United Colours of

All Girls Love

Do you remember those United Colours of Benetton ads? They hit the airwaves mid 80’s for us down under, and we were all besotted by their diversity and wow factor. I mean that was the point right, to show the diversity in the world and the fact that their brand saw that there was a need to show everyone in advertising campaigns, example here .

There is girly girl in all of us, even those girls that think they don’t have any in them. When Emma Gilmour was talking about her latest big release, there was giggles as we spoke about that surfer girl mumbling and grumbling as on her hands and knees she had to rummage in their closets for a dress and proper shoes to attend some party or dance she didn’t want to go to in the first place.

She is kidding herself of course, because that dance/party is going to be the one were the boy she has loved forever finally looks at her as a girl and not just one of the boys. It will be her first kiss as waves crash down as the moon returns to the other side of the world…it is going to be that night, the night she realises why women buy pretty lingerie and shave their legs other than being aerodynamic for sports lol.

She is going to pull out this dress, the one her mum bought her in hopes that one day she would turn into a young lady, the kind of dress that suits all girls, the colours the fabric, the way it isn’t so constricting that you can feel uncomfortable in it, but not too loose that you look frumpy. It has enough swish to make you want to walk a little slower and imagine what it would be like to dance in it with that boy.

She may be the kind of girl that grabs a colourful scarf and ties it around her waist with a bow at the back just because it adds a different element to her look, and that way she feels a little bit more herself. She knows heels will be expected, but she is going to cheat a little with the vintage style wedges that she might have gotten out of her mums wardrobe, or even picked up at a jumble sale once because the colours reminded her of her favourite surfboard.

The dresses, the shoes and the belts by Surf Co. are just so fabulous you can really see how my story could be possible, totally inspiring and I got to shoot my own United Colours of looks. Which wasn’t so hard with me on my VR Studio roll, straight after the tutorial all I wanted to do was more more more, and I got to show you again how incredibly easy it is to use the VR Studio HUD to achieve things like this :).

The Glance skins gave me a chance to be as many girls as I could manage with no sleep, again the diversity is wonderful and I hope to see lots more from this skin maker. I really liked how with these particular skins without changing shape I did take on a different look, some of course I still look like me, but it is remarkable how the skin and mesh work in Second Life. The bodies of the skins are just gorgeous too, and wow you should see Whimsy in the Beyonce one , that post coming soon I hope.

The fabulous poses and animations used to do this pic are all by Body Language, they have a great big release at the Pose Fair starting 2nd April so make sure to check those out, full AO’s and poses that are just gorgeous , especially the two breast covering packs, we can never have too many of those.

These dresses and shoes make me glad I am a girly girl, and even if I wasn’t I soon would be.
