Mainstore Monday – Bloggers Challenge – Mina Hair
Todays Mainstore Monday is about Mina Hair…if you have not been keeping along with the Mainstore Monday Bloggers Challenge, you will find more information HERE. I have known Mina Nakamura for so many years now, she actually used to rent a store at my region The Deck which I closed up a few years ago due to RL just getting too much at the time to juggle both— and the many other things I do. She was a great tenant, and is a wonderful friend. She has been creating hair in Second Life for well over a decade now, and some of her collaboration pieces have been very noteworthy, the first that springs to mind is her part in Aquasense with Salt & Pepper. Through scripted interaction with water, hair went from dry to wet and back again, with some fun hairdryer props and animations. Mina has also done some great hairbases on her own mesh options, so that her hairbases carry across various heads regardless of the UV used. One of my favourite things though, would have to be her original reluctance to do hat/hair, but then just busting out and doing a fair few styles as well as some gorgeous roleplay based looks. Hair with blindfolds, Hair with scarves and circlet leather looks, and we can’t forget when she splashes blood on things during the scary season.
Her store is a well planned out build, sections dedicated to newer content, and older styles. A good welcome area that lays it all out for you, if she is part of events, and what her contact options are. I especially like that she has a free to new residents hairstyle out if less than 30 days in world, and a considerable amount of group gifts, that you can get, new and older. The group to join is 200L but you get much more than that in value of full packs of hairstyles, so it is up to you to decide if worth it…I did not miss a beat.
Mina is very aware of social media, always making sure she is on whatever platform is available to residents with her brand. She actually had an issue with Instagram recently, so did have to move to another account, so if you have not followed her newer one, please do.

Back to her store, it is not just that the build and the layout is nice and cohesive, but I really enjoy that she created a space out the front for shoppers to enjoy, chill a bit and just enjoy the space. Always nice when creators want their customers to feel relaxed in their environment. I did a bit of a stroll, then a nice sit and read moment. I am wearing an older release called Dorie, this is one of those styles mentioned where the hairbase is an actual mesh piece and the hairbase applies to it regardless of the head type. Then the add ons are added separately and the fabulous bangs I plan on using in other moments. I especially love the soft tendrils falling from the buns, and they come rigged and unrigged, for versatility. I even added my Paddington Pins for fun and because I got to be all colour coordinated with my outfit. This snuggly sweater by Ison and these New pants by Mellow Elie. The bottoms of the pants made me giggle a bit, as I have mentioned in the past I am tall in RL so these pants end by cutting them where many things in my life ended without them wanting to. So this was another of those Second Life moments I would never experience in RL— like all shoes fitting the size of my feet. Speaking of feet, these shoes are a gift from Coco designs and were so perfect for the colours of the outfit. This is twice I have done Mainstore Mondays and ended up that everything I have on is only at Mainstores, I did not intend it, it just happened, and I am glad of that, it continues the intent of the post.
