Hair Fair 2024 – Truth Sparkle Skye
I knew as soon as I saw this adorable fascinator hat by Sparkle Skye, what I was going to wear it with. Then the whole look came together, and when you have an inventory like mine, it is no wonder you have street lights just laying around for prop use – mind you they are also the same street lights I used at Hair Fair, so that tracks. I loved the idea of a dapper look, with the fascinator being so girly and feminine, I wanted to even out the scales there and add a bit of masculine to the look. Then it turned into a whole singing in the rain kind of vibe, and what better hair to pull that off with than the Breeze style by Truth.
What I like most about this hair, is that with the settings options for style, you can tame it down or really lean into the wind. Lucky my Kaori Mini Hat is well pinned on. Again I am playing around with the lovely colour options of this style, actually adding the streaks option for the soft greyish pink to the more grey overall colour, it really came out lovely just a subtle add to give more realism.
I have mentioned my underwear a few times this week, so wanted to point out that the bustier portion of the suit, is sheer, but can also be turned off…now we know I do not do sheer with nothing under, so I grabbed one of the newer underwear sets by Nuve the cherry set, and tinted the white lace away, and it was the perfect fit – I love me some mod! The hat is also mod, and I am going to be making it different sizes in future for different looks for sure. It also comes with net or silk fabric options, as well as feature options of colours depending on what packs you purchase.

Hair Fair 2024 – BlkBuni MyBags
I love the imagination of Second Life content creators, such as the case with this adorable netted hat by MYBags. It gives Steamboat Willy vibes – that is allowed now he is public domain…or kind of like a member of the extended family in mourning, either way I am here for it. What is even more funna, is that the style of hair from BlkBuni came with UNRIGGED – does a little dance – versions of the braids, so I was able to wiggle here and prod there and get them to sit well under the hat.
Again combinations of hats and add ons, just make for good clean fun. It is really fun to take the inspiration a creator had, and then just run all over with it, and make it your own. I am so glad we have such opportunities here, and it definitely gives me something to talk about. I added a nice red nod with the Legend earrings by Mandala, they are so fluffy and beautiful, with a lot of customising options, so the perfect accompaniment to the look.

Hair Fair 2024 – ADE Mewsery
As mentioned earlier in the week, usually my go to for hair is black, but the ADE Fatpack HUD had me doubting all my choices, not in a bad way, in a I need more heads way. I wanted to wear them all, so many incredible blends and colours to choose from. I really loved this brown grow out look, so I kept coming back to that and finally shot my picture. I was totally caught off guard by this hair, because the ad bore a striking resemblance to Sabrina Carpenter, and I was just about to say that to Adedarma while he was setting up his Hair Fair booth, when I realised that the name of the hair ‘Nonsense’ was one of her songs, that I had only just heard in the hour before that. I got hooked on Sabrina from her stint in ‘Girl meets World’ I thought she was amazing in that role, and while she is a great entertainer music wise, I still hope she does a whole lot more acting in future, I did also like “Work it” because I am a sucker for a dance movie.
I felt that I needed to change out the look a little though, so adding one of the Exclusive items by Mewsery this amazing headband, really gave it some fun and flavour. I am kind of giving off a dance video look – in my head this is a thing, so lets just let me live out my fantasy shall we. The headband is so cute, and has a lot of options with the HUD for customising it to your taste. I love the items Mewsery bought to her first Hair Fair, I am going to keep her forever now.

Hair Fair 2024 – She Said Destroy Platinum
It is cold outside, and inside, because it is Winter in Australia, and it has only just begun and I decided that this was the perfect time to show off my new Trapper hat by She Said Destroy which is a Hair Fair exclusive and just so fluffy and warm, it is helping my mindset for real life and this fire is helping too. I love hats in Second Life, I especially love Hat Hair, but as much as I beg and plead, that does not happen that often. Often people struggle with what hairs to wear with their hat purchases, but not I, because I am a hairbase girl, and with add ons, or styles that work with hair bases, you can often find a great combination, such as this style from Platinum that is also at Hair Fair 2024.
I especially like that you can pretend that these fluffy buns are hiding up under the hat all along, and when you take off the hat, boing out they come. The long sleek bangs attachment just fits perfectly under the brim of the hat, because it is separate from the other pieces, and you also get wisps for the sides, this kind of deconstructed or do it yourself style works fabulously for such needs. The whole style also gave me a chance to rock out my aviator jacket with built in sweater by Ison – the sweater can be turned off so you can wear whatever you like with it. I also get to show off my Harlow Brows from Nuve again, also at Hair Fair but more visible in these pictures.

Hair Fair 2024 – Lamb Nuve The Annex
No catchy title this time, but I am having a moment of absolute beauty right now. The combination of items came together without any planning, and when that happens, as I always say, it is ‘Bloggers Fate’. The Daisy hair from Lamb was an adorable thing to watch come about as the Exclusive. Lamb set up her booth fairly early at Hair Fair, then kept coming back and tweaking, and adding, and moving, and adding, and it all turned into a lovely showcase of her New and previous work in a little vignette. The booths at Hair Fair this year have been just fantastic, and I hope you will enjoy them as much as I have been.
This Daisy style has these beautiful monarch butterflies – I only know that because of the show Under the Dome – as separate attachments, in both animated and static options. You can add as many or as few as you like, and they really add to the look. But if butterflies are not your thing, you can wear the style without them, and there is a lot of style in this hair, the waves are so soft and luxurious. The Style HUD options are only available in particular packs, so make sure you read everything and try the demos first to be sure of your purchase, as you should do with all Second Life purchases…demo! demo! demo!
Now my brows are another great get for Hair Fair this year, in the form of Nuve…my inventory is getting full of Nuve of late, because I am all about her BOM underwear layers, I wear bom underwear with everything, even if using an alpha layer, because they stay no matter what the rezzing is like. So my favorite wearables is many packs of Nuve undies. I have also been binging her skins and brows options…so to have some of the Newest release brows for Hair Fair had me very happy. Many Nuve brows are unisex, which means they are often a heavier brow depending on the style, and I love that, even wearing her Male specific brows for the past few weeks, much to Gogo’s horror, which just makes me like them even more.
Atop of my luxurious locks is this incredible crown by The Annex. This is a previous release item at Hair Fair and it is so many things, all happening separately and at the same time together, that makes sense to me, if you do not understand me, send me a notecard and I will explain with even more words…as I do. No really do not do that, I just mean that you can look at this crown and think you have seen all it is in one look, but then discover something else, then another thing, for instance when I purchased it, I was so wrapped up in the crosses and flowers, that I completely missed the butterflies, that is what I meant by this look not being planned, because I did not realise even when adding it, that the crown had butterflies at all. Truly beautiful…and while I was feeling all soft and majestic at the same time, I added a lovely bodysuit from AlaskaMetro also bakes on mesh, to keep it all pretty.

Hair Fair 2024 – Mirja Sigma AlaskaMetro James & Dew
It sounds like a really high end law firm, or I am getting my Military Alphabet all messed up. Either way the talent involved is epic, such is the case of the whole assortment of creators that are part of this years Hair Fair 2024, which is now open. You can get more information on that HERE – only exclusives shown on the website, so much more to see at the event.. Hair Fair has now included previous releases as an option with the must have Exclusive item in the event. So this gives even more of a showcase of the talent of the creators participating, while you get to buy things you may not have seen in the past and also donate to Wigs for Kids as every purchase donates, previous and exclusive.
I did that thing that I do, where I end up adding weird things to things, to make the idea that I have in my head, and because James & Dew made this incredible hair prop, styling system I had to go a bit further and add a lock of hair, so that it really looked like I was putting the final touches to this gorgeous style by Mirja. It has the perfect sleek and full look of a black and white movie star, and it is glorious.
Now more often than not I have black hair, sometimes a splash of colour and occasionally I go blonde, but when I put on these fantastic laminate lashes by AlaskaMetro – we finally got her into Hair Fair “SLIFE GOALS FOR SASY” – the dark brown look was one I wanted to really work with. So today I am a brunette with highlights!
Sigma also joining us for Hair Fair with one of their amazing hair accessories creations, this leaf clip is so beautiful and comes in an assortment of metal options, so you will be the belle of the ball with such an adornment.
Back to the prop and decor of the James & Dew item, this handheld option has numerous attachment options that you can toggle between, as well as a vast array of colours to choose from. Then poses and animations built in to create your perfect capture. The whole collection has a beautiful leather carry case, that you can rez in your home and/or studio space, with a neatly packed or messy look. Second Life – Inventory Image Feature Tutorial – Part 1
I have had this as a to do post since the day it went live, I use it, talk about it often but had not gotten the kick in the pants that I needed to make that happen. That was until group chat opened in the Blueberry VIP group the other day, and the lovely Ines was mentioning how she organises her inventory and outfits…and went on to mention that the 10L upload fee for the images needed was worth it.
So of course this lead to me having something to say. I respectfully – I hope – interrupted and let her know that due to the “Newish” Second Life feature of ‘Image/s’ you could do the same job at no cost. A hush fell over the group…or lag, one or the other, but I like to be a bit dramatic. Then others mentioned that they did not know of this great new feature, and to tell them more…waves to Ines, Trista, Trinket and Hikari. All lovely Blueberry Group members – I really hope I say their names correctly in the video. So I did a quick and dirty GIF and explained the method and told them that I would do a post on this, as it had been burning a hole in my Blog to do list – that is actually a thing I have.
So I have done a video, where yet again I am out of practice talking to my own avatar – you would think I would have the talking down pat, because I do tend to talk paint off of a wall, but it is the not scripting myself and thinking ten other things about what I am doing in the moment that throws me, so apologies for the occasional trip of the tongue.

A touch of Sparkle
It is less hot down here at the moment, but I am not! because I get to run around the grid adorned with fabulous things. Such fabulousness that I decided that as I walk I make a tinkling sound, because these amazing Hair Sticks by Sparkle Skye just make you want to believe that to be true. They are stunners, and while I have modded them to be smaller because of the hairstyle, they have so much to give as a must have item. Firstly the texture change options, and I mentioned mod already because they are indeed, so that is just all sorts of win. Then you have the fact that they are all separate sticks….do not despair, because they are mod you can of course link them together if you have attachment limits, but I just love that I can wear a single stick or many many sticks, no one can tell you what way you style your look. The mesh work is fabulous and so delicate and femininity. They are currently available at the Sakura Matsuri event, which is all things Sakura, a bit like Sparkle herself.
I went with Silver as the metal choice, because I am also loving these Hoop earrings by Dark Mouse. I have not taken them off since I got them. They were a reboot items for her, and I just love how realistic the silver looks. As well as the other metals available.
I wanted a more fun and casual look for the Hair Sticks so went with creating a mix using a hairbase by NonNative and the buns from a Sintiklia style, I love when you can hybrid designs that way. To further my still summery look I reached for the Spring Pack exclusive that Bluerry has until April 2nd for a ridiculously low price, there are these shorts and a great tshirt that comes in 10 different print options. The shorts have some great prints, some of them even include bunnies, not my particular taste, but they grew on me, the tshirts give off that surfer/skater 80s vibe, so I may or not wear those a hundred times in future.I grabbed a Skin by Insol the other day, how cute is she, then adding some of the new highlighter set layers that Izzie’s has out at The Fifty I am just adorable. There are so many options in the set, you can bring changes to many skins just by adding some highlights, you will have a blast. While there I turned and saw they had a gift set of eyes at Insol, I don’t change eyes much at all, I find a green I like and stick to it, I think long term other than posts I have probably only had 4 changes over the years, but this is definitely a pack I am sticking with for a while, they are stunners. Then adding to that the gorgeous make up stylings of Alaska Metro I am perfect! It is true, my Mum says so all the time, no wait, she says she made me perfect, if anything changed it is my fault.
The poses used for this post are by OMY, I actually use these stands in my inbuilt Firestorm AO, because they are awesome, I am kind of addicted to OMY as a whole store. I use their dances when out and about at live events too, because they are just fun and quirky.

Skin Fair 2024 – Wild about Alaska
I do not think at this point that it is much of a secret really, but I am Wild about Alaska. Alaska Metropolitan that is, not the place, even though I hear it is very beautiful. Alaska has done a lot over the years, but some of the fondest memories are from way back. Alaska has done some innovative things with skins over the years, and I wish I could find the archives to show how incredible it all was, but alas the original blog I blogged on was not my own, so I lost it all, hundreds of posts and millions of words – I do tend to type/talk a lot.
Whenever Alaska releases a new anything I am usually there to grab it, like tonight, I rushed over to the very beautiful NEW event Anthology – that build and the whole layout is gorgeous – to grab her latest release… my AlaskaMetro folder is probably one of the only truly organised folders I have, and probably one of the fullest, because she always includes as many options as possible. Her skin released at Skin Fair 2024 Amber, was the perfect showcase for the New – also at Skin Fair – Morph heads by Genus. A new system that allows you to À la carte your face. What I see happening here will be a lot easier for people to swap and change looks, not just because things are in pieces, but also because there are no real names associated with them, it becomes less personal when it is a generic name vs something you grow very close to, so changing your nose, your base shape of your head or a mouth, may just be a lot easier to experience. Definitely worth trying all on offer, and they have a special discount on offer during Skin Fair.
