The Collection – Ison & Rowne

The Collection 1

The Collection 2

Many of you are too young to remember collections were a huge part of Second Life fashion. Not just two or three items, but full season based collections of tops, bottoms, dresses, and formal wear, all released at the same time. Often with a lot of fanfare such as fashion shows, store events and so on…it was something we waited months for, and stores would not release anything as they put together their collections. It would shock many of you to know that in the olden days some stores only released 6 – 8  times a year,  especially hair stores, as working with prims was a very complicated process.

Collections were everything, you coveted them, you were either lucky enough to walk in and throw all your lindens down and walk out with every fatpack, or you spent months buying piece by piece until you had it all, they were not only collections, but for many became collectibles. Some of you might remember Digit Darkes and her Wicked collection all based on the Musical, that fashion show was epic. Digit was actually a big collections girl, her Antoinette Collection ( I got to model one gown which appeared in the Belgium version of RL Magazine ELLE , picture taken by Grazia Horwitz ) based on the movie was also an incredible and grid stopping release.

LeLutka when they did their Cachet collection had everyone fighting in the change-rooms, and then onto their many other collections and of course Celoe… and Paper Couture once did a runway event that was special invitation only that almost had people jumping from roofs in sadness of not getting in. Then there was Last Call (Whimsy wore Last Call as an homage to the past in her Second Life website screenie)  and just The Quad in general used to tilt the grid when all four stores used to plan to release things at the same time…you would find people stuck in corners of sims with shoes up their bottoms and with a look of total shock that they got into the sim, but now did not know where to start, such gentle creatures :).

Collections were exciting, we waited, we parked on neighboring sims talking to eachother sitting on boxes, and just got so excited by it all. Whimsy and I miss collections like that, we have often said so.

Now Ison and Rowne have collaborated to bring forth their Pre-Fall Collection for a limited time only. The collection will be available in pop up tents on either stores sim, and it will only be available until the 28th of September. Half of the collection will be at one stores sim, the other half on the other, so you will have to visit both. The collection has lovely classic line pieces, that are created to be worn mix and match. The colour pallet is superb, and going into the cooler months for most of the planet, they will definitely be go to pieces. Now again this is limited time only – which I am very sad face about – but make sure you get them, so that months from now when wearing your stunning floor length wool coat and your friend asks where it is from, you can rub it in that its too late for her and grin – ok maybe do not do that, you want to keep your friends.

The items come in various size options, some include Maitreya and Standard Sizing, some Maitreya only, make sure you demo everything as even with standard sizing depending on the style of the item it may run slimmer than your shape, but that is what alphas are for :). I do wish that the items had slink versions, but we cannot have everything maybe future collections will fingers crossed. The collection is released on the 28th of August so get ready to TP as soon as they open the tents.

I am wearing the Mica dress in standard sizing with the Slink Original Physique body. I am standing in the new Malibu summer set by Cheeky Pea, this is her take on living life glamorously…you need to read the magazine on the table, it is very funny and shows how hilarious Isla can be. It is rich and vibrant and the luxury of it suited the style of clothing. I am also wearing some very stylish shoes by Ingenue, that really completed the look perfectly. With all these talks of collections and big grid stopping releases the Elikatira hair had to be worn. Some of you will remember her as ETD the hair store that definitely tilted the grid on many an occasion, Whimsy and I did sit on prims on the side of the sim as she set up her new store, with new styles and new textures way back in 08 and remember people yelling that they saw her, that they knew it must be close to opening, and Elika keeping people up to date with notices as we waited excitedly for the doors to open….those were the days my friends 🙂
