    Fake and then some

Another big thanks to Willow.Z for blogging some items from a new to me store. I caught a pic on her flickr, and just had to go and investigate, not only did I buy everything from the one store, but also the two others in the same sim, by the same talented creators.
Again I wanted to show the versatility of items that aren’t created for everyday wear as such, but more for the lifestyle or RP side of things.
    Fan5
This top is a Camisk style, in a beautiful semi sheer fabric, semi sheer is why you don’t get a full frontal :P. Wearing it with some lovely forest green shorts , and the recent release of the J’s Ankle boots SQUARE TOE , wooohooo, they were so hot in rounded, but the square are just divine, and the buckle on the sides just enhances the love. They have the same beautiful colours as the previous boots, and with the two heels options as well in the menu driven script. I love the stiletto heels with these boots, but depending on terrain the thicker heel is a blessing to have as an option, and genius to have it built in.
    Fan4
The Taffy is a sexy mini Camisk style dress, but it is so playfully cute, that it can be worn on it’s own for the risque, or over trousers such as the fab ones from Fri.day I couldn’t resist. I really love the style of this dress/camisk, as it gives off the illusion of being bound in by an extra layer , it is all one piece, but I would love it if the yellow portion was a seperate layer, imagine that option in a bazillion prints and solids, oh the looks YUM.
    Fan3
This dress is of course full Gorean garb and so incredibly beautiful, I couldn’t resist. I really like the shape of the cloak and veil, they fit perfectly and the lines and shape of the dress is wonderful. I was really impressed also that because the empire portion is attached to the long skirt, it has an inbuilt animation so that you do not end up looking peculiar with your own AO , as well as instructions on how to alter that if needed. Then once done with the gown, I took off the extra’s and added the same pants in another colour and voila, a really fun daytime look. The colour is gorgeous and I really love the billowy look sleeves and witch like collar, ok I have no idea what it’s real name is, but it so reminds me of Samantha’s cousin in Bewitched.
    Fan2
The Comfy set is just that, so many different RP options for this full dress, I was watching anne of green gables tonight, and it would even fit into that style too. But it was of course that incredibly scrumptious looking cardigan over the top that won me. Not only does it come in this lovely soft tan, but I got four different colours in one, seriously for the price it is a steal. Wearing the cardigan with the pants that actually grabbed my attention in the first place, these are the Meow pants from FAKE, a new to me store that is I believe a new collaberation of the creators behind Fantasia and Elements, the two stores who’s items I am also featuring today.

Elements and Fantasia are of course the more lifestyle and RP side of things, and FAKE is the more modern look….all three incredible stores are on the same sim, and it is just pure luck that traveling up a beautiful path I found the other two. I should thank Whimsy for her crashing and me just wandering around waiting for her return.
    Fan9
WOWZA , It was instant love for the Salute Jumper also from FAKE, as soon as I had it in my mitts I was wearing it. This whole rockabilly style that is usually definitely male orientated has come out as a fantastic look for women. I think I forced Whimsy to get one too, she got a different colour, I can so imagine us strutting down a road doing a Reservoir Dogs kind of thing. I added the circle cut out socks by Kookie that I totally forgot I bought ages ago, so was super excited to find them, and that there was a great red pair in the pack. I don’t know if you can see it clearly, but I have on a cherry flavoured bling pop ring, this is from FAKE too, and comes with lots of flavours, I kind of couldn’t resist.
    Fan1
This next combo is the one that grabbed my attention first at Fantasia, I actually spent the whole day in this yesterday in different combination’s. First off the full set, then changed the pants to the BF jeans from Maitreya , then settled into this other mix with the red Fakies from Fake, and the addition of the strapless bra from Popfuzz. I do wish that the corset top was a tad higher, so that I didn’t have to add a seperate layer, but the red of the bra worked well, so I’m not too unhappy about it, and I love love love it as a top.

Also I am wearing the fabulous Carina skins from LAQ, to me Carina is a natural progression from the Tasha skins, similar features, and beautiful detailing, I really love the soft lift to the mouth, and the full of expression eyes.  This skin also comes with the hair base option, so for those like me that bought the hair base hairstyles a few months ago, you now have another beautiful GLOW skin to wear with them. Today the release of also Cleavage Enhancers for the GLOW range, it comes on three layers, and is just WOWZA. As you will see in these next few pics, it is definitely an enhancement, it will only work with the LAQ Glow skins, but if you check the fat pack prices of those you will find them an incredible bargain.
    Fan8
Speaking of hair, I am actually wearing Zero Style hair today. I went and grabbed both the long and the shorter style yesterday and have been back and forth’ing on all three all day and night, I love the longer styles of Camille and Shirley, with the shorter Enrica being so sleek and elegant. The braids style is Dorotea, which is just an adorable style as well.

These two tops/camisks are from Elements, and the first two I saw and had to have. For some reason they remind me of vintage star trek, I am not a Treky, but that was my era, so I did actually watch every week, and the women of the different planets always had such beautiful clothes like these. The top of the left as you can see sort of on the far right, is as plunging at the front as the back , but it also has those nipple highlights I’m not a huge fan of in public, mind you I think if I am going to wear such plungey clothing I can get over it :P.

The skirt I am wearing is from Popfuzz, it’s the belted mini and these come in so handy for finishing off a look.
    Fan7
Holy smokes, this is again a Gorean style thingymajig, ok I am not sure if it’s a camisk as it has the prim part, but whichever it is, I had to have it because of the top :P. The choices of fabrics on all the clothing, from both the Fantasia and Elements stores are just beautiful and rich, the gold on red in this combo is beautiful and teamed up with some charcoal, it is divine. Mind you I don’t know how anyone will be able to tell what colour you have on with the top, if you wear the same skin and enhancements.
    Fan6
Lastly in another beautiful rich red, the Turian tied camisk is a perfectly gorgeous option for swimwear. Or at the very least, laying by the pool wear. As you can see the rest of the Carina body is really well detailed, and the skin tones are lovely, this being the nougat.

I could have spent a lot more at all three stores, and I do hope that both creators get to making me more temptations. Such a fantastic load of talent on one beautiful sim.

So last week when I posted on SK I said that I went to another store on the way home. Much the same as previous it was a crazy buying spree. The items vary in style, but they all have a definite charm, and with the prices being wickedly reasonable it all works to get your sexy on.

These are my favourites of the items I purchased, and yes I got more than this, but I think all up I was there for less than ten minutes, it was that fast and furious lol. The first set is definitely theme wear, as are a few of the items, but so much fun, and definitely a great chance to again wear my Surf Co. cowboy hat- even if it does take off my piercings , argh I so have to do a new attachment for that hat.

With some of the items from Crazy, yes that’s the name of the store, you will need to make slight adjustments. Such was the case with the pants to this set, as they are as long as pants go, that meant the mesh flared and as its open at the ends with skin exposed it doesn’t look so hot, but as they are definitely boot wearing pants, it didn’t matter, just shortened a touch and all was fine. The scarf came with and the colour of that is just lovely, a real sunset look with the worn in tshirt, which is sheer by the way.

The next set is fun for swanning about as I do, very sexy and fun to wear, you could add a skirt as I have done with other looks such as this on occasion. Janis the puffy blouse and Denim overalls romper look is HOT HOT HOT, there is so much to love in this combo, one thing that stands out is the fact that they have created a really natural looking piece of jewelry for the neck on a clothing layer as part of the look. Jewelry on clothes is a great thing, but can be hard to pull off, but as this is a leather necklace with a pendant it really works well.

The Janis set also comes with the belt, so its all systems go straight out of the package. Another club ensemble with hot pants and a lovely lacey edge looking boostier, these sets are just fun, no matter how many you have. Road, what better name than for this one, a greasemonkey I’m not, but if I was to pull apart an engine I’d want to look like this. The tattoo parts of this are so fun, the grease stains and tiretracks lol, even the chain link belt is wicked.

The Umma set is my fav fav, I did have to wear the bra from the Glam set though. The shorts are fabulous in tweed, and the cinched vest wench look really floats my boat. I could talk all day on these items but I wont, not today…today you have to go out and see for yourself.

The skin I am wearing is Yasmine from YS & YS , a deep rich tone, with and without hair base, with black or brown brow options. So many variations to choose from. The make ups are very striking and really worked for these looks today, my favourite features would have to be the shiny lips and cats eye make up. THe body of the skin is as usual beautiful, demo demo demo as there has recently been three new skins added to the stores range.

All of the hair I am wearing is by Mirai, some old some new, the New is the one featured the most lol, I really love that Mirai recently seemed to change textures to a little softer than they were for a while. They have such a wonderful range of hair styles, especially for lovers of big hair.

The Rodeo boots are by Adam n Eve , and I really do like the shape and style of these boots for a cowgirl theme look. I also decided to take the BAX Prestige boots for another spin, so they feature in the rest of the images.

Red, White and Blue…it totally wasn’t planned, but it did turn out that way. It’s been a great week for hair for me so far, and it’s only mid week, but what week isn’t great for hair. Have you ever seen an item on a shelf and thought oooo ahhh, and bought it , and gotten it home to put on, and next thing you know you got more than you expected?

That’s exactly what happened with the first dress when shopping at Emery a while ago, I had no idea it had that incredible cut out detailing on the back, the front was fun enough for me to want it, back and forth semi diagonal lines in red, across a stark white background…with adorable knee high red with white trim accented socks.

The back is definitely va va voom worthy. Wanting a vintagey look , I teamed it up with the sunglasses from a already over 50L friday purchase, a great bargain for sure, but even without the fab price the style and fit of them is just great. Then adding the flavour of the day with the New Prestige boots by BAX , these things just keep on giving. The boots have so many different options from a drop down dialogue menu, you can see most of them in the pics as I go.

I really love the backcombed look of this stunning hair from Mirone. I kept the boots as simple as they come straight out of the box for this shot.

Next up, and again from Emery we have the skirt that makes me think of bacon, and because of that I love it even more. Not only is it a great simple tube skirt, but I love how it dips on one side, showing a tad more hip. I would love more of this style in different prints and colours. The top I grabbed off Xstreet, the XD store does crazy reductions on their items on Xstreet, less than half in many cases.

Another great hairstyle from Mirone – thanks to Ashia Tomsen for tping me to the Glance 1st anniversary where I was able to buy these great styles. This time I made use of the drop down on the Prestige Boots, changing the seams and edging, as well as the zipper and heels to red, popping up the over the knee extensions I was ready for action.

I was on a roll with these boots, so nosedived into my Tuli folder of clothing. This is where we went from red and white, to blue and white. I have always been a top stretcher, I had this insane reaction to things touching my neck as a kid, so all the collars of shirts would be stretched to near ripping point – and wow did I get into trouble for that. So styles such as this top make me happy, its elegant in an older Jackie O kind of era, but has that 80’s repeat thing going on, which of course  every 20 years is repeated so it’s definitely the theme now.

I really like the detailing done to the sleeves of this shirt, the rolled and fastened look is a nice addition, worn with some really nice shiny blue leggings that fit just right into the boots. It needed a little something though, so back to Xstreet because I was feeling lazy, and I knew it was there, I finally got the white version of the Widebelt from CoCo.

A few weeks ago Sofia and I went to Dango Jewells – if you haven’t checked out her fashion blog posts you are missing out – store Fabulous, I had been in a few times, and had really liked a particular set of bangles, this time I actually grabbed them. They come in two variations, in gold and white gold.

The other night Arabella, Whimsy and I went by the Clawtooth by Clawtooth sale, it was fun shopping together and each finding different things to love in each style, I already had a few Clawtooth creations, but was appreciative that I got to pick up some bargains. The goodbye horses hair I had loved since Hair Fair, but for some reason kept grabbing other styles whenever I went, I fixed that this time though.

Another style by Clawtooth and one of my favs as it actually has fun attachments with it, I am not wearing in this pic. The lovely full locks look great with the casual handkerchief dress by Tuli, she does such great work with prints and this dress is no exception. Another thing she does really well is denim, especially in jeans, these torn capri jeans are fab, and the perfect segway into my favourite of the Prestige boots features.

Denim cuffs anyone, yes I kid you not, the boots come with three different denim uppers, which of course will make them jean cuff lowers. This is a genius idea, and as denim when rolled up is very generic it works perfectly. So now due to this wonderful option, I get to look as though I am wearing pants cuffs, with boots uppers, and its still only one attachment point. The shirt was actually a VIP gift from Tuli and is a lovely loose sleeved look.

This hair is again Mirone, and was also a gift, for the Glance anniversary, so make sure you head over while that is still on. I am really happy that the new Sloth skins by Red Queen had such beautiful blue make ups, that it worked so well with these looks. I also enjoyed getting to show you a little bit more of the bodies of these skins, as I think the stomach is delish, so make sure you grab a demo of those soon to try for yourself.

Also be sure to check out the demos of the BAX Prestige boots, seriously the options on these are fantastic, and the colours are perfect for the upcoming cooler weather – it’s freezing here already.

Are there markets where you live? I used to be a market girl, both selling and buying. Going to the markets in Sydney can be a huge event, much like a social experience, especially Bondi markets. You know when you see people gather together and do the whole “OMG how are you *kiss kiss* you look FABULOUS *kiss kiss* and yet they had coffee with each other an hour earlier.

It was always fun shopping, watching, eating..all of those fabulous food items that you can’t get anywhere else. One of the markets we used to frequent even had tibetan food, that was definitely a high falutin market. Always also definitely a place to people watch, fashion wise, you really did have to put on your best look for the day, but had to look as though you weren’t trying.

That’s definitely how I feel about the first outfit today. It is a really beautiful, yet casual to the eye look. The style of top is always a pleasure to wear, crushed silk in an assortment of beautiful pastels, featuring a floral brooch on the strap. This style top in RL can range in price, from an incredible bargain, to a mortgage payment. Either way it is a delight to wear, and accentuates all your feminine attributes. The jeans have a worn in look, they could be yours, they could be your flatmates, male or female, it doesn’t matter as long as they don’t look straight off the hanger.Fishy Strawberry has done a fabulous job of pulling this off on both counts.

Who can resist clogs, they have come and gone in fashion, as long as I have been alive, and further back than that. The new Klaks from Tesla are beauties, they are the right style and fit, for any casual occasion. The hair has to be just right as well, not overly styled, but not too not done either, it has to look like you put in some effort, just not a big one lol.

That’s why the new Fri hair from Miel is just right, it has that *grabs the nearest hair ribbon * and loosely ties it up and back, pulling out a few tendrils for effect. Yeah yeah , we all do it. Another great hairstyle is the Audrey II designed by Jolie Femme. This hair is soft and wavy, with a freshly washed look to it, the hair is made up of a lot of alpha pieces, but luckily it isnt overly flexified, so it doesn’t move too much, it just moves when and how it should.

The pretty silk babydolls are also from Fishy Strawberry, they have a subtle motif at the bottom, that doesn’t stand out too much, making it still a somewhat dressy dress. The straps falling off the shoulders is fun, and charming, the silk is so soft that it has definitely brought to attention the shape of the body – yes that’s my subtle way of saying it has nipple highlights . I have to admit , I am not a fan of that look, I have in the past asked for an additional layer to not include it, giving people a choice.

I tend to be embarrassed about the idea of standing around on high beam, and not all fabrics would even allow for that effect, but in SL it seems to be a popular thing to do. But while thinking that originally with this dress, I realised that with this type of silk fabric, and the bare arms and full skirt, there would probably be a 95% chance of it happening, so that made it much more tolerable, plus the dress is beautiful.

The delicate jewelry that just entered my life, is the Cinderella set by Skream, really pretty pieces make up this silver and diamond encrusted set, the drops in the necklace are lovely, I could see wearing it a lot of the time, especially with the bangle as well, reminds me of those tennis bracelets in RL – which I still don’t understand why they are called that .

With all of this I am wearing the beautiful SLOTH Skin by Red Queen, I have had this one for the length of time it took to take the pics, and tpd to see two friends in between and both thought it was beautiful, which is always a great thing, but I knew it already. There are so many options with the Red Queen skins, hair bases, brow options, tattoo options and some beaten up bumps and bruises options, that are perfect for RP.

A quickie , which can either mean I type not much at all, or I ramble on and on about so much stuff, that the post ends up longer than my usual ones. So let’s not, and say that we did. I actually shot this picture last week, and I really liked the pearlised look of it. I also watched that project runway show for the first time, so I am thinking this would have been a sure win for the ex Mrs Stamos to pregnancy around in, if it was an RL item of course…seriously someone needs to work out a way to do that show in Second Life.

I’m a bit la la la la, not having slept at all yet, and its going into another day entirely…5 hours in about 30+ hours isn’t good..but I had fun, sort of revamping my blog.

Totally glad Chloris Hathor has brought back VG . I paired up the dress from there, with incredibly matching shoes from Adam n Eve, I am actually really impressed with the match, as these shoes are such a rare colour. The fabric to the babydoll formal is really lovely, kind of a raw silk , giving it body and weight, but a beautiful silky sheen all at the same time.

To keep in with the gold and pearly look, I opted for the hand jewelry from Zaara’s , the pieces of the Nizam  & Haath Panja set are just stunning traditional pieces brought to SL for us to relish. The overall style of the semi formal/cocktail look is finished up perfectly with this backcombed and ribboned hair by Diversity. All wrapped around the Cleo by Dutch Touch.

So today I woke up and checked my emails as I was logging in. There was an offline from a designer who’s store I featured a few years ago, letting me know he still remembered that the first time he appeared in a blog it was by me, and that now he had his own store blog.
I thought that was so sweet, and was excited to see some items I hadn’t seen of his on the blog. Yes I did go and search out his store every few months, but nothing that I didn’t already have, until today. So as soon as I logged in and sorted through everything I had to , I was off and running.

I also checked out another store, then came home. Trying on all my new outfits I remembered that I had meant to swing by Refuge, so off I went again, and got two more styles to show with my other Refuge hair. I really like the hair produced by Refuge, especially with the straight across rock-a-billy bangs. The first style has the most adorable bows and pins decorating the pigtails look.

All the clothing I am wearing is from SK Designs, they have been around since 2007 and their look has changed a bit, but not too much over that time. The creator Sergio designs for both men and women, but I think from the style of clothing he does, that he probably enjoys making for women a bit more. The ensembles are sold as sets, so all you see is all you get, and sometimes more, depending on if there are other coloured tops or both long and shorter pants, etc. The prices are really reasonable and transfer, so if you are looking at buying items that you can share with your other selves, this is perfect.

The skins I am wearing are the Cleo skins from Dutch Touch, with more leaning towards the more creative of make ups in the range, the punk and pip make ups are a fun change. The eye make ups are especially gorgeous, and I have been wearing the punk skins on and off for the last few days, I love the liner on the inner part of the eyes.

Old boots in the form of the 3way Engineer boots from J’s, teamed up with the brand new Rea Suede plain boots by Pixel Mode, these are delightful , in a range of colours that you can co-ordinate with a vast range of seasonal choices. The style are simple but elegant, they have a semi scrunched look, and an incredibly high heel. What is very surprising and will make many happy , is that these boots are mod, so that you can size them to your needs.

I had a wonderful time revisiting an old store, and came out with lots of newness, I hope you like.

    Hair thanks

Hair has always been such an incredible industry in Second Life. From way back when there was less stores to choose from, until now, where there is a constant stream of fabulous locks to love. Hair used to be my biggest and only addiction in Second Life.

Sometimes buying up to a dozen styles in one day, and ending up walking around in the last purchase, and often never even wearing the first few until weeks afterward. I actually started as a redhead, the candie Vonta being the first style I purchased for 5L and regardless of how many other styles I bought in the weeks following, I loved it to bits, and wore the red all the time.

I thought I would never move from Strawberry red by Gurl 6, it was a to die for red, and it was close enough to the one by Panache. I actually still have Candie and Faith MidNyte still in my inventory, it is too hard to let go of them.

Then I started to find other stores, and the reds weren’t special enough for me, or as bright, or they just didn’t have the same energy to make me desire them. The hair itself did that, but the colours were so hard, and back then it was very rare to have a colour demo, and often hair had so many strips of either demo texture or colours that you were distracted.

So I turned to the ‘safe’ black , because even when black isn’t always the exact black you like, it is still black. I often mix it up though, there are stores I often cannot pass up their reds, or blondes, or even brunettes. But out of habit more so than not, I reach for the black, and i do love it, I always wanted to dye my reddish hair black as a teen.

There are others though, that are so true to their colours, perfect examples of that come in our bloggers, there are some bloggers that we probably recognise more from their hair colour, than anything else when running down a feed, especially the redheads like Cajsa, Ana and Whimsy.

I actually embarrassed myself recently at a store with Grazia, when a lady joined us to say hello and I mentioned how startling it was to see her not blonde, apparently she had changed hair colour a while ago – sorry Nici – but even though I look at her blog every other day, in my head she was still a blonde.

Over the years I have worked with a few different Hair Creators, as well as been close friends with others. There are many things that go on behind the scenes in all kinds of stores in Second Life, but with hair it is a constant mix of updating, repackaging and coming up with new styles.

The amount of IM’s as well as notecards a hair creator can receive during a week is huge, not even counting the downpour straight after a release. Can you make it longer, shorter, bangs on left, bangs on right.  Can it have a bow, a bonnet, a hat.  Can you take off the bow, the bonnet, the hat – lol I just realised I sent one of those IMs just last week myself.

If a hair creator changes textures, it’s the end of the world for some. If a hair creator changes the way they put together their packs, it’s catastrophic. Being a newer creator in some aspects is easier, because you have the ability to really look at the market as a whole, and see what it is from the start that will work for them and their brand. Older creators often get stuck in what they have, because any change could effect them as a whole business.

We are incredibly loyal to our hair needs, I once did a post on hair creators including updates in their packs, that way if they did make changes, we got the choice to change with, or keep what we had, but the option would be there. Possibly freeing up the creator, and allowing them to feel that it’s ok to change.

Making room for new hair has always been my own personal hell, when hair creators discontinue – cries . Hairstyles we love so much, are suddenly thrown away. Aleri has done that to me often, but last year I actually won one back, as that hair was asked for so often it was just crazy not to pull it back out of retirement.

That’s sometimes another IM/Notecard “where is such and such hair, I saw someone wearing it and I must have it ” the hair has been deleted even from the creators inventory, but the IM’s keep coming, so they recreate it as close as they can, which makes many happy, but for some reason, others get a bit weirded out by it.

Is it the same ? Is there enough of a difference in a style to make it a New style ? Well for me it doesn’t actually always have to be too different. That is the other thing I have noticed about hair wearers.

Let me step back a second though, a few months into Second Life, one thing that dawned on me, is that in such an incredible costume driven environment, we don’t have wigs. Or at least we didn’t back then – I would hate to not point out that Curio Obscura  most definitely fall into the wig area – but I was watching a rerun of Alias, and pined over the way Sydney looked in a short blue bob.

That all of Second Life hair for some would be thought of as wigs, I have even heard some call them that, but that means we would have to consider ourselves naturally bald underneath. But we didn’t get to wear hair that looks like it is a wig. I mean if Cajsa turned up at an event in a short blue bob, that would be considered one 🙂 as she is known as a red head.

But if I did it, or Grazia or many others , it would be just us changing hair colour/styles again not a second thought would go into it – Mind you Grazia in that pulp fiction style Lamb hair looked HOT HOT HOT like a wig.

So back to hair that only changes slightly, or a lot. If I wear my rQ hair, it is like it’s my hair restyled. The hair itself is always the same texture, similar length pieces are used, but it is such a different style, that it looks like I have really done something new with it. It looks like I gathered it all back and knotted it, or I grabbed big handfuls of it and added enough hairpins to hold it in place. Or it looks like I gathered it up as best I could under a cap, and that is why I love it.

If I go to Magika it is the same, my hair, restyled , or cut and restyled. Sometimes I part it on a different side, sometimes I add things to it, but it is my hair. I wear it up, over , under, I curl it , leave it to dry naturally, get it layered or wrap it around a bone if I want to.

I am also loving lately the fact that a few newer stores, and some older stores are all using the same textures, this just gives those that wish to keep that same look, but slight changes, more of a range to choose from now.

There are other stores where each release is a completely different style, it isn’t your hair you worked on, but more of a visit to a stylist for a make over, you completely do a 360 and out you come looking so startlingly different that if you didn’t have a name over your head, your own SL mother wouldn’t recognise you.

But that is half the fun too. I have many of those styles as well. There are so many ways to give yourself a lift in Second Life, the most inexpensive of them is Hair. I could go to HCT , ETD, and have a hair explosion just in 1L packs.  If you are new it is an incredible thing, to have such wonderful variety to find the look you wish to have, mind you that often changes a few weeks in, once you see all the other ways you can look.

But for the most part, people want to identify with their avatars, especially the longer they are here, if they work or represent a business, often they want to look as professional as possible, so like to wear their hair up and neat, but love the option of the same looking hair once its down and loose, for more social occasions.

Some rely on stipend for their shopping money, they are on a budget and treat themselves to new hair every few weeks, like a visit to a RL hairsalon, so it is a big deal for them to not get something too ‘out there’ from their natural look. They will be loyal to a brand that can give them as much of a range of the same hair as possible.

Much like people that are loyal to one skin line, pining for new make ups.

All of these factors play a huge part on the hair industry in SL , some cater to both customer bases, some cater to only one. Even the sci fi, cyberpunk hair creators tend to do variations on their own styles because of the loyalty to a particular look their customers have.

Hair becomes as permanent to many as their skin, I remember being guilt of assumption because of the very hair I mentioned in the beginning. If I saw someone wearing the Panache 5L styles I assumed they were new, and if I looked in their profile I would find that wasn’t the case at all, the hair had become the them they identified with the most. They are not unaware there is more out there, they mix with other people, they shop in stores all over SL, but the hair is how they feel comfortable, it’s also how often you can find people in a crowd lol.

Mel wears Armidi hair, and sometimes I think of him changing it and I freak out, he logs into a different Sasy every day, sometimes hourly lol, but if he changed him I’d be a wreck.

So thank you to all the hair creators out there, the ones that give us wigs, the ones that make it possible to feel like a rockstar on occasion. The ones that make us incredibly unusual styles that we could only ever wear in Second Life, and we love that we get to, and a big thank you to those that listen to the requests of their customers and make slight changes, so that we can feel at home in ourselves, because Second Life can be a scary place without an identity of your own.

Oh and thanks for reading my ramble about hair, and my experiences with it. Remember this is just my observations, and dealing with friends and customers, and just how I sometimes want to be a rockstar, or pebbles, or business like.
