The Collection – Ison & Rowne

The Collection 1

The Collection 2

Many of you are too young to remember collections were a huge part of Second Life fashion. Not just two or three items, but full season based collections of tops, bottoms, dresses, and formal wear, all released at the same time. Often with a lot of fanfare such as fashion shows, store events and so on…it was something we waited months for, and stores would not release anything as they put together their collections. It would shock many of you to know that in the olden days some stores only released 6 – 8  times a year,  especially hair stores, as working with prims was a very complicated process.

Collections were everything, you coveted them, you were either lucky enough to walk in and throw all your lindens down and walk out with every fatpack, or you spent months buying piece by piece until you had it all, they were not only collections, but for many became collectibles. Some of you might remember Digit Darkes and her Wicked collection all based on the Musical, that fashion show was epic. Digit was actually a big collections girl, her Antoinette Collection ( I got to model one gown which appeared in the Belgium version of RL Magazine ELLE , picture taken by Grazia Horwitz ) based on the movie was also an incredible and grid stopping release.

LeLutka when they did their Cachet collection had everyone fighting in the change-rooms, and then onto their many other collections and of course Celoe… and Paper Couture once did a runway event that was special invitation only that almost had people jumping from roofs in sadness of not getting in. Then there was Last Call (Whimsy wore Last Call as an homage to the past in her Second Life website screenie)  and just The Quad in general used to tilt the grid when all four stores used to plan to release things at the same time…you would find people stuck in corners of sims with shoes up their bottoms and with a look of total shock that they got into the sim, but now did not know where to start, such gentle creatures :).

Collections were exciting, we waited, we parked on neighboring sims talking to eachother sitting on boxes, and just got so excited by it all. Whimsy and I miss collections like that, we have often said so.

Now Ison and Rowne have collaborated to bring forth their Pre-Fall Collection for a limited time only. The collection will be available in pop up tents on either stores sim, and it will only be available until the 28th of September. Half of the collection will be at one stores sim, the other half on the other, so you will have to visit both. The collection has lovely classic line pieces, that are created to be worn mix and match. The colour pallet is superb, and going into the cooler months for most of the planet, they will definitely be go to pieces. Now again this is limited time only – which I am very sad face about – but make sure you get them, so that months from now when wearing your stunning floor length wool coat and your friend asks where it is from, you can rub it in that its too late for her and grin – ok maybe do not do that, you want to keep your friends.

The items come in various size options, some include Maitreya and Standard Sizing, some Maitreya only, make sure you demo everything as even with standard sizing depending on the style of the item it may run slimmer than your shape, but that is what alphas are for :). I do wish that the items had slink versions, but we cannot have everything maybe future collections will fingers crossed. The collection is released on the 28th of August so get ready to TP as soon as they open the tents.

I am wearing the Mica dress in standard sizing with the Slink Original Physique body. I am standing in the new Malibu summer set by Cheeky Pea, this is her take on living life glamorously…you need to read the magazine on the table, it is very funny and shows how hilarious Isla can be. It is rich and vibrant and the luxury of it suited the style of clothing. I am also wearing some very stylish shoes by Ingenue, that really completed the look perfectly. With all these talks of collections and big grid stopping releases the Elikatira hair had to be worn. Some of you will remember her as ETD the hair store that definitely tilted the grid on many an occasion, Whimsy and I did sit on prims on the side of the sim as she set up her new store, with new styles and new textures way back in 08 and remember people yelling that they saw her, that they knew it must be close to opening, and Elika keeping people up to date with notices as we waited excitedly for the doors to open….those were the days my friends 🙂

Disco Down

Disco Down

Often things just fall together, like this look that while starting out was not intended to be some party all night long Disco Diva look, it certainly ended up there effortlessly.

It started with the amazing dress by Baiastice that is at the coming round of Uber. It is plunging neckline and oh so high slits on the sides, with middle and back slits also. It is the dress that just lets you love the idea of items made for bodies – in this case the Slink Hourglass – where no alpha is required and you can just shimmy and shake it into the early hours of the next day, or if you are really good the day after that.

The necklace needed a little rotation to get it to work with the dress fit, but it so suits the look, the earrings that match also come in a colour option so perfect for the dress colour of Sangria that I am wearing. I needed an elegant updo that was not too frigid in looks, and this one by En Vogue suited the bill perfectly.

I am still addicted to my Mandala rings at the moment, and rightly so, what is not to love, the golds all tie in beautifully. Then I hit a little snag, it did not last long though, as the clutch I am wearing is mod, which meant instead of the silver sides, I was able to tint it a similar coral like colour and voila I am down and up and hitting the dance-floor.

Finishing it all off with the very decorative shimmer bead curtains by Maxi Gossamer. These are so cool, there are many colour options and I rezzed four and linked them together to create my background after I settled on my colours. The look great with different lighting and are just that perfect add on to any fun home, or party atmosphere.

A Muse Me

A Muse Me

Feeling a lot like a Grecian Muse today, this outfit was put together with the help of the birthday edition of Collabor88. This lovely dress is by Zenith, which has Slink physique and Hourglass options, with the baby-doll style of the dress, it is so swishy and girly. The roses and pearl detailing is remarkable.

The hair is a beautiful style by Tableau Vivant, that came with the delicate and very pretty hair chain attachment separately for different looks. The style is great for off the shoulder looks, giving you a real sense of the outfit.

I am wearing the Shana skin by Glam Affair that is a latest C88 release, I went with some custom black brows, so the skin does not look the same as you will get, so demo, demo, demo. Changing the metals of my beautiful Mandala rings to gold to work with this ensemble was a breeze as everything is included in the HUD.

Lastly the perfect garden like atmosphere with the swing and tree by Cheeky Pea that is at this round of Whimsical, and has a lovely collection of poses that work so well with it, but I did chose to stand and make use of one half of a couples pose by Purple Poses that is at this round of C88.

I want to eat the cake too

I want to eat the cake too

Ready to take down a kingdom, or to just spend the day being lavishly spoiled with Chocolate Truffles and Champagne. Mixing some lovely items from Collabor88 which is celebrating its Birthday this month…with a gorgeous new release by LeLutka if this stunning hair with flowers (separate attachment).

I am wearing a harness set is by Empire @ Fetish Fair, which is definitely a lot less mesh than you usually see on me, but the lovely pose/chair allowed for some modesty still. The hud for the harness has texture change options, and I loved being able to make the ruffles floral and keep the strapping solid, but you can go all floral or all solid, it is up to you, you can also leave the ruffles off if you prefer.

Jewellery wise, the rings sets by Mandala are divine, the stone inlay, the intricate metal work, all fit for a Queen, and they are made for particular hands in various sizes, so you should all be well covered.

The icing on the cake is the Masquerade mask by Yummy another C88 item, that just adds to the whole look and finishes it off perfectly.

Naturale

Naturale

Spending time outdoors is always a great part of Second Life, and what better way to do it, than with a stunning gazebo by Cheeky Pea. So many wonderful parts to the Kara set, that you can mix in with other pieces you may love. You have options to change the textures for the cushions, pillows and the throw blanket. I went with the natural colours, and the adorable nests and eggs just add to the outdoor charm.

I am definitely dressed up a little more than outdoorsy in this look, ready for an evening of fine wine and candlelight. The dress is a Cynful release for The Mesh Body Addicts Fair that is now on, and two sims full of mesh delights for all your body needs. This dress has three options of textures, solid, ombre and stripes, the ombre being the perfect look for this whole ensemble I put together.

I am wearing some amazing shoes that Mel bought me as a gift recently. They are Ella by Renegade, and if you do not already shop for shoes at Renegade, you definitely need to. They have such amazing texture work, materials options and lots of options for enhancements to the features, like buckles, soles etc. They are incredibly high, but with the help of hover you can stop yourself from sinking into the floor with ease.

The combination of colours of the shoes, the dress, all come together to highlight the statement necklace by Glam Affair that is at this round of Uber. Such a divine piece, that it really does compliment the strapless neckline of the dress.
