear is a must have item, because with mesh not rezzing immediately and alphas slow on the uptake, you can be really rather exposed to strangers. So being able to scoop up such lovely sets as these Catalina sets by The Sea Hole- at such a mervelous price – is a great thing.

The bra and panties come on all layers, and because of my modesty – and my no nipples policy – I wore all layers, so that you cannot see what you can see with only one. The one layer option is not overly revealing, just more than I do on my blog, so you will love the sets, also the colour combinations are splendid…I really like how different colours were layered over each other, to form really adorable sets.

The other reason for wearing such beautiful lingerie, was that this post was to feature the upcoming shoes release by Maitreya Gold. The Shiki platforms are stunners. They are delicate strapped shoes, with an incredibly chunky platform base, with the two opposites coming together in such a magnificent way. The platforms are texture changeable with 30 different options, the ‘wilds’ being my favourites. But wait there is more. The shoes also have an option of on or off, this means that you can have your shoes actually vanish to reveal only the foot portion of the Shiki, and have a lovely tip toe look, which is nice for sitting poses as well as other imaginative looks you can come up with. I really like this option as it makes for ease of pic taking, as well as your feet are already tinted in advance of time.

These shoes come in different sizes, and are non rigged, so you can still use the resizer option within the hud, the sizes just give you a better starting off point. The Shiki shoes will be released next week, so stay tuned.

It is already the second for me, but I can imagine some heads are hurting all over the world right now. The beginning of the month; means it is the start of another round of FaMESHed. Today I am wearing adorable beanie hat/hair by Wasabi Pills, that has a HUD Control for the buttons, the stitches and the beanie itself…so you get to coordinate with your outfit. The necklace – also at FaMESHed – is the full combo of necklaces based on anukaa beads and Ethiopian cross styled jewellery. The beautiful set by Gossamer Jewellery also comprises of many options of wear, giving you strand types as well as earrings – not shown due to length of hair.

The dress I am wearing – by Ingenue – is at Collabor88/December, that is winding down in the next week, so if you haven’t gone back for more of the goodies, take the time now. It is a very simple tunic style dress, but it is the simplicity that makes it so beautiful. The colours available are based on the frost theme of this month, and the length if flirty and fun. The style doe allow for ease of wear over pants, or leggings if you want a warmer look.

Happy new Year from Down Under…it was so loud here for about 16 minutes, I thought that the sky was going to open up and swallow us all. Everyone sounded like they were having a great time though, so there is that. The time to get all dollied up on the other sides of the world ( yes apparently the world that is round still has sides) is coming up fast, and it is time to gather together and sing songs of things that really don’t make any sense, and drink until you can’t remember what it was you wanted to do in the New Year anyway…or not. You can stay sober and have just as much fun, and if you do drink, make sure you stay where you are until you are sober, or walk home, no driving please.

Locking yourself away in an awesome snow cabin, is also an idea. This one by Trompe Loeil is adorable. It is low land impact, and even has snow and trees surrounding it, in case you don’t have the terraforming options on your land yourself. It is a cozy space for one, or two – if you are lucky that way…and it is available in different colours, and there is that lovely corduroy sofa and chair also available at Collabor88. Only a week left to go grab everything at this session.

The gown I am wearing is by SySy’s and is part of the My Attic @ The Deck release for December, which ends at midnight tonight. The sparkle gown is very elegant and curvaceous, with a glittery fabric that will catch the eye of many an admirer. I do love the simplicity of the dress, as it means you can indulge in some big eye-catching statement jewellery, such as this set by Mandala. This set is a special offer for Christmas, and I do believe until tomorrow, but rush over just in case.

The hair I am wearing is also from Collabor88 and is by Diva, and it has four different wear looks, as it has two bangs options as well as a ponytail attachment, so well worth the purchase, and really nice to wear.
