Such stunning lines, and the ability to actually create a realistic plastic straps style dress, is what makes Faenzo a store to keep on watching. This truly is one of those marvels that only mesh could have given us, and it is a delight in all colours. There will be some clipping with over exaggerated poses and Ao’s but standing still and ladylike movement is what this style is all about.

This is one of those times that we give thanks to skin creators that give us many breast options, because cleavage enhanced skin for this style is a no no, unless of course you are wearing a few metres of duct tape under there. So please go with the no cleavage options, to really give this dress the beautiful look it deserves.

The cleavage attention is grabbed by this beautiful locket by Yummy, a recent release that also has matching bracelets. You need to get on over and see if it is gift-able, because its a stunning item for this coming Valentines. Or simply treat yourself, as not only are there the ‘I love you’ options but also filigree styles.

The dress needed something dressier, so I opted for the Opera Gloves that are appliers compatible with the Slink hands. You just turn off your nails with the Utilities HUD that comes with the hands, and then turn ON the tattoo option, then use the appliers for the gloves and you are done. I also upped my hands size, by changing my hand size in shape under Torso settings, I felt they were a little on the smaller size for my avatar, and as a hand is usually the length of your face I went with 40 and now they feel just right.

The marvelous ‘lets go out and dance the night away’ shoes, or Savannah for short, are by Lindsey Warwick handmade shoes. They are also Slink compatible, and go with the Mid feet, as add ons. The shoes coming out of that store of late are just great, it is a real treat to see the different types of footwear being created from week to week…remember when we used to have to wait months for shoes, that is all over now.

The hair atop my head is the NEW Clawtooth style about to hit the Collabor88 shelves when it opens for another round on the 8th, so hold on tight, this is going to be one huge trip across the galaxy and back.

Only a few days left of My Attic, and also Collabor88 has a week left. Make sure you visit both and get all the goodies. I fell for the cardigan from Emery as soon as I saw it, but loved the home comfort kind of vibe it had, and decided that it would be totally something to grab when there is a chill in the air, and you may be waiting on your loved one, for a romantic night by the fireplace.

The fireplace is from The Loft, and is part of many fine pieces in the Casolare range. The other gorgeous items are the chairs and light fixture that I rezzed from the dining set, the chairs are gorgeous enough to also be free standing seating for any room in the house. A firm favourite from a past collection is the hide rug, also a The Loft piece, so if you are after a nice rug, this one is perfect.

The other day I wore the bra of this beautiful mesh lingerie set, but this time decided to go the full set in a chocolate colour. It is from collabor88 and it fit really well under the cardigan, a tiny bit of clipping with the bra strap if you don’t combine sizes properly, but only when the shoulders are rolled forward in some poses, so definitely a great combination.

The hair is by Mina, and hopefully everyone has stood back recently at her last few releases and gone WELL DAMN! because Mina has changed not only her hair textures but levelled up all over the place when it comes to creating must have styles. This Nikky hair is just gorgeous for those that love a mid length style, and the red is glorious. This delight is currently at My Attic, and as all items at My Attic, it is only 95L a pack, so hurry up. The skin I am wearing is by Deetalez and is an exclusive of the Jarla skin, that is at My Attic as well, you could totally do over a whole avatar this round, and this skin is just beautiful. I need to go and get the others, because they are all so pretty and you can get appliers for slink hands and feet at her store, so its all really awesome.

Lastly the beautiful strand of pearls around my neck with the satin bow are by Yummy, one of the items at Collabor88 this round and there are earrings and a more posher – yes you can say more posher because you just can roight! – version of pearls also available. Honestly the Yummy items at Collabor88 are often so detailed and just truly precious items, that they are collectibles in their own right. They are pieces that if you came across them in a vintage store, or an Auction you would be crazy not to snap them up, so with them being so readily available to us at C88 don’t make the mistake of not doing so.

My first post of the year, it seems like I was slacking I am sure, but alas no cable for the first few weeks of the year. Huge clumps of Sydney were down, and my area was the worst apparently. If anyone in SL works for my service provider, I apologise for the screaming. I should probably apologise to my neighbors as well , there was so much rage. The first thing I did when I logged in, was rez the NEW Maitreya item from Collabor88, ripped open the boxes to find the lace overlay of the vintage lace gown…hoping that it was as I knew it would be. To my delight it was, a separate piece, that meant I could wear it exactly how I wanted to, with the couture leggings, and this great bra from Faenzo. Then to top it off the vintage posture collar, also by Maitreya.

Because the stunning piece is lace, it does mean its loaded with alpha channels, so do make sure you wear a hairstyle that is non rigged, or above the shoulders, so it doesn’t cut into the dress. Another item I could not wait to wear, the Volta shoes by League…now you need to just run over to League right now, regardless of what you like, because she is having a HUGE 50% OFF Sale – not all the newer items are included in the sale, but honestly you could do some real damage with all the older items as well.

The shoes are amazing, with so many features in the hud, especially if you have the fat pack! The fatpack allows for mixing of colours, so you can have pink and red shoes, or blue and brown and so on. There are also great metalic options for the glorious studs.

I wanted to also show some of the delightful furniture pieces from this round of C88. The hutch by Pilot is definitely a great staple for any home, I am sure with all the collectibles many acquire from events like The Arcade, this is a nice piece to have. The other fantastic piece, is the Astrid chair by Trompe Loeil, this chair is a great take on a windsor seat, and I love the bucket style and high armrests. The whole thing comes in at 3LI which is just an incredible demonstration of great modeling from Cory Edo, to keep so much detail but not run up the LI. The hutch is also only 3LI, so Pilot and Trompe Loeil are definitely must visit stores when next decorating your home.

My Attic is up and going strong, all items are 95L each for the duration, and the nails I am wearing are some of my own I created for the event. So make sure you go and visit and scoop up all the goodies.

So earlier today KMADD had some mens pants happening, and early on in my Second Life, I was a Manager of a menswear store – how I met Grazia Horwitz actually, she was doing an article on women wearing mens clothing – and as I wore mens suits and other items all the work day, I had to have a look. The pants are gorgeous two tone wool pants, and even though the sizing is a little different, and there was a tiny bit of clipping at my hips, nothing a slight shape change wouldn’t fix…the pants are just too good to let men have all to themselves.

Maybe we an encourage KMADD to make them for girls too, but until then, demo away, and if they work for you, then do as I did and wear them. The new wool cardigan from Maitreya, hid the clipping so no shape change needed, but overall the look is just fabulously fashionable. The cardigan will fit with many looks, and its lovely wool texture is suitable well into spring.

The pants are made for men, so heels are not going to work too well with them, unless you can move them around a bit, but I opted for the Mila flats from Ingenue, add on shoes for the flat slink feet. The contrast of tones throughout the look make me very happy, and the oversized bag from Ison, just adds to the charm.

Finishing off the look is the glorious new hair from Lelutka, Trevail. I have a feeling I am going to live in this hair for a while, the centre part has a great 70’s vibe to it, and I just really like everything about it.

Sometimes I think you think I exaggerate about the Whimsy Winx of naughtiness. I got an IM last week from Sofia, asking what the huge glowing boxes were all over the studio. So I had to explain to Whimsy that she has to stop trying to grief me, as I am not the only one using the area lol. So two days ago I log in to my studio and my work area TAGGED!

Seriously as I have said before, if she put as much effort into things that she does on being naughty with me, it would be a greater world. She just landed as I am typing this, and she doesn’t speak, just photo bombs me, not knowing HA I have already done my pics. But now she is taking ‘Selfies’ beside me. The most entertaining person ever she is.

I was wearing most of this outfit yesterday in the post I did on Serious Request, and had to leave the main portions on for todays post. SySy spent an age creating these fabulous tweed skirts, and they also come in a denim version, must haves and so well modeled.  The denim and the stitching is all hand made, no sourcing, and she even created her own SY button for full effect, very cool, and they will be marvelous for all seasons, so they are a fast favourite.

The jacket was an older release from Elate, and fits well over the skirt, as do most things, as it was made to sit low enough. The jacket has a great equestrian feel to it. Wearing with the gorgeous Demi boots from Slink, if you didn’t get during Shoetopia, you need to go get them now for sure. They work with the High feet that are also NEW.

Other NEWNESS are my poses, and accessories by Meisu, a new store that has some great items and at fantastic prices. I love the rings, which are a steal fatpack wise, and come in gold and silver versions, as do the bags. The clutch is so cool I even overlooked the fact that the inside is purple, my only wish would be to have that texture change, but even without, it is delish.

I am wearing another of the great Birdy skins from The Arcade, I am fully addicted to the Blair face, and adding the teeth tattoo from Amacci, just makes me super happy.

When I joined SL back in 06, you could not take a step without meeting a Dutch person. They were everywhere, and added so much to Second Life as a large community of people, proud and passionate. I remember going to the Amsterdam sim, and just walking along the waterways, and enjoying the little stores that were built along there. There was also a huge club and other Amsterdam like activities, but I was enamored by the replication of the city more so.
The Dutch have always been so happy and helpful in Second Life, I think they are hugely responsible for many staying here and going on to making a really big mark on Second Life as a whole, and definitely so when it comes to the Fashion community. Two such lovely creators are of course SySy Chapman, and Mina Nakamura, who are both part of an inspiring event that is annually held in both SL and RL.

The Serious Request event is going on right now in Second Life, and starts tomorrow in RL. Where in both places DJ’s are locked inside a Glass house for many days, and do not eat during that time. They do 4 hour shift on air, and play requests that are given to them from the donating public. This is an amazing thing and raises a huge amount of money in RL for such great causes. You can find information about this years cause on their website HERE . You can do your part by tping over to the event, and giving support by not only donating , but also moral support for the people giving of their time, to commit to this wonderful event. I spent a few hours there this evening with SySy Chapman and Sofia Gray, as well as the lovely hostesses – One of which is getting married in the Glass house tomorrow – and the DJ, and the owner of the Sim Tyrek. Not only was it fun to see all the chatter in Dutch, but they were so friendly and spoke in english even though I was the only english speaker there, the Dutch are incredibly hospitable, another thing they are world wide famous for in my opinion, well Down Under they are definitely known for it :).

There are items being auctioned on boards, as well as huge donation boards at the dance area, and you can click on the panel at the glass house to let the DJ know your requests as you donate. No amount is too small, and everything you donate encourages everyone involved. At the end of the event – the reason that the SL one ends before the RL one – the money raised in SL is taken to the real Glass House event, and donated…and from what SySy tells me, this is just a glorious thing to be part of here in Second Life, and as well in Real Life.

There is also the coolest bar of soap you can buy on the website, that has CLEAN as raised text, and I think its great, I have to check if they deliver my way, because I want one. If you don’t want to donate in SL that would be a great way to do your part, its only 5 Euros which SySy says is about 1500L.

SySy also has items in her mainstore, that you can purchase that donate to the event, as well as an upcoming Auction item that will be Auctioned on the same day as Mina’s , which is this Thursday, so try and head on over for that.

Teleport to Serious Request in Second Life 

One of the new participants in the most recent Hair Fair, was Deco, and it was great to see their creations, and their booth style. I fell instantly in love with two of their styles, one was for men, and had a beard, but I loved it. The other style was the one I am wearing today, Bobby. This style is just perfect with everything I am wearing, and the stray hair across the front of the face just adds so much appeal to this wintry look.

Collabor88 opened yesterday, and wow at the incredible warmness spreading joy across Second Life. The first time at the event, is Maitreya, and what a way to kick off the year, with this oversized coat and panel leggings. The coat has shorter sleeve options or extensions, I think that they are a lot of fun, because you can mix and match with various other coat colours, or even wear the extensions with other items. I went matchy though with this look, and pulled out an old favourite turtleneck Savoir from Maitreya to slip into underneath.

The Yummy release is this amazing infinity scarf in the biggest softest yarn available. The colours compliment eachother perfectly, true to Collabor88 tradition. I have an odd thing about cool feet when I am warm though, so without bundling into too much, seeing it is a sweltering 90 degrees where I am right now… I went with the lovely mary jane saddle shoes from Sax Shepherd, that are add ons for the Slink Flat feet.

Sax has been making splendid add ons, and started out as a jewellery store, so I look forward to seeing them grow from that, into a really wonderful accessories and footwear store. The shoes come with a huge hud, with many options, so you will have a lot of fun with them. The skin I am wearing is another of the Birdy skins at The Arcade, I am so happy with this skin, it really is just gorgeous, in every different tone and type it comes with, I have to go and get some more when I have time, every time I get a new one, it is just more love.

The location for this shoot was actually at The Deck , thanks to the very talented and bratty Whimsy Winx, who likes to just change the sim at a moments notice, and pouts and sooks until I let her. As many times as I say NO, she has a comeback as to why I should, and just continues to rez things regardless of what I say. She certainly makes the sim beautiful though, so stop by and have a look yourself, if you need some great snow and trees, or just feel like ‘chillin’.

When I was little no one explained to me what an advent Calendar was. I got one as a gift, and proceeded to eat all the chocolates in one day, and got a terrible tummyache. I actually never got one again after that. It wasn’t until Second Life really that I got to understand the concept of them. A small gift a day for the 25 days until Christmas. Seems like a lot of spoiling to me, but then I was spoiled at Christmas by my Mummy anyway.

This year, we are being spoiled by Trompe Loeil in a novel way. This months The Arcade is full of beautiful items, but this Advent Calendar is its own piece of art, decoratively speaking. The Calendar is actually free at the front of the Gatcha machine, and then you play for keys. The keys must be rezzed on the ground near the tree and by doing so, the tree unlocks a door and you will see a miniature gift, and then that gift is sent to you life sized. The first being this beautiful Recycled Wood photoframe. It is really lovely, and each play on the machine is only 25L, so however many keys you get, you can swap doubles with friends to get them all.

Other beautiful items include this Christmas table and plate of cookies by Apple Fall. The cookies are delicious looking, and I love that these types of ideas are now things that people do in RL with food as gifts. The table is also so gorgeous, it will really enhance your home.

Another exciting thing about this The Arcade, is that Exile has made clothing, and by clothing I mean an all in one dress and hair look, that also has hud options of different fabrics and colours depending on the rares you get from the gatchas. I am definitely excited about this, as I do hope it will mean even more clothing from Exile. Peeking through the hood is the face from Glam Affair called Gemma. sweet and youthful, so much so that I am even wearing the freckles options.

Finishing off the look with the stunning sling back shoes by Ingenue, that are also from The Arcade. Everytime Betty Doyle makes add on shoes for the Slink feet, they just get better and better and more imaginative, and these would have to be a fast favourite, with the peeptoe front and slingback with a pretty ribbon bow embelishment, they are delish.

Whimsy and I spent the morning doing the rounds of all the incredible Yard Sales on for The Arcade event. You can find a huge list of them on the fantastic Seraphim SL Website HERE . We do also visit The Arcade itself, we actually both love the event, but because we are not overly fussed about ‘what’ to get, as we generally like it all, we tend to pick up bits and pieces at the sales, so that the sellers can go back and spend even more.

Must Haves for me though were the Sleepy Eddy Engineer Boots, that are made for a larger foot, most likely mens, but they are editable, and were a breeze to edit. Once I edited one to fit, I used the copy and paste options in Firestorms edit tab to transfer the same sizing to the other boots. They really are beautiful work, and look great with the pieces I am wearing from Collabor88. The theme for this past month has been industrial chic, and honestly I have really enjoyed the items that were created for it. You will have a lot of fun mixing and matching, and this sweater from UFO is a great zipper sided loose look, great for layering over mesh pants, or system ones like I am wearing.

To finish off the look, my new little friend Squirrel is made by Anya Ohmai. Honestly if it wasn’t for her and her sister Suetabulous Yootz, I think that Sl would be a different place, they definitely add some of the most endearing creations to the world, and they are as beautiful on the inside,  as their creations are on the outside.

Shoetopia is almost coming to an end, so is My Attic for another session. While good things come to an end, it leaves the way for New things to begin. The Arcade is going to start on the 1st of December, and so is the Stuff in My Inventory HUNT that I am participating in with Flair.

The last total I saw so far for Shoetopia was over 5000USD, which is an incredible effort, and there are still days to shop for all the wonderful shoes created for this event. I have been unable to blog as much as I wanted to, because I had mouse issues, and honestly, as much as we know we use our mouse in the day to day functions of computer use, it really is astounding how complicated things can get when they malfunction. I was able to get a new one today though, a snazzy 7 button mouse, not that I need that many anymore, as I haven’t been gaming for a long time, but one never knows.

I was aching to blog these boots since day one of the event. I got caught up though, and really wanted to create another look that while winterish, wasn’t exactly snow overload. I think I found a nice in between, kind of a punked out wintery look, with the great boots by League, that if you have not fatpacked these, you are insane. The HUD for the fatpack has so many combinations of awesome, that you can go on for days and days, they will definitely see you through this winter and beyond.

Tucked into them are the leather leggings from Tres Blah and a really old top from BOOM. Finishing off the look is this great vest from Pink Outfitters – House of London, that is at My Attic. Only two days left of that too, so don’t miss out on everything there being only 95L. The skin I am wearing is also at My Attic, and not only do you get the skin in all sorts of combinations of brows and cleavages, but also appliers for Hands, Feet, Lolas and Lush breasts…all for only 95L its a STEAL!.
