Designers and Artists PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Read this post

Ok this may look like a fashion post, and it kind of is, but it is also wayyyyy more informative. This is Fiachra my very best friend, he is also the owner of Essentia, the creator of my Hair Roses and Jewelry I wear often.

One thing about him is he loves to send me links to things, and one of his favourite places to shop online is Woot, now if you don’t know about Woot it’s one of those sites that does a special of the day, generally electronics and such great prices they are a steal. Well there are also other Woot sites, and one of those he often shows me what he has bought, but we discussed it recently, my mind of course straight away thinking it would be cool if they were in world.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO It’s better than that, omg so much better. You see Woot has a shirt site, and these shirts are made by their own designers etc, BUT BUT BUT they have a weekly Derby where people can submit art work which gets voted on, and the winners art work will get turned into a shirt that is sold on the site.

Ok sounds great right, I mean you’re all so incredibly talented, and I know even more of you are gifted in so many ways other than just clothes making using the Phils Place templates, I have seen creators art work that never actually makes it onto clothes because of the way the mesh would distort the image etc. This would be a chance to show off your talent.

The way it works is that you submit the entry into the Derby, and then it is voted on, now unlike most votey stuff you have to be a customer of Woot, any of their sites though, and the thing is that a Tshirt from their Shirt site is only 10usd free shipping and 15usd internationally for their shirts of the day, if its an older shirt you like add 5usd. Now why are Fiachra and I so excited about this for YOU the designers of Phils Place, wellllllll if your shirt design gets picked you get $1000 USD , yes I will say it again $1000 USD.

Now about what Fiachra is wearing and a big thank you to him for letting me know about this fabulous oppurtunity for many of you.

Fiachra recently went Neko, not that that was a huge leap for him as in the two years I have known him, he has been a Skin (thats what I call me who is without fur ) then a Kirin, then a baby dragon, then a huge dragon, then a skin again , then a Dragonne – which was a custom made avatar mixing a Dragon and a Lion- then a skin again and now a Neko lol.

So on his hunt for a Neko skin he finally found one he was pleased with at Nomine – he is wayyy fussy. The skin is the Neko – male cheetah and its cute I have to admit, especially around the face as that is pretty much all I see anyway. A while back on one of our teleporting adventures I came across some boots that I already owned and realised they had mens versions that were pretty spiff and made him check them out, he really liked them and bought black and brown ones, the store is Zero Number [0N] and the boots are called Engineer Boots Zipper Brown, which he likes so much that he has even bought brown clothing to wear with them – which if you look in his profile is kind of funny.

Last week we went to Dutch Touch and he got the Leather Jacket Brown, which he really likes and does go so well with the boots, but he needed something extra, and not really having allot of brown in his inventory yet I had to take care of that with the Digit Darkes Leather Chaps in Brown/Black, these pants have always been popular with the guys and now that they are on both layers they go great with boots such as these.

Fiachra is all about layers, and the fact that so much is made on partial or all, he likes to push those boundaries, hoping that designers instead of just doing longer shirts on the jacket layer only and then having tucked on the other two , possibly start making the bottoms of the untucked on pants layers so that you can use the underpants layers of pants and stil have that untucked look of a shirt with a jacket on as well – lol that all sounded so technical, but you can see in his pic what he has done.

Also from Dutch Touch is the LongSleeves Top Tucked DarkGrey which is actually being worn under a tank top from Aitui which actually has that pants layer shirt extension look, so as Fia says he has Sandwiched Aitui between his Dutch Touch, lucky Aitui. The tank from Aitui is the Plain Tank Top /Charcoal and his whole look is pretty funky.

His ears the Kitti Ears (Burnt) have been modded from some that I have as well, from The Sweetest Sin, as I have shown in the past the ears come pierced etc, but Fia didnt want all that so removed the extra prims, but really liked the movement and shape of them.

Fia is also wearing a tail he made for himself, and the Byzantine Choker Chain from his own store Essentia, which I also love and wear often.

A change of Seasons

With the change in Seasons right now, it is a delight to start thinking about warmer weather for me, and yet cooler for the majority. Between Seasons like this is where it seems that I for one benefit the most. It is still very cold here at night, so now with clothes getting warmer and snugglier I am in bliss, but in the day it’s starting to get warm already, so it’s a kind of transition phase, and I was having fun with that concept the other day when I took these pics.

The Dove lace trim blouse, is long sleeved and so feminine, which is so Persona‘s creator Myllie Writer’s style. They definitely have a warmth to them, but still a lightness in the fabric that could lend itself to warmer weather easily. They reminded me so much of the indian cheesecloth shirts I wear in summer here, and the Hippie Chic shirts that Persona also has in the store, so in that frame it worked out well that the Hippie Chic Jeans-black went perfectly with them, you get the capri style pants and the longer jeans all in the one set.

Beautiful soft colours, and as I wanted to show off the Courtney Wedges from Digital Dragon Designs, I went with the white Dove Blouse and the black Hippie Chic Jeans so the Black Wedge with the White straps were perfect, Digital Dragon Designs have been making some wonderful shoes lately since they started making sculpties, and I have always loved their boots before then.This is a perfect outfit for those days when you don’t want to fuss, but still want to look smart and pretty.

The beautiful Hair is from Goldie Locks and is called Lilac, it was one of the Hair Fair styles and is now avaulable in the main store, so pretty with its long waves off to one side, all raised up and semi piled on top of the head, it’s yummy.

Now for the skin, my oh my, Siddean Munro of Slink has just recently released the Isabelle skins, and this is the Sunkissed Makeup 3, I love the beautiful complexion of this handpainted skin, Siddean has removed all the previous resourced parts of her older skin lines and enhanced them with her hand drawing skills, the mouth on these is just so adorable. The skins is very fresh and youthful with a definite glow about them, there are six tones and many features to them, you will just have to check out all the Demos.

Speaking of glow, look at this skin, I got so excited I even IM’d Siddean claiming major cuteness. The Isabelle Sunkissed Makeup 1 with freckles is just wonderful, rosey cheeks looking exactly how it can with this weather down here, and those adorable freckles across the bridge of the nose, it was all about the Yum Yum for me.

The Dita Knit tops from Persona are also heavenly, the sculpted cuffs and collar and just warm and snuggly, the colours are just fabulous too, making it so easy to mix and match into something wonderful. Sometimes it’s all about keeping the upper half warm and knowing that with a busy day ahead, the bottom half will be moving so briskly it will be all good.

That was my thought when teaming up the Person Bonnie shorts with the Dita Knit tops, the shorts also gave me a chance to show off some more beautiful Digital Dragon Designs Shoes, the Red Suede Slides make a perfect addition to your wardrobe, the style is lovely and the ease in which they can go from day to night is wonderful. They are that style of shoe that you can wear with all looks, be it casual or dressy, pants or dresses it all works.

Another fantastic style from Hair Fair is the Aideen style hair with goggles from Kin, I love this style, its so funna. Not just the adorable goggles, but the band wrapped around the whispy shag cut was great fun to tint- and I think I got pretty close to the colours of the Dita Knit tops, I was chuffed. My IM to Siddean was something along the lines of ‘could I be cuter” well I got there when I added the Kotoricco Basket by Luce, this basket was a gift and it’s just adorable, with hand to the side pose or hands in front hold, the hands in front just took me to new heights of cute lol.

Right now at Hair Fair on the top of the pyramid myself and some awesome people, Sofia, Elke, Ina, Teagan, Tanya, Ashia, Delta, Leetah, Solaris are dancing up a storm and having a great time, one of those people is Kid and he wore the Vegas bandana that I made for Hair Fair and we couldn’t not dress him up the rest of the way,

Loco Pocos Love ♥

I have been so neglectful in my Loco Pocos updates. When I stress about how much I have to do, I remind myself of Damien Fate and Washu Zebrastripe, shake myself and get on with it. I honestly don’t know how they manage, not only do they both have islands they manage and make items for, but both have done a remarkable job this year of being on the Hair Fair Committee.Damien is the genius behind our Bandana bases and Donation Kiosks as well as many other things we needed, and Washu built the sims as well as taking on so many responsibilities with the organisation of the fair.

Anyway in my neglecting of many things bloggy, I have had these incredible Loco Pocos avatars sitting in my inventory to share for way too long. One of the things that people wanted as soon as they opened the doors was pants, funnily enough girls got skirts and the men demanded pants, I tried to convince Fia he could wear a skirt and pretend it was a kilt but he wasn’t having a bar of it.

Well now not only are there pants, but so many other amazing items to add to your Loco Pocos collection.Starting with the wonderful new characters, we have from top to bottom, Martha,Daphne, Nina and Olivia , aren’t they prescious.

As usual all the avatars have all those wonderful hud features, allowing you to change fur colour, whiskers, eyes etc…then when you add an accessory or item of clothing, the same applies giving you so many options. The sculptie work on these avatars is just a delight, and I especially love Nina the Monkey, and doesn’t she look adorable as a Wizard.

Once all of their other commitments are behind them, Damien and Washu have so many exciting plans for Loco Pocos, so be sure to keep up to date with the goings on over there, I cannot wait for new dreams and possible hunts , the last one was a blast. Remember Loco Pocos is so much more than just shopping, its an adventure and so entertaining, so go back if you haven’t in a while, and take some friends that haven’t had the pleasure.

Flore

Flore by Insolence, was the most recent of the releases from this well known designer of exceptional Lingerie. Each set has a multitude of layering options as well as personal preference in style. There is triangle or balcony bra options – there are so many ways to twist that, and I really can’t help myself..Balcony= Where one enjoys the scenery, Balcony= Where one relaxes, makes perfect sense when you think about it lol.

There are also string sided panties, or the regular fuller style that in the Flore look very much like French Knickers. The beautifully feminine and delicate floral prints in the Flore are just lovely, whether your buying them to showoff to someone special, or you just want to feel luxurious from the skin outwards these are something that you will love. The panties have a tiny bow at the front made of prims and the ruffle extension of the bras is just divine.

Worn with one of my favourite Lingerie skins for its softness and beauty, Fleurs Vivant Lalique skin is just gorgeous, the smokey eyes and the rich red lipstick will tantalise and tease all through the evening until Flore is unveiled. Delilah by Wonderhair at Hair Fair, is a stunning style in such a wonderful cappuccinno colour.

Down here it became Spring this week and what a beautiful way to celebrate new growth in nature than with Flore by Insolence.

Playtime- lots and lots and lots

When I saw this set, I just knew I had to have it. Crazy ; a new to me store has some way fun sets, two of which I am going to show. This first one is Match, and its a delight of baby colours and sexyness, reminiscent of the mid to late 70’s early 80’s. The blue with pink shorts are adorable, they are sourced but too cute to pass up. The pink panties that come with and their skullies are so yummy with the very cropped white tanky bra top, I have to admit I love the stretched fabric shading on that, when your going to barely cover them, you want to know its an effort lol.

The socks with their rolled tops and the wraparound wrist bands again are divine, who didn’t do that back then, I at first wanted to wear some rollerskates with these, but then remembered the Dolly Sandals from Dela and their jelly plastic look, which was soooooooooooo approprate for my nostalgia tour for today. I have had the HLD Bear Headphones for so long, and as soon as I was all dressed I ran to their folder and fished them out , yay finally the perfect combination to wear them with, so cute, they come with two attachment options so YAY.

The fit perfectly over the Yuka Chignon from BP* a wonderful Hair Fair style, that again with those straight across bangs reminded me of being a kid and holding on to a rope on the back of a neighbours bike while she pulled me on my red and white rollerskates down our street, NEVER DO THAT! – still have the scar *sniffles*.

This next set isn’t from Crazy, I am going to move around a bit today. SK Designs and I go wayyyy back, I found the store when I used to blog on AM, and bought up everything, Sergio was new to design here then and his store has grown lots, I was so glad to have stumbled across it again, those older pieces are still much loved items. The Wicked set is definitely named well. The cropped turtleneck is divine, one thing I need to point out though, is that nearly every top I have to show today is on the jacket layer only, which does limit the mixy matchy a bit, but they are transfer , so it’s a bit of a either or situation I guess.

I could easily see wearing this over the top of tanks and t’s though, the shorts are short lol , and deliciously ripped in various places, I really like the darkness of the denim too in these, often denim short shorts come way lighter, its nice to have an alternative. The ripped leggings finish it off well, note they don’t have feet to them , so you may choose to wear with shoes, but boots are probably preferable, as I have done with the fabulous Goth Belted boots by J’s , I love these booth, the strap work on them is remarkable, and of course you get the option of without also , so more bang for your buck.

Another Hair Fair style, is the wonderful Sioux by Refuge, I love her styles at Hair Fair this year, so yummy, the vintage style bangs on this straight style are fab.

Ok I really couldn’t resist this set. Again from Crazy, the Army set is just more buckets of fun. I love the whole outfit, from the fab military look with the sexy short hotpants, to the totally visible suspenders and stockings poking above and below, very saucy. The anarchy symbol on the back of the shirt and pants are a bit of extra fun too. Worn with one of the fab Gurl 6 Hair Fair releases, the Pip style is a great big bunch of sculpty love tails.

Keeping with the military feel I went with the Blair Boots in Leopard from Dela, I swear I can’t help it, its those buttons that do it for me, plus the colour was perfect.

With the colder weather still here, and rain, this set from SK Designs brought out my snuggle needs. The Otep outfit comes with the three beautiful knit tops, I love the options on these especially the sleeveless, so cosey. One of my favourite colours is the burgundy richness of the knit, then added in a patch to the wonderful not so short shorts, the skully belt on the pants layer is neato too, bringing it all together really well.

Chloe the Hair Fair style by Maitreya is just as snuggly with the texture change sculpted beanie atop the cascading pieces of richly textured hair. perfect combo for a day strolling around markets and stopping for a hot chocolate in some quaint cafe.

The Deviant set from SK Designs is another great set with options in the top. You have the cut out heart in the top or the full covering , which is nice to have both, depending on your mood. The straps and buckle work is really well done on the arms and mid section as well as continuing down to the torn leggings.

I love the tartan skirt in this set , and it is designed to be able to wear separate, so yay much joy. The boots are from Decadent Designs, I have had these for an age also, the Stompas boots are also well named, they are chunky and fun to just stomp around in, or dance,whatever strikes your fancy lol.

This hair is so cute, it’t the Curious Kitties Charity style at Hair Fair, so sailor moon I couldn’t resist it, I got it in three colours and the red looks great with this set, the sculptie bows are satiny and soo prettyful.

Lastly the Lasuna Outfit (note I flared the cuffs of the pants as they do come tight to the leg) also from SK Designs, you get the beautiful grey tank in three options, the print is really pretty on one of the long versions. The belt detailing on the pants is just stunning and the shading overall is yum. I also really like the sleeves that are not joined to anything on the gloves layer tieing it altogether but also a great thing to wear with other sets, and you know I love my grey. The cute little shrug is actually done on the shirt layer so only wearable under the tanks , which is again something you could mix and match with other outfits.

Skullz Chunkas are the shoes again from Decadent Designs, so adorable and fun to wear with this kind of outfit. The messy and vibrant Electra hair from Hair Fair by MMSkins is fabulous flyaway hair, definitely lots of electrical activity going on, it makes me think of rubbing your hands on carpet and holding them above someones, hair so cute, and I love the big loose curls underneath at the back.

The cropped top is called broken which made me giggle, so sexy and why wouldn’t you want to show off the Dernier Cri skin worn in all the pics, it’s the Kelsey Chestnut – Glamour: Pink, and I just love the make up available and the shine and fit body. All Jewelry and Hair Roses are by Essentia, the Choker Chain is one of my favourites of the Essentia Jewelry Collection.

Brown paper packages tied up with string,

It’s hard not to think of that song when wearing pants like this. Sound of Music opened up all sorts of possibilities, I know that I myself have seen upholstery books in old second hand stores and thought ‘those would make such cute pants or skirts’. When I saw the Indiana Boho Set from SySy Designs on, that was my first thought, wow SySy has made pants from tapestry. Not only do I love the heavy look of these pants, you know ‘real’ weight, the kind you need in cooler weather, but the colours are divine.

These would be the ultimate find in a second hand store, I know-as I used to sell vintage clothing RL-that these are a treasure, you can scour stores and markets and garage sales for months, picking up bits and pieces, and once in a blue moon something like these just pokes out from under some other items; and you are in heaven.

The wrap top that comes with the set is a beautiful large stitch sweater, and as the trim is the same fabric as the pants it has that real handmade feel to it. Beautifully finished off with the braided belt and buckle detailing that as part of the pants. This Kestrel Hair is from Kin and is her freebie at Hair Fair, definitely a style worth having, I already love long and straight, with the addition of the leather straps, it’s perfect.

Another wonderful addition is the Studio Sidhe Joy Beaded Jewelry, Faery was getting so concerned about all her friends being so stressed out lately she calls them her Happy Beads, there are earrings, necklaces, bangles, bellyrings. All beautifully crafted, with a beautiful blend of colours in the beading.

The little hippy sets are easily enjoyed, they have a definite versatility in the set; with their trimmed leggings and mismatch lengths skirt. Dancing on the beach, or grabbing your favourite shopping basket and doing a round of the markets it all works. The light and breezy look of the fabric has a definite resort wear style to it, so for island hopping it’s wonderful.

The Bliensen+MaiTai Wind Chime earrings in snow just complimented the whole look,they also reminded me of taking things apart and wearing them- I kind of did that once in the 80’s accidentally on purpose, acquired two drops from a chandelier in a building, I looked one it as a public service though, the damn thing was hung so low I smacked my head on it. Worn with the absolutely Stunning In Space hair by Curio – at Hair Fair – this style is Chic Perfection (Green pic is flipped, the bangs cover the left eye) I love how the black textures from Curio look with this style, giving it real depth.

Definitely more of a casual look, the Capri Pants and Short n Striped tops by SySy Designs are a terrific combo. The capri pants are beautifully crafted, the texture is fantastic on them, I don’t thing you can ever have too many sets of Capris, and with the upcoming winter boots, if they are the right length they are perfect to wear with. The tie tops are fun and playful, the knit style fabric makes them snuggly, and they would be great in layers over or under other items.

Wearing the Cafe hair from Analog Dog -Hair Fair – with them, I think this style is so glamorous in a bombshell kind of way, but love how it can look just stunning no matter how you are dressed. All the skins shown are from Damiani and are the Michelle V2 Skins in sunkissed, beautiful work done on these and I just love the nose, be sure to check out the Demos.

Dark Eden has released the Shaman Rust sets, when Etain was telling me she was excited about a new release coming, I was excited with and for her. Then she showed me the items and I got excited for me and everyone else.

There are three types of Shaman rust, so dependant on your mood you can choose dark, light or medium. For the most part this is a silks set, BUT, the motor parts and use of old metals and gears etc have turned it into so much more.

You remember those shows where it was usually after some disaster had befallen the planet, and someone would stumble across a community of what were once kids, who have had to raise themselves and so on lol. Well they always wore things like this, making outfits out of parts and scraps of what they could find. I always loved those shows, I always wanted to see some kid walk into the room in a ballgown or something though, I mean you would think one of the big name designer stores would have at least a few gowns that would survive *chuckles*.

Anyway rambling aside, I love what Etain has done with these sets, and you can even buy jewelry to match, adorable gear parts earrings and even a bindi for the middle of your forehead, but that didnt really work for this incredible hair that I just had to put with the set. You really need to check out the individual pieces for the Shaman Rust sets, because the leg and hand pieces are something I could see many wearing often.

Now about that hair, Tekili-Li released the Graeae style at Hair Fair, and its just wonderful, there is texture change metals and the work that has gone into the style is just amazing. Again totally the kind of look that the Shaman set and Graeae conjurs for me when thinking of those shows. I love all the bead and chain work, I’m a bit scared of the bones and teeth 😛 but I’m pretending that they are from one of those souvenir stores, and that they are plastic lol.

I love the combination of both, and again so many of the Dark Eden pieces you can mix and match. The skin is the SUZANA- sunkissed 22 from Lionskins , which has a wonderful shimmery greenish gold shadow and nude lips, with of course the lickable tummy.

Too Much Fun!

Seriously it all started with a car. when Digit was interviewed for a TV show here in Phils Place we got a bit silly after the shoot. She rezzed a car that she had and it was a teeny tiny car, craaazy tiny and so cute. Then when we were setting up for Hair Fair I rezzed it and Paisley knew of the store it came from, as mine was sent to me by Digit I hadn’t been, So Mikayla, Washu,Pailsley and I all ran over and OMGosh that store is just crazy fun.

The Store is Curio Obscura and WOW!, I couldn’t believe the incredible items that this store has, once I got my sights on these Uber Platforms they had to be mine. Uber they certainly are, its like being on fashionable stilts, they are craaaazy fun. Not only do they have the incredible platforms but the pics you see of the different texture variations are all scripted into the boots, and there are so many to choose from, you will have tonnes of fun.

So when I put on the Scene Queen style from Deviant Kitties from Hair Fair, I just knew that this hairstyle needed some totally scene grabbing extras and these boots are just perfect. The hair is Beautifully styled, full with sleek eye covering swept bangs, and the little addition of the wonderful tiara with skulls that you can choose to wear or not, depending on your mood, as it is a seperate attachment.

Keeping up with the Goth version of the boots, and the skulls on the tiara I added the Lulu Skelly socks from Celestial Studios, I love these and each pack comes with different scales of the colour pack, and also you get leggings versions as well as socks. Feeling more like a Princess than a Queen I wanted to be all prettyful, so straight to one of my favourite cocktail frocks with the Posh Dress from CKS Designs, I love this dress its so swish swish girly girl.

The skin is from Lion Skins and is the SUZANA-pale 4 beautiful lips and the smokey grey eyes was just perfect for this whole look. I really love the plummy softness of the full lips, mixed with the grey it is a gorgeous palette.

Now some more Yummy Grey, as soon as I saw the release of Pinstripe Princess from Icing it had to be mine. Not only for my love of Grey and especially with red, but of course my love of the System Skirt. Icing always does this style outfit so incredibly well. Beautiful design and texture work making it a sleek and stylish look for any affair. Underneath it I am wearing the N°9 Nylons Highwaist Seamed Pantyhose, these are fantastic, N°9 Nylons has so many incredible stocking/pantyhose and underwear sets and if you love your vintage looks you definitely have to check them out.

Under the pantyhose I am wearing the Be Mine lingerie sets bra and panties by Ingenue which works out well as I am also wearing one of the new Hair Fair styles Lamour also by Ingenue. Its incredible how creative and talented our designers in Phils Place are, especially when they spread their wings wide, its an adorable style, beautifully arranged and in lovely textures.

Perfect for a Vintage Classic look like this one is the Ekota T strap heels from Enkythings. The original Ekota heels were a release at Shoe Fair and marvelous, but the new T Strap version are just splendid and sooo appropriate as I said for this look, and this era. Whether for the office or play you will shine in these shoes. PALE-LionSkins-8 by Lion skins as you can see is soft with just a hint of blush on the cheeks, in keeping with the innocence of the era, pale skin and red lips but with a slight sheen is just lovely.

The instant I see a fedora I think Gangster, and I am sure I am not the only one. One of the big whispers around the week before Hair Fair was ‘Torrid Does Hair ?” yes yes she does. Torrid has always had hair in her TorridWear store, as far back as I remember, but this year she decided to launch New Hair and WOW! I cant wait to see more styles from her in the future. Fedorable LaRoux is this gorgeous Hat/Hair style with texture change hat to either black or a rich divine brown, and texture change band with many colours to choose from. Beautiful rich side pony draped over the shoulder in rich textures, I had to also grab the shorter bun style version as well (not shown).

When at Torrid’s booth at Hair Fair there is also a freebies box/bag set out with two yummy poses as shown in the pic, so make sure you grab those. What better outfit to do my impression of a Gangster than the Bloody Amaryllis set from Bare Rose , this is an old set and just HOT! The shirt and hotpants are just yummy with or without the stockings , this set is something you could play around with to make different looks, just by removing the gun and holster and the knife , which are too cute in a guns and knifes on me are like a handbag , totally accessories nothing more.

The fabulous New Silvera pumps from Dela are beautiful patent look leather in wonderful colours also, sturdy heel for that getaway once you do whatever Gangsters do. I really like the gloss look to this style and the extra curve at the toe cleavage, bringing the shoe slightly away from the foot for a more realistic look.

SUZANA- sunkissed 10 by Lionskins, no lipstick smudges to leave at the scene of the crime just gorgeous smokey eyes and heavy liner, a Gangstress can’t be wasting time with too much make up, it might leave traces behind.
