I was smitten by Sparkle Skye’s Blossom Wreaths in advance of the event, Sparkle was showing me WIP’s as she went and it was an exciting process. Usually I only see Hair Fair releases at the time of set up, so I walk around going Ooooo Ahhhh Oooo for hours and hours, for four days. The wreath comes in single and double strand and not only are they just gorgeous and delicate, they also are MOD, so I was able to move them into place as needed, which was just a wonderful ability.
When I saw the Vinette hair by Alli & Ali I knew that I had to have it. The fact that the double stranded braids wrapped around this pixie style cut, was just a bonus, so I was able to line up the wreath with the braids and create this beautiful look. The braids of the style create their own crown like look, but then the addition of the wreath is not only regal looking but also very playful, I love that it can turn from glamorous to very flower child with just what you decide to wear with them.

She said Destroy was a new to me store – I hadn’t gotten out a lot from one Hair Fair to the next these past few years. The store was a dream, the instant I entered it I was blissing out at the possibilities and the creator behind the brand was an absolute joy to interact with leading up to and during the event set up. The Liv Hat is a masterpiece for anyone like me that is Hat and Hat Hair obsessed, this hat is the style that works with almost everything, and I just adore the embellishments in the metal and the textures available by the HUD.

The Liv hat looks amazing on a number of hairs available at Hair Fair, but I went with Dasha straight out of the gate, because I do love me some straight Wasabi – This style hits all the straightness love, with some bobby-pins at the horn line, yes you heard it here first, I decided that as they were higher than the temples and not at the top that I had to come up with somewhere explanatory, that you would just by reading (seeing as a hat is covering them) know where on the hair they were positioned, let me know if you got it. Because Wasabi provides a multitude of options with their hairs, style huds, colour packs that just make me always want to colour my hair and so on, the choice of sizes for head and bust make it easy to choose a smaller size to fit easily under the hat, and the hat having a resize script option makes it such a great mix.

Ersch has created some incredible accessories for this years Hair Fair, her whole collection is an homage to her home country Ukraine and they are divine items, that had me in awe of not only her talent, but the beauty of a whole culture. I went with the Hope Tears, the superb floral attachments that are separate left and right and have pearl inners, there are so many colours to choose from via the HUD so you can create magnificent looks with them. I just happened to also have a small rosebud choker in gold that I paired up with them and brought it all together nicely.

Mina has been working hard on creating a system that works across as many head types as she can, with one applier or bom base only needed. Now full disclosure I personally do not use the versions that sizes are provided for, so I had to come up with a mix option, but that is also great as a possibility, because then you pretty much are set no matter what. The Florine hair, which is a stunning bubble braid, comes with the inbuilt hairbase mesh, and braid, or the braid as a separate attachment, which I have on. There is also an add on layer for the finer hairs. Then a bangs attachment, with the hair you get the styling and colour texture hud for the braid and a separate one for the bangs options, as they also have left and right and middle part options. The bangs are unrigged so you can move them around as needed.

I do love a braid down the back, but when I had the braid sitting on one side and put on this dress, I laughed at the idea that the heavy braid was pushing my strap off my shoulder and that is how it stayed. Sometimes in SL things just come together perfectly, like the fact that Mina and Ersch stores are side by side but when I put them together for the post that wasn’t planned either.

It has been a long time since I have done an actual post, and I will admit to being very overwhelmed by it all. It’s silly, really, after 17 years of blogging about Second Life, but all of a sudden I am shy. Just as well I believe so strongly in the subject matter. Today I do my first post on this years Hair Fair and while a week already in, it has been an incredible ride again this year. Such wonderful content creators have joined the event, some for the first time, some returning after breaks and some that do the event each and every year. I am so glad to be able to interact with them leading up to and during the event each and every time.

The theme for this years Hair Fair Hares ended up Gardening, do not ask me how exactly, but it happened. I had so much fun creating the little add on pieces of mesh. So when I saw that Geek created a set of Headphones that had a sprout option it made me even happier. The sprout even wiggles a merry little dance as you wear them, which is just adorable, as they do strongly advise playing music to plants. The colour coordination options for the headphones are fantastic. Even if you choose one colour, you can still accent it with the HUD. I was able to choose this colour combination, and thanks to the magic of having a creator who owns two brands (Vinyl), the bomber jacket had the same colour range to make mix and matching a breeze.

Now about this hair. Ni.Ju has created this feathery styled bob length style that is a stand out style for many, but not only have I seen it on lots of people so far in various ways, I just loved that because of the way it was created, that putting on the headphones made it look like the tightness of them against the hair caused the flapping out feathery sides, so they were a pairing without even planning it. I have also seen a stunning picture paired with a hat also from Hair Fair that created that same stunning outcome. The bangs are also just divine. So I am really glad that Ni.Ju joined us this year and is already looking forward to next, which makes me very happy.

This year meant even more to me, and I am so grateful to all of those that created bandanas, decorated them, purchased them and also feel in love with the Hares, as much as I have, I finally found a way to wear them all at once ♥ You still have time to get yours, the event closes at Midnight SLT

There are so many fun and surprising items at this years Hair Fair. Bliensen + Maitai used their skills to create these amazing hairdryer accessories, wall mounts, table decor and this fantastic animated hairdryer using flexi for the cord. A hud with all different texture options, so much fun, and the animation worked out so well for this style by Kokolores that has the front of the hair raised as though being blown by a dryer. Kokolores has some great unisex shorter styles available, and this one was just perfect.

Nantra joined us this year with this fun set of poses that gives you a hair brush to sing into, I doubt there are many on the planet that have not at one time sung into their hairbrush and Nantra nailed it with this set. The hair by Exile was perfect to show some colour, some getting my groove on in the middle of getting ready for a raging night out. Using the poses and my Lelutka Axis hud for the face animations, this was so fun.

I am a huge hat fan as you already know, so these two great hats by Equal had me very happy, then add on to that that Pr!tty did some bangs add ons as their release I was able to combine some and resize and place them so that they looked like the hair style was all up and under the hat and tendrils escaping. The reason that this was easy was of course that Pr!tty made their bangs MOD \o/ which made me incredibly happy. It was great fun putting this together, and I look forward to them having more mod items in future, so that stuff like this is achievable.

ADE did beautiful styles this year, as always 🙂 and their gift style is beautiful. This hair I am wearing on the left is Melody and it has options for style and left back right back, behind shoulders and forward of shoulders with so many sizing options for the chest area it is fantastic.

The Opale hair was a great option to showcase the Miura headband, I love the dead straight look and then the beautiful headband with so many fabric and metal options.

Astralia did such fun and vibrant styles this year, I definitely felt a Coachella vibe and ran with it. The hair not only has great hair colour options but you can even choose from many options of colours for the flowers and come up some stunning looks, there is even black in there, which would create such a great macabre look.

The ponytail tied off with a scarf is great fun too, casual or dressy and lots of options of print or solid colours to choose from, but you may have realised by now I am a camo fan.

Sintiklia created this beautiful feathery updo style, tendrils a plenty. I really loved the look enough to mix with the Venge hairsticks also at Hair Fair 2022. The options for the updo are great, you get different rigged versions as well as unrigged and add on parts. There are different materials settings and just a great selection of colours to choose from.

I had so much fun with these looks. I have to say I totally copied the creator of Grasshopper St. by wearing one of her stunning hats with dreads. She turned up to set up her booth that way and I was instantly in love with the look, and have been thinking about it ever since. Also not only did Grasshopper St. make some gorgeous items for the event (the hat and the gorgeous hair comb) but she also donated some divine turbans to us for the bandana booths, where the sale of each will donate 100% to Wigs for Kids. Her items are so pretty, and I look forward to wearing them with many other looks in future. 

The dreads are by CAMO and they they are not only great in style, but they are always really low complexity as it is a very important thing to the Camo creator to make sure their items are well optimised. A hairbase is included that is tintable and the metal rings and crowns in the dreads have different colours on the HUD.

The fun style by Curious Kitties instantly had me thinking Geisha, so I liked creating this very modern take on the look, with the haircomb from Grasshopper St. Which has a great texture change assortment of colours.

The Fantavatar & Moonstruck style is so soft and well structured that even though a theme hairstyle, its softness and beauty makes it possible to either theme or glamorise the look. I used the Sap hairbase again and adding some celestial themed jewellery made it all fun.
