Getting into another Bloggers pants….(CHALLENGE)

One of the lesser talked about things in SL is that Bloggers shopped from other Bloggers…it has always been the case, we see things on other Blogs, as we scroll the feeds looking for our own posts, and come across an item that is new to us, appeals to us…we look up the information in the post, because of course in my mind, all Bloggers credit all items, and nothing is ever hard to find.

Years ago I did a Fashionable Relay Challenge …which was where all Bloggers- back then – got to take turns in order, and then take one item from the post that Bloggers before them included, then wear that item in a new way in their blog post with other items, and so it went. It took a little over a month to get everyone done and it was an awesome lot of fun.

I wanted to reintroduce that in a very different way, Bloggers are spread so far and wide these days, that Bloggers challenges are often not as easy to co-ordinate, and especially that one. But Whimsy and I have spoken about playing a game of tag with Bloggers . Which would in itself give kudos to the location in which an item was found for you, how you saw an item in a newer light because of how that blogger showed it. I have had people tell me over the years that they had seen a release, but did not really see its potential until blogged by either myself, or someone we know…and off they ran.

It is why I love the talky talky, and obviously the talking talking :P. You get to understand what it is that motivated someone to put on those pants, to wear that hat, and to mix and match those shoes with that spaceship (this is SL after-all) but often you do not see any response to that talky talk, and rarely just a ‘thanks for the post, that really made me want those shoes, that shirt, that hair’ somehow the commenting or just keep up the good work has vanished. I used to make a point of it myself, to visit at least ten blogs and comment once a week, which seems so little as I type it, but it really made me look at the blogs, immerse myself in what was going on with that Blogger, and their style.

So the other day, I was doing a thing that everyone was doing in Plurk and a lovely Blogger Sophee Mojo commented in my plurk. I realised that I have seen so many times her post her latest post in plurk and not acknowledged it properly, she is really good and such a nice lady. I went to her blog and saw her post, about how she was feeling lately and how some bits and pieces together made her feel a little better about things, the post is HERE .  I read it, I felt it, and of course, the shorts were a must have for me to get from then. I had not been to The Seasons Story yet, had no idea of the release, am familiar with the store, and do like their work, as does Sophee…I logged in, teleported over, found the shorts using area search, bought the fatpack and went home to put them on.

They are fun, and had more features than I bothered checking first for, the trim and the ties change colour via a hud, so while the red started out with white trim, and I was feeling very sexy Santa, I was able to change them to black and the whole rest of the look just fell into place from there. So this whole look was inspired by the talented Sophee Mojo, and I will take the link of this post and put it in her post and thank her for the help.

If you see something that you end up purchasing from a blog post, whether you are a blogger, or a designer, or a fantastic Customer/Reader/Resident how about letting the blogger know, because without someone telling us, we are on these posestands solo, and its nice to know that what we did made an impact on your inventory .

I found these great legwarmers with sneakers that Blueberry must have done yonks ago, they only come in standard sizing, but I made it work with my body…so in love with them, if these were updated to bodies fit, I can see them flying off the shelves, but don’t let that stop you grabbing some, the legwarmer parts are separate too, so you can wear the runners on their own, or vice versa.

This amazing hair is from Olive at Hairology which is going to end for the month soon, so get on over there quickly, also some items are from different events, so you need to take a spin to them all,  I am so behind this month, January has sped past.
